Obituary Preview: Mario Arciga-Mora, 84, of Aurora, IL passed away peacefully on July 14, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on October 8, 1937 in San Miguel Epejan, Michoacan, Mexico, the son of Marcial Arciga and Urbana Mora. Mario had humble beginnings and at a young age he started farming. He stayed true to his roots and never forgot where he came from, frequently contributing to the community where he grew up. He was a hard worker and dedicated to the family he so deeply loved. For over 30 years he worked at Fox Valley Forge Company and retired after years of dedicated service. He was loving in all his ways, a wonderful storyteller who took a genuine interest in learning about people. He had a passion for gardening, he enjoyed history and politics and loved a good road trip. Above all things, Mario loved his family and adored his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Maria Del Carmen Arciga; children, Guadalupe (Rodolfo) Ballesteros, Norma (Amalec) Rodriguez, Cesar (Angelica Guerrero) Arciga, Monica (Carl Levan) Arciga, Miguel (Tracy) Arciga, Francisca Santiago, Maria (Miguel) Santiago, Adriana Arciga, and Dario Marcial Arciga; 22 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Martha Arciga; and brother, Andres (Margarita) Aguiñiga. He is also survived by his 4 legged companions Casper and Bella. He is preceded in death by his parents, son, Mario Arciga, Jr., 2 daughters in infancy Maria Teresa and Audelia Arciga; granddaughter Autumn Rose Santiago; siblings, Dolores Duran, Cecilia Arciga, Erlinda Arciga, Rosario Rios and Luis Arciga; Tia, Maria “Amor” Cruz and Tio, Antonio Arciga.

Herminia was a wonderful wife, mother and homemaker. A friend to many. We lost our father 11 years ago but by the grace of god we had our mother for these years. Mother loved life and had the hardest time leaving us.
Herminia is survived by her daughters, Elva (Rhett) Smith, Velia (Lorenzo) Herrera, Maria (Dennis) Newman, Gloria (Mark) Oldin; grandchildren, Roberto Herrera, Karina Acosta, Alma Guzman, Gabriel Sanchez, Alexander Newman, Danielle Moore, Jacklyn Oldin, Kristen Oldin; great-grandchildren, Caroline, Cristian, Kamila, Diego, Isla Mia, Nora, Hernan, Joaquin, Fabian, Gema, Felix, Sofia, Logan Alexander; and sister, Gudelia.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Roberto Rodriguez; parents, Lidia and Lucio Navar; grandson, Alexander J. Newman; and siblings, Giodardo, Hortencia, Arturo, Armando, and M.Angeita.

Obituary Preview: Mary A. Vriner, 95, of Montgomery, IL formerly of Urbana, IL passed away peacefully on July 11, 2022. She was born in Montgomery, IL on February 28, 1927 the daughter of John and Kathryn Lesiotis. Mary was a longtime member of St. Athanasios Greek Church in Aurora and was devout and proud of her faith. She was a strong, independent, hardworking woman. For nearly 25 years she was a dedicated employee of Kraft in Champaign, IL.  Later she went on to give her time as a caretaker for many elderly people up until she was 85. She took great pride in her work found much pleasure in each of the relationships she made during those years. She was a wonderful cook, enjoyed traveling, loved her cats but her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren.
She will be dearly missed by all.
She is survived by her children; Lampros Vrinios, John (Lucinda) Vriner and Athanasia Vrinios; grandsons, Lucas (Melissa) Vriner and Alexander Vriner; great-granddaughters, Sloane Grace and Elise Marie Vriner.
She is preceded in death by her husband, George L. Vriner and brother Jim Lesiotis.

She was born April 12, 1920 in Carrizo Springs, Texas, daughter of the late Florencio & Petra (Bernal) Salazar.
Julia Martinez was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great- great grandmother, and a friend to many. Some of her hobbies were cooking (especially making her Tamales), gardening, sewing, knitting, listening to Christian music, but her favorite thing was to spend quality time with her family. She had a strong faith in God and was a devoted member of New Life Church in Yorkville, IL.
Survivors include: four daughters, Janie Ruiz of Aurora, Carmen Rydberg of Plano, Irene Alvarez of Aurora, and Maria “Linda” (Richard) Schroeder of Yorkville; three sons, Edward (Jane) Martinez Jr. of Indiana, Carlos (Ann) Martinez of Oswego, and George (Amanda) Martinez of Michigan; 30 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren (too many to list).
She is preceded in death by: her parents; brothers and sisters; 1st husband Juan Escalante; husband, Edward G. Martinez Sr; children Johnny Escalante and Rosalinda Martinez; grandchildren Nathan Granados, Rosalinda and Josephine Martinez.
A special thank you is given to Alden Courts of Waterford, her caregivers Cindy and Georgina, Divine Hospice, and New Life Church. Obituary Preview: Jose Filiberto Sanchez, 75, of Aurora IL, passed away on July 8, 2022. He was born December 8, 1946 the son of Maria and Isabel Sanchez. Jose was a very loving husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, and Brother. He loved listening to Tejano music, working on cars, collecting old cars, and riding motorcycles. He retired from General Mills after 28 and a half years. He Graduated from East Aurora High School class of 1967. Following his graduation, he joined the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam for 3 years in the field and also as a heavy equipment mechanic. He then married Maria Sanchez. They Celebrated 46 years of marriage in May. Jose was a loyal member to the church of Templo Sion.
Jose is Survived by his wife, Maria Sanchez; son, Jose F (Jennifer) Sanchez Jr; brothers, Arturo (Jennifer) Garza, Jose Luis (Vicky) Garza, Juan Manuel (Diane) Garza; sisters, Consuelo Shelato, Lupe (Oscar) Rodriguez, Florinda (Jose) Vela, Minerva (Abel) Munoz; grandchildren, Jaclyn M Sanchez, Jose F Sanchez III, and Abigail N Sanchez; and great-grandchild, Kairo I Savage.

Obituary Preview: Robert Eugene Vonhoff, 88, of Geneva, IL passed away July 6, 2022. He was born on December 25, 1933 the son of Edna and William Vonhoff. Bob was born and raised in Montgomery, IL and was a graduate of West Aurora High School and Bradley University. After completing his education, he served in the air force, including being stationed in France. Bob worked his entire career and retired from DACO Incorporated as Plant Manager. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, Nancy, and spending time with friends and family. They’ve visited every state in the USA and multiple countries. He was also a lifelong member of First Christian Church in Aurora, IL where he served as a leader in many capacities.
Bob is survived by his wife of 65 years, Nancy Vonhoff; children, Eric (Cathy) Vonhoff of Yorkville, IL, Eliot Vonhoff of Machesney Park, IL, Ross (Billie Jo) Vonhoff of Portland, OR; Scott (Theresa) Vonhoff of Sugar Grove, IL; grandchildren, Ashley (Ian) Lavery, Madalyn, Parker, Grant, Ripley, and Angelica Vonhoff; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Edna and William Vonhoff; and his brother and sister-in-law, William (Eunice) Vonhoff.
Any memorials under Robert’s name will go towards funding mission work in the Philippines.

She was born September 7, 1935 the daughter of Marie and Elmer Hipp. Rosemary was a graduate of Madonna High School. From a young age, she worked as a nurse’s aide and continued to do so for many years. Her career also included serving as a CNA and an activity aide at Michaelson Health Care in Batavia, IL. She enjoyed worshiping the Lord at Calvary Church of Naperville. A woman of strong faith, she loved sharing scripture and prayer with others and cherished her angel collection. She adored sparkles and glitter, shopping, crafts, and most of all- spending time with her family. She is survived by her children, Tim (Laura) Deisher, Julie (Tom) Martin, and Linda (Mario) Bastida; grandchildren Kevin and Michelle Deisher, Lisa (Ryan) Alltop, Michael (Hannah) Bastida, GySgt Christopher Bastida, Lauren (Carlos) Arias; great grandchildren Gabriel, Emilia, Angel, Benjamin, Isaiah, Estrella, AJ and Leon; twin sister Roseann Theisen, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Deisher; siblings, Ronald Hipp, Norma Hosterman, Thomas Hipp, Elaine Navarro; brothers-in-law, Spesh Hosterman, William Navarro, James Theisen; sister-in-law Carol Hipp; cousin Donald Mench and nephew Ronald Hipp. Rosemary’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Seasons/Accent Care Hospice for all of their care and attention. Ralph C. Sickler - September 10, 1936 - July 05, 2022

Obituary Preview: Ralph C Sickler Jr. formerly of Aurora, IL passed away peacefully on July 5, 2022 at the age of 85. He was born on September 10, 1936 in Aurora to Ralph and Emily (Stillwell) Sickler Sr. When you think of Ralph you think of Aurora, Allsteel, sports, and especially family. Ralph spent most of his life active in the Aurora community. He was a member of the Tiger Club, Lucky 50 Club, and Eastside Social Club. Ralph began his career at Allsteel in 1954 as a punch press operator making $1.02 per hour. He spent the next 43 years working as hard as possible and retired in 1997 as a plant manager. After his retirement, Ralph and his beautiful wife Sara spent their time between their home in Sun City, AZ and vacation home at Pioneer Park in Lake Delton, WI. Throughout his life Ralph loved sports. He was a bowler and golfer. He enjoyed volunteering at golf tournaments and watching high school basketball, the Chicago Bears, and Arizona Cardinals football teams. Most of all Ralph was devoted to the Chicago Cubs. He was over the moon when the Cubs won the World Series in 2016. Much of Ralph’s time in Arizona was spent at every Spring Training game he could attend. Over the years Ralph also was an enthusiastic sports memorabilia collector, but even more his favorite pastimes were coaching his children and grandchildren and watching them play the sports they loved. In his final years, Ralph spent his time in Ohio doting over his children, grandchildren, and loyal pets and could be found mowing the lawn on his Grasshopper or relaxing in his favorite chair watching sports. Ralph was the pillar of his family and was blessed with a large loving one. He is survived by his adoring children Guy Sickler, Ralph (Blake) Sickler, Ronnie (Dawn) Sickler, and Megan (Chris Sourlis) Day. Ralph was a beloved grandfather of 17 to Michael (Celeste), Chad (Leslie), Michele, Breanne (Bill), Holly (Daniel), Dakota, Aly, RJ, RC (Jodi), McKenzie (Ben), Christopher (Amanda), Melanie (Jeremy), Dalton, Alessa, Madison, Brittany (Justin), and Austin and great grandfather of 22 to Gavin, Trevor, Devin (Morgan), Cali, KJ, Kallen, Kalel, Ke’Mari, Ma’Kenzie, Haylee, Logan, Gemma, Amilia, Hannah, Dylon, Riley Dawn, Easton, Wyatt, MaryScarlett, Brielle, Riley, and Jayden. He is also survived by his siblings Elaine Nowlin, Kenneth Sickler, and Judith (Mike) Forrest, brother-in-law Edward (Catherine) Spann, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends he considered family. Preceding Ralph in death were his wife Sara; parents; son Ricky Sickler; stepdaughter Theressa “Lynn” Johnston; siblings Catherine (Doran) Huppert, Raymond Sickler, Ronald (Sharon L) Sickler, Arlene Sickler, Marlene Sickler, and Louise Sickler; brothers-in-law Charles Nowlin, Bernace Spann, and James Spann; and sister-in-law Sharon R Sickler. Obituary Preview: Danni Lee Crissip, 72, of Yorkville, passed away Thursday June 30, 2022 at Copley. Danni was born August 4, 1949 in East St. Louis, IL; son of Thomas and Doris (Burke) Crissip. He graduated from East Aurora High School in 1967. Following High School, Danni proudly served in the Untied States Army during the Vietnam War; and received the Bronze Medal. After his time in the Army, Danni enrolled at Waubonsee Jr. College and received an Associates degree in Law Enforcement. From Waubonsee he began an illustrious 30 year career as a Police Officer at The Aurora Police Dept. At the age of 60, Danni chose to become true to herself.  She is survived by a brother Rick (Rhonda),  a sister Karen Johnson and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Danni is preceded in death by her parents, wife Danae, 2 brothers; Thomas Jr (Marlene), Ronald and a sister Cindy (Russell) George and her 3 wonderful dogs Jenny, Sugar and Copper. Preceding Ron in death were his father, Robert Dillard Williams; his mother, Arminda Lucille Ferguson Williams; and his sister, Jacqueline Reynolds. Ron enjoyed life to its fullest and had a great love for his family. He will continue to live in the hearts of those who loved him. He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Cora Ann Clark Williams. He is also survived by his five beloved children, Bryan, Jason, Linda, Marjorie and Robert; their spouses; fifteen grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Ron served in the military with the US Army at Ft. Benning GA.  After military service, he worked in the Contract Furniture Industry in Sales, Management, and Marketing. His employers included Allsteel, Monarch Furniture, Henricksen and most recently Landgraf’s until his retirement in 2008. He especially enjoyed fishing, gardening, genealogy, the Cubs, Bears, Bulls and Blackhawks. He was also a great lover of animals.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 from 10 am to 12 pm at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S Broadway in Montgomery. Service will begin following visitation on Wednesday at 12 pm also at Dieterle Memorial Home. Interment private.

Following her time at Vendo, she was employed at Fermilab at a Lab Technician for 10 years and ending her career at Old Post School working in the Cafeteria for over 2 years.  She enjoyed reading, drawing, painting but most of all she enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Anita is survived by 4 daughters; Sherri (Chris) Smith, Teresa (Dave) Swanson, Brenda (Doug) Poker and Linda Keating. 3 brothers; Dennis (the late Linda) Alsip, Steven (Kathy) Alsip, Gary (the late Julie), and 4 sisters; Janice (the late Chuck) Armstrong, Barb (Joe) Zakosek, Frances (Dale) Perdelwitz and Cathy (the late Larry) Anderson. 11 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Anita is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 45 years Thomas and 2 sisters; Maxine (the late Benny) Shaw and Geraldine Alsip. Obituary Preview: Suzanne “Sue” Glassgold, of Aurora, IL passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday June 27, 2022.  She was born in Ithaca, New York on November 26, 1940. Sue graduated from West Aurora High School in 1958 and attended Cornell University in Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Laurie Anderson, and her parents Burnhart (Bip) and Dottie Glassgold.
She is survived by her daughter Debbie (Craig) Krause, her granddaughter Kayla Taylor and her fiancée Maxwell Hively, her grandson Connor Taylor, and her former son-in-law Mike (Kathleen) Taylor and several cousins.
Sue had many close friends and neighbors who she cherished thru the years. Sue will always be remembered for her love and passion of antiques and refinishing them. She was very artistic and loved finding new hobbies to enjoy.  Her favorite times were gatherings with her family and friends.

In 1956 she married Clarence Nelson, they had 6 boys.  For many years she was a dedicated employee at Western Electric. She had a passion for quilting, sewing, gardening and crafting. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. The untimely passing of her husband in 1978 left her to raise her 6 boys on her own. She became self-taught, strong and independent. She loved her family fiercely and will be dearly missed by all.
She is survived by her sons; Clarence “Art” (Linda) Nelson, Randy (Cheryl) Nelson, Terry (Debbie) Nelson, Scott (Angie) Nelson, Dennis Nelson, daughter-in-law, Dara Nelson; 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and sisters, Sharon (the late Frank) Brummel and Peggy (Dan) Hill. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Clarence Nelson; son, David Nelson; sister, Charlene Ratterree and brother, Norman Hage.

On St. Patrick’s Day he could be found in the kitchen with Lisa making corned beef for neighbors and friends alike. He was known for his sub sandwich and bloody Mary bar that could cure any hangover. Above all things in life, he loved time spent with family and friends. He touched the lives of all who knew him.
He is survived by his children; Justin (Sarah) Bower, Juliana (Harry) Rosenberg, Sarah Jones, Erin (Bryan) Joseph, and Beth (Nicholas) Hanchar; siblings, Richard (Julia) Beamish, Patricia Beamish, Jack (Carly) Beamish, Chris (Ruth) Beamish, Cammie (Omar) Farooq and Mike (Robin) Beamish; grandchildren, Cole and Alyssa Rosenberg, Lucy and Niko Tena, Julian and Jaeda Joseph- Harden, and Bryce Bower. He is preceded in death by his parents and beloved wife Lisa.

Obituary Preview: Richard (Rich) Walter Seib passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, June 20, 2022.  He was 75.
Rich was born on July 9, 1946, in Las Vegas, Nevada. In 1947, he moved with his parents to his father's hometown of Aurora, Illinois.  He attended St. Paul's Lutheran School, East Aurora High School,  Mayfair Community College, Northern Illinois University and Roosevelt University. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Roosevelt University in 1970.
He served in the US Army Reserves and was honorably discharged in 1975.
While at Northern Illinois University, he started dating Carol Caldarelli and they married in 1971.  Three years later they welcomed their daughter Jennifer and son Michael in 1978.
Rich was passionate about his family and friends, art, photography and writing.  He loved meeting new people and visiting new places. His experiences inspired the books that he would later write. He published several novels and his files contained numerous ideas for more.  As a natural story-teller, Rich would recount all the people that he met during his travels as a veteran sales representative as well as over the years with family and friends.
Rich is survived by his wife of over 50 years Carol Seib, daughter Jennifer (Dan) Foster, son Michael Seib, sister Sharon Ream, several nephews and nieces, his beloved grandchildren Danny and Emily and countless extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Ruth Seib, brother James Seib, Brother-in-law James Ream and nephew Eric Ream.
A visitation will be held at Dieterle Memorial Home, 1120 S. Broadway, Montgomery Illinois, on Monday, June 27, 2022, from 4 to 7pm.  The funeral will be Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at 10am at Dieterle Memorial Home with a burial to follow at St. Paul's Lutheran cemetery.

He proudly served his country in the US Army stationed in Korea. He has been a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Montgomery, IL for 60 plus years, where he lovingly served his Lord by holding many different offices and many different roles within the church. Ray was a Certified Public Accountant, he had his own business in his home where he
prepared income tax returns for hundreds in the area.  He was highly praised in both of these roles. He enjoyed spending time with his family and many friends and was an avid bowler winning multiple trophies. Ray will truly be missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents Cruz and Laurencia; his wife Aurelia, 2 brothers Miguel (Socorro), Gabriel (the late Amalia); 2 sisters Catarina (the late Jesus) Gomez and Maria Del Refugio (the late Miguel) Rodriquez; 2 sons Erasmo and Luis; 3 daughters Rosa Elvia, Rosa Elia and Yolanda. Obituary Preview: Miguel F. Gomez Sr. was known to his family and friends as Mickey, spelled M-I-C-K-E-Y- like the mouse he would tell people. He came into this world on January 5, 1958. Born in Aurora, IL to Andres Gomez Felix and Frances Eleanor Suk, Mickey was a loud and funny Polish Puerto Rican. He was especially fond of his Puerto Rican heritage- the food, the music, and the beautiful town of Yabucoa, Puerto Rico where he lived many of his childhood years. Mickey would fill up a room with his presence and is well known for his many funny sayings like, “Que Cara!” and tall tales. He was a faith filled Catholic man and always made sure to say “I love you. God Bless you.” to each of his loved ones when ending a conversation or visit. Although for many years he was unable to work, he was notably proud of the work he did at Burgess Norton where he was a machine operator. He kept busy and loved spending time with his family. He was a loving Grandfather to all his grandchildren and was very excited about becoming a Great-Grandfather this summer. Mickey was proceeded into heaven by both his parents, sister Lisa Gomez-Salmon and his brothers Andres Gomez Jr. and Richard Gomez. He is survived by his three sons Miguel F. Gomez, JR. (Maxine Gomez), Daniel A. Gomez (Cassandra Flores) and Mario F. Gomez; his grandchildren Miguel L. Gomez, Naomi M. Gomez, Destiny N. Gomez, Keith A. Johnson II, Andrew R. Gomez, and Alexander F. Gomez; his siblings Sharon Stevens, Andrea Madrigal, Frank Gomez, and Rosemary Gomez-Leeker; and countless loving nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and friends.
