Theodore "Ted" M. Enoch - June 05, 1934 - October 26, 2023

Obituary Preview: Theodore M. “Ted” Enoch, 89, a lifelong resident of Cutler, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on October 26, 2023, at Milner Community Health Care in Rossville.
Born June 5, 1934, in Cutler, Ted was the son of William J. and Ruby “Lois” (Larimore) Enoch.  He graduated from Cutler High School in 1952.  On November 22, 1953, he married his high school sweetheart, Nancy A. Mill.  She passed away April 28, 2017.
After his honorable discharge from the US Army in 1960, Ted worked at Alcoa for 35 years, then for Purdue University for 12 years before retiring.  He also farmed for many years.  He was a member of Cutler Presbyterian Church, Alcoa 25-year Club, served on the Democrat Township Trustee Advisory Board for 30 years, and Rossville Masonic Lodge where he served as Past Master and had been a Mason for 60 plus years.  He also served on the Cutler Volunteer Fire Department and was chief for 50 years.  Ted enjoyed woodworking, lawn care, flower gardening, and farming.
Ted is survived by his son, Jim (Kristin) Enoch of Burlington; son-in-law, Curtis McGrew of Camden; grandchildren, Christopher (Megan) McGrew, Madison (Jarrid) Robertson, Riley Enoch, Hannah Enoch, and Emily Goltz; great-grandchildren, Maren and Cayson McGrew and Cohen and Carter Robertson; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; son, Jeffery Enoch; and daughter, Jody McGrew.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 2, 2023, from 4 to 7pm at Day & Genda Funeral Home ~ Bodine Chapel in Rossville.  The funeral service will be Friday, November 3, 2023, 11am at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at Rossville Cemetery. Memorials in Ted’s honor may be made to Cutler Fire Department.

Jerry L. Cool - September 23, 1944 - October 19, 2023

Obituary Preview: Jerry L. Cool, 79, Rossville, passed away, Thursday, October 19, 2023, at Franciscan Hospital in Lafayette.  Jerry was born September 23, 1944, in Gary to Kenneth and Elizabeth “Betty” (Dara) Cool, Sr.  He married Judith Harger on October 5, 1968, and she survives.
Jerry was graduate of Merrillville High School in 1963.  He worked as a Mechanical Millwright for National Steel Midwest Division for 32 years until his retirement in 2003.  After his retirement, he worked odds and ends jobs, mowing yards at Angel Hill Golf Course and groundskeeper at Prophetstown State Park, among other things to keep busy.  He enjoyed duck hunting, conversing, and telling jokes to anyone he met.  He loved his family dearly and loved spending time with family and making memories.
Along with his wife of 55 years, Jerry is survived by his children, Kelly (Kevin) Mills, Sarah (Brandon) Winters, and Christopher (Ashley) Cool; brother, Ron Cool; eight grandchildren, Katelyn, Zoe, Carson, Kai, Dru, Katie, Caden, and Trevor; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Kenneth Cool, Jr.; a sister, Sue Ratajec; and a nephew, Gary Cool.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, November 4, 2023, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. EST at Rossville Presbyterian Church, 5434 W. Bill Abbott - May 10, 1937 - October 09, 2023

Obituary Preview: Bill J. Abbott, 86, of Rossville, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of October 9, 2023, at Franciscan Heath - Lafayette East. He was born to Cecil and Jessie (Likens) Abbott on May 10, 1937, in Lebanon, IN.
Bill was an honorary alumnus of Colfax High School. He joined the Air Force in 1954 and after serving, was married and attended Indiana Barber School in Indianapolis where he earned his barber license. Bill would always say he got his true education at the School of Hard Knocks.
In early life, Bill enjoyed playing basketball and played at the Boys Club in Frankfort. He also had a passion for the game of golf. Bill enjoyed spending his free time painting and was a gifted artist. He owned and operated Abbott’s Barber Shop for many years in Frankfort before gaining his insurance license and opening a Mutual of Omaha Insurance Agency. While an insurance agent, he met and then married Marilyn Shively on July 2, 1977; she survives.
In 1988, Bill and Marilyn relocated to Florida where he opened another barber shop and earned his auctioneer license. He was always proud of the fact that he auctioneered at a charity event for the Orlando Magic and Disney World. From Florida, he relocated in 2008 to Cookeville, TN and ultimately returned to his Indiana “roots” in 2016. Bill had a God given talent of playing the organ and guitar and would play music by ear. Additionally, he was a third-degree Mason in the Frankfort Lodge. Bill attended church at the Rossville Bible Fellowship Church. Bill loved his friends and family very much and he never met a stranger.
Surviving in addition to his wife and two children who were born from his first marriage, Michael S. (Jennifer) Abbott of Crawfordsville, IN and Laura M. (David Hackett) Cohen of Jamestown, IN are his grandchildren, Samuel Abbott (Jennifer Kozy), Zoe Abbott, Ryan Cohen (Brittany Dodson), Lauren (Cory) Sears , and Adria Cohen; great grandchildren, Eli and Asher Cohen, Caison, Rylee, Parker, and Barrett Sears and Vivian Abbott; brothers, Richard (Carolyn) Abbott of Frankfort, Larry (Shirley) Abbott of Zionsville, and Danny (Peggy) Abbott of Rossville; mother-in-law, Evelyn Shively Sarver; sisters in law, Patty and Vickie Shively of Rossville; brother-in-law, Donald (Kara)  Shively; and many, many nieces and nephews.
Bill is also preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Alvin Shively; son-in-law, Michael Cohen; sisters, Lucille (Charlie) Allen and Barbara (Eddie) Piscador; brother, Terry (Nesta) Abbott; and his first-born grandson, Nicholas Abbott Cohen.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 13, 2023, from 10am until the start of the funeral service at 1pm at Day & Genda Funeral Home - Bodine Chapel in Rossville. Pastors Chris Albin and Dan Abbott will officiate. Richard "Rich" Lynn Roth - August 04, 1945 - October 03, 2023

Obituary Preview: Richard “Rich” Lynn Roth, 78, of Rossville, Indiana, passed peacefully on to be with his Lord on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at his home.  Rich was born on August 4, 1945, to Henry and Olive (Davis) Roth.  He graduated from Rossville High School in 1963.  He married his high school sweetheart, Kathie “KT” Thorp on September 3, 1965.  Rich and KT had two children, a daughter, SharmaLe, and a son, Richard “Ric” Gerald.  Ric preceded Rich in death on May 10, 2013.  Also, preceding him in death was his brother, Gerald Roth.
Surviving are his wife, KT Roth; his sister, Patty Cohee; his brother, Dallas Roth; his daughter, Sharma Brenneman (Dennis Aldridge); grandsons, Derek (Kristen), Luke, and Ethan Brenneman, all of Rossville.  Also surviving are his great-grandchildren, Elyse, Sadie, and Waylon Richard Brenneman (Derek & Kristen).
After a very successful basketball career at Rossville High School, Rich received a scholarship offer to continue his basketball journey at Butler University.  He decided the big city was not for him, so he transferred to Purdue for his second semester of freshman year, where he played on the Purdue Men’s Basketball Freshman Team.  By 1966, Rich knew that he wanted to pursue the career field of heavy equipment construction.  The last 30 years of his career he spent as a foreman for a crew at Mohr Construction in Kokomo. Rich had a kind, loving spirit about him and always took pride in the best things of life, including his faith in his Savior, his family, his Mustang, the farm which has been in the family since 1866, and auto racing.  His love for auto racing was evident in his attendance of the Indianapolis 500 for 60 plus years consecutively.  Race days were more than just a sporting event for Rich, but a time to spend with his race family.  His dedication to racing earned him the nickname “Papa Goo.”
Rich’s memorial service will be held at the Rossville Presbyterian Church on Friday, October 13, 2023.  Calling will be from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.  A Celebration of Life service will follow at 7:00 p.m.

Obituary Preview: Harold Addison Miller, 98, of Lafayette, passed away peacefully Saturday, September 23, 2023, at Mulberry Health and Retirement.  He was born March 5, 1925, in Cerro Gordo, IL to Russell and Dora “Fern” (Wilkie) Miller.  He married Lois Wagoner on September 8, 1946.  She preceded him in death.
Harold was a master craftsman and owned Harold Miller Construction of Greater Lafayette and surrounding areas, where he built and designed homes.  Harold was a kind, caring man, that took care of his neighbors, and enjoyed being social and making friends.  He also enjoyed dancing, golfing, fishing, boating and water skiing, and loved building things and doing home projects with and for his family, that he loved above all other things.
Harold is survived by his children, Malinda (Rick Stark) Hannah, Muriel (David) Grimes, and Ron (Kim) Miller; grandchildren, Jennifer Armitage, Jeff Hannah, Bethany Stangle, Pat Grimes, Russ Grimes, Julie Boles, Joe Grimes, Jayme Haas, Trevor Miller, and Mason Miller; 21 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.
Along with his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; three sisters; and son-in-law, Mike Hannah.

Kessler, 98, of Marion, formerly of Rossville, passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at her daughter’s home in Marion. She was born on February 6, 1925, in Cerro Gordo, Illinois, to Abe H. and Lizzie (Wagoner) Miller.  She married Calvin D. Kessler on April 27, 1947: he preceded her in death on June 6, 2006.
Faye was a farm wife, a competent keeper of the home, and a faithful helpmate to her husband. She and her husband managed rental properties over the years. She was a longtime member of the Cutler Ridge Old German Baptist New Conference Church.
Surviving Faye are a daughter, Barbara (Melvin) Royer of Marion; son, Julian Kessler of Rossville; and a sister-in-law, Marilyn Gascho of Mulberry.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Calvin; brother, Robert Miller and Elmer (Margaret) Miller; and brothers-in-law, Carroll (Charlene) Kessler and Raymond Gascho.
Visitation will be Saturday, September 23, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Cutler Ridge Old German Baptist New Conference Church. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at North Fork Old German Baptist Brethren Cemetery. The home brethren will officiate the graveside service.

Obituary Preview: Linda L. Tolan, 67, Rossville, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, September 15, 2023.  She was born September 3, 1956, in Indianapolis to Tom Staten and MaryLou (McMillian) Joiner.  She married Harold “Dale” Tolan on March 23, 1974, in Indianapolis, and he survives.
Linda was a 1974 graduate of Ben Davis High School. She made a living helping prepare taxes.  She enjoyed playing Bingo and going to the casinos and riverboats.  But the majority of her time was spent with family.  She enjoyed playing games with her grandchildren and making memories with her husband and children.  Linda was a strong-willed woman that loved taking care of those around her.
Along with her husband of 49 years, Linda is survived by her children, Christy (Kurtis) Schaefer and Nicholas (Maria) Tolan; father, Tom (Jean Persinger) Staten; sisters, Carol Garza and Tammy (Craig) Dreyovich; and four grandchildren, Nathan and Alex Schaefer and Carter and Lucas Tolan.
She was preceded in death by her mother; a brother Larry Cecil; sister, Jo Joiner and stepfather, Doyce Joiner.

Larry Dean Reed - October 18, 1942 - August 11, 2023

Obituary Preview: Larry Dean Reed passed away on Friday, August 11, 2023 after a year-long battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Larry was born to parents Roy and Edith Reed on October 18, 1942, in Frankfort, Indiana. He graduated from Frankfort High School and earned two degrees from Purdue University including an Associate in Applied Science with distinction in Aviation Maintenance Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Supervision. Larry married Alta Louise Chezem from Rossville in June of 1964 and they had three children, Amy, Gregg and Ryan.
He worked in a variety of careers with Detroit Diesel-Allison, Honeywell, St. Vincent Hospital. American Family Insurance and retired after 25 years from the West Lafayette School Corporation where he was the Supervisor of Buildings and Grounds.
In his personal time, he enjoyed fishing, playing the banjo, working on cars, woodworking, playing cards, and dancing with his bride. He had a solution-oriented mind and was meticulous in how he approached getting things done. He also enjoying spending the Indiana winters in sunny Naples, Florida where he served on the Board of Directors at Moorhead Manor.
Larry loved spending time with his family and friends and is survived by his wife, Alta Reed, Daughter, Amy Will (Husband, Paul), Son, Gregg Reed (Wife, Mary Ann), Son Ryan Reed (Wife, Alicia), and five grandchildren Lexi Reed, Laci Reed, Harrison Kossover, Liam Reed and Aubree Reed.
He is preceded in death by brother Allan Reed.
Visitation will take place, Tuesday, August 15, 2023, from 11am until the time of the service at 1pm at Day & Genda Funeral Home ~ Bodine Chapel.  Burial will follow at Fair Haven Cemetery.

Davis on November 11, 1989, at Oxford, Indiana; he preceded her in death on September 30, 1996.
Pat was a 1965 graduate of Clinton Prairie High School.  She worked at State Farm in West Lafayette as an underwriting assistant for 35 plus years. She enjoyed shopping, reading, and traveling but more importantly enjoyed spending time with her family and her dogs, Holly and Dodger.
Pat is survived by her sister, Linda B. (Dale) Ward of Lafayette and Karen S. Jaggers of Lebanon; brother, Timothy R. Hitch of Greenfield; and several nieces and nephews on both sides.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Pamela F. McDowell; and a brother-in-law, Wink Jaggers.

Connie Kay Hinesley - January 05, 1940 - June 22, 2023

Obituary Preview: Connie Kay Hinesley, 83, of Rossville, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2023, at St. Vincent Ascension Hospital in Indianapolis.  Connie was born on January 5, 1940, in Lebanon to Carl R. and Helen L. (Dilworth) Couden.  She married Don R. Hinesley on April 29, 1962, at Rossville Methodist Church.  He survives.
Connie was a graduate of Frankfort High School in 1957 and later graduated in 1960 from the Methodist Hospital School of Nursing.  She worked at Lafayette Home Hospital from 1963 to 1972, was a nurse for Dr. Fred Flora Medical office, and then a registered nurse at Clinton County Hospital for 25 years with Dr. Steven Tharp medical office before retiring in 2004.  She was a member of Rossville United Methodist Church where she served on the Pastor-Parish Committee, sang in the choir, and was very involved at church.  She served on the Milner Community Health Care Board for 6 years and was a founding member of the Rossville Foundation Board.  Connie had a caring heart and enjoyed serving others.  She volunteered for hospice and visited with hospice patients and was active in helping with WeCare. She enjoyed exercising three days a week since her retirement, but above all, she loved her family and enjoyed traveling with her husband, and spending time with her children and grandchildren and being supportive in all they participated in.
Along with her husband of 61 years, Connie is survived by her sons, Mark (Betsy) and Robert Hinesley; sister, Nancy (Don) Hufford; and grandsons, Nathaniel, Luke, and Matthew Hinesley.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Carol Scott.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 30, 2023, from 4-7pm at Day & Genda Funeral Home ~ Bodine Chapel.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 1, 2023, at 10am at Rossville United Methodist Church.  Pastor Bob Raschka and Allen Weldy will officiate.  Burial will follow at Rossville Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made in Connie’s honor to Rossville United Methodist Church or Rossville Church of the Brethren. Donna Ruth Graves - July 21, 1936 - June 19, 2023

Obituary Preview: Donna Ruth Graves, 86, of Rossville, went to be with the Lord on June 19, 2023, at Franciscan Hospital surrounded by her family.  She was born July 21, 1936, in Lima, OH, to Dowl E. and Jessie A. (Carmack) Colvin.  She was the youngest of three.  She married Harold Graves in Logansport on December 9, 1952.  He survives.
Donna graduated from Rossville High School.  She worked as a switchboard operator, waitress, secretary and bookkeeper for the family business, Graves Construction, Graves Rentals and Manzana.  She enjoyed reading, Tri-chem painting for senior skirts and pants, making ceramics as gifts, growing roses, traveling and going gambling at Las Vegas and Indiana, Michigan and Illinois casinos, and catching the big fish while holding the pole for her husband.  But above all, her greatest passion was her family.  She was a homemaker most of the time her children were in school, and was always there waiting when they came home.  Family came first for her.
Along with her husband of 71 years, Donna is survived by her children, Tom (Diane) Graves and Nanci Graves; grandchildren, Mike, Jammie, Christena, Stephanie and Stacy; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild on the way.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings, Ted Colvin, Eileen Dey, and Don Colvin; and a grandchild, Bradley Graves.

Timothy Robinson - December 13, 1968 - June 16, 2023

Obituary Preview: Timothy Gene Robinson left us unexpectedly on June 16, 2023 at the age of 54. He was born in Lafayette, IN on December 13, 1968, to Ernest E. and Patricia A. Robinson. He graduated from Lafayette Jeff High School in 1987 and then attended Purdue University. He worked at Subaru Automotive for 26 years. He married his soulmate Holly (Harshbarger) Robinson on November 16, 2012 and she survives.
Tim loved to laugh and have fun more than anything. Even if it meant dropping dollars at the casino playing games. He was competitive with family games, could never hold a tune while singing karaoke, but  always made sure everyone had a good time and laughed with him. He enjoyed watching the Chicago Bears and Purdue basketball/football. He loved being outdoors, soaking up the sun while cooking on the grill. Vacationing with his wife is what he enjoyed the most. His children and grandchildren brought him lots of happiness and pride. Surviving along with his wife are his children: Daughters: Emily Robinson of Monticello, Anna Robinson of Auburn, and Kelsey (Cade) Wellman of Michigantown. Son: Logan Spears of Rossville. Grandchildren: Hunter and Brixton Wellman of Michigantown
Also surviving are his parents Ernest E. and Patricia A. Robinson of Lafayette. Brother: Anthony (Sabrina) Robinson of Lafayette. Brother-in-laws: Shannon (Heather) Harshbarger of Rossville and Ryan (Holly) Harshbarger of Sheridan. Father and Mother in-law, Kevin and Jenny Harshbarger of Rossville. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceded in death by: Paternal grandparents Ernest and Ethel Robinson and maternal grandmother Jean Cook and nephew Billy Robinson.

Alberta Crumpacker - October 28, 1927 - May 29, 2023

Obituary Preview: Alberta Lucille (Miller) Crumpacker, daughter of Jesse and Rosa (Wagoner) Miller was born October 28, 1927, at home, near Pyrmont Indiana. She peacefully departed this life May 29, making her stay on earth 95 years, 7 months, and 1 day.
On January 5, 1947, she married Everett Crumpacker at her parent's home, by Elder Jakie Skiles. They enjoyed 68 years together before Daddy passed away on August 2, 2015. To this union was born one son and two daughters: Laverne and wife Navella; Rose Anna and husband Byron Haney; and Renita and husband Roger Miller.
Mother answered the call, and was baptized by elder Morris Wagoner, into the Old German Baptist Church along with five others. She faithfully served the Lord till her death. Daddy and Mother were called to the deacon's office in 1967 in the North Fork district. Daddy and Mother started their married life at Flora, Indiana. They lived there for three years giving half of everything that they earned. They then moved to
Colburn Indiana for three years before they moved to the farm near Pyrmont Indiana. In 1988 they moved off the farm into Rossville. In 2020 Mother fell and broke her hip choosing to move to Milner Health Care where she passed into eternity.
In addition to her children, Mother is survived by 9 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Mother was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Everett; brother, Lloyd Miller; sister Gladys (Jesse) Endress; her in-laws, Albert and Anna Crumpacker; a sister-in-law Vera (Lloyd) Beeghley; and a granddaughter Stephanie Miller.
Mother was known by her loving disposition, always caring about other's and never complaining. She enjoyed singing, even up till the last. A very special thank you to the loving staff at Milner Health Care for their compassionate care. We will greatly miss Mother, but our loss is her eternal gain.

Harold Lee Mohler - November 30, 1930 - May 19, 2023

Obituary Preview: Harold Lee Mohler of Rossville, Indiana passed away May 19, 2023, at Milner Community Health Care in Rossville. He was born November 30, 1930, to Harry and Dora(Royer) Mohler, near Flora, Indiana. He married Margaret Cripe on October 4, 1953, near Rossville. They were married more than 68 years, until her death in 2022. To this union were born four children: Keith, Janice, Karen, and Ronda.
Harold attended Carrolton Township School, then worked in a hospital in Terre Haute, Indiana to fulfill his CO work after he and Mom were married. He farmed near Mulberry, Indiana for many years, raising corn, soybeans, livestock, and tomatoes.
He was baptized with a group of ten others at Middle Fork and became a member of the Old German Baptist Church on October 14, 1951, to which he remained faithful.  On September 23, 2022, Harold asked to be anointed, from which he received much comfort.
Harold is survived by his daughters, Janice(Ohmer) Etter of Delphi, Karen(Larry) Wray of Baldwin City, KS, Ronda(Galen) Bowman of Shelby, MI; brothers, Melvin(Eva) Mohler, Marvin(Kathryn) Mohler of Zillah, WA; sister-in-law Evelyn Cripe of Rossville; 23 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, Harold was preceded in death by his son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Linda Mohler and an infant sister.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 23 from 3-5 and 6-8 pm at Middle Fork Old German Baptist Church. The funeral service will be Wednesday, May 24 at 10 am at the church with the home brethren officiating. Burial will follow in Middle Fork Old German Baptist cemetery.
Dad and Mom spent 30 winters in Florida, where they made many warm friendships. Recently they moved to Milner Community Health Care where they were blessed to get to know more friends and caregivers. He will be greatly missed by family, friends, and community.

Chris worked as an ag and heavy equipment mechanic for many of the area ag providers.  For the last 10 years, he had his own repair service K & K Repair. While working on machinery and repairing was his passion, he enjoyed being outdoors and fishing.  He loved his family, especially his grandchildren.
Along with his wife of 40 years, Chris is survived by his daughters, Mollie (Allen) Osborn and Mandie (Adam) Hollinger; brother, Michael (Wanda) Kinzie; and 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Janessa Hollinger.

She was born on August 29, 1951, to the late Albert and Mary (Smithwick)  Ritchie. She married Daniel Luce Jr. on December 9, 1972, in Michigan, who preceded her in death on January 3, 2022.
Cel had worked at NHK for over 25 years as a quality control associate. In her free time Cel had a true knack for woodworking and construction. She accomplished large projects single handedly ranging from outdoor patios to gazebos. She was known for being the “Jack of all trades, and master of all.” Cel had a true gift for being a seamstress, painter, photographer, and much more. There was no project or hobby that intimidated her, she was able to do anything that she set her mind to.
Surviving Cecilia are her children; Chris (Rebecca) Luce, Angela (Matthew) Anslover, siblings; Russell Ritchie, and Randall Ritchie, grandchildren; Krystin Gillis, Kit Luce, Bailey Luce, Nichole Luce, Alex Gillis, Ashley Williams, Destiny Metzger, Allyssa Anslover, and Cheyenne Anslover, and a Great- grandchild; Amelia Luce.

Pee-Wee worked at Venetian Blind for several years in Lafayette, and later went on to start his own lawn care business called Country Boy Lawn Care, where he dedicated over 10 years of service to. Pee-Wee later went on to retire after being a true “Jack of all trades” to most that knew him.
When Phillip wasn’t working, he had a true passion for riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He loved to spend time with friends, and he loved to live on the edge. He was especially known for his unique personality, and his witty sense of humor.
Surviving  Phillip are his daughters; Shannon Miller and Amber Miller (Swearingen), Sister; Glenda Klaiber, Grandchildren Cody (Whitney) Jacobs, Lorren Jacobs, Gracie Adsit, and Kaleb Adsit, along with a great grandchild; Colton Jacobs.
Phillip was preceded in death by his son, Jared Miller. She was born in Frankfort on November 17, 1950, to George and Phyllis (Stephenson) McDaniel. She married Charles William Huffer in Rossville; he preceded her in death on January 19, 2004.
Deb was a 1969 graduate of Rossville High School. She attended the Monticello Christian Church and formerly attended the Rossville United Methodist Church. Deb was an entrepreneur and co-founded “Balloons By Gosh” and Real Estate Network in Monticello. She was a member of the Monticello Realtors Association and was a Realtor®. A longtime favorite thing to do was to go “Catfishing on Fridays” With great friends.
Deb loved Elvis, Clint Eastwood, Car shows, Indy 500, Corvettes, holidays, shopping, and traveling, but more importantly, she enjoyed spending time with her family and grandson. She was always very close to her mother in everything  they did.
Deb is survived by her mother Phyllis McDaniel of Monticello; sons, Chad (Kristin) Huffer of Woodstock, GA and Clint William Huffer of Lafayette; brother, Stephen (Edna) McDaniel of Flora; grandson, Rex Randall Huffer of Woodstock; nieces, Angela (Scott) Bieghler of Delphi, Jennifer (Brett) Scruggs of Attica, and Jacqueline McDaniel of Madison; great nieces and nephews, Jarred Daniels and Jacob Daghir of Madison, Abi and Sam Bieghler of Delphi, and Taylor Scruggs of Attica; and a host of many great friends.
She was preceded in death by her father and husband.

Obituary Preview: Joe Howard Metzger, 81, of Rossville passed away on April 5, 2023, after a brief illness. He was born July 23, 1941, in Edna Mills, Indiana to Lloyd and Mary Metzger. They, along with his brother, Richard, and beloved daughter Missi all left this Earth before him. Joe was a loving husband to Jackie for 60 years; an exemplary father to his children Missi, Mandi (Jeff) Pennington, and Ty (Sara); a kind and generous grandfather to Payne, Paige (Joe) Heeb, Edie, and Jack; and a joyous great-grandfather to Elias. He was a reliable and helpful brother to Richard, Janet, and Karen; and a good friend to those who knew him. Joe was an avid golfer and shared the game with everyone in his family. He cherished the golf scrambles he played with his daughters and son-in-law. He enjoyed playing Michigan golf courses with his grandson, and he enjoyed traveling with his son on golf adventures around the country. Joe also loved to travel and went on many vacations with Jackie right up until the end. Although he loved travel, he loved his hometown of Rossville even more. He devoted countless hours to coaching youth basketball and baseball. Unbeknownst to 46 male and female recipients of the Phil Buck Athletic Scholarship from 1983 through 2006, Joe was the sole benefactor. He also impacted lives in the high school by substitute teaching well into his 70s. To know Joe was to love him. He was the genuine article, and the type of guy you don't see often anymore. He was honest, hardworking, generous, funny, and exceptionally kind. He was a model for his children and grandchildren on how to be a good parent and spouse. He loved a good crossword puzzle, cryptoquote, or sudoku, and especially with his loyal buddy Jasper sitting with him on the recliner. He spent every minute of his life loving his family with his whole heart. When he'd lived life to its fullest, and drank all the Budweiser he felt he needed, he decided to rest. Barbara  was an award winning cheerleader and graduated from Monitor High School. Barbara had attended Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Lafayette. She had de-tasseled corn in her early years then worked for Schnaible Drugstore, McClure Drugstore, Superior Resistor, and Andover. Barbara loved to mow her yard and swim in her pool, enjoyed flowers, walking at the mall, and being outdoors but more importantly, she enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Barbara is survived by a son, Kenneth (Cheryl) Suter of Lafayette; daughter, Candace (Jerry) Silverthorn of Rossville; grandchildren, Scott (Gina) Silverthorn, Andy (Jessica) Silverthorn, Lori (Josh) Hodgson, Kate (John) Misustin, Emily (Ryan) Gorman, Austin Suter, and Creighton Suter; great grandchildren, Corey, Samantha, Megan, Brody, Luke, Abby, Caleb, Isaiah, Grace, Max, and Maggie.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Laurel; daughter, Brenda  Neudecker, son-in-law, Phil Neudecker; brother, Glenn Remaly; sister, Wathena Shively; grandson, Eliot Suter; and great granddaughter, Courtney Silverthorn.

Obituary Preview: Mildred A. Morrison, 93, of Rossville, passed away April 4, 2023, at IU Arnett Hospital in Lafayette following a brief illness.
Mildred was born October 26, 1929, in Gainesville, Florida, to Herman and Mildred “Lucille” (Rainey) Stafford.  She was also raised by her stepfather, Obie Stafford.
Mildred’s family moved from Florida to Kentucky, before making their home in Indiana in 1936.  After a few years living in Burlington, they moved to Rossville, where Mildred graduated from Rossville High School in 1944.  Mildred worked for Jules’ L. Simon in Frankfort from 1944 to 1977. She then worked for 18 years as an inspector at Landis-Gyr before retiring in 1993 and for 10 years at the Hornet’s Nest.  She was a member of the Rossville Bible Fellowship.
Mildred married James Richard Morrison on June 30, 1951, and he preceded her in death on June 2, 1965.
Surviving Mildred are her daughters, Anita (Rick) Young of Lafayette and Linda Stingley of Rossville; grandchildren, Amy (Eric) Baker of Lafayette, Melinda (Kevin) Miller of Cutler, and Brooke (Bryan) Wagoner of Lafayette; great-grandchildren, Haven Baker, Kaylee Baker, McKenna Baker, Jaxson Miller, and Emery Wagoner; brother, Frank (Sharon) Stafford of Rossville; sister, Patricia (Robert) Wells of Delphi; brother-in-law, Don (Teresa) Morrison of Frankfort; a niece and several nephews; and a longtime friend, Janet Zuther of Rossville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James; and a great aunt, Ruby (James) Stewart.

Carol Diane Metzger - April 23, 1948 - March 01, 2023

Obituary Preview: Carol Diane Metzger, 74, of rural Mulberry, passed away on March 1, 2023, at Wellbrooke of Kokomo.
Born April 23, 1948, in Monett, Missouri, Carol was the daughter of Leonard C. and Maxine R. (Huffmaster) Montgomery.  She grew up in the Fairview, Missouri, area and was a 1966 graduate of Triway (Missouri) High School.  She attended Crowder Junior College in Neosho, Missouri, and received her Associate of Arts degree in 1968.  In 1970, she received her Bachelor of Science degree from Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, Missouri.  She later earned her Masters Degree in Education from Indiana University Kokomo.
After moving to Frankfort, Indiana, in August 1971, Carol met Ned Metzger, and they married August 10, 1974, in Fairview, Missouri.  They moved to the Mulberry area in 1976.
Carol began her teaching career by teaching 5th grade in Pierce City, Missouri from 1969 to 1971.  After moving to Frankfort, she was hired by Clinton Prairie Schools, where she taught for 36 years.  Her first 14 years were in 4th grade at Jefferson Elementary before moving to Clinton Prairie Elementary, where she taught 7 years in 4th grade and 15 years in 5th grade.  She retired from teaching in May 2007.
A former member of Rossville United Methodist Church, Carol served as their pianist for many years.  She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Lafayette.  She enjoyed attending Bible Study Fellowship where she was a group leader, driving the combine during corn harvest, working crossword puzzles, reading, camping, and was a Chicago Cubs and Purdue Boilermaker fan.
Surviving Carol is Ned, her loving husband of 48 years; her mother, Maxine Montgomery; a brother, Glenn (Deborah) Montgomery; a sister-in-law, Janet (Ron) Burkhalter; three nephews, Justin (Jennifer) Montgomery, Jason Montgomery, and Brad (Melissa) Burkhalter; and one niece, Reneé (Bart) Miller.
She was preceded in death by her father, Leonard Montgomery and grandparents, Oscar & Elizabeth Montgomery and James & Zenver Huffmaster.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 5, 2023, from 2pm to 5pm at Day & Genda Funeral Home~Bodine Chapel in Rossville.  A funeral service will be Monday, March 6, 2023, at 11am also at the funeral home, with Pastor Mike Vauters officiating. Reuel "Buck" Crum - March 07, 1938 - February 25, 2023

Obituary Preview: Reuel “Buck” Marcus Crum, 84, of Rossville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at Milner Community Health Care in Rossville. He was born to Paul M. and Helen I. (Wingler) Crum on March 7, 1938, in Clinton County, IN. He married Alice Ritchie on August 12, 2006; she survives.
Buck graduated in 1956 from Rossville High School. He was a long-time farmer and had received several awards over the years. In 1958, he received the American Farmer’s Degree. In the 1970’s, Buck received the Honorary Chapter Farmer’s Degree from Carroll County High School. In the 1990’s, he received the Chapter Farmer’s Degree from Rossville High School. Because of Buck’s love of the farm. He enjoyed refurbishing several antique tractors over the years.
Buck had served on the Geetingsville Telephone Company Board for 40 years; 24 years as Vice President and 16 years as President. He had been the sexton of the Geetingsville Cemetery for eight years and served on the Milner Community Health Board for six years with three of those serving as president. He was a member of the Geetingsville Presbyterian Church and the Elks in Lebanon. He and his wife loved spending the winters in the North Fort Myers area of Florida for the past 20 years.
Surviving Buck is his wife, Alice; son, Brad M. Crum of Frankfort; daughter, Rhonda S. Crum of Rossville; sisters, Carolyn A. (Jim) Devore and Mary Janet (Tom) Powell of Rossville; and grandchildren, Lily and Maya DeNoma.
In addition to his parents, Buck is preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth S. (Wally) Lewellyn and brother and sister-in-law, John A. (Mary Jo) Crum.

He was born in Lafayette, on June 26, 1960, to Max Leroy and Beatrice (Jackson) Stull. He married Krista Beth Coonrod on October 31, 1992, in Middlefork, Indiana.; she survives.
Joseph graduated in 1979 from North Montgomery High School where he was a standout football player. After graduating he served in the US Navy. He worked for Milner Community Health Care as a floor tech. Joseph enjoyed being outdoors doing anything from fishing to mushroom hunting to spending time near the water. He took pleasure in cooking, woodworking, history (anything Civil War and WWII) and westerns. He also enjoyed spending time in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. But above all, he loved spending time with his family and grandkids.
Survivors include his wife, Krista; daughters, Elizabeth Stull of Whiteland, Sarah Stull, and Shannon Stull of Clarksville, TN; sisters, Debbie Woodard of Frankfort and Tersea Sailu of Evansville; sister-in-law, Judi Stull; and grandchildren, Addalyn, Sophia and Ole Stull, Raymond Garcia, and Harper Hansen.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a twin brother, David Stull, as well as by his aunt and uncle, Wildo and Kenny Brakefield who raised Joseph.

Obituary Preview: Dianna Kay (Wortman) Bryant, 72, of Lafayette, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Franciscan East in Lafayette. She was the second daughter born to Robert and Betty Jane (Lawson) Wortman on September 17, 1950, in Lafayette. She married the love of her life, Wayne Bryant, on September 27 1975; he preceded her in death on November 15, 2010.
Dianna worked various jobs over the years. She enjoyed bartending, waitressing, then finally retired from Landis/Gyr when they moved to Mexico in 2005. While growing up in Lafayette, Dianna had attended schools in the Lafayette school corporation.
She loved planting flowers on her back patio and won several awards for her efforts. She was a fun loving gal who loved hanging at the creek, fishing, dancing, listening to music of all kinds, and watching her western shows on TV.
Surviving Dianna are a daughter, Ashleigh Rae (Fiancé, Nicholas) Bryant; step son, David (Tracy) Bryant; sisters, Carol Sue (Deb Dubes) Wortman and Gayle (Sam) Lahiri; granddaughter, KD Young; grandsons, Brayden and Brantley Allen; nieces and nephews, Alexis Platt, Jake Williams, Jason and Nathan Lindamood; and James, David, Timothy, Andrew and Paul Smith; her “ride or die” friend, Vickey Neal, and friends, Diane Jarrard, Peggy Williams, Melvin Linback, and the many more that had come and gone thoughout her life.
