She was a member of the Highland Presbyterian Church, Newport and Order of Amaranth. She enjoyed swimming and bird watching, but her greatest joy was caring for her husband and family.  Carrol was the widow of Richard L. Hench and is survived by her children Richard L. Hench of Phoenix, AZ, Laurie L Weikert of Orrtanna, PA and Christine F Hench of Newport; brothers David Wertz of Millerstown and Ronald Wertz of Abbottstown, PA and grandchildren Jonas, Ella and Claire Weidenhammer, Amanda McBride, Todd Weikert Jr and Lauren and Taylor Hench. She was preceded in death by sisters Gatha Shull and Fay Plumley and brother Buddy Wertz. Services will be held Wednesday, April 20 from the David Myers Funeral Home, Newport with a visitation from 10 AM until the funeral service at 11 AM with Pastor James Pennica officiating. Burial will follow in the Bloomfield Cemetery.  Memorial contributions are requested to the Newport Ambulance League.

Sweger and wife Peggy M. and Steven E Sweger of Newport; sister Barbara Frye of Duncannon; grandchildren Nathan Sweger and Shane Roush and faithful dog Trixie. She was also preceded in death by brother James Shuman and sister Betty Gardner.  Services will be held Monday, April 18 from the David Myers Funeral Home with a viewing from 1 PM until the service at 2 PM. Burial will follow in the Eshcol Cemetery, Millerstown.

He was a veteran of the US Air Force, a 1978 graduate of Newport High School, an avid Penn State fan and member of the Newport Social Order of Owls, VFW, and American Legion , Millerstown Loyal Order of  Moose and Hunters Valley Sportsmen Club.  Larry is survived by his son, Ryan Clark of Newport; step daughters Judy Clark of Newport and Jennifer Clark of Enola; brothers Michael and Charles White of Liverpool and granddaughter Claire Clark, He was also preceded in death by brother Frank White and sister Janice Reisinger.   Services will be held Tuesday, April 12, from the Newport Family Life Center, 27 West Shortcut Road, Newport with a viewing from 10 AM until the funeral service at 12 Noon. Burial will follow the service in the Hunters Valley Cemetery, Liverpool with military honors by the Perry County Military Honor Guard.

She was preceded in death by a brother, John Mitchell and a sister, Virginia Arnold.
She is survived by 2 sons: Stan Mullen and Les Mullen, both of Carlisle, a daughter, Cindy Hess of Tyrone, PA, 2 brothers: Willard Mitchell and James Mitchell both of Newport; a sister, Dorothy Beam and her husband David of Newport, 6 grandchildren: Anke, Ryan, Danielle, Stephanie, Nicole and Ryan; and numerous nieces and nephews including Jimmy and Jenna Mitchell.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, March 25th at the David M. Myers Funeral Home, 64 N. Second Street, Newport, with a viewing from 12-2:00pm. Pastor Jerry Wise will be officiating. Burial will be in the Newport Cemetery, Newport, PA.

She is survived by 4 sons: John L. Jones and his wife Brenda of North Liberty, IA, Robert K. Jones and his wife Pamela of Millerstown, David L. Jones and his wife Lori of Newport, and Alan D. Jones and his wife Joanita of Akron, PA; a brother, James Sarver of York; a sister, Nancy Brown of Hanover, PA, 9 grandchildren, Stephanie, John, Jennifer, Robert, Emily, Nicholas, Lydia, Malachi and Ezekiel; 4 great-grandchildren: Charlotte, Lewis, James and Hazel.
Funeral services will be held Saturday April 2, at 12 Noon at the Donnally Mills United Methodist Church, 4078 Raccoon Valley Road, Millerstown, PA, where a viewing will be held from 11:00 a.m to Noon. Burial will be in the Newport Cemetery, Newport. Rev. Fred Rudy will be officiating. David M. Myers Funeral Home, Newport are handling the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution in memory of Allen to the Millerstown Ambulance League or Hospice of Central Pa.

Obituary Preview: Nancy L. Kipp was called into the presence of the Lord from her home, surrounded by family on, Thursday, Feb. 24, 2022. She was born December 27, 1941 to Cloyd E.  and Olive Arlene (Reigle) Rhoades. Nancy was a 1959 graduate of Newport High School and a graduate of Maryland Medical Secretarial School, Hagerstown, Maryland. She worked as a part of the electrocardiogram team at the Polyclinic Hospital, Harrisburg, before becoming a secretary for Dr's Magill and Rumbaugh, in Newport. She retired in 2008 from the Newport School District as secretary in the elementary school. During those years, she saw students that covered three generations. Nancy grew up in the Mt. Olivet Church of the Brethren, Newport and presently was a member of the Three Springs Church of the Brethren, Blain, PA, faithfully serving and supporting her husband who pastored there for 21 years. At church, she enjoyed playing the piano, active with the women's fellowship, teaching children and working with Vacation Bible School. Nancy loved to sew making her and her children's clothes for years. She also made band front and cheerleading uniforms for the high school, as well as, alterations for anyone who needed them. Following her retirement, Nancy once again had needle, thread and scissors in her hands making baby blankets for the grandchilden and great grandchildren. She made quilts for all the children and gave a quilt to all of the grandchildren upon graduation. The great grandchildren received a quilt on their first birthday. When needle and thread weren't in her hands, Nancy could be found cooking, baking, canning, attending grandchildren's sporting events, reading book after book or scrap booking for the families, vacations, or church conferences. She was a faithful and devoted wife celebratng 60 years of marriage in  November, 2021.  Surviving are her husband, John S., five children: Rita Rellick (Jeff) of Duncannon, John E. Kipp (Lesa) of Newport, Wanda Floyd (Craig) of Lititz, Diane Handley (Kevin) of Duncannon, Amy Kipp (friend, Troy) of Harrisburg; 11 grandchildren: Stephanie, Daniel, Kaitlyn, John A., Thomas, Jordan, Aaron, Justin, Jadyn, Jacklyn, and Jillian: 12 great grandchildren: Zachary, Logan, Danica, Harper, Lacey, Christion, Temperance, Cooper, Maverick, Sydney, Makinzie and Rilynne. Also survived by brother, Dale Rhoades of Newport. A viewing will be held at Mt. Olivet Church of the Brethren, 1876 Turkey Bird Rd Newport from 6:00-8:00 PM on Tuesday March 1. Celebration of her life will be at Three Springs Church of the Brethren, 944 Three Springs Church Rd., Blain, PA 17006 on Wednesday, March 2.  Viewing will be from 9:30-11:00 AM priot to the service with Pastor Brad Bennett and retired pastor Ed Weaver officiating. Interment will be in the Blain Cemetery with a time of fellowship following the service in the church social hall. Memorial contributions may be made to the Three Springs Church or Homeland Hospice
