Obituary Preview: Charles Frederick Archer (Charlie), beloved father, father-in-law, and grandfather passed away peacefully on April 20, 2022, after spending Easter with his family. Charlie was born on August 3, 1936 in Danbury to the late Marion and Frederick Archer. Charlie grew up on Clapboard Ridge Road and graduated from Henry Abbott Technical High School.  He later became a licensed electrician.  As an adult he moved to a home he almost totally rebuilt on Rockwood Lane where he always gave everyone a friendly wave (“two shakes and a stop”).  He worked for many years at A.J. Along with his brother Larry, Charlie was an avid fan of the U-Conn Women’s Basketball Team and NASCAR.  He especially enjoyed time with Carol and their friends and families and visits with his grandchildren (who loved those tractor rides, the pool he kept in pristine condition, and getting ice cream from the Fudgy Wudgy man at the beach).
He enjoyed travels to Greece, Ireland, Anguilla and the Dominican Republic (where he developed a liking for strawberry daiquiris), vacations at the beach, and time spent in the beautiful yard at Rockwood Lane.
His expressions. “And a pleasant good morning;” “I didn’t lose my head over it;” and (after a sneeze) “It doesn’t look good for tomorrow” will live on.
Charlie was predeceased by his wife of 42 years, Carol, and his brother and lifelong friend, Larry Archer.  His brother Benjamin also predeceased him at an early age. He leaves to treasure his memory children: Lisa Partelow Reid, Paul (Susan) Partelow, Christine (Dennis) Archer Ring; Christopher (Michelle) Partelow; and grandchildren: Elizabeth Reid, Ryan (Emily) Partelow, Jenna Archer, Emily Reid and Lindsey Partelow. He also leaves his son Ed (Stephannie) Archer and their children Jillian and Devin. Joyce M. Alibro - May 12, 1943 - April 13, 2022

Departed: 04/13/2022 (Danbury)
Obituary Preview: Joyce Marlene (Armstrong) Alibro, the devoted wife of Frank Alibro Jr., went home to be with the Lord on April 13, 2022, at the age of 78. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Joyce was born in Charleston, West Virginia, on May 12, 1943, and had a humble upbringing in Boone County, West Virginia. She was raised by her grandmother, Rebecca Spurlock, who laid the foundation of her Christian faith. Joyce met the love of her life, Frank Alibro Jr., while visiting her sister in Danbury, CT. They married in 1960 and went on to have four dearly loved children, Christopher Alibro, Sheryl (Alibro) Troester, Anthony Alibro, and Joseph Alibro. Joyce was an incredibly loving and dedicated wife and mother, and a doting grandmother to her nine grandchildren, Michael Troester Jr., Kristen Troester, Elizabeth (Alibro) Hampton, Nicholas Troester, Francis Alibro, Anthony Alibro, Alyssa Troester, Joseph Alibro, and Gianni Alibro, and three great-grandchildren Gavin and Liam Troester and Logan Hampton. Joyce was also a wonderful mother-in-law to Michael Troester and Renee Alibro, and a caring aunt to her many nieces and nephews.
After raising her children, Joyce began her career working as a quality control supervisor for a major manufacturing company in Connecticut. In 1995, Joyce and her husband moved to Rotonda West, FL, where they eventually retired. They also lived in Cumming, GA, for a brief time before settling in Bradenton, FL, in 2015.
Joyce was a devout Christian who became saved as a teenager after a powerful experience with the Lord in the back of a small church in rural West Virginia. All who knew her could attest that her life was a true example of the Christian faith and her most incredible legacy. The way she lived her life and treated others ministered to the hearts of many people, leading them to the Lord by her example. In addition to her family, her greatest joy was sharing her faith and testimony with others. Joyce spent many years as an active church member, volunteering her time and talents to serve others, including teaching Sunday school to young children, and leading countless Bible studies. Joyce especially loved praise and worship music, and she began each morning by listening to her favorite songs.
Joyce was an outstanding, self-taught cook who took joy in making her family’s favorite dishes. This was just one of the many ways she expressed her love for others. She often enjoyed the challenge of re-creating recipes from different restaurants, and her version was always better than the original. Joyce was a wonderful homemaker and had a knack for decorating and making her living spaces beautiful.
Joyce was adored by all who knew her. She saw the good in every person and every situation. She never spoke an ill word about anyone nor complained about anything. She was always the person to go to for words of wisdom, encouragement, and comfort. She had a beautiful, kind, and gentle spirit and a face that radiated love and joy. Joyce always thought of others before herself and put everyone else’s needs above her own, even as she battled significant illness. Joyce’s life truly exemplified the virtuous woman described in Proverbs 31. “Her children rise up and call her blessed; Her husband also, and he praises her: “Many daughters have done well, but you excel them all.” She was an extraordinary person, loved and cherished beyond words.
Joyce reunites in heaven with her precious son, Joseph Alibro, her dear sisters Eleanor (Armstrong) Crone, Shirley Armstrong, Kathy (Armstrong) Carroll, her brother Larry Armstrong, her nephews Peter and Matthew Dahill, and other loved ones already passed. The world lost an amazing person, but heaven has gained a beautiful angel. Joyce will be deeply missed by her family and loved ones. Her spirit will live on forever in their hearts and through the lives of those she impacted.
The family will hold a private ceremony to commemorate Joyce’s life. Donations may be made in her honor to St. Jude’s Hospital, her favorite charity.
