She was the daughter of the late Pastors Wesley and Eliza Johnson of Angier.  She attended the Harnett County School systems, graduating from Harnett Central High School in 1982.
The family will receive friends daily from 1 PM - 8 PM at the home of Pastor Wilbert & Mrs. Fatima Amerson, 14665 NC Hwy 210, Angier  North Carolina.
She leaves to cherish her memories:  her husband - David McKinnon and Bucket (the dog she called her son) of the home; her only child - daughter - Precious McCoy (Roland); brother - Anthony Johnson (Stephanie); sisters - Siesta Smith (Aaron) and Fatima Amerson (Wilbet); grandson - Jaylen Blanchard; special aunt - Elder Louise Staton; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Viewing will be Sunday April 24, 2022  at the  Dafford Funeral Home  Chapel in Angier 12 Noon until 1 PM. Funeral service will begin at 1 PM at the  Dafford Funeral Home Chapel in Angier. Masks are required to enter and no more that 80 people inside at one time. Interment will follow at the James Family Cemetery, Coats.

Obituary Preview: Ms. Lauretta Campbell, 89, of 246 Longleaf Drive, Lillington, passed away April 17, 2022.  She was born in Harnett County to the late Make and Annabelle Campbell.  The attended Shawtown High School in Lillington and was a devoted and loving mother, daughter, sibling and friend.  There wasn't anything she would not do for her family.
She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Norrington AME Zion Church where she attended regularly until she was unable to do so.
She will forever be remembered by:  her daughters - Lillie Hurley (Roy), Alice Dockery (Ronnie), and her son - John Campbell;  five grandchildren - Michael Hurley (Karina), Marcus Hurley, Marlon Hurley (Latasha), Kelvin Campbell, Kelsey Campbell;  brother - Otis Campbell (Sarah); ten great grandchildren - Michael Hicks, Marquise Franks, Shaquille Franks, Saaheim Hurley, Lyric Hurley, Tyshan Hurley, Latavia Hurley, Xavier Hurley, Marlon Hurley II, Elijah Hurley; two great great grandchildren - Ariana and Kash; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Public viewing will be at the Dafford Funeral Home, 50 Tippet Road, Angier, Thursday, April 21, 2022 from 1PM - 5PM.  Final disposition will be held private by the family.

Viewing will be Tuesday, March 8, 2022 from 1pm to 5pm at Dafford Funeral Home Dunn, North Carolina.  Masks and social distancing is required.  Viewing will also be at the church, Wednesday, March 9, 2022 from 1PM - 2PM. Masks and social distancing will follow the guidelines of the church.
Funeral service will be Wed, March 9, 2022 at 2pm at Lou Chapel #1, Spring Lake , North Carolina.  Masks and social distancing will follow the guidelines of the church.

McLean, Sr.,  69, of 1186 NC 210 South, Lillington, passed away February 25, 2022.  He was the son of the late Deacon Joe Felton McLean, Sr. and the late Mother Ruth Belle McKay McLean of Lillington. Educated in the Harnett County Public Schools System, Jerome graduated from Lillington High School in 1970.
As a longtime active member of Jordan Temple Bible Church of God in Lillington, Jerome faithfully supported the vision of the church with his time and means. Over the years, he served in various capacities to include an original Male Chorus member, Sunday School Superintendent, Homecoming Captain and a member of the Trustee Board for over twenty years.
He leaves to cherish his memories and to take comfort in the will of God:  his children - Robert M. Bland (Rosalind) of Charlotte, Jerome K. McLean, Jr. (Kimberly) of Angier, Phillip L. McLean (Terry) of Aynor, SC., and Pamela Denise McLean-Gainey (Steven) of Eastover; his siblings - Joe F. McLean, Jr. (Hester), Michael L. McLean,Sr. (Karen), Rueben L. McLean (Eva), Doris McLean Bates (Charles), Rebecca McLean Barber (William), Davey R. McLean, Henry D. McLean (Jessica) and Ruth McLean Chapman (Elijah); step-mother - Lucy Mae Overby McLean; 10 grandchildren; two goddaughters - Latonya McNeill and Shalonda Blue; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and his primary caregiver - Gladys L. Thomas.
The public viewing will be at the Dafford Funeral Home in Angier, Wednesday, March 2, 2022 from 1PM - 5PM.  Masks are required to enter and practicing social distancing.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, March 3, 2022 at 1PM at the Cape Fear Conference A Headquarters, Erwin.  Masks are required to enter and following the facility's guidelines for seating and capacity.  Burial will follow in the Resthaven Cemetery, Dunn.
The family will receive friends daily at 74 Precious Lane, Lillington from 1PM - 7PM.  Masks are required to enter and sign the register book.

Obituary Preview: Shirley Marie Toon-McNeill, 83, of Brooklyn, New York, entered heavenly rest on February 25, 2022. She was born in Dunn, North Carolina to the late Huey and Sophronia Smith (Toon).
Shirley attended Harnett High School in Dunn, NC and graduated in 1956. She was an exceptionally talented Basketball player, she was Awarded a Full four year Athletic Basketball Scholarship. After graduating High School Shirley married her high school sweetheart, Robert McNeill. From this union, came five beautiful daughters: Debra, Barbara, Elaine, Christie, and Brenda. As a family the decision was made to relocate to Newark, NJ. Shirley attended Business School and became an excellent Clerical Typist. A few years later, Shirley relocated to Brooklyn, NY where she resided in the Historical Clinton Hills area, the family home location. She began her own Residential Cleaning Business which serviced the Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn and Manhattan area’s. Over the years Shirley became the neighborhood “Grandmother'' and many called her “Caca”, which originated as a family name. She was known in the community for her true passion of cooking all the wonderful foods of days gone by. In her free time she loved to travel. She especially enjoyed her travels to Puerto Rico, Hawaii as well as her annual Dunn, NC school reunion which she faithfully attended over the past 48 yrs. She was always the life of the party, dancing to her favorite song “The Electric Slide”.
In 2012, Shirley was inducted into the Harnett High School Basketball Hall of fame. Shirley was an avid gardener as well. She and a friend started a garden on S. Portland Avenue, in Brooklyn, NY many years ago. It has now flourished into a beautiful community garden and offers various services. Shirley was a loving Wife, Sister, Aunt, and Grandmother. But most of all, a devoted Mother who enjoyed spending time with her family. She lived a full, beautiful life and will be missed dearly.
She was preceded in death by her Husband Robert McNeill, her beloved Daughters Debra Nixon, Barbara McNeill, and Christie McNeill (Jackson). Sisters - Helen Patterson, and Maxine Smith. Adored Grandsons - John Prince Naheem Coles and Najeer Jackson.
Shirley leaves in the care of God her two Daughters, Elaine Lawrence and Brenda McNeill. Grandchildren; Sharina Nixon-Pitts, D’Shawn Jones, Khalil Nixon, Ieasha McNeill-Huey, Robert McNeill, Shawna Lawrence, Ariona Johnson, Ra-Elliot Johnson, Enchandra Johnson, Ahmad McNeill-Bey, Shalisia Jackson, Rahjier Jackson, 15 Great-Grandchildren. A host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends.
Funeral Service will be March 19, 2022, 11AM, at Dafford Funeral Home Chapel Dunn North Carolina.  Masks and social distancing are required. Burial will follow at Toon Family Cemetery, 400 North Wilson Ave., Dunn, North Carolina
