Diane Campbell - August 30, 1942 - April 17, 2024

Departed: 04/17/2024 (Palm Harbor)
Obituary Preview: Diane R. Campbell was born on August 30, 1942, and passed on April 17, 2024. She is predeceased by her parents Alphie and Fran Rassi. She is survived by her husband, Robert H. Campbell, and her two daughters, Kayleen Frazier (son-in-law Joseph Frazier), and Janeen Ludecke (son-in-law Robert Ludecke). She also leaves behind 4 granddaughters: Alea F. Howe, Savanna L. Rodriguez, Annaliese Ludecke, Mounira L. Dunham, and Emma Ludecke. She also leaves behind 4 great-grandchildren. Memory of Diane Campbell
Diane was born in Peoria, Illinois, and in 1952 came to Clearwater at age 10. She graduated from Clearwater High in 1960 in the top ten percent of her class of over 500 students. Having worked her way through St. Petersburg Junior College she received her AA degree. Her new job was at the most prestigious bank in Clearwater as the executive secretary to the vice president. Her achievements in business and secretarial science were valuable. In 1963 she had the responsibility of announcing the death of president JFK to the bank.
Diane was never in the military but she loved and served her Country. As a soloist, she sang “God Bless America” at a number of Patriotic Banquets. She researched material and helped people know how to vote. Over a period of 40 years she was responsible for the care of two WWII widows and two Veterans. With the advice of her cousin she cared for her uncle who fought in WWII and Korea. With the assistance of her brother Terry Rassi (who served in Vietnam) she took care of her own father who fought in the Battle of the Bulge. She took care of her widowed aunt and father at the same time for a number of years. Diane Campbell, We Salute You!
In 1965, ready for marriage, Diane came to Skycrest Baptist Church where we met and fell in love. Prior to this, my mother had already gone to be with the Lord, but my dad, who dearly loved Diane, wanted to give me my mother’s rings to use. I shared this with Diane. We got engaged and were married in 1966, 58 years ago this May 7, 2024. After 45 years of marriage Diane got her own wedding rings of her choosing. Diane gave her 100 year old rings to our first granddaughter to get married. Mounira Ludecke Dunham gratefully wears them and is here today.
In 1968 while 8 months pregnant with our first daughter Kayleen, and working full time at the bank, Diane typed letter perfect my 5000 word thesis so I could graduate.
After my six and a half years of college and a 4 year Christian Education Degree, we began our ministry together. Diane spent 4 years as a pastor’s wife. It was during this time in 1971 that our second daughter, Janeen, was born. The Lord provided and led us to buy a house, and our ministry changed.
In 1972 we never dreamed how God was going use Diane in the following years.
Since 1972 we have served the Lord in 4 different churches. Over the years God has supplied our needs through home repairs, real estate, Diane’s writing, publishing and working. In Palm Harbor she worked for a Christian trucking Company and for the last 27 years for Financial Guidance Group.
Through the 70’s, at the largest independent Baptist Church in Clearwater, with around 800 in Sunday School, Diane served as co-director of Sunday School and Jr. Church. (You know who did all the work!) Now not only as soloist and writer, she became a seamstress. She wanted to sew for our daughters. By now they were school age and going to Skycrest Christian School (K-8th grade). Today, now years later, Kayleen teaches there. In the 80’s things are going to change!
Being concerned about my health, Diane changed our life style and diet. That’s probably why I’m still alive at 82. This resulted in her writing the Book Step-by-Step to Natural Food. The Lord used this book to change people’s lives, both physically and spiritually. To our knowledge it was the only commercially sold cookbook in America that had the plan of salvation in it. It was well received, and over the period of time it was in print, sold over one hundred and twenty-five thousand copies. This resulted in her speaking at Washington University and Madison Square Gardens as she promoted nutrition. Trust me, there were too many more places to mention in the time allotted today. School!
At age 40 Diane went back to college at Clearwater Christian College and finished her degree. Having a Bachelors Degree in Business education with a minor in Bible she fulfilled a dream to teach. She substituted at Keswick Christian high school and taught for one year at Clearwater Christian College. Not only was Diane a great teacher, she was a natural at floral design and flower arranging. Having done her own wedding, she got into wedding planning. The Move to Palm Harbor!
We out grew our home in Clearwater and moved to our new home in Palm Harbor which is the current address. Here we began our ministry at Berea Baptist Church. As Junior Church director, Diane mastered her skills in drama, being a puppeteer, and being a ventriloquist. Some here today met us in Jr. Church at Berea (you’re probably getting close to 40 years of age). At this point, our girls have graduated from Keswick Christian School and are now finishing their BS degrees in education at Clearwater Christian College. Diane took a job with a Christian trucking company in Palm Harbor. This became very useful for getting wedding flowers. The 90’s are going to be exciting!
When the 90’s came along, Diane got to plan and do both of our daughters’ weddings. One reception and wedding had over one thousand roses, thanks to her job at the trucking company and a shipper’s mistake, they gave us the roses. We decorated a Christmas tree in roses, had a thousand cookies, fourteen pies and plenty of food. I think that was the most fun Diane ever had at a wedding. The late 90’s and early 2000
After many years at Berea Baptist Church, the Lord was leading elsewhere, and we went out to Keystone Road, where a Clearwater Christian Alumnus was the pastor of a small church and needed help. Diane used her talents to help build up Sunday School, Jr. Church, and other activities. While there, with Diane’s love for the gospel, we started a tract ministry, Show Car Owners for Christ, which was a ministry for car events. This would not have been done without the support of Diane. Another way she supported me, was by providing her decorative talents on the Race Cars of Yesterday’s Palm Harbor Christmas Parade Float. Their floats have been in the parade for 13 of the last 15 years. The float reminded people that, “Jesus is the Reason for the season”. She also showed her servant’s heart by organizing the Race Cars of Yesterday’s Awards Banquet for the last 7 years. In 2001, for the Florida State Fair, Chick-Fil-A restaurant donated five thousand Gospel tracts with a free sandwich coupon to be given out by the Wordless Book Tent Ministry. That donation motivated me, and I got involved! Diane has faithfully sacrificed and supported this ministry for the last 23 years. The How Can I to Get to Heaven color tract is on the front table. Please take some. It explains the Wordless Book. At this time in our lives, we decided to go back to a larger church. THE LAST CHAPTER Of 20 PLUS YEARS
This church was to be Bible Baptist Church in Palm Harbor, Florida, where Diane would end up serving for the next 20 years, until she no longer had the stamina and retired from church work in 2022. When she was active, she ministered in Junior Church, Sunday School, puppets, children’s activities, and women’s events. Not only was she active with church, she also had accepted a new job opportunity with Financial Guidance Group. This remained her occupation for the last 27 years. In fact, they loved her so much that they continued to pay her until the end, even when she could not work for the last four months of her life. Thankfully, her job at FGG was flexible so she was able to spend more free time as a Grammy. She loved on her five granddaughters for many years. By 2024, she not only had her five granddaughters, but now had 4 great grandchildren to love. The Lord is so good, Diane got to spend with time with them the last months of her life. I LOVE YOU!
Diane trusted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior in her early twenties and loved the Lord dearly. The Lord gave me her to be my wife in 1966. The night before our marriage, I was enthusiastically telling my uncle, who held his Doctorate degree in education, that I was marrying the perfect woman. He laughed. You may agree with his thoughts, but you can’t disagree with this statement, “Diane was my God-given wife that was perfect for me.” We agreed on that for 58 years. My love for her continues, even though she is gone. I know that when she trusted Christ as her Savior, God made her His child. That’s why I know she is in Heaven today. John 1:12, “But as many as received Him, to them gave he power (the right) to become the sons (children) of God, even to them who believe in His name.

Departed: 04/08/2024 (Palm Harbor)
Obituary Preview: Lois King Newhall, the epitome of a matriarch, passed away peacefully at home on April 8, 2024, in Dunedin, Florida, at the age of 91. Born on July 14, 1932, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, Lois grew up with a spirit of kindness and intelligence that would become the hallmark of her life. She was predeceased by her husband, William R. Newhall.
Lois’s proudest achievement was her family. Family was always paramount in her life. She excelled at motherhood, instilling strong core values and work ethic in all of her children. She was the perfect guiding light for her children always.
She was extremely close to her sister Jean, brother-in-law Lyle, nephew Dave and niece Janet. Though her sister and family reside in California, the bond was strong. She traveled many times to the west coast from the Midwest and Florida for visits. They also enjoyed destination vacations together, the most recent being in Lake Tahoe.
When Lois’s youngest was in school fulltime, she went to work in retail at Maas Brothers, staying there close to 40 years through the transition to Macy’s. She continued to meet some of her cherished colleagues for monthly luncheons. Following a well-earned retirement, Lois began working for the Phillies during spring training, which she thoroughly enjoyed for the next several years. Her work buddies from baseball also remained close and enjoyed getting together regularly.
Lois was a woman of many passions. She moved to Dunedin from the Midwest in 1971 and loved it. She was an accomplished bridge player, a hobby that not only challenged her intellectually but also brought her much joy and camaraderie. Her love for the game was rivaled by her enthusiasm for Tampa Bay sports, a fervent fan through and through, her support never wavered. In her later years she became a NASCAR fan…even attending a race at Talladega! She also enjoyed the challenge of daily crossword and/or jigsaw puzzles.
The daughter of an Army Chaplain, she lived many places growing up…attending over 10 schools during her formative years. As a college student, she moved to Germany with her parents and stayed there to work and travel around Europe. Her enthusiasm for exploring new places and adventures continued. She enjoyed trips via car, plane or cruise ship with family and friends throughout her life.
Those who knew Lois would describe her as loving, wise, witty, and intelligent. These attributes shone brightly in her role as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her sister Jean Brown, devoted children, Nancy Troio, (son-in-law Matt), Kathryn Barker, and Kenneth Newhall. Lois's legacy continues through her six grandchildren, Sarah, Matthew, Christian, Devyn, Eva, and Jaxon, and her five great-grandchildren, Aiden, Keigan, Reid, Alea, and Logan. Each of them carries forward her love, her lessons, and her zest for life.
Lois's life was a tapestry of meaningful relationships, enduring friendships, and heartfelt moments. She had the rare ability to touch lives profoundly and leave a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her wisdom guided her family through the best and the worst of times, and her intelligence was a light that never dimmed.
As we bid farewell to Lois, we celebrate a life lived with grace and dignity. She was a pillar of strength to her family, a trusted friend, and a respected member of her community. Her memory will be cherished and her presence deeply missed. Though she has left our sight, the essence of who she was remains with us, guiding and inspiring just as she always has. She was her family’s true north and beacon of light. Rest in peace. Your journey has been a remarkable one, and your story will be told with love for generations to come.
Her request was to have a private family service.

Kathleen Kennedy-Steinorth - January 22, 1945 - April 02, 2024

Departed: 04/02/2024 (Palm Harbor)
Obituary Preview: Kathleen Elizabeth Kennedy-Steinorth, affectionately known as KK to her friends and family, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2024, at the age of 79 in Clearwater, Florida, after a courageous battle with vascular dementia. Born on January 22, 1945, in Passaic, New Jersey, KK was a beacon of light and warmth to everyone she encountered.
KK grew up in a loving family and was the cherished daughter of William and Julia Bubbly Kennedy, both of whom preceded her in death, along with her sister, Sarah Kennedy. Her spirit of compassion and kindness was cultivated from an early age, traits that would define her throughout her life. KK's brother, Mat Kennedy, fondly remembers her as the heart of the family, always bringing joy and comfort to their home.
KK and her family moved to Aruba because her father worked for the Esso refinery operated on that island. She lived on the island from the age of three until graduation from high school. To say she remembered her life on Aruba fondly would be a vast understatement. She considered herself an Aruban and loved her time there. Many lifelong friendships were formed during her time there and were strengthened with annual reunions both in the US and on the island.
After completing her education in an administrative school, KK embarked on a banking career in Manhattan. After moving to Florida KK started a career with Smiths Industries in Clearwater, where she made significant contributions to both the Engineering and Finance departments. Her colleagues valued her not just for her professional expertise but also for her genuine concern for others and her ability to brighten the workplace with her presence.
KK's life was one of devotion and love, beautifully exemplified in her marriage to Carl Steinorth. Together, they built a life filled with mutual respect, unwavering support, and countless cherished memories. Their love was a testament to the adage, "The best thing to hold onto in life is each other," a sentiment poetically captured by Audrey Hepburn.
Her role as a mother to her daughter, Diane Warner, was filled with the same love and selflessness she brought to every aspect of her life. KK's legacy continues through her grandchildren, Logan and Luke Warner, who will carry forward the values and lessons she instilled in them.
KK's zest for life extended beyond her professional and family endeavors. She was an avid traveler who relished the opportunity to explore new places and cultures. Her social life was vibrant as she enjoyed spending time with friends, sharing stories, laughter, and joy. Those who knew KK will remember her for her loving nature, her kind heart, and her selfless spirit.
In a world that often demands so much of us, KK was a reminder of the beauty of simplicity and the power of kindness. She lived by the principle that "We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give," a philosophy beautifully articulated by Winston Churchill, which KK embodied every day.
Kathleen Elizabeth Kennedy-Steinorth leaves behind a legacy of love and a blueprint for a life well-lived. She will be deeply missed by her husband, Carl, her daughter, Diane, her brother, Mat, her grandsons, Logan and Luke. She also leaves behind her ex-husband John Smolinsky and a circle of friends and colleagues whose lives she touched profoundly.
As we bid farewell to KK, we celebrate a life brimming with love, service, and the joy of human connection. Her memory will continue to inspire and guide us, and her spirit will remain an indelible part of the lives she touched. Rest in peace, KK, and thank you for the love and light you shared with us all.
