Born March 18, 1933 in Sissonville, WV, she was the daughter of the late Albert Jenkins Thaxton and Myrtle M. Sisson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband. James H. Burdette, Sr. and her siblings, Albert Jenkins Thaxton, Jr. and Hilda Skeen. Evelyn was a member of Emanuel Baptist Church in Charleston. She loved animals, especially her two cats, Sammy and Mushu, and enjoyed flower gardening and exercising. Evelyn is survived by her son, James H. Burdette Jr. of Charleston and her grandson, Eric M. Burdette also of Charleston. The family would like to thank the staff of Sweet Briar Assisted Living for their compassionate care. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Obituary Preview: David C. Burdette, 70, passed away on August 19th, 2020 in Bidwell, Ohio, formerly of Charleston, WV. He was born on May 20th, 1950 to Robert C. and Pearl M. Burdette in Charleston, WV. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Hubert Dale “Yogi” Burdette; sister Martha J. “Penny” Moss; brother in law Ronald L. “Buddy” Whittington and brother in law Gary Smith. David spent several years in the army and was in the Vietnam War, where he returned home after suffering an injury. He continued to spend his life serving his country by enlisting in the Army Reserves upon his return until retirement. David never knew a stranger and talked to everyone he met. He loved telling stories to anyone who would listen. He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly D. Burdette; sister Nancy M. Burdette of Goldtown; sister in law Charlene W. Burdette of Sissonville; niece Shawnetta A. Whittington Wilson (Dustin) of Sissonville; niece Candi M. Davis (Mike) of Sissonville; niece April D. Jones of Goldtown; niece Angela B. Burdette (Scott) of Kenna; and many great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Special thanks to Abbeyshire Rehabilitation Center of Bidwell, Ohio and Heartland Hospice of Jackson Ohio for taking such good care of him during his stay. She was preceded in death by her parents, 9 siblings, Mabel “Frankie”, Charlie, Hurstle, Dale, Violet, Hazel, Milton “Coleman”, Jasper “Cleo”, and Glen; husband Thadice Mounts and son’s Mortica “Mortie” and Kevin Mounts. She is survived by her children, Thadice “Dwight” and Keith Mounts, daughter Pat (Charles) Spaulding; 10 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren, and a host of other friends and family members. Delores lived in Charleston, WV as a caretaker for most of her life but always considered Aflax, KY and Williamson, WV her home. We will miss her fun-loving spirit, her spunk and tenacity, and hearing her say “Hello Darlin’” when you walked in the door. If you had a school jacket in the 70s or 80s, she probably put your name on there. She was talented, creative, funny, and compassionate.She loved her family fiercely and was an active volunteer with the Dunbar High School Band Boosters and later with the Optimist Club of South Charleston. Her work benefited hundreds of students. She spent her days taking care of others and giving of herself fully. She helped to raise her kids, her kids’ friends, her nieces, and her grandchildren.

Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, Claude “Ova” and Gladys Vannoy; brothers, James Vannoy and Robert Vannoy; sisters, Genlee Boggess and Delores Boggess. She is survived by her sisters, JoAnn Paxton, Margaret Mitchell and Kitty Thatcher and her brother, Roger Vannoy; her four daughters, Jacky King and her husband, Ronald, Tammy Payne and her husband, Gary, Cindy Spearman and Jennifer Elkins and her husband, Scott. Obituary Preview: Thomas Allen “Tommy” Edens, peacefully left this world surrounded by his family in the arms of his true love on June 16th 2020, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Tommy was a God fearing man who loved Jesus, attending church, and his family in Christ. You could find him working under a car, building something, or tinkering in his garage. A man with over 1,000 songs on his iPod, he loved listening and singing to his music (extra loud). He was an avid jokster, who overused sarcasm, with a laugh that would make you laugh. He loved movies, quoting movies, and listening to Rush Limbaugh. He was the family Jeopardy champion, and if you asked him, he could beat Ken Jennings if he had enough time to answer the questions. Tommy loved to shoot guns and took pride in his collector items. He was a die hard Conservative and could not wait for Trump to win the election in November. He was a perfectionist, and always said “if you ain't going to do it right, don't do it at all”. He loved his wife unconditionally, as well as his children. He worked hard to provide for his family his whole life. Tommy had 32 years truck driving experience and pulled doubles at FedEx freight for 23 years. His family joked he couldn't drive a car in a straight line, but he had over 3 million safe driving miles. He won multiple awards over the years competing in the West Virginia Truck driving competition that included Rookie of the year, multiple state shampionships, runner up awards, and the only person to score a 100% on the written exam. He was smart, funny, loving, kind, caring, compassionate and will be missed by all who knew him.

Tommy will be patiently waiting to reunite with his soulmate and wife of 26 years, Sherri. A daughter, Kayli Feazelle (Jamie), son, Seth Edens (Sheyenne), his two princess granddaughters Miylah & Remington; brothers, Roger Hunt (Kathy) and Glenn Edens (Shirley); sisters, Kathy Lynn Withrow (Jerry), Shirley Vasilou, a mother-in-law, who loved him like a son, Linda Carter, and a abundance of nieces and nephews.

Tommy was greeted in heaven by his son, Ethan Edens; his mother Eva Edens and father Jake Edens, brothers, Archie Joe Edens, Joseph Archie Hunt, James Archie Hunt, Larry Edens,; and sister, Bonnie Breeden.
