Christine Lucille (Tassi) Reed - June 02, 1942 - October 12, 2023

Departed: 10/12/2023 (Carson City)
Obituary Preview: Christine Lucille (Tassi) Reed, daughter, sister, mother, family member and friend passed quickly and unexpectedly on October 12, 2023 while with her grandson and daughter, both feeling blessed she was not alone.
Born June 2, 1942, in Compton, California, Christine and her family settled in Susanville, CA where she spent her formative years.
She graduated from Lassen High School belonging to many school clubs and cheerleading. She was popular and well liked by classmates and teachers; nicknamed "Sassy Tassi" due to her humor, spirit and adventures with her first love Ken Walsh, whom she later married. Christine was also known for her innate ability to stick up for and side with the underdog; a trait she carried until her last day.
After high school she moved to California, spending the most time in Chico and Santa Rosa, before moving to Carson City, Nevada in 1997 to be closer to family.
In her early years she participated in women's derby racing, winning many trophys as a result of her fearlessness behind the wheel. She loved spending time with friends, music, baking (always sharing her famous bread with neighbors) and watching movies at the drive-in, the scarier the better.
Later on in life she volunteered in the dining hall at the Carson City Senior Citizens Center, participated in the annual Senior Follies, enjoyed playing cards, crafting, "coffee talk" with the ladies and making sure she was in-the-mix of everything at the senior apartment complex in which she lived.
Her hobbies were many but her favorite was spending time with and doting on her children and grandchildren. She would do anything she could or was asked of by them. Baby and dog sitting, attending her grandchildren's T-ball, baseball, softball and football games brought her great joy. She made it her job to take them trick-or-treating, making sure they didn't quit until they had enough Butterfingers in their bag. They truly were the light of her life.
Christine was a hard worker, respected by co-workers and loved working with the public where her quick wit and big heart was a perfect fit. Prior to retiring, she was the manager of the S & S Mini Market in Dayton for many years.
Christine's life took her in many directions, though her love for those she cared about always remained regardless of where she was in her journey. She came full-circle, being baptized October 13, 2013 resulting in what she considered a true blessing to reconnect with willing family, especially her mother with whom she enjoyed many weekend visits with until her passing in October 2015.
Her was heart enormous, her loyalty to those deserving unwavering. Known for her feistiness, she also leaves behind a legacy of kindness, joy, undoubted love for her family and friends and an infectious laugh that you couldnt help but join in with.
Christine was preceded in death by her parents Frank & Dorthy Tassi, neice Kellie (Tassi) Berry and nephew Ted Tassi. Survived by several family members, most notably her daughter and daily side-kick DeAnna Walsh-Guthrie (Steve Higley) grandson and best friend Micah Guthrie, daughter Deborah Gunburg (Al Duran) and grandson Jeremy Nichols, the three of them making regular trips to visit which brought her tremendous joy.
Her passing has left a large void in the lives of those her knew her and experienced the magnitude and depth of her infinite love and the mischievous twinkle in her eye.
A private service has been scheduled, Capitol City Cremation And Burial Society assisting with arrangements. "Thank you for loving me so fiercely Momma & being the best grandma and friend to Micah. Our world has dimmed but your light will shine bright in our hearts forever" - Dingle

His full birth name was Albert Bertram Otto Meier, it was shortened, and spelling changed when he was a young adult. Bert grew up in Munich with his parents and brother Fred but also spent time with relatives in Switzerland during WWII.
Bert was always a talented, artistic and adventurous man. He was befriended by members of the US Army Co. A of the 508th Military Police Service Battalion stationed in Munich during 1950, where he was employed as a painter. With some of these people he joined the “Arizona Boys”, a group that dressed up as Cowboys and Indians performing entertainment/music shows. …And he fell in love with the “Wild West”.
He attended art college in Munich winning a prize that gained him sponsorship to attend an art school in London, England for a few months. From there he traveled to Canada and the United States exploring and pursuing a sign painting career. He was also an accomplished musician that played a variety of instruments and played songs by ear.
He met his future wife A. Jean Davison in British Columbia. They later moved to Seattle, Washington where they married on March 5th 1955, became proud U.S. citizens, and started a family. He is survived by his brother Fred of Munich, Germany and remaining family in Nevada including daughters Kathy (Dan) and Susan (Ted), grandchildren Kristyn (Naeem) and Ryan (Lindsay) as well as great-grandchildren Zoey and Meeka.
