Cassie was born August 30, 1998 in St. Louis, MO. She was extremely intelligent, excelled academically and is described as Ivy League College smart. She loved school, reading, and constantly learning. Cassie enjoyed working out and was always ready to partake in any adventure, which included almost anything, when the opportunity presented itself. She loved to drive and often proclaimed to her passengers that she was a race car driver so, “buckle up!” She and her passengers always made it to their destination safely, often with “12 minutes to spare”. She was always ready to leave for school 30 minutes early, every day, so she could get a large sweet tea from McDonalds. Cassie had a great and unique sense of humor and constantly made people laugh. She was always laughing. You would never see Cassie without a smile on her face. She will be remembered by many as the funniest person they have ever known and could have easily made a career of being a comedian.
Cassie had a “strange obsession…Catsup.” It did not matter how fancy the restaurant, rest assured she would order chicken strips, french fries and a full bottle of catsup.
There is nothing more Cassie wanted in life than a big, happy family. She always wanted to be around her siblings. Cassie loved hugs. She took every chance to hug you even if felt you did not need it. She had the sweetest heart.
She, her sisters and best friend, Shelby Bauer, would often beg her father for his credit card so they could rent and spend days watching the movie, “Jennifer’s Body”. She will be remembered as being the greatest sister anyone could ask for and a very loyal person to anyone who needed her. She would do anything for anyone she loved. Cassie and her cousin, Hailey Ham, were inseparable. They argued like a married couple, but they always made up right away.
Cassie loved her cats, jewelry, and anything with diamonds. She was the type of person you could talk to for hours. She saw the rough side of life but she would sit and talk to you if you were upset, as if nothing was bothering her, just to make you feel better. Cassie loved to color as it took her mind off everything around her.

Alicia Katherine McDanel - August 04, 1985 - February 13, 2021

Departed: 02/13/2021 (Collinsville)
Obituary Preview: Alicia McDanel, age 35, of Godfrey, IL passed away on Friday, February 13, 2021.
Alicia was born on August 4, 1985 in Alamosa, CO. When she was just over one year old her family moved to Bismarck, ND. They lived in North Dakota for 3 years. In November of 1989 they moved to Montana where Alicia spent most of her life.
She enjoyed the outdoors and loved hiking, camping, and exploring. She collected everything from rocks and sticks to the paper wrappers that restaurants use on their utensils. Even as a child she was a bit Obsessive Compulsive.
She had a strong personality and wanted things her way. As a child she often told friends that disagreed with her that “it was time for them to go home”. She knew what she liked and wanted and would not settle for less.
She was a good negotiator as well. She once made a deal with her dad for a trip to Yellowstone Park. He wanted to go but none of the family wanted to go with him. She agreed to go if he agreed to stop at every gift shop in the park; he agreed, and the adventure was on.
Alicia began to explore the wild side of life in high school. This led to the addiction issues with which she struggled the rest of her very short life.
When Alicia realized she was pregnant with her first son, she stopped using drugs to ensure that he was a bright and healthy baby. The transformation was nothing less than a miracle. While at times she struggled with alcohol and drugs, she made sure to have healthy pregnancies and beautiful children.
Alicia was looking to rekindle the nature of her youth and to teach her children the adventure and joy of exploration. She packed up and moved to Florida. Unfortunately, addiction is not something that can be left behind, even when starting a new adventure. While living in Florida addiction again reared its ugly head. Just 3 months after they arrived in Florida, she decided to join her father in Illinois. But alas, there too, addiction came back into her life and in the end, it took her life.
Alicia was a loving mother who worked tirelessly to support her children and give them all of the love she had to give. Riley, Kooper, and Adela you must always remember that above all things, your mother loved you.
Surviving Alicia are her parents, Gary McDanel of Godfrey, IL and Adelita Trujillo of Harlowton, MT; three children, Riley Davis, Kooper Davis and Adela Davis of Godfrey, IL; two sisters, Amelia McDanel of Portland, OR and Faith Wheeler of Billings, MT; nephews, Aiden Worden of Billings, MT and Ian Worden of Billings, MT; and brother-in-law, Patrick Wheeler of Billings, MT.
Memorials may be made to the family for Alicia’s children and may be forwarded to Cremation and Memorial Services, 216 E. Main Street, Collinsville, IL 62234. Condolences may be extended to the family online at www.cremationllc.com
Alicia will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
