James Edward Arnold - January 28, 1951 - June 01, 2021

Departed: 06/01/2021 (Kissimmee)
Obituary Preview: Kissimmee, FL - James E Arnold, 70, died peacefully after an extended illness on June 1, 2021. He was born January 28, 1951, in Alexandria, Virginia, the
son of Robert (Bob) and Johanna “Kitt” (Kwiatkowski) Arnold. Jim began his college education at the University of Tennessee and transferred to his brother Greg’s Alma Mater, Clarkson University in Potsdam, NY where he earned his master’s degree in business administration. He was member
of the Theta Xi Fraternity. In addition to his parents, Jim was predeceased by his best friend and
brother, Greg Arnold. Jim lived a full and active life. He was employed by NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) for more than 32 years and is one of those rare people who believed you should “love what you do so it doesn’t feel like work,”
and love it he did. An avid outdoorsman, Jim enjoyed fly fishing and deer hunting. No matter what he caught or bagged, nothing ever went to waste as the venison and fish were always donated to feed the homeless and less fortunate. His love of the outdoors extended to the conservation of wetlands and habitats of waterfowl and other wildlife. Jim was a contributing member of Ducks Unlimited and
Hunters for the Hungry. Although never married, Jim was very much a “family man.” He loved his extended family which included the close relationships he had with his first cousins and their families from Michigan, Florida, Utah and New York. He always remembered birthdays and the holidays with a card expressing kind and loving
sentiments. Jim was a thoughtful person who was generous with his time and friendship and always believed in “doing the right thing.” … a more honorable man would be
hard to find. Formerly of Gaithersburg, MD, Jim visited cousins in Florida and said, “this is where I want to live!” He and his close ally, cousin Renee Martin made it their mission to see that desire fulfilled. Jim spent the last 3 years of his life enjoying beautiful sunrises at his lakefront home and the sights and sounds associated with the parade of wildlife and birds which included wild boar, foxes, a pair of Bald Eagles, a family of Sandhill Cranes, and of course, his beautiful black Labrador, Rue! Jim died peacefully surrounded by his loving cousin, Renee Martin, her
husband Jeff and their 2 children, Brianna and Caleb. A Celebration of Jim’s Life will be held at Jim’s home in Kissimmee, FL on
July 17, 2021. Further details available to family and friends. Jim has been cremated and his ashes will be scattered at the place of his
choosing. For those who wish to remember Jim in a special way please make gifts in his memory to Hunters for The Hungry at https://www.h4hungry.org and the
