He also had nieces and nephews: Clayton Cassidy, Lamonte Williams, Shakeyah Parson, Donovan Gause and Resilience Parson. Elijah Lee Cassidy enjoyed singing and being a jokester amongst friends and family. He really loved God.
Every time you was around him, he was giving God the praise. He was always singing Amazing Grace in his own version, you just had to hear him because it would make you laugh because of how he was singing it.

He had a wonderful sense of humor, loved his family dearly, and could be the "clown" sometimes. He is preceded in death by his mother: Myra Jan Smith and stepdad: Buster Whitley.
Ernest is survived by his loving wife: Susan Smyre and his loyal son: Austin Smyre of the home; along with the family service dog Cocoa and the new puppy Elvis; his daughter: Starla Tracy and his granddaughter: Bella Rose Tracy; Sisters Bonnie Allen, Amy (Brian)Carter, Gail Smyre and his brother: Marshall Whitley. In addition to these, his "adopted" daughter Madelynn Grace Johnson, a great niece that was raised like his own daughter, whom he loved very much like a father. His "adopted" sons: Kevin Reece and Thomas Logan Johnson whom he treated as his own, and their mother Shanna Jeanette Johnson who was also like a daughter to him and Kevin Johnson who was like a brother.
In addition to these, many loved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. His dad also: Ernest Smyre Sr.
A covered dish dinner will be held following the service. Family is asking everyone to bring a covered dish.
In lieu flowers, the family is requesting memorial contributions in his honor be made to your local food pantry of your choice.
