Obituary Preview: KOKOMO - David Wayne Widrick, 64, of Kokomo, Indiana passed away on Friday, April 26, 2024, at his daughter’s residence in Rosedale. He dedicated his career to road construction with Milestone. David was born on December 3, 1959, in Orlando, Florida, to the late Marvin Ray Widrick and Ethel Lillie Chevallier Widrick.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Tiffany (Justin) Lindley of Rosedale; cherished son, Cory Widrick of Alabama; caring brother, Bobby (Irma) Widrick of Houston, Texas; devoted sisters, Rose Brown of Kokomo, Angie (Michael) Murry of Syracuse, and Nina (Tim) Shinkle of Greenwood; stepfather, John Hendricks of Kokomo; and five adoring grandchildren: Halie Petty of Montezuma, Draven Widrick, and Cierra Lindley, both of Rosedale, Erika Widrick and Lin Widrick, both of South Carolina.
David graduated from North Western High School and proudly served his country in the United States Army. He had a passion for aviation, spending his free time building and flying airplanes.  He was a member of the Blue Angels RC Club.
Graveside services with military honors will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, May 3, at Rosedale Cemetery in Rosedale.  Visitation will be 11 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at Cottrell-Gooch Funeral Home, 281 N. Main Street, Rosedale, Indiana.

Obituary Preview: ROSEDALE-Shirley M. Fetter, 88, of Rosedale, Indiana passed away Friday, January 26, 2024, in her residence. She retired from the Controller’s office at Indiana State University. She was born July 18, 1935, in Rosedale, Indiana to the late Perry Clark and Mary Parker Clark.
Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Francis E. Fetter whom she married October 9, 1954 in Rosedale; also surviving, children, Kathy (Bob) Jackson of Marshall, Illinois, Scott (Jannie) Fetter of Rosedale and Karey (Ron) Miller of Rosedale; son-in-law, James Stewart of Greensburg; sister, Ruthann Seger of Louisville, Kentucky; seven grandchildren, Crystal Patrick, Brian and DeWayne Stewart, John and Page Fetter, Seth and Blake Miller; six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Krista Stewart, granddaughter, Casey Murphy and brother, Glen Clark.
She was a graduate of Rosedale High School and Indiana Business College. She grew up in the Joppa Baptist Church and was a long-time active member of the Rosedale Baptist Church. She was a member of the Rosedale Sorority and Quilt Club.
Services will be 11:00 am Monday, January 29, at the Rosedale Baptist Church, 116 N. Depot Street, Rosedale, with Pastor Randy McPike officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Terre Haute. Visitation is 2-6 pm Sunday at Cottrell-Gooch Funeral Home, 281 N. Main Street Rosedale.

Obituary Preview: ROSEDALE-Linda “Kay” Foxworthy, 77, of Rosedale, Indiana passed away Thursday, January 11, 2024, at Union Hospital in Terre Haute. She retired from Columbia House in Terre Haute with 30 years of service.
She was born March 29, 1946, in Clinton, Indiana to the late Robert Paul Martin and Gradie Maxine Decker Martin.
Her husband Gary Glenn Foxworthy whom she married July 31, 1964, preceded her in death August 8, 1994.
Survivors include one son, Tony (Diana) Foxworthy of Clinton; two daughters, Melanie Foxworthy of Clinton and Kelly (Ben) Baker of Montezuma; siblings, Connie Griffin of Mecca, Janet (Ron) Cannon of Rockville, Laura Dickey of Greencastle, Jackie Earnhart of Goshen, and Larry “Dino” Martin of Rockville; son-in-law, Harvey Jenkins of Rosedale; two grandchildren, K’Lyn (Damien) Taylor and Gary Foxworthy; two great-grandchildren, Ellie and Peyton Taylor; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by siblings, Dennis “Doc” Martin and Sue Engle; sister-in-law, Paula Martin; brothers-in-law, Henry Griffin, Charlie Engle and Orville Dickey.
She was a member of the Rosedale Baptist Church, DeMolay Mothers Club of Clinton and the former Order of the Eastern Star in Rosedale and Clinton. She enjoyed being a wife and mother and church was an important part of her life. She was very proud of her family and enjoyed spending time with them.
Services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, January 17, at Cottrell-Gooch Funeral Home, 281 N. Main Street, Rosedale, with the Pastor Randy McPike officiating. Burial will follow in Rosedale Cemetery. Visitation is 12 noon until 2:00 pm Wednesday.

James Earl McMullen - June 04, 1952 - December 20, 2023

Obituary Preview: James Earl McMullen, 71, passed away on December 20, 2023 in the Vitas Hospice Center at the University of Miami Hospital surrounded by his nieces and nephews. Jim was born in Terre Haute, Indiana on June 4, 1952 to Robert and Mary Ellen (Clark) McMullen.
Jim grew up in Rosedale, IN, graduating from Rosedale High School in 1970. He earned a BS Degree in Arts and Political Science from Indiana State University in 1974. Jim then continued his post secondary education in Bloomington, IN, graduating from Indiana University in 1979 from both the School of Law and the School of Public and Environmental Affairs.
From Indiana, Jim relocated to Washington, D.C. ultimately becoming the Budget Director for the US Department of Labor. He was the recipient of the Phillip Arnow award in 2004 which is the highest award given in the DOL. He continued as a consultant after his retirement, worked for the DNC, and was also involved in city government once fully retiring and moving to Florida.
For the past several years he has been a resident of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, enjoying retirement with the friends he has collected along his journey of life. Jim also traveled the world with his friends from Australia to all of Europe to South America to spending summers in France. His life was full of travel, sunshine, wine and friends.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and older brother John McMullen, who passed away April 16, 2023. He is survived by his younger brother Bill (Linda) McMullen and sister-in-law, Marilyn McMullen. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews who loved and admired him: Jayne Ann (Eric Swander) Virostko, Mandy (Brian) Hopton, Holly (Dan) Hazzard, JR (Angie) McMullen, Todd (Monica) McMullen, Michael McMullen, Rob (Candice) McMullen, and Brock (Alesha) McMullen. His great nieces and nephews were also impacted greatly by Uncle Jim: Emily and Jonathon Virostko, Mark Swander; Kaci, Brandon, Derron, and Kayli Hazzard; BJ, Jacob and Kayla Hopton; Ty and Jay McMullen, Megan, Kyle and Kolby Fischer; Carter and Camryn McMullen; Wyatt and Jaxon McMullen.
Jim’s family wishes to thank lifelong special friends, Brion Cook, Marsha McAlister and Dr. David Haddox for their extraordinary care during the last few months of his life. They traveled together to Alaska and Vancouver in September and then were his advocates and caregivers from his diagnosis of Acute Myeloid Leukemia to treatment, hospitalization and ultimate passing.
The family is also thankful for the care he received on the University of Miami Hospital 11th Floor and from Dr. Watts and his team from the Sylvester Cancer Center.
Services for Jim will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 24. 2024 at Cottrell-Gooch Funeral Home in Rosedale, IN. Visitation for family and friends will take place prior to the services from 12 - 2pm.
Per his wishes, cremation rites were accorded and entrusted to Kraeer-Fairchild Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Fort Lauderdale. Jim’s remains will be buried near family in the Rosedale Cemetery following the services.

He was a retired maintenance man for Chesty Foods and Burger King. He was born August 20, 1943, in Burkesville, Kentucky to the late Arthur Lee Vibbert and Ada Pernie Abney Vibbert. His wife Gladys Rogers Vibbert whom he married December 25, 1963, preceded him in death June 5, 1970. On August 26, 1978, he married Jean Lang Vibbert and she survives. Also surviving, daughter, Laura (Joe) Ingram of Terre Haute; son, Tony Vibbert of Indianapolis; loved ones, Robert Roberts of Terre Haute, Leigh Ann Davis of Riley, Carole Sekerak of Paris, Illinois, Lori Prouse of Chrisman, Illinois, Angie Sekerak of Terre Haute, Penny Zale of Carmel and Holly Horned of Terre Haute; 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; his faithful companion Ratchet. He was preceded in death by a daughter Theresa Davis and six siblings.
He was a member of Oregon Baptist Church and Bass Masters of Terre Haute, and a former member of Prairieton Masonic lodge 178. He served on the Fire Crew of Terre Haute Action Track and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. He raced Quarter Midgets and enjoyed fishing and bowling. He cooked for Sati-Babi for nearly 50 years.
Services will be 2:00 pm Friday, December 22, at Cottrell-Gooch Funeral Home, 281 N. Main Street, Rosedale. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. Visitation is 12 noon until 2:00 pm Friday at Cottrell-Gooch Funeral Home.

She married William “Bill” Thompson on March 6, 1993, and he survives.
Mary graduated from Rosedale High School in 1967. Mary worked many years at Greencastle Nursing Home, Techno Trim and Wal-Mart. Mary is survived by her siblings, Jimmy Fox of Rosedale, Jo Anne Fox of Roachdale; her children, Lori (Larry) Nauman and Lonnie (Kathy) Morlan all of Fillmore; stepdaughter, Jackie (Joseph) Gregory of Tuscumbia, Alabama; five grandchildren, Gregory, Ryan, Derrick, Kaitlin, and Keyara; 13 great-grandchildren whom she loved very much!!
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Janice Allen and son Larry Morlan, Jr.
Services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, October 24, at Cottrell-Gooch Funeral Home, 281 N. Main Street, Rosedale. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. The visitation is from 12 noon until 2:00 pm on Tuesday.

(James) Ornduff of Sullivan and Laura (Michael McHaney) Broviak of Iuka, Illinois; siblings, June Herzog of Rosedale, Cathy Toms of South Vienna, Ohio, Monty Chaney of Brazil and Rosemarie Lawson of Rosedale; four grandchildren, Damien Van Black of Carmel, Timothy Rauch of Greencastle, Daniel (Brianna) Rauch of Loveland, Ohio and Sarah Bilovesick of Las Vegas, Nevada; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Shirley Griffith, Marylou Myers, and Barbie Belcher.
She was a graduate of Rosedale High School. She was a member of the Rosedale Baptist Church, Red Hat Society, Parke County Home Economics Club and Clinton Senior Citizens.

She was a 1975 graduate of Rosedale High School and a graduate of Indiana Business College. She was an active volunteer with the Parke-Vermillion Human Shelter. She enjoyed reading and gardening. She loved being a Mimi and loved her dogs.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Janie Neff Harrison whom he married March 28, 1970 in North Terre Haute. Also surviving, one son, Ryan Harrison of Rosedale; one daughter, Kathie (Kevin) Sivertson of Terre Haute; two sisters, Donna Harrison of Terre Haute and Betty Paddock of Zionsville; four grandchildren, Rachel (Matt) Marion, Renee Sivertson, Lexi Harrison and Addisyn Harrison; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Harry, Tom, and Gary Harrison.
He was a 1960 graduate of Rosedale High School and he served in the United States Marines during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Terre Haute. He loved to read and spend time with his grandchildren.

Marjorie Lee (Davis) Stevenson - January 22, 1941 - September 19, 2023

Obituary Preview: Marjorie Lee Stevenson, 82, entered into the sheltering arms of the Lord Jesus on September 19, 2023. During her life she was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Marjorie was born January 22, 1941. She was the daughter of Florence and Jesse Wayne Davis. Both preceded her in death.
Marjorie married her true love, Fred Stevenson in June of 1959. They were married for 55 years before his death.
Marjorie worked alongside Fred on the family farm she loved and lived on for over 50 years. They raised a family, crops and commercial strawberries for many years. She was a selfless helper and caregiver to family and friends. She was a Christian example to her children, whom she loved dearly.
Marjorie is survived by her three children; Ramona (Randy) Weise, Rebecca (Terry) Mace and Fred (Barbara) Stevenson Jr.
Marjorie is also survived by eight grandchildren; Gary (Jamie) Herb, Nathaniel Mace, Fred (Kendra) Stevenson III, Greg Herb, Emily (Charles) Athey, Crystal (Justin) Hoover, Madison (Eli) Stevenson and Glen (Angel) Mace.
She was great grandma to Melanie Minkner, Zelda and Ezra Athey, Elise Hoover and (baby Hoover), Abel and Jensen Mace and Autumn, Havoc and Rosalie Stevenson. Other survivors include two sisters, Lois Stultz and Lillian Farrington plus several nieces and nephews. Along with her husband and parents, Marjorie was preceded in death by two infant sisters and a baby brother Leo
Visitation for Marjorie will be held on Friday, September 22, at Cottrell-Gooch Funeral Home, 281 N. Main Street, Rosedale, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Services will follow at 1:00 pm with the Reverend Bill Herb officiating. Burial will take place at the Stevenson Cemetery following the service.

Michelle (Michael) Gallagher of Rosedale, Sherri Elizabeth (Larry Jenkins, Jr.) Sauer- Jenkins of Rosedale; four siblings, Kathy Hardesty of Terre Haute, Jerry Carrithers of Rosedale, Debbie Yeargin of Rosedale, and Doug Carrithers of Fontanet; six grandchildren, Rowan, Hunter, Rylann, Seth, Regann and Braylyn; several nieces and nephews.
He was a graduate of Terre Haute North High school and a member of the Sons of American Legion Tony Kashon Post 290 in Rosedale. He was a hard worker. He enjoyed fishing and deer hunting.
Services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, September 5 at Cottrell- Gooch Funeral Home, 281 N Main Street Rosedale, with Pastor Keith B. McIntyre officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Cottrell-Gooch Funeral Home.

Harrison of Rosedale; two daughters, Amanda (Scott) Feuquay of Rosedale and Heather McCullough of Rosedale; a brother, Dick (Janie) Harrison of Rosedale; two sisters, Betty Paddock of Carmel and Donna Harrison of Terre Haute; five grandchildren, Blake, Lane, Jaxton, Luci and Ellie; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry Harrison, and Tom D. Harrison.
He was a 1967 graduate of Rosedale High School. He was a member of the former Rosedale Masonic lodge #259 now Terre Haute Social lodge #86. He enjoyed spending time with his family and working on his farm. He requested no service.
A celebration of Gary’s life is being planned.

She was a 1962 graduate of Rosedale High School. She attended the Rosedale United Methodist Church. She was active in 4-H, she enjoyed farming, cattle and her two donkeys. She was a former member of the Wabash Valley Corvette Club. She adored her grandchildren.
Services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, June 7, at Cottrell-Gooch Funeral Home, 281 N. Main Street, Rosedale, with Pastor Perry Mager officiating. The visitation will be from 12 noon until 2:00 pm Wednesday. The burial will be at Rosedale Cemetery at a later date.

W. Wayne Wheat of Louisville, KY, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on May 16, 2023, at the age of 71. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Wayne was born on January 19, 1952, in Terre Haute, IN, to Eleanor J. Wheat McPike and James W. Wheat. From an early age, Wayne exhibited a passion for sports and community, while also working in support of the family Lumbar Yard business. He was a Boy Scout achieving Eagle Scout rank and was a member of Jaycees, all of which shaped his hard-working, loyal and positive approach to life.
Wayne attended Rosedale High School, where he graduated in 1970. During his high school years, Wayne's athletic prowess was evident as he excelled in baseball, basketball and track, leaving a lasting impact on teammates and coaches.
After graduation, Wayne continued his educational journey at Pepperdine University, where he played college baseball and basketball. His dedication and talent led him to further pursue his passion for baseball at Indiana State University, where he graduated in 1975 with a degree in Physical Education and Criminology. Wayne's time as a collegiate athlete not only shaped his skills but also cultivated his remarkable work ethic and determination.
Following his studies, Wayne embarked on a successful career at Duke Energy, where he dedicated more than 20 years of his life. Along the way he held the role of gas controller in Houston, TX and steadily rose through the ranks, ultimately retiring as a Plant Area Supervisor in Ohio and Maryland.
Outside of his professional life, Wayne found the greatest joy in his family. He was a loving husband to his wife of 47 years, Debra G. Wheat. Their enduring partnership was a testament to their love and support for each other. Wayne's children, Stacey (Clint) Wheat Dickens and Curtis (Cassidy) Wheat, were his pride and joy. He cherished them, instilling in them the values of hard work, integrity, and compassion. Wayne's love extended to his six grandchildren, Keeley, Morgan, and Olivia Dickens, and Case, Cade, and Cam Wheat.
In addition to his immediate family, Wayne is survived by his sisters, Kathy (Jim) Fagg, Sarah (Gary) Stevenson, and Becky (Loy) Ash. Their bond as siblings was unbreakable, and they shared many laughter-filled moments and supported each other through life's ups and downs.
Wayne is preceded in death by his mother, Eleanor J. Wheat McPike and father, James W. Wheat. As well as his brother, Jay Wheat.
Wayne will be remembered for his quick wit, competitive spirit, and positive mantras. We will forever carry Wayne's spirit within us, cherishing the love and memories he gifted us. His legacy will live on in our hearts forever.
Funeral services to honor Wayne's life will be held on Monday May 22, beginning with Visitation at 12pm and Funeral Service at 2pm, at Cottrell Gooch Funeral Home, 281 N Main St, Rosedale, IN 47874. The burial will take place immediately following at Memory Garden, 936 Walton St, Rockville, IN 47872. She is survived by one son, Jonathan S. Brant of Rosedale and one sister, Miriam (Norm) Zwitter of Tennessee. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ernest Stokes her twin and Louie E. Stokes.
She was a member of Barbour Avenue Worship Center. She was raised in Cuba and Argentina, the child of a missionary couple. She came back to the United States as a teenager and went to Georgia Baptist School of Nursing. She later received her BSN at Indiana State University. After her retirement she enjoyed volunteering at Union Hospital for 25 years. She and Bill owned a family farm where she enjoyed taking care of the one acre strawberry patch. She had a heart of gold and worked hard her entire life.
Services will be 12:00 pm Monday, May 1, at Barbour Avenue Worship Center, 1401 Barbour Ave, Terre Haute, Indiana with Pastor Bob and Pastor Kathy Roush officiating. Visitation will be from 11am-12 pm Monday at Barbour Avenue Worship Center. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Terre Haute.

She was a 1955 graduate of Paul C. Schulte High School in Terre Haute and worked for Indiana Bell Telephone. She was a former member of St. Leonard Catholic Church in West Terre Haute. Kenny was born, October 29, 1932 in Fontanet, Indiana to Alfred and Mabel Tilford. He married his high school sweetheart, Ramona Herb Tilford on November 25, 1953 and she survives. Survivors also include four children, Doug (Cathy) Tilford, Tammy (Rick) Weir, Dan Tilford and Pam (Bill) Lage; grandchildren, Tara VanWanzeele, Ryan Weir, Adam Weir, Cole Tilford, Cody Tilford, Sean Weir, Caleb Tilford, Alexander Lewis, Caitlyn Parker, Kara Overpeck, and Evan Weir; twenty-one great grandchildren, and one great-great grandson.  In addition to his parents, Kenny was preceded in death by 6 brothers, 3 sisters, 1 son, Robert Wayne Tilford, and 1 granddaughter, Amanda Michelle Lewis.
Graduate of Fontanet High School class of 1950, he earned degrees from Indiana State University and Ball State University. Over the 37 years that followed, Kenny served in roles he loved as a teacher, coach and principal. He had the privilege of working in school systems for Bainbridge, Cloverdale, Turkey Run, North Vermillion, Clinton Central and retired as principal of South Putnam.
He served Jesus. As a leader he served by example. He was a mentor and dear friend to many. His love for his Savior, his wife and his family was unconditional and he strived to put others above himself. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He purposefully lived his life in such a way that the number of lives he impacted will never be fully known on this side of Heaven.
Services will be held at the Cottrell-Gooch Funeral Home, in Rosedale, Thursday, April 20, 2023. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM with services following at 2:00 PM. Bill Herb will officiate with interment at Rosedale Cemetery.

He was born June 22, 1947, in Terre Haute, Indiana to the late Robert McMullen and Mary Ellen Clark McMullen.
John is survived by his wife Marilyn of 53 years; children Jayne Ann Virostko (Eric Swander) of Rosedale; Mandy Hopton (Brian) of Fontanet; Holly Hazzard (Dan) of Lyford; JR McMullen (Angie) of Connersville; Todd McMullen (Monica) of Greenwood; and Michael McMullen of Indianapolis. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren: Emily and Jonathon Virostko, Mark Swander, BJ, Jacob, and Kayla Hopton, Kaci, Brandon, Derron, and Kayli Hazzard, Ty and Jay McMullen, Megan (Kyle) Fischer, & Carter and Camryn McMullen, along with one great-grandchild, Kolby Fischer. He is also survived by brothers James McMullen of Fort Lauderdale, FL and Bill McMullen (Linda) of Rosedale.
He was a 1965 graduate of Rosedale High School. Active in community affairs, he was currently serving as the President of the Rosedale Town Council. He was a member and Past Master of the former Rosedale Masonic Lodge #259. He was a founding member of the Rosedale Jaycees and served as editor for the State Jaycee newspaper and was a Statewide Senator for Indiana Jaycees. He had served as President of IBEW Local 725, held the position of Organizer prior to retirement, and was currently serving as the President of the IBEW Retirees Club. He was also a lifelong St. Louis Cardinals fan and was often seen sporting Indiana Hoosiers attire. After retirement he could often be found on an area golf course with his golfing buddies that he considered to be family. He will be missed by many, but especially by his grandchildren. He was their biggest fan, traveling all over the state to support them as they participated in their various activities.
Services will be 11:00 am Friday, April 21, at Cottrell-Gooch Funeral Home, 281 N. Main Street, Rosedale, with Bill Herb officiating. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. Visitation is 5-8 pm Thursday and one hour prior to the funeral service at Cottrell-Gooch Funeral Home.
Memorials should friends so desire, may be made to Parke County Resource Center-Rosedale Location, PO Box 183, Rosedale, IN 47874. Donations may also be made in his memory to the Rosedale Forever Fund in care of the Parke County Community Foundation, PO Box 276, Rockville, IN 47872.

Seba was a 1944 graduate of Bridgeton High School. He entered the Army on November 25, 1944. during his three years of active duty he earned a Bronze Battle Star - European Theater and Army of Occupation Medal – Germany. He received an honorable discharge on July 30, 1946. Upon return home, he took up work on the family farm. He served as a member and officer of various farm and community organizations such as Farm Bureau, N.F.O., P.C.I. and the B.C.B.A., and worked hard to help promote Bridgeton and the Parke County Covered Bridge Festival. Seba was also a proud member of the S.A.R.
He was a member and deacon of Friendly Grove Baptist Church. Just, kind and generous, Seba and his wife helped and encouraged many people in their lifetimes, including their grateful children who miss them very much.
He is survived by his children: Celia Case (Dave Gammon), Max (Betsi) Case, and Susan (Kevin) Carr; four grandchildren: Cora (Travis) Maloney, James Levi (Kimberly) Herzog, Richard “K.C.” (Samantha) Carr, and Seba Zachariah “Zach” Carr; and by six great-grandchildren, and many beloved neices and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother George Case and his sister Cora Colleen Case Roberts.

He was blessed with nine grandchildren, Kaddie (Chris) Gruener, Sidney Fulford, Tyler Fulford, Brogan Cottom, Emma Cottom, Ali Cottom, Eli Fulford, Abby Cottom, and Elly Cottom. He had two great-granddaughters, Bristol Gruener and Berkley Gruener; survived by brothers, Jerry Cottom and James Cottom; sisters, Martha (Bud) Ward, Venda (Lee) Blansett and Nancy Fauscett. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and extended Abernathy family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Van Cottom, grandson, Darryl Fulford, great-grandson, Levi Robert Gruener and sister-in-law, Marie Abernathy.
Services will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, January 4, at Cottrell-Gooch Funeral Home, 281 N. Main Street, Rosedale with visitation from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm. Burial is in Rosedale Cemetery.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Black and two sisters, Alice Waller and Ruth Mae McMurtrie.
He was a 1953 graduate of Rosedale High School and a member of Rosedale Baptist Church. He was strong, full of life, and able to do anything. He was a problem solver, a furniture maker, he built two homes for his family, he knew everyone in two counties and was well liked and respected. He loved to mow a yard, bush hog a ditch, cut firewood, mushroom hunt, play euchre, go west on vacations and be with his grandkids.
A private burial will be in Rosedale Cemetery. A celebration of life will take place in March. The family will release details at a later date.

She was a 1958 graduate of Otter Creek High School. She was a member of Clinton Assembly of God Church. She enjoyed crocheting and gardening.
