Obituary Preview: Sobieski - “Nothing but a breath — a comma — separates life from life everlasting.”
Jim Busche passed away unexpectedly at his home on April 24, 2024 of natural causes. Do you know who the leading scorer for the Jaguar Varsity Hockey team during tryouts was? Jim does. (On-going family joke)
Jim was born September 13, 1968. He was a 1987 graduate of Ashwaubenon High School and later earned his Bachelor’s of science in business from University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. Jim grew up in Ashwaubenon with the greatest neighbors and friends. He would tell you how he “dominated” in baseball, football and fishing. His sharp sense of style was honored on “Jim Busche Day” at Ashwaubenon High School when students and teachers dressed in sweatpants, t-shirts, and flannels.
Jim began his business, Local Boy Lawn Care after graduating college where he worked until February of 2003 when he sustained a life altering snowboarding accident, leaving him with a traumatic brain injury. Jim loved good music, could write lyrics off the top of his head, “mind box” and could belt out a random tune like no other. He had an amazing imagination and sense of humor. He brought laughter and a positive vibe to everyone he encountered. He would share a joke or regale you with a story about his greatness and you would laugh until you cried. He had a sense of gratefulness and never complained about all of the things his brain injury took away. He always pointed out the positives even when they were hard to find.
Jim is survived by his children, Talia and Lilith, his fur children, Yeti and Izzy, his mother, Mary Jean, siblings, Jeannine (Dan) Devroy and Colleen Busche. Jim is also survived by his niece and nephews, Logan, Marlee, Aaron, and Austin Devroy. He was lucky enough to have a fur nephew, Reagan, who became his buddy as of recently. Emmet H. Weber - April 03, 1926 - April 14, 2024

Departed: 04/14/2024 (De Pere)
Obituary Preview: Emmet H. Weber, age 98 of De Pere, passed away peacefully in the loving arms of Ruth, his wife of fifty-two years, on Sunday, April 14, 2024.
The son of Joseph and Genevieve (Moran) Weber he was born in Appleton, Wisconsin, on April 3, 1926. Emmet recognized a calling to serve others early in life. He was ordained as a Catholic priest and ministered in the Green Bay area for twenty-three years. During his priesthood, he pursued academic excellence, earning a Bachelor’s degree, two Master's degrees, and a pilot’s license. Known for his joy for life, he cherished his role as an uncle, doting on his nieces and nephews, and teaching them and others the joy of water skiing.
After receiving permission from Rome, Emmet was laicized in 1971. He was then united in marriage to his beloved wife, Ruth P. Tappa, on Dec. 26, 1971, at Old St. Joseph Catholic Church in De Pere. Within their first five years of marriage, Ruth and Emmet had three children and Emmet earned a PhD in Education Administration. Emmet had a deep sense of gratitude for his faith and family, a boisterous laugh and a quiet sense of humor that accompanied a deep and intentional zest for life. He taught at Sacred Heart Seminary in Oneida, at St. Norbert College in De Pere and was the principal at Claremont High School in Minnesota. While raising his children, he served the School District of Beaver Dam, including as principal of the Junior High, the Senior High, and Assistant Superintendent. In supposed “retirement” Emmet became a City of Beaver Dam Alderperson as well as a Dodge County Supervisor. Already well into his 70s he briefly emerged from retirement to become the principal of Mayville High School serving in an interim role during their time of need.
Emmet loved to attend church, to camp, and to travel with his family. He was a voracious reader, always faithful in his prayers, and took great joy in daily exercise and showing gratitude towards others, even after dementia began to appear. Still going into the swimming pool at 98, and even if all other words failed him, he never forgot how to smile and say “Thank You”. He showed others his faith by how he served and lived, always with his wife tenderly by his side. Emmet and Ruth had an extraordinary marriage. Their deep devotion and love for one another was an example for all who knew them. Emmet was self-conscious of the small space between his two front teeth, but his enormous, infectious smile often grew so big that it could not be hidden. If you ever were so lucky as to be held in his strong hand, you knew what it was like to be raised up. He shared his love freely with not just his family but also his community, building relationships, leading countless youth groups including the boy scouts where he’d earned an Eagle Scout as a young man, and building Kiwanis clubs becoming Lt. Governor, serving and sharing throughout his life. As the Kiwanians say, Smile and the World Smiles with You, Sing a Song!
Survivors include his wife Ruth, his children: Joseph Weber, Stillwater, MN; David (Laura) Weber, De Pere, WI; Dorothy (Scott) Paler, Middleton, WI; grandchildren: Emma, Andrew, Timothy, Henry, Leo, Emmet, Lucy, and Maggie. Other close family include Terry Weber, Mary Ellen Lamm, Levonne Tappa, Larry Tappa and many nieces and nephews. Emmet was preceded in death by his parents as well his sister, Lucille, and his brothers, Tom, Robert, and Kenneth Weber. We rejoice knowing he is reunited with his family, and so many others that he loved so deeply.
Finally, the family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the caregivers from Home Instead and Unity Hospice for all their considerable help.

Robert "Robbie" William McMenomy - December 09, 1983 - April 05, 2024

Departed: 04/05/2024 (De Pere)
Obituary Preview: Robert William McMenomy passed away peacefully on April 5, 2024, after his 8-month battle with metastatic melanoma. He was only 40 years old, but he impacted more people than most do in a lifetime.
Known to many as Robbie, he was born in Snellville, GA, to the most wonderful parents, Pat and Geri. He grew up as the third of four boys, and he idolized and cherished his brothers throughout his life. Robbie’s childhood was filled with family “friendly” competitions in the house and backyard. He loved to draw, play sports, and watch his favorite sports teams, the Minnesota Vikings and the Atlanta Braves. In high school, he excelled in football and tennis and began some lifelong friendships with some amazing men.
Robbie went on to play football as a tight end at the United States Air Force Academy. He became part of the Bolt Brotherhood, which was an important part of his life. His classmates showed their love and support for Robbie during his cancer battle and gave him strength every day. In 2006, Robbie graduated from the Air Force Academy with a degree in Civil Engineering. He went on to serve 5 years, including a deployment to Al Dhafra Air Force Base during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom in support of the Coalition Forces. Although Robbie was quiet about his military experience, he was extremely proud of attending the Air Force Academy and serving our country.
After serving in the Air Force, Robbie worked for Shell Oil Company and continued until his passing. He met many incredible people throughout his employment. The Shell family continued to show unwavering support during his cancer diagnosis.
Robbie met his true love, Meaghan, through her brother while at graduation weekend at the Air Force Academy. They loved each other deeply and always brought out the best in one another. They married in 2011 and had four daughters: Grace, Lucy, Clara, and Ellie. Robbie’s daughters were the light of his life. He loved being a dad, and his girls always put a smile on his face. His daughters have many great memories, but they will always remember Dad’s garage parties, him bringing them to the golf course, and playing board games. He was an amazing dad.
Robbie lived his life with so much purpose and joy. At a young age, his parents instilled a strong Catholic faith that he carried until his last breath. When you were around Robbie, you wanted to be better. He had a way of bringing out the best in people. He loved organizing games, being on the golf course, having friends at the house, and being with his family. Robbie was full of kindness, always selfless, and a fierce competitor. To know him was to truly love him. As we are sad that he is not with us anymore, we know he is no longer in pain. Robbie is now in heaven, playing catch with his nephew, Anthony.
Survived by his adoring wife, Meaghan, loving daughters, Grace, Lucy, Clara, and Ellie; his parents, Pat and Geri; brothers, Joe (Derelle), Charlie (Jessica), Patrick (Blake); in laws, Tom and Sheri Durkin, Tom (Laurie), Caitlin (Andrew); nieces and nephews, Colin, Haley, Mason, Lucas, Henry, Charlotte, Violet, Tommy, Louie, Nell, Jack, Charlie, Finn. Predeceased by his grandparents, Uncle David McMenomy, and nephew, Anthony Durkin.
Family and friends may visit at St. Matthew Catholic Church, located at 130 St Matthew Street in Green Bay, on Friday, April 12, from 4:00-7:00pm.
