Graveside services will be Thursday, 10:00 am at Driver Cemetery, Teague, Texas.A.D. “Sonny” Richardson was born on May 6, 1937, in Teague, Texas, to Carmie Lee and Andrew Dillsworth Richardson. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, LaJuan Richardson, and his daughters, Karen Chasteen and Juana Ann Richardson.Sonny spent most of his childhood in Donie, Texas, where he roamed the countryside freely on his horse. His passion for riding horses continued into his adult life and he could often be seen roaming the countryside day or night on one of his paint horses. He once got caught in the rain and a police officer gave him a ride while he led his horse alongside the patrol car to find cover from the rain and a phone to call LaJuan. She hurried to get his truck and trailer and raced to his rescue with the trailer gate swinging in the wind. This is one of the many shenanigans that earned them the nicknames, Bonnie and Clyde.A.D. was a proficient backhoe operator and he and LaJuan owned and operated a pipeline maintenance business for many years in Mexia, Texas, named A.D. Richardson Contractors. He also was a part-time rancher and he and LaJuan spent countless hours driving around the pasture counting his cows. A.D. could often be seen with a crate of hound dogs, loaded and ready to hunt. He had a life-long love for fox hunting, and he and his buddies shared many good times listening to their dogs howl. Sonny never met a stranger, and he made it his mission to talk to everyone. A.D. “Sonny” Richardson, 86, went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 8, 2023.
Visitation will be held, Wednesday, 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Corley-Porter Funeral Home in The Wortham Chapel, Wortham, Texas. Graveside services will be Thursday, 10:00 am at Driver Cemetery, Teague, Texas.
A.D. “Sonny” Richardson was born on May 6, 1937, in Teague, Texas, to Carmie Lee and Andrew Dillsworth Richardson. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, LaJuan Richardson, and his daughters, Karen Chasteen and Juana Ann Richardson.
Sonny spent most of his childhood in Donie, Texas, where he roamed the countryside freely on his horse. This is one of the many shenanigans that earned them the nicknames, Bonnie and Clyde.
A.D. was a proficient backhoe operator and he and LaJuan owned and operated a pipeline maintenance business for many years in Mexia, Texas, named A.D. Richardson Contractors. He also was a part-time rancher and he and LaJuan spent countless hours driving around the pasture counting his cows.
