Obituary Preview: Services for Jerry John Herrera, 36, will be at noon Wednesday, January 13, 2021, at St. Francis Church. Father Lalo Espinoza will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. A rosary will be recited at 12:30 P.M. Wednesday, January 13, 2021, at St. Francis Church.
Herrera died December 29, 2020, in Gallup. He was born May 5, 1983, in Gallup.
Herrera received his GED and high school diploma. He was employed with Albertsons, Coca-Cola, and the City of Gallup. He was also a self-employed martial arts instructor.
Survivors include his wife Raysha Plummer Herrera; sons Mario Romero, Xavier Benton, and Azazel Herrera; parents Jerry F. Herrera and Louisa Ruiz Herrera; brother Felix Lopez; and sisters Sherry Chavira and Desiree Herrera Lucero.
Herrera was preceded in death by John S. Herrera, John Bertelle, Priscilla Sandoval Bertelle, Julian S. Ruiz, John Jr. Herrera, Joepaul Herrera, and Jackie Lynn Torres.
Pallbearers will be Xavier Benton, James Chavira, Jeremy Herrera, Ryan Lucero, Edward Rodriquez, and Mario Romero. Honorary pallbearers will by Azazel Herrera, Lexie Herrera, and David Romero.

Obituary Preview: Nathan Davidson recently passed away after a brief visit home for Christmas. He was born March 7, 1988 and died December 26, 2020.
He is survived by his parents, Scott and Judy Davidson, of Jamestown, New Mexico and his brother, Joel Davidson, of Tempe, Arizona. He is also survived by two aunts; Melodee Hallett of Salida, Colorado and Donna Campbell of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his uncle, James Michael Hallett of Salida, Colorado and his grandparents Severn and Jacqueline Hallett of Sherman, Texas and Gretchen (Davidson) Wise of Denver, Colorado.
Nathan's education included Rehoboth Christian School, Home School, and Gallup Middle College. He participated in many school and community activities to include Gallup City League soccer and basketball, youth soccer referee, Home School and Rehoboth Choirs. He was active in his church and youth activities. He was also active as a volunteer firefighter with the Whispering Cedars Fire Department.
He moved to Farmington, New Mexico where he held several positions in sales, particularly mobile devices. He attained many records of achievement in his sales positions, but a successful day to him was in helping his customers and co-workers.
Nathan loved the mountains of Colorado and the cabin that he and his family built log by log! His other interests were all types of music. He also enjoyed gaming with friends around the country or just being with good friends. To him, everyone was special. He had a way of seeing the beauty and talents in each person. He touched so many in his short lifespan by his beautiful spirit.
Nathan's earth suit will be nestled in his beloved mountains, but his spirit will soar in Heaven with Jesus, his Lord and Saviour. A virtual memorial will be available after January 12, 2021 at rehobothcrc@weebly.com

Mrs. James lived for the Lord and her family. She was a long-time secretary for Immanuel Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling, and camping, she was a devoted homemaker that cherished her family, especially her grandchildren, She was deeply loved and will be missed.
She is survived by her children: Danita James, Kevin James, and Crystal Duffy. Her grandchildren: Steve Baca, Kyle James, Brent James, Kaytlyn Wiggins, Her great-grandchildren: Jaidyn Baca, Dylan James, Morgan James, Madisyn James, Ryan James, Hananiah Baca, Ethan Begaye, and Amber Begaye. Her sister: Donna Baldwin. Her very close cousins: Floyd Parker, Donald Ray Parker, and Roy Lee Parker, along with numerous other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Loyd James, that passed away on December 6, 2006. Her parents: George Parker and Freda Robbins Parker. Her son: Kenneth Loyd James. And her siblings: Pete Parker and Geneva Carrier.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday October 17, 2020 at 11:00 AM at the Immanuel Baptist Church in Milan, NM with Steve Baca officiating. Burial will follow at Grants Memorial Park.

Obituary Preview: Reverend Taube D. Jenkins passed away unexpectedly on September 18, 2020 in Grants, New Mexico. She was 73 years of age. Taube was born on August 29, 1947 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Taube was “born a Jew and died a Jew believing in Jesus”. She spent her life in the service of God and her community. She was a devoted Minister and Bishop with Mt. Taylor Community Fellowship Church. She was a former paramedic in Prince William County, Virginia and Prince George County, Maryland. She assisted in the consecrations of Bishops in Nigeria and Mexico. Taube spent fifteen years as the head Chaplin for Cibola General Hospital. She was loved and will be missed.
She is survived by her husband Raymond Jenkins. Her children: Jason and Stacey Janet, Shana Kerey, Arlen and Megan Janet, Caasi Janet, Tracy and Bill Papadopoulos, and Amy and Scott Vejcik.  Her grandchildren: Britton, Sophie, Alexi, Jadeh and David Durham, Alaina, Madelyn, Kaela, Christian, Dejah, Milti, Afroditi, Aranxia, Kataryna, Maximillian, Isabella, Dominic, Finian, and Michael Collins.  Her great-grandson: Noah. Her best friend Sandy Haddox. Her sister Janna Wallen and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Lois Ann Heymann Markowitz, and Herman Markowitz and brother; Eric Lee Markowitz.
A graveside service was held on Tuesday September 22, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Temple Mount Sinai Cemetery in El Paso, Texas with Rabbi Ben Zeidman officiating. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday October 4, 2020 at 4:00 PM at the Grants Rodeo Cow Palace to celebrate her life.
Pallbearers include: Patrick Carroll, Stan Clark, Arlen Janet, Jason Janet, Alexi Kerey, Dejah Kerey, Jonathan Markowitz and Ernest Martinez.

Mr. Welch served in the United States Air Force as a radarman during the Korean conflict. Upon discharge he moved to Beckley, West Virginia. He came to Continental Divide, NM, eventually settling in Gallup, where he was the manager for BF Goodrich Tire & Rubber Company. He was also a talented sewing machine repairman. He was a devoted family man that was loved and will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife Mary Welch. His son; Ben Welch and his wife Janice. His grandchildren; Ben Neil Welch, Angelo Welch, Aaron Welch, Mike Holland, and Jessica Brooks. His great-grandchildren; Leo Welch, Kye Welch, and Mya Welch, Mckenzi Jo Agnes Brooks, Alexis Nachero, Kennedi Lynn Brooks, Donnie Brooks, and Mickey Lee Brooks. His brother; Harold Welch and his wife Shelby. His nephews; Mark Welch, Randy Welch, and Kirk Welch. One niece; Linda Pederson. His sister-in-law Geraldine Welch. His brother-in-law; Manuel Garcia.

She is survived by her daughters Jessica Pena of Grants, N.M. Linda Lopez and her husband Mike of St. Paul MN and their children Miquela, Ariel, Noemi and Aliana Lopez her son O.J. Tomlinson and wife Crystal and their children Alexis and Alex Tomlinson. sister Maryann Martinez and husband Andres of Mora NM, brother Steve Archuleta and wife Stella of Albuquerque NM.
Lorraine graduated from El Rito High School and then Cosmetology School, She worked for the state of NM in Santa Fe. She met Jessie Barela soon after they were married on August 17th 1957. Lorraine was a member of the Elks Lodge. She worked in many different jobs. she owned a shoe store and partnered with her husband in their super markets, Franks Market and Buy Rite, J and L Meats. and then sales at Grants Ford until her retirement. She was a proud member of both Milan and Grants Catholic Churches. Pallbearers will be Gerald Martinez, Greg Martinez Tomas Ontiveros, Jerry Martinez, Shaun Martinez, James Valenzuela and Paul Marez

Bruce Canfield - January 06, 1962 - August 03, 2020

Obituary Preview: Bruce Lee Canfield passed away on August 3, 2020 in Grants, New Mexico.  He was born on January 6, 1962 in Spokane Washington to Floyd and Verna Canfield.
A private service was held for the family.
Bruce was a mechanic by trade, but was involved in the community in many aspects.  He coached little league for several years and thoroughly enjoyed the racing world.  Bruce had a gruff demeanor, but was a great big, soft teddy bear underneath.  If he loved you, he would go to the ends of the earth to look out for you, as was proven when he took in numerous kids who needed a place to stay, a meal, guidance, or a stern talking-to.  He was the best "bonus" dad to so many.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his mother-in-law, Pauline Chavez, his brother-in-law, Zeke (Bernie, Jr.) Bustos, and his niece, Mandy Bustos Martinez.
Bruce is survived by his lifetime best friend, Valerie Chavez, his daughter, Anjelique Chavez (Dallas Fleming), his son, Brandon Canfield (Raquel Gabaldon), his granddaughter, Kylie Fleming, and in October 2020 his newest granddaughter, Reylee Ann Fleming.  He is also survived by his brothers, Larry and Vern, his sisters, Sharon, Paula, Gail and Linda, all of Washington State, his sister-in-law, Cindi Stevick (Chris) of Arizona and Jeanenne Bustos of Grants, NM along with many nieces and nephews who adored their "Funcle" (fun uncle). A huge thank you goes out to Bruce's many dear and close friends, who he treasured.  A special shout out goes to Mike Trujillo - thanks for always looking out for Bruce!!!

Along with several nephews and nieces that also survive her.
She was preceded in death by her husband; Eli C. Garcia. Her parents; Jose Ezequiel and Lucia Mondragon. Her son; Randy Garcia. Her granddaughter; Christine Marie Garcia.
A committal service will be held on Thursday July 23, 2020 at 1:30 PM at Santa Fe National Cemetery.

She was loved and will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her children; Albert Montes formerly of San Diego, California, and Linda Martinez of Sulphur, Oklahoma. 7 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents Jose and Micaela Saucedo. One son; Gilbert Saucedo. Her siblings; Trinidad Saucedo, Gabriel Saucedo Sr., Fidel Saucedo, Robert “Bob” Saucedo, Richard Saucedo, Josie Estrada, and Dolores Giron.

Victor as many knew him, learned the trade of plumbing and later opened and ran his own plumbing business for many years. He enjoyed playing horseshoes, Old Timers baseball, hunting and fishing with his family and Compadres.
Victor was proceeded in death by his parents, wife Mercedes Campos, a daughter and a grandson.
Survivors include 3 daughters, 6 grandchildren, many great, and great-great grandchildren, several brothers and sister, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Victoriano was laid to rest at Hillcrest Cemetery in Gallup, New Mexico.

Obituary Preview: Cip Lucero passed away on May 10, 2020 in Grants, New Mexico, He was 66 years of age. He was born on March 24, 1954 in La Madera, New Mexico.
Mr. Lucero was a retired heavy equipment operator with the New Mexico Sate Highway Department. He was a car enthusiast, loving his 1968 Chevy Impala, and his yellow SSR. He enjoyed leatherwork, riding his motorcycle. He enjoyed meals at his favorite spots Canton Café, and El Ranchero Restaurant. He was a jokester with a huge sense of humor. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren at their sporting events. His daily calls to family members will be missed. Cip was deeply loved and will never be forgotten.
He is survived by his wife Liz Lucero. Two daughters; DeeAnn Manzanares (Manuel Jr.) Lydia Lucero (Bernie Sena Sr.). Four grandchildren; ALyssa “Pumpkin” Manzanares (Brandon Hernandez) Izeyah “Bug” Manzanares, Bernie “Boo-boo” Sena Jr., and Nathan “Nay nay” Sena. His brothers; Johnny Lucero Sr. (Anna), and Elmo Pena. His sibling in-laws; Orlando Esparza (Melba), Carlos Esparza (Diane), Ernest Esparza (Vera), Tuna Esparza (Paula Hill), Francisco Esparza, Richard Esparza (Bob), and Dorothy Romero. He is survived by his children; Ted Moore, Maxine Monte and her husband James Spidle, Ginger Gonzales and her wife Angel, and Virgil Brown. 8 grandchildren; Dyla, Dj, Arianna, KayLee, Anna, JJ, Dakota, and Natalie. 7 great-grandchildren. His siblings; Lenore Hoskie and her husband Reid, Leroy Monte, Rita Montoya, Jeanette Saunders, Roberta Begay and her husband Herbert, Robert McBride and his wife Vivian. Barbara was a lifelong resident of Grants and retired from Grants-Cibola County Schools in 2001.  She was a die-hard Pirate and Dallas Cowboy fan.
Barbara was preceded in death and is rejoicing in heaven with her Parents, Timo and Mela Saavedra.  Mother-in-Law Francis Hartman.  Brothers, Timoteo Saavedra and Gilbert Chavez.  Numerous Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.
Services will be Thursday, January 23 with a Rosary being recited in honor of Barbara at 10:30am, followed by the Mass of the Christian burial at 11:00am at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church with Fr Alberto Avella presiding.  A reception to celebrate the life of Barbara will take place at the Knights of Columbus following services.

Ms. Flo was deeply loved and will be missed.
She is survived by daughter, Vicki Gonzales and husband, Fred. Son; JD Moya and wife Gale. 5 grandchildren; Jolene (David) Buoniconti, Jaime (Scott) Lavit, Kristy Moya, Sandy (Kyle) James, and Justin (Christina )Moya. 14 great-grandchildren; Andre, Davon, Alyssa, Ashton, Adason, Peyton, Presley, Paxton, Jade, Dylan, Jaxon, Tristen, Ryan, and Ella.
