All who wish to come celebrate and remember the life of Jack are encouraged to wear casual clothing. Jeans, boots and overalls are encouraged, suits are unwelcome.
Beginning sometime prior to 2015, Jack knew he was not well however, the cause was not diagnosed until 2016. It began as myeloma, mutating to myeloid leukemia with several subsequent mutations. In July of 2018 Jack underwent a bone marrow transplant. The transplant was successful for about 4 months, after which another mutation occurred. He was put on a newly released targeted drug and it put the leukemia into remission for about 2 years. After that time, once again, the leukemia mutated. He was given more chemotherapy with moderate success. He was accepted into a clnical trial in April at MD Anderson and was hopeful for the future. Throughout the seven years of treatments Jack received many donor platelets to help his body fight. He fell April 17th. The fall caused a subdural hematoma from which he even with donor platelets, couldn’t fight. His long and valient struggle ended. We are at peace knowing he is finally able to rest.
Over the last seven years the many nurses, doctors, and staff at OU Medical Center, Stephenson Cancer Center, and his transplant team provided excellent care above and beyond what was required of them. There are not enough words to express our gratitude to them and the supurb care Jack received.
During the course of his treatment, Jack received many infusions at the blood infusion clinic, O’Donaghue Bldg. at OU. Our upmost graititude is extended to the nurses in the clinic for their personable, dedicated and compassionate care over the years.
To the Oklahoma Blood Institute and their many generous blood donors who provided a plethora of blood products for Jack over the course of his struggle with leukimia, we are so thankful for each and every unnamed person who donated the products he received. Without the infuesd blood products he would not have been able to fight for so long. The family requests in lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor and remember Jack, should donate to the following medical services he used. Designated donation to: Bone Marrow Transplant through OU Health – https://giving.ouhealth.com/give/333866/#!/donation/checkout or Designated Donation to: Research through Stevenson Cancer Center – https://giving.oufoundation.org/onlinegivingweb/giving/onlinegiving/cancerinst

Jean Clinkenbeard - August 02, 1928 - April 04, 2022

Departed: 04/04/2022 (Tecumseh)
Obituary Preview: Glenda Jean Clinkenbeard entered the healing and comforting presence of the Lord on Monday evening April, 4, 2022 at 8:30 pm with her daughter at her bedside. As family and friends remember Jean for her faithful love and devotion to Jesus Christ and her family, we honor Jean’s reliable desire to capture her life and events through her own writings. This is what she wrote: “Glenda Jean (Jeanie) Clinkenbeard was born August 2, 1928 to Oliver Mitchell and Myrtle Mae (Oliver) Bonner at Byars, Okla. and lived there until 1942 where she finished the 8th grade. She finished her Junior Year at Stratford, Okla. where they moved to in 1942. Dad was a Pentecostal Holiness minister and was sent to Stratford to pastor there. He was sent to Davis, Okla. to pastor the church there on Aug. 9, 1945. Jean had met a young man there at Stratford, named David Wayne Clinkenbeard and they married on Aug. 13, 1945 in Gainesville, TX and moved to Oklahoma City where he was working at General Mills. He was drafted to the army in 1946 and sent to the Philippines as an MP. Jean lived with her parents at Davis during that time and worked at Palace Drug Store. Wayne was discharged in Sept. 1947 and returned to General Mills to work until the mill closed in 1952. He then worked for his brother painting houses. In 1949 they bought a small acreage at the north edge of Moore, Okla. and their 3 children, Marilyn Kay, Terry Dwayne and Mitchell Ray. They were born while they lived there. They had a large garden each year and put out an orchard so Jean could can her bountiful vegetables and fruit and had plenty extra to share with family, friends, and neighbors. Wayne started to work at Tinker Field and took his schooling as an aircraft electrician. He made a skilled journeyman in 1960. Jean and Wayne were both raised on farms and they began to look for a farm to buy and in 1962 they bought 120 acres in Wanette, Okla. with no house. They began building their home in 1963 with Wayne, Jean and the boys doing almost all of the work. Marilyn was cook and housekeeper. Time passed and all 3 of the children moved. With Jean’s canning, carpenter work and all of the domestic chores, she made her clothes, the 3 children’s, a lot of Marilyn’s- even after she married, and a new little girl came to the family and I sewed for her and also my mother. I even made the boys’ shirts until they were up in years. We had chickens, cows and pigs to care for because Wayne was still working at Tinker. Our health began to fail and we knew we needed closer to the children, doctors and stores. We bought an acreage at Shawnee- Bethel Acres area – and started building again. Started out with a large double garage and workshop, then the house where Wayne, the boys, Wayne’s brother-in-law and Jean did most of the work. We lived there at Wanette for 25 years – Wayne retired in 1983 and we lived at Shawnee for 26 years. Our health continued to fail and in 2012 Wayne was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. In Dec. 2014 the children moved us close to Marilyn. We lived long enough to celebrate our 70th anniversary on August 15, 2015. They gave us a wonderful celebration with lots of family and friends there. With our health still failing they moved us to Rivermont Independent Living at Norman, Okla. on Aug. 29, 2015. Wayne went home to be with the Lord on Sept 27, 2015. Jean was also preceded in death by her 2 brothers and their wives; her sister and husband; her son, Terry, in 1996; mother on March 8, 1983 at 6:30 AM and dad on March 9, 1983 at 10:40 PM and we had a double funeral. She is also preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Janet Clinkenbeard. My advice to one and all is…”serve the Lord and be ready to meet all of us in Heaven.”   Jean is survived in death by her daughter, Marilyn and husband Steve Hurt of Wayne, OK; her son, Mitch and wife Janet (deceased) Clinkenbeard of Newalla, OK; 6 grandchildren – Bronda and husband Bobby (deceased) Wilkerson of Oklahoma City, OK; Toby and wife  Cindy Clinkenbeard of Norman, OK, Tammy and husband Brian Carney of Rowlet, TX; Lori Duggan of Shawnee, OK; Belinda and husband Daniel Wiley of Mustang, OK and Erik and wife Erica Clinkenbeard of Oklahoma City, OK; 15 grandchildren- Veronica, Vincent, Felicia, Tayler, Terry Wayne, William, John, Lisa, Abby, John Avery, Issac, Luke, and Roman  and 3 great-great grandchildren- Michael, Gabriel, and Finley. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, April 7, 2022 and continue through service time.  Service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 8, 2022 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mark Guinn, Living Love Christian Center, Shawnee, OK and Reverend Toby Clinkenbeard officiating. Horace Ray Bates - June 08, 1956 - April 01, 2022

Departed: 04/01/2022 (Tecumseh)
Obituary Preview: Our Dad, Horace Ray Bates was born June 8, 1956 and passed away with loving family by his bedside on April 1, 2022.
One of his granddaughters said that he was playing an April Fool’s joke and all of us half expected him to start laughing, pull all the wires and tubes out of him, get out of bed, grab a cigarette and laugh his butt off at us….but he didn’t. Not this time. What he did do was leave a great amount of memories with us. Each of us had our own special moments with him and we will treasure those forever. He was a fairly private man and only a handful of people really knew him. Throughout my life I watched him fill a lot of different roles for me, friends, family, neighbors, co-workers and everyone else he met – Husband, father, son, grandpa, brother, uncle, friend, mentor, role-model, general Mr. Fix-It, etc…but one thing that was constant was that, what little he said, was always the truth. His actions spoke more than he could ever say and he rarely sat still and was always busy doing something, so in that way he was quite loud. So if you met, grew up, worked with, went to school with, partied with or whatever else with him then you have your own memories with him. Take a moment and say something out loud to him. Just like when he was here, he probably won’t say much or anything back, but he will be listening.
Memorial Service will be 3:00 p.m., Friday, April 15, 2022 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ken Kerbo, C3 Cross Connection Church, Shawnee, OK officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

Kim Brown was a loving mother and grandmother (Mimi).  Her two grandchildren were the light of her life.  She loved to attend her granddaughter’s softball games and watch her two-year-old  grandson play imaginary baseball in the living room, complete with running bases and sliding.
She showed her love to all her family members by remembering their birthdays and making sure they received at least a text.  She never forgot details, and her amazing memory never failed to astonish her family.

Although she was deaf, she would freely communicate with those who were hearing.  She did a remarkable job in getting along in basically a hearing world.  She enjoyed her church family at Blackburn Chapel, but struggled to attend in the past year.  Kim appreciated the many cards, flowers, and food that were sent by church members.
