Mecca Kasim Almeen Nevels - April 27, 1999 - May 03, 2021

Departed: 05/03/2021 (Clifton)
Obituary Preview: The Life and Existence of Mecca April 27, 1999 - May 3, 2021
On April 27, 1999, Mecca Kasim Almeen Nevels, became the firstborn son of Brandi Corrinah Jordan and Keith Hall. He was born and raised in Newark, NJ, and attended Camden Elementary and Camden Middle Schools. Self-admittedly, he was a bit diverse and introverted as a child until middle school where he found his place with a like-minded group of teens. While attending Central High School and a vocational rehabilitation program at Beth Israel Hospital, where he also worked as a floater. He also co-founded an Anime Club, which focused on promoting the Japanese culture of art and animation, with his best friend Mikey. This inspired them to create surreptitious handshakes that only his closest friends were privileged to know.
Mecca was the oldest of five brothers and loved to tickle his brothers, often spent summers and holidays in Phillipsburg and Pennsylvania with his grandparents, Willie and Pam Nevels. He loved to eat velveeta shells and cheese and all kinds of pasta. Just a couple of days before his untimely passing, he almost demolished an entire pan of ziti to himself.
He was born with Asperger’s Syndrome but never let that impose on his dreams, and it actually made him more unique and distinguished. Mecca, also known as LEVEL$ in his music, was a highly creative and multifaceted soul. Listening to his music you could absolutely tell that Pokémon and Yugioh inspired the lyrical content and songs he created.
He is survived by loving family, a host of friends and fans of his music, as far away as Japan. We all pray that Mecca’s final journey was met at a loving destination greeted by his great grandmother Ruby Draper, predeceased brother Malcolm, who also made his journey on May 3, of 2016, uncle and great-uncles, Markese, Sonny, Blondie and Mike, and his many other ancestors. His friends, Mikey, Deondre, Chazz, and Kaaji.
We love Mecca, but God loves him best, and we’re thankful that He allowed him to bless his mother and brothers with an unconditional love that will never be forgotten, leaving his grandparents and extend family with the memories that shall always be cherished. In twenty two years, he experienced all that God had destined for him and on May 3, 2021, it was his time to move onward to travel the path for whence we all must return. He is survived by his loving parents, Brandi and Antuan Jordan, his brothers, Malik, Malachi, Micah and Mason, grandparents Willie and Pamela Nevels, Aunt, Ebony Evelyn Nevels, and a myriad of cousins, great aunts and uncles.
Although he’s gone in the flesh, he left us with many memories of his frequency, so please feel free to read and listen to treasures he granted us from his heart and soul as part of his legacy.
Funeral arrangements were private under the direction of Compassionate Cremation Services, 639 Van Houten Ave., Clifton.

His loving, close knit family, all located in New Jersey, eldest brother Joseph C. Marotta and wife Lillian, Brian Marotta and wife Gracie, Anthony Marotta and wife Kim, Pete Marotta, and his favorite and only sister Kim and brother-in-law Anthony Van Herk Sr. will miss him dearly.

Craig had many friends as he was one of a kind in many ways. He was passionate in life and enjoyed the outdoors, especially the beach. He was an avid, life long Giants football fan and loved the game of baseball as well, always rooting for the Yankees.
Craig attended Rutherford High School and was most recently employed with Cleanscape Construction, Montvale. He had been a carpenter in the construction field throughout his professional career. He was an extremely hard worker, as he lived just as hard as he worked. Craig was a man with an incredible heart and would be there in a flash if you needed him.
Unfortunately, he was recently diagnosed with cancer and had a long challenging road ahead of him. Gratefully he passed peacefully in his sleep.
His family finds comfort as we know he is at peace and finally has his mom all to himself up there. As a cousin described, he is now our angel with strength, as we all know what a strong man he was here on earth and had the determination to fight his way through any battle.

Marye was predeceased by her parents, George H. Trinkle Jr. (2004) and Florence Kamphausen Trinkle (2007), her brother George H. Trinkle III (2000), and her sisters-in-law Patricia Trinkle (2020), and Dorothy M. La Bue (2005).

Marye and her brother George were raised in the area and both settled in Clifton one house away from each other. Marye was so very proud of her family’s long history in Clifton and made sure that that her family’s legacy lived on with the stories she told her nieces.
Marye graduated from Clifton High School and was introduced to a college boy from Fairleigh Dickinson University, Rutherford and that college boy turned out to be the “the most fabulous husband” John R. Ruzila (m 1959). Marye chose to go to FDU where John and her brother George were also studying.

After her husband’s death Marye was treated to many SIC driving adventures by her niece Rosemary.
Marye worked for many years as a substitute teacher but her greatest joy was being by her husband John’s side for their many adventures and travels. Marye was very proud to have been raised by a mother with a college education who also worked outside of the home. She believed in education and equal rights for women in the workforce and supported many young women in her life. Marye was honored for Women’s Day by Mayor James Anzaldi for her contributions to the City (2018).
Marye believed in giving back for the many blessings that she felt had been bestowed upon her and in doing so she has left her own legacy.

Departed: 01/17/2021 (Clifton)
Obituary Preview: Judith L. Mulvey, 78, of Somerset, NJ passed away peacefully on January 17, 2021.
Born and raised in Irvington, New Jersey, “Judy” resided in Middlesex, NJ for over 40 years. She relocated to Somerset, NJ where she spent the last seven years of her life with her husband, Raymond L. Mulvey, her high school sweetheart. The two met in senior history class and were together nearly every day for the next 58 years. Their six decades together shone most profoundly during her final months as Ray provided round the clock care at home, never leaving her side.
Judy was a devoted mother to her children (Laurie Mulvey and her husband Sam Richards of State College PA, Richard Mulvey and his wife Jeannette Mulvey of Middlesex NJ, Pamela Heinold and husband Harry Heinold of Millstone, NJ and Raymond J. Mulvey and wife Jill Mulvey of Flemington, NJ). They all knew her love and support was available day or night.
Judy was also a loving grandmother to Hannah, Emma and Anthony Heinold, Luke Bottone-Mulvey, Sam and Suzannah Mulvey. They were her joy and she found special talents to cherish in each. She loved when family and friends would enjoy her stories from “Grandma Judy’s Journal,” a series of handwritten accounts and sketches of “the funny and very wise things my grandchildren have said and done" as they were growing up.
Judy was a devoted sister to her big brother, Joseph ‘Jay’ Stypulkowski, and his partner of 35 years Robert Steele. It was a rare holiday they didn’t spend together.
Judy had a gift for turning strangers into friends. Wherever she went, she left a wake of smiles along with new acquaintances. But her oldest friends were her dearest and those who knew her know that her friendships were one of her proudest accomplishments. Some of those friendships lasted for more than seventy years.
Always an advocate for fair play and self-improvement, Judy was known for pushing beyond her own comfort zone. For this, her children dubbed her ‘Phoenix,’ a name that stuck and a name she enjoyed with equal measures of laughter and grace.
Though a self-proclaimed “terrible cook,” Judy’s love of food was notable. Her family remembers her planning lunch while eating her breakfast or crisscrossing the state of New Jersey for an Italian hotdog (Jimmy Buff’s was her favorite).
Judy’s energy, youthfulness and genuine love of people will be missed terribly.
Funeral arrangements were private.

Richard Toglia - Unknown - January 05, 2021

Departed: 01/05/2021 (Clifton)
Obituary Preview: Richard Louis Toglia Artist, Accordionist, Brother, Friend, Husband (October 13, 1943 -- January 5, 2021)
Richard was born to Anthony Toglia and Angelina Miele Toglia in Montclair, NJ and raised in Clifton, NJ, where he did his early schooling. After being graduated from Clifton High, he attended the Newark School of Fine and Industrial Art, followed by a scholarship for a year at Pratt Graphics.
Already a very accomplished illustrator, he had many years of employment. These were all wonderful years for Richard, years when he was able to work by mail while living in Italy. There was Home Furnishings Daily, about 20 years with Colonial Homes magazine, Macy's, Regents Publishing, many magazine illustrations, and at least 20 years with interior designer Elise Kodish of AZA Inc. There were many technical illustrations for the Newark Waterfront Access Study for Edwards & Kelcey. Richard was even the sole facilitator for the Newark Schools Graffiti Project.
As a fine artist, Richard's paintings were shown at galleries in NY and NJ. A member of the Clifton Art League, he had opportunities to show work close to home too. Many paintings can still be seen at saatchiart.com. During this time a love of travel was born, and he and his wife continued to travel as often as possible, mostly in Europe. During the 90's, Richard played accordion with The Humphries, playing gigs all over the city. Two CD's were released. He loved playing for friends too, and he encouraged singing along -- as loud as possible!
What Richard was best at was helping people to see the beauty around them and within them. It was important to him that his friends could be inspired to do their best work. Running an art workshop/open studio at Brookdale Reformed in Bloomfield gave him another chance to do what he had been doing for friends for most of his life. The workshop lasted about 25 years until COVID closed it down. He missed it very much, along with the friends he made there.
Richard leaves behind his wife and life partner, Janet Bjugan; his brother Neal Toglia and wife Joan; nephew Brian Toglia, wife Ebru and two sweet nieces, Michaela and Ayla. He also leaves a dear cousin, Christine Bremseth. He will also be missed by his lifelong dear friend, Carmen Cuccia and his wife, Julie Wigg. We were all lucky to have known and loved him. A memorial celebrating Richard's life will be planned for later in 2021. Please don't send flowers. If you want to honor Richard, consider a donation to your local foodbank. I have come to drag you out of yourself,
and, take you in my heart. I have come to bring out the beauty you never knew you had and lift you like a prayer
