B. Gowans family. She passed away in Lakewood, Colorado on July 8, 2021. She was nicknamed Gogi by her beloved niece Diana when she was a toddler. She was raised in Ft. Collins, Colorado. After graduating from high school she moved to Denver with her twin sister. She retired from the Denver Federal Center.

She was the most fun-loving, adoring, sweet person you would hope to meet, and always with a smile on her face. With such a kind heart, a generous and caring soul, and a friend to all, she was the first to offer help to anyone in need. Always celebrating life, along with athletic abilities, she enjoyed competition water skiing, bowling, motorcycling and tennis.

She won many first place trophies. Known to be a long-time, avid fan of the Denver Broncos and Women’s Tennis. Her last outing was to Black Hawk, CO, July 2020, to play the slots and it was a lucky day. She enjoyed playing poker, around the kitchen table, to laugh and joke.

GOGI will be dearly MISSED. Always LOVED. And will NEVER BE FORGOTTEN by her family members, friends, and physicians.

Martha Reger Hunter - January 23, 1947 - June 06, 2021

Obituary Preview: Martha (Marty) Reger Hunter was born in Delta, Colorado January 23, 1947, and was the youngest of 7 children. She was preceded in death by her parents George and Ellen, two brothers Alvah and Jacob and survived by her brothers George, Paul and Russ and sister Mary. Growing up, her family was active in the Nazarene church. She was an avid student leading to being valedictorian of her Delta High School class of 1965. Martha became Marty when her roommate at the University of Northern Colorado said she did not look like a Martha and started calling her Marty. Marty met Duane on her first day at college and they were married in Delta, Colorado September 11, 1966, and last year they celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary.

Marty graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a teaching degree in Math in 1969. She showed an early interest and ability in computer science, was one of the first computer teachers in Jefferson County and often taught evening classes for other teachers and even the superintendent. She taught computers and math for many years at McLain Community High School before retiring in 2004. Her former colleagues from McLain have remained lifelong friends.

Even though she was retired from the teaching profession, Marty remained both a lifelong student and teacher. From 2001 and through retirement, Marty and Duane enjoyed traveling the world together from Machu Pichu to the Matterhorn. Marty would extensively study every country before their trips and would often be more knowledgeable about the history of a region and sites than the tour guides. She also became quite the photographer and would document each trip with beautiful photobooks that she would share with her traveling companions.

Marty was always extremely organized, a skill that was put to good use during a quest to be designated with Colorado pioneer status. This pursuit led to her spending countless hours researching and cataloging family history and genealogy, tracing ancestors of the Reger and Hunter clans back to the 1400’s. Along the way, she discovered many interesting facts like how her maternal grandfather, a minister, was a volunteer with the Heifer Project to supply Europe with horses that were lost during World War II. Recently, she began chronicling her childhood memories, including learning to ski at Aspen with the Kennedy’s, gathering dandelion greens for supper, and swimming at the local watering hole.

Throughout her adult life Marty stayed active, despite having bad knees, and loved spending time outdoors – hiking, searching for wildlife, biking, and skiing. She developed and maintained close friendships through multiple associations including the Arvada Newcomers bridge group, her children’s swimming and soccer teams, and Focus travel group.

Marty’s family was always her most prized possession. Marty and Duane are very proud parents of three sons (Kevin, David and Brian) and are grateful for their daughters-in-law (Lisa, Alicia, and Tina). She was an exceptional mom to her sons and had a special relationship with each of her seven grandchildren (Evan-32, Shea-22, Nicholas-18 Josh-16, Luke-13, Adam-10, and Quinn-6). There was nothing she wanted to do more than spend time with family, especially the grandkids. She loved attending their soccer games, dance recitals, school functions, and sharing her passion for learning by introducing creative writing, arts and crafts, science experiments, and other special experiences with each visit.

She is survived by her children Teresa Ann Larkin (Jack), Randy Robb, and Rodney Robb; grandchildren Echo Larkin, Tyrel Larkin; great-grandchildren Jack (MJ) Larkin and Sway Larkin; brothers Marion (Marlene) Richter, Jack (Olive) Richter and sister Renee Richter. Kay was preceded in death by her parents and brother Gary Richter.

Rebecca was born November 28, 1962 in Lubbock, Texas. She moved to Colorado with her mother in 1964. Rebecca became a woodworker and was a hard working woman for most of her life. She loved her job and would often tell her family stories of her working days.

In 1981 Rebecca had her only child, her son Jason who she adored and loved more than life itself. Rebecca will be remembered as a generous woman. One who was stubborn and funny, warm, loving, strong, and smart. Family was important to her and she was always offering comfort, and kindness to anyone who needed a little love and sunshine.

In 1991, Gary married the love of his life, Becky Woodford and they were overjoyed to add Lindsey Nicole and Bryan David to their family. They had 18 happy years of marriage before Becky passed away in 2009. Gary's focus was always on family and became even more so after Becky's tragic death. He was so proud to be Lindsey and Bryan's dad and took every opportunity to have extraordinary experiences with them. They had memorable trips to Cabo, many excursions to the mountains of Colorado as well as Rehoboth Beach every June. Gary lived for his children and became the most important influence in their lives.

Gary's life was filled with golf, skiing, bike riding, hiking and basically anything that could be done outdoors. We are all devastated at his sudden passing and want to celebrate his life and legacy. Left to remember Gary are his children, sister Paula Vogelsberg, brother Greg, uncle Derwood Coalson, nephew Nick Vogelsberg, niece Madi Rogers, best friend Mark Moore and ALL the Woodfords who he loved beyond measure.

He will be greatly missed by family and friends, who enjoyed his humor, smiles, and love of life.

He retired in 2007 and relocated to Colorado. There he was still able to follow his beloved 49’ers, Warriors and Giants. He spent his final years fishing, travelling, playing golf and enjoying his family.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Maria, his children Denyce Nazzisi, Andrew Masur, Kristen Barden and Ann Grover. He leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Sebastian and Teagan Nazzisi, MacKenzie, Clayton and Cooper Barden. He is also survived by his siblings, Gert Graham, Laurence Lau, Virginia Martin, Millie Aslett, Joan Martin and Pam Martin.
