Marjorie Lazzara - October 20, 1935 - June 09, 2023

Departed: 06/09/2023 (Liberty)
Obituary Preview: It's with a sad heart that I announce the passing of my Mother Marge. Mom passed away on June 9, 2023 at 11:48 pm. Since September of 2023, Mom was subject to having three strokes, the latest was in the month May 2023.
As of today, June 14, 2023, I sit here writing Mom’s memorial with a glad heart knowing she is in Heaven with my Father, Peter J. (Sonny) Lazzara Sr, their first-born son Joseph, all of her brothers and sisters, nephews and nieces, cousins and friends.
Margie played a lot of different rolls in all her Blessed years. She was a wife, a mother, worker, homemaker, babysitter, caretaker, a Sunday school teacher, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend to many...
But, most importantly, was the love and knowledge she had when it came to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Aways sharing with me God's love, mercy, and grace. The sacrifice of the Lord Jesus He made for all mankind. And the gift of eternal life. I can say today with confidence that on June 9th I was Blessed to sit with Mom after her passing, filled with the Spirit, sharing scripture with Prayer, knowing at that moment her struggle here was over and she was already in presence of God. Thanking her for all she had done and taught me.
There is no greater gift than having complete trust and faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who brings peace to the broken hearted.
Psalms 73:26 - My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
Ephesians 1 3-5 - Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will. Shirley enjoyed any time she could get seeing or talking to her grandchildren. Her love for Elvis songs was well known. She took great joy in going to yard sales and doing small arts and crafts. Shirley would joke about being part gypsy because of her urge to pack up and go. Her heart always brought her back to Sullivan County. Shirley loved to sit and play dominoes with whoever was willing to play. She would play a variety of card games and just enjoyed having company. However, she also liked her alone time. Shirley lived her life on her terms and those who knew her well knew she had her own way of doing things. There is a special thank you to Robin Villafane for all the help and support you so willingly gave to Shirley without question.
You will be greatly missed, and our hearts are heavy with sadness. Your passing was graceful and you’re no longer in any pain. Rest in peace Mom, Nana, Shirley, we love you.

Although born in Puerto Rico she made her way to New York City where she spent her years in Brooklyn then Queens with her husband Carlos. Her last years were spent in Liberty, NY. Enjoying the country life with her cat, Ginger.
She will be profoundly missed by all who knew her.
A Memorial Mass will be on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at St. Peters Catholic Church of Monticello, 10 Liberty Street, Monticello, NY 12701 at 10:00am.
VIEW SERVICE
