Teddy was born on April 22, 1968 to Teddy Patterson and Bonnie (Hopton) Carter in Portland, Oregon. Mr. Patterson served in the United States Navy and worked as a salesman at Gills auto sales. Mr. Patterson was an avid Auburn fan. He enjoyed attending his daughter’s activities and spending time with her along with playing golf and softball.
Mr. Patterson is survived by his mother, Bonnie (Hopton) Carter, daughter, Gracy Patterson, son, Pohailani Patterson, stepson, Caleb Walker, sisters; Dawn Crouse, Jessica O’Malley, Autumn Utter, Robin Bonnell, and Kasey Smith, grandchildren; Kiara ,Kian, and baby Kalei.
He is preceded in death by his father, Teddy Patterson and son, Chance “Kalei” Patterson.

Scott was born January 14, 1959 to Catherine Pitts Milligan and Melrose Wayne King and lived in Phenix City his whole life. He had a big heart for his family and friends and loved helping others. He enjoyed going to gun shows, riding motorcycles and working on cars, especially Corvettes, of which he owned several through the years. He was an expert tile setter and for many years owned his own business, King Tile Co.
Scott was preceded in death by his father, his maternal grandparents Mary Louise Pitts Duncan and Richard Louis Pitts, his paternal grandparents Mary Delores and Melrose Wilford King, uncle Richard Louis Pitts, Jr. and nephew Christopher Harrelson. He is survived by his mother and father Lee Milligan, sisters Kim King Harrelson and husband Andy, Stacie Reddish and husband Richard, Melinda Day and Lisa Faircloth, daughters Tiffany Alisa King and Tina King Ridge, granddaughters Jadah Gilbert and Elizabeth Ridge, aunts Elizabeth Pitts Owens and Virginia Pitts Pope, nephews Clifford Harrelson, Ryan and Reid Reddish, nieces Brittany Day Cofield and Becka Day and a special cousin Donnie Pitts.

Stacey loved her babies. Her hobbies was riding on dirt roads, sitting around firepits and going to the beach with family and friends, this is when she was her happiest. She had a big heart along with a great smile and everyone that knew her fell in love with her. She was employed at Home Depot.

Obituary Preview: Robert Brett “Butch” Nisson, Jr. passed away on March 22, 2022 at the age of 74 after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his loved ones who will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest.
Robert was born in Columbus, GA on October 22, 1947 to  Robert Brett Nisson, Sr. and Kathrine S. Nisson. He graduated from Jordan Vocational High School in 1966 and attended Columbus College after his service in Vietnam. Robert volunteered for the US Army in 1969 and was quickly recognized as an ideal candidate for the Special Forces Green Berets.  After months of specialized training, Robert  was assigned to military assistance command, Vietnam - Studies and Observation Group (MACV-SOG). After spending 12 months in Vietnam and earning the bronze star, Robert returned home and attended Columbus College. He soon met Anita, the love of his life, and they began their life together for the next 47 years.  Robert passionately loved his family and country. He retired from the United States Postal Service in 2009 and spent his retired years enjoying his many cars and making sure those dang mimosa trees didn’t take over the yard. “The simple pleasures in life brought great joy to Robert. He loved honoring his country, working on his cars, eating at the local Waffle House and Country’s BBQ, but mostly spending time with his family and favorite Granddaughter. He was beyond proud of his children and grandchildren and always made sure they were taken care of. Robert had an uncanny ability to make all those around laugh with him. Cracking inappropriate jokes with his friends and drinking a cold PBR, you would catch a glimpse of his wholesome smile ”
Robert is survived by his wife of 47 years Anita Moore Nisson, 2 daughters, Lauren Nisson Ellerbee and Melissa Nisson Gregory, his only son Robert Brett Nisson III, as well as 3 grandchildren Landyn Nisson(11), Christopher Ellerbee(8) and Jaxson Gregory(3).

Mrs. Amerson and her husband owned and operated Amerson Auto Parts and Amerson Fireworks. She was a longtime member of Philadelphia Baptist Church, Mrs. Amerson always put God and her Church first. She kept up with everyone and was known for calling and checking on Church members often. She participated in Meals on Wheels, enjoyed visiting Nursing Homes and helping with recreation activities for residents. Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Julius Amerson; son, Donald Julius Amerson; brother, William Herbert Bush, Jr.; sister, Ethel Kathleen Askew.
Surviving are her two sisters, Alice Sports Butler and Katie Bush Minor; numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.

Funeral services will be Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Colonial Funeral Home at 4:00 pm ET with Rev. Scott Rhodes officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 2-4 pm ET at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Hyram Cemetery.
Mrs. Mims was born in Russell county, Alabama to the late Byron and Marjorie Euna McKenzie Rhodes. She worked as a successful hairdresser for 35 years, then became a project manager at Pratt Whitney until retirement. Among many of her interests, she most enjoyed horses especially Tennessee Walkers, being an award winning horseman she received numerous awards.  In the 1970's she was "Mrs. Hospitality" while working for Shoney's as night manager. She was a longtime member of Edgewood Baptist Church and Ladonia Baptist Church. Most impotantly Mrs. Mims loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Mims, Sr.
Surviving are her daughters, Julie Elver and Gina (David) Uren; 7 grandchildren, Zachary Elver, Will Elver, Jonathan Austin, McKenzie Killebrew, Calen Austin, Amber Adams and Brent Parsons; 11 great grandchildren.

She had worked at the Columbus Housing Authority as a property manager.
She is survived by her husband Milton Allison Franklin, a daughter Danielle Franklin, siblings Darlene Harden (Joe), Gary Swindall (Debra), Larry Swindall (Dawn), Lorraine McKinnon (Richard); nieces and nephews, Melissa Wessell, Joey Harden, Ashley McKinnon, Macey McKinnon, Hillary Swindall, James Swindall , Wayne Swindall and Josh Swindall; a great niece Maesyn Swindall, her fur grandbabies, Ashley, Red and Blue; and many other friends and relatives.

Alfred Leonard Washington - August 25, 1961 - March 06, 2022

Obituary Preview: Alfred “Al” Leonard Washington was born August 25, 1961 in New Orleans, LA to the union of the late Dr. Leonard S. Washington and Earlena J. Washington. Al was preceded in death by his sister Valeria O. Washington. Al was a graduate of Marion Abrasom High School, Class of 1979. Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 19, 2022 beginning at 1:00 PM ET at Broad Street Church of Christ in Phenix City, Alabama. A second memorial service will held Saturday, March 26, 2022 beginning at 1:00 PM at 7114 Haynes Boulevard, New Orleans, Louisiana 70126.
He attended Southern University and Dillard University in New Orleans, Louisiana and the University of Louisiana in Lafayette, LA. In December of 1987, Al enlisted into the United States Navy and served as an Inventory Specialist assigned to the USS Missouri serving during Operation Desert Storm. Being in the Navy allowed Alfred to travel the world and at this time he took up the hobby of photography. He photographed and displayed his beautiful pictures at various ports of call such as San Francisco, Australia and New Zealand. Upon ending his tour of duty with the Navy, Al moved back to New Orleans and began to pursue his favorite past time of taking pictures at social events and family gatherings.
He began a career employment as a surgical medical technician for the Veterans Administration Hospital in New Orleans.
When Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans in 2005, he evacuated to Alexandria, Louisiana with his mother and extended family. He continued his employment with the Veterans Administration Hospital in Pineville, LA. Shortly thereafter, he accepted a transfer to the Veterans Administration Hospital in Dallas, Texas. He returned to New Orleans in 2010 and continued his position at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in New Orleans until he retired in January 2021.
Shortly after retiring, Al moved to Columbus, GA to be nearer to his brother, Alvin. Upon his arrival in Columbus, Al became a member of Broad Street Church of Phenix City, Alabama. Al was a former member of Crescent City Church Of Christ In New Orleans, Louisiana.
Al loved to listen to music, taking pictures, and family gatherings. His other favorite pastime was watching football games and he could recall the stats of players and various football teams. He also loved music and his favorite musical groups were Earth, Wind & Fire and Incognito.
Al is survived by his brother Alvin William Washington (Crystal) niece, Tiffany Dabbs (Charlotte) Munich, Germany nephew Troy Washington, great- nephews, Amir Washington of Columbus, Ga. and Triston Dabbs, of Munich, Germany, aunts, Debra J. Oatis and Cheryl Jones; uncles Julius C., Aubrey L., and Kenneth Jones; cousins Tanyelle, Amelia and Zoe Gaskew, Gabrielle and Denver Moore, Amber, Chanan and Caylin Mitchell of New Orleans, Louisiana. He is preceded in death by his uncles Lonnie “Pop” Oatis, Jr. and Danny H. Rachal of New Orleans, Louisiana.

Mr. Piland was a patriot and supported the military all he could. He was an Alabama fan through and through, was an avid football fan, enjoyed NASCAR, hunting, and fishing. He enjoyed comfort camping, playing drums, watching westerns, and cowboys. Mr. Piland was a collector of all things World War II. He loved riding his motorcycle, working on his truck and cars in general. Mr. Piland is preceded in death by his father, Bobby Shelton Piland, Sr.
Surviving are his loving wife, Melanie Graves Piland; his mother, Linnie M. Arnold Piland; one brother, Eric Piland (Jennifer); one sister, Melinda McManious (Lynn); two sons, Brandon Tanner and Lee Tanner; many loving nieces, nephews, and in-laws, who he loved very much.
