Obituary Preview: Curtis “Lee” Hunter Sr. was born on July 2, 1953 in Tallahassee, Florida. He is the son of the late Elijah & Mary Hunter. Curtis was the first child of seven children born to his parent’s union. Curtis brother Edward, 2 sister Kate and Louise, son Curtis Hunter Jr. preceded him in death. Curtis was educated in Leon County Public Schools and a 1972 graduate of James S. Rickards High School in Tallahassee, Florida. He was a star football payer who was arguably one of best running backs at Rickards and the in the city of Tallahassee. Hunter was a versatile athlete who also played basketball and ran track where he won many local and regional awards. After graduating high school, he went on to become and Fireman with the Tallahassee Fire Department for over 22 years. On Wednesday evening August 17, 2022 God call his beloved child home to rest in Heaven. Cherishing his memories is…. Obituary Preview: Mrs. Emma Crawford Nelson was born on March 28, 1945, to the late Versie Ree Crawford and Johnnie B. Crawford. She was one of ten siblings. Her early education came from Seminole Training School in Donalsonville, Georgia, where she graduated in 1963.
Emma was retired from the State of Florida, working for Landmark Learning Center, after thirty-one years of service. As a dedicated woman of God, she served and worshipped at Faith Annointed Ministries in Miami, Florida, for over thirty years. Her kindness and compassion were unparalleled.Mrs. Nelson was the profound mother of two sons and a daughter.
On Wednesday, August 17, 2022, she earned the reward for which she strived. Emma was relieved of her stewardship on Earth and became a light within those who love and remember her.
She meets her parents and four siblings, sister, Elease Morris, brother, Ronnie Crawford, sister, Daisy King, and sister, Delores Harvey. Her youngest son, Timothy Crawford also preceded her in arrival to a paradise beyond.
Her legacy is carried by: her son and daughter, Larry Crawford and Rita Crawford; her grandsons, Jean Crawford and Rashad Crawford (Shonta); one sister, Verna Jean Bryant (Melvin); four brothers, Danny Battle (Rhonda), Dennis Crawford, Mickey Crawford, and Eudarn Crawford; her four great-grandsons, Aumarii Sylvester, Aurien Crawford, Austin Crawford, Xaiden Hanks and Kendric Henderson; and great-granddaughter, Kiara Richardson, and her loving nieces and nephew. James was born on December 23, 1956 in Bainbridge, Georgia to Daisy Brown (raised by Joseph Ross and Ilene Brown-Ross), who preceded him in death. He preceded in death his grandmother Anna Brown-Johnson. He attended Bainbridge High School and later received his high school diploma from American Preparatory Institute in Killeen Texas, April 2016. James accepted Christ at an early age at the Greater Macedonia Missionary Baptist church, where he was a junior usher and participated in the King Youth Choir. James was married to Deborah Brown for 11 years who preceded him in death, 2016. He was member of First African Missionary Baptist Church. Bainbridge, Georgia, Rev. Henry Flowers III. where he served faithfully as an Usher and anything he was asked to do until he became ill. James attended Emmaus Church Jacksonville, Florida until his health failed. Military Career:
James enlisted in the United States Army from 1976 to 1984, with an honorable discharge. He completed the following training: US Army Quartermaster School, Stock Control and Accounting – 1976, US Army Quarterman School, Fort Lee, Virginia, Material Supply, Administrative Specialist at Fort Benning, Georgia in 1980, United States Army Oil Analysis Monitor, Fort Benning, Georgia, 1981. He received a diploma for successfully completing the DAS-3/Phoenix Supply course in 1982. US Army USAREUR Basketball Coaches and Officials Clinic, 1986. He received commendation for performance as Recreation Assistant in Mannheim Youth Activities, Supply Procurement and administration Specialist, Mannheim, Germany Europe. He coached tennis and golf in Mannheim Germany. He received numerous awards and commendations in the United States Army. His faith in God was consistent and active in his life and no matter what the situation, he knew he was victorious in Jesus Christ. James was smart, funny, witty, and loved Jesus.
He was the jokester in the family and always had a smile on his face. She worked at the chicken plant for over 10 years before her health no longer allowed her to work. She was preceded in death by both of her parents, her brother Eddie Green, her sister Elnoria Quick, two Great Grandchildren Micheal McCray and Kayden Evans. She was educated by the Decatur County School System and was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Jesse Miller. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters & brothers. A TIME FOR WORSHIP: Our Mother was a faithful woman of God that seeked to know him through reading, studying, singing & worship. She accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age and joined Saint Paul P. B. Church & First Community P. B. Church for many years; later she joined Union Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend David Johnson and remained an active member on the Mother Board until her departure from earth. A TIME TO LIVE: Aside from serving the Lord, Mother Miller loved spending time with her family and friends, she enjoyed singing, fishing, gardening, traveling, shopping, cooking delicious food from scratch, baking 7 layered cakes & baking her signature jelly cakes. Mother Miller showed love, compassion & offered words of encouragement to every person she met. (Hazel) Hayes of Hahira, GA, and Toney P. Thomas of Bainbridge; seven sisters, Melinda J. Henderson, Rosemary B. (David) Jackson, Jewell L. Thomas Parrish, Arlicia S. Thomas Kirkland, Angelia S. Thomas, all of Bainbridge, and Geraldine Gordon and Joyce Holcombe, both of Mobile, AL, and a host of loving cousins, nieces, nephews, godchildren, family and friends. Her grandparents Sheddrick (Annie) Thomas and Robert (Beatrice) Brown preceded her in death. Katrinia attended Bainbridge High School and was a faithful member of Greater Mt. Calvary First Born Church. Anyone who knew Katrinia immediately witnessed her love and dedication for the Lord. In her free time, she found peace in making jewelry and all things arts & crafts. She was not a stranger to a homemade recipe because she got down in the kitchen. She loved music, painting, singing, teaching and giving God praise, and most importantly, she loved her two young men, and everyone knew it. She would give her last to anyone and would say a prayer for everyone. One of her favorite sayings, “You have not because you ask not” will be something we can all remember her by. Even in times like these, we must ask for comfort, peace and understanding, and if we know like Katrinia knows, God will give us just that. We must keep her memory alive because she would not have it any other way.

Obituary Preview: Jerome Ford was born in Rochester, New York, November 8, 1958, by the Beloved Eula Mae Ford Hill (Brown) and John Henry Ford Sr.  They passed away before him.   He was also raised by his stepfather, Alfonso Hill, later on in life. Who preceded him in death also. His loving Grandmother (Queen Bouie) raised him from birth, she also preceded him in passing.    Jerome accepted Christ at an early age.  He lived most of his life in Bainbridge GA, where he attended school and played tuba for 4 years, until he graduated in 1976.  He attended FAMU after he graduated in 1976.  He later on in life met and married his loving wife, Betty Ford on October 5, 1990.  Jerome fell ill and Betty stayed by her husband’s side until his passing.  Jerome was musically inclined.  He was very well known, he learned how to play guitar early in life by his older brother Jimmy.  They recorded together, played together and played with many groups and bands and his brothers Michael, John, and Ronnie.  He played with Karen Washington's gospel group. He played for St. Luke for many years.  He played for his loving Pastor, Pastor Jacquelyn Porter along with Jerome son Andrew and Nephew Quinton for many, many years.   His niece Tasha, remembers him by his saying “Tell Romie” every time she called Uncle Jerome.
He leaves to cherish his memories with his beloved wife, Betty Ford and his loving kids, Alfonso Jerome Ford, Kimberly Ford. Nigel Ford, Andrew (Katina) Ward, and Ellery Ward. Two bonus sons and a daughter that’s his nephews and niece Stella Williams, Jubel Davis and Travis Henry.  He also leaves 8 grandchildren. Sister and Brothers - Deloris (Ricky) Marshall, Michael (Shana)Thompson, Jimmy Ford and John (Dorothy) Ford and two that preceded him in passing Ronald (Jeanie) Ford and Christine (Eddie) Washington. Jerome’s close nieces and nephews Latasha (Gregory) Lewis, Shaneeka (Gabe) Ford, John (Aqueelah) Faison. Rondell (Jacquelyn-Tutu) Faison.  He had many nieces and nephews – Shaquira (Wisguere) Dormevil and Quinton (Sha) Ford. In-laws Jeanie Davis Ford, Margaret (Tommy) Williams Brother-in-law Edward (Carla) Daniels.  James Daniels was a close friend and bro-in-law who preceded him in death.  He also has a cousin (Freddie Brown) that was like a brother.  He Had a host of Aunts, Uncles, Nieces and Nephews, Cousins and Friends that he left to share his memories.

Born in decatur county on March, 29, 1950 to the late Mrs. Willie B. Shephard(Rev. James) and Rufus Screen along with a bonus father, James Bolden, Sr. she lived a fulfilling life and was married to the late Robert James Sheffield, Sr.
At an early age “Sister” confessed to Christ and attended Campbell Street Church of God. Throughout her years “Sister” was a cook at Bainbridge Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center and spent her time aiding and assisting whenever necessary. Almost naturally harboring a heart of gold and serve at lender loving and care. “Sister” was loved by many before her time of demise.
She was preceded in death by her late brothers, Mr. Johnny L. Green and Reginald Screen, Sr.
She leaves four caring children: Shandora Screen, Robert James Sheffield, Jr.(Melissa), Kelvin Sheffield, and Tara Screen Watts(Robert). Loving brothers: Mr. Leo Green(Emma), Rodney Green, David Green, of Savannah, GA, and Tommy Green(Jackie), two loving Sisters: Carrie Bryd Hundley and Dorothy Kinder all of Bainbridge, Georgia. A special devoted cousin, Ms. Jacquelin Robinson, along with 18 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
