Obituary Preview: Lawrence "Larry" West passed away May 23rd, 2023, he was born in Wakefield, RI to Louis and Shirley West on December 12, 1946. He moved to Arizona over 40 years ago, 20 years was spent in Casa Grande where he passed in his home surrounded by his wife, 3 of his daughters, and one of his grandsons. Larry was a loving husband, father, and grandfather he is survived by his wife Cherie West whom he would have celebrated his 40th wedding anniversary with on June 18th, his children Ron, Jim, Tom, Sherri, Nichole, Michelle, Sara, his son in law Steven, 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and his sister Nancy. He is preceded in death by his parents Louis and Shirley and brothers Louis Jr and Ronny West. Larry loved camping and traveling with his family, wood working in his garage and passing on his knowledge to his children and grandchildren. He was someone that everyone wanted to be around and will be greatly missed by his friends and family. A celebration of his life will be held at his home in Casa Grande from 2-6PM on June 3, 2023.

Obituary Preview: Hal J Lawson, 66, passed away May 16, 2023 in Gilbert, Arizona. He was born August 5, 1956 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Jimmy and Betty Lawson. He attended school in Great Bend, Kansas and graduated in 1974. After high school, he worked with his father in the oil field. In 1986, he was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. He then changed careers and became a stockbroker; then moved with
his family to Casa Grande, AZ in 1989. He was very involved with First Presbyterian Church in Casa Grande, including the Sunday school, men’s groups and prison fellowship programs. He loved and played all sports. When he could no longer play, he coached his daughters for as long as he could. He liked to talk with people and ask them a lot of questions to get to know them. His computer enabled him to stay connected and enjoy the things that made him happy. Hal enjoyed fantasy sports, the stock market and making videos. You could always win him over with ice cream or a Blizzard. He loved to joke with everyone and looked at life with lots of humor. Hal always said he received so many blessings from having MS. He never gave up.
He is preceded in death by his parents. Hal is survived by his children, Nikki Lawson of Cave Creek, AZ, Caley Lawson-Rinker of Boise, Idaho, Jaci Lawson of Scottsdale, AZ; son-in-law, Alex Rinker of Boise, Idaho; ex-wife, Cheryl Lawson of Casa Grande, AZ; siblings, Bud Lawson and Janet Kuhn; and was Papa to grandchildren, Weston and Evi Rinker. Services will be held Monday, May 29 at 10:30 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Casa Grande with Celebration of Life to follow. From a small Delta town in Leland, Mississippi, to the bustling streets of Chicago, Illinois, Ethel embraced life with a passion and zest that was truly
contagious. At the tender age of 18, Ethel embarked on a new adventure, making her way to the vibrant city of Chicago. There, she pursued her passion as a Professional Seamstress, showcasing her remarkable talent and skill. Her annual fashion shows were the talk of the town, with tickets selling out in a heartbeat. Ethel's creative flair and dedication to her craft earned her admiration from all who witnessed her creations. She also served as a compassionate Personal Care
Provider, nurturing, and caring for those in need. Ethel's unwavering faith in the Lord blossomed at a young age when she found solace and guidance at the Old Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Leland, Mississippi. Upon
moving to Chicago, she found a spiritual home at the Congregational Church of Park-Manor. Though her health may have wavered in later years, her faith remained steadfast, a testament
to her unwavering spirit.
A force of nature, Ethel had an incredible ability to connect with people from all walks of life.
Her infectious charm and magnetic personality won over hearts and forged lasting friendships. As a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Ethel touched countless lives with her love, compassion, and genuine care. She lived a life that overflowed with meaning and purpose, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished by all
who were fortunate enough to know her. On May 16, 2023, Ethel Marie Cannon, Harper, Reed answered the heavenly call, as she was welcomed into the embrace of eternity. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Mr. Delmer Reed Sr., with whom she shared more than 13 precious years. Obituary Preview: Bernardo C. Teran of Maricopa, AZ, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2023, at the age of 80. He was born on February 13, 1943 in Esqueda, Sonora, Mexico.
Bernardo is survived by his wife, Maria A. Teran of 53 years; five children, Bernardo, Ana (Julio), Reyes, Sonia and Sandra (Jesus). Bernardo had five grandchildren, Lorenzo, Emiliano, Diego, Lilian and Thomas.
Bernardo enjoyed trips to the casinos, braiding western nylon ropes, reading the newspaper and going to the livestock auction. He enjoyed making friends everywhere he went and eagerly waved at any vehicle or passerby when driving down roads.
Bernardo was known to be creative and comedic and awarded many endearing nicknames for his family and friends. Bernardo enjoyed raising cattle and doctoring them back to health. He worked at various feedlots in Arizona for most of his adult life including Arlington Cattle Co, Red River Feedlot and Maricopa Feedyards as a feedlot cowboy.
Spending time with family and friends was a great joy for him. We will treasure the memories and miss him deeply. Visitation will be held at The Gardens Chapel May 24th from 5-7p.m. Service at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church May 25th starting
at 10 a.m.

Montie is survived by his son Brian Koehn daughter in law Kari Koehn, Daughter Sharelle Dentremont (Koehn) and son in law Marcel Dentremont his grand children Kara Koehn, Breanna Koehn, David Dentremont, and Daniel Dentremont. He is also survived by his mom Susan Koehn, his siblings Cathy Koehn, Christine Unruh, Steve Koehn sister in law Twila , and Becky Friesen and brother on law Rusty and several neices and nephews and cousins.
He was preceaded in death by his dad Gene Koehn and his brother Donald Lee Koehn, and his brother in law Winston Unruh.

Bustos of Glendale, Debbie Brown of Eloy, Patricia Bustos of Salinas, California, Rachel Ortiz of Azle, Texas, and Virgie Leija of Casa Grande; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Candelaria and Manuel Bustos.
Rosary recited at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, May 19, at S. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Funeral Mass celebrated at 10. Burial in Eloy Memorial Park.

She was born in Holtville, California to Charles and Bertha Layton. She was a very young bride when she married Harold Arp in 1940. A farming opportunity came up and the couple moved their family to Arizona in 1952. Harold often joked Mary never worked a day in her life, but many can remember finding her behind the desk of the headquarters for C & V Growers or in their cotton gin for many years.
Mary had a passion for bowling and sponsored a team for over 20 years. She enjoyed spending many of those years bowling with her daughters. She was also a frequent guest of the casino on bingo nights and held Sunday evening card games with her family. She was a gentle, loving, funny lady and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her daughters Linda Dodge and Judy Fleming of Casa Grande, grandchildren Lester Jones, Lairda Smith, Beau Fleming, Mary Fleming, Jonny Bochat and Michelle Clapp, 15 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren, and caretaker Andrea Moya who became a dear friend over the last 5 years. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; son, Richard Arp; daughter, Karen Honeycutt and grandchild, Lee Jones.

Obituary Preview: Elisa Zuniga Juarez, beloved mother, wife, sister, daughter, aunt, passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at the age of 53.
She was born on May 24, 1969, in Richland, Washington to Abelardo and Maria Zuniga.
Lisa, proud of her roots as a young migrant worker in Washington, stayed humble and never forgot about her beginnings. She brought her hard-working ethic and kind heart to Eloy, AZ in the 80s, where she graduated from Santa Cruz High School and later met her husband of 31 years, Jimmy Juarez. She dedicated her life to always helping others whether it be family, friends, or the numerous students during her time as the director of financial aid at Central Arizona College. Lisa worked hard to earn her bachelor’s degree in psychology as she simultaneously worked full time and raised her three kids Miranda, Jimmy, and Julianna Juarez. She not only preached about working hard to bring better and new opportunities, but she showed her children, nieces, and nephews firsthand.
Lisa was always so nurturing and loving and accepting. You could always count on her to brighten your day. Her energy and her smile would light up a room. She was proud of her role as a mother and was a role model to many. She enjoyed spending time with her family, and she was always at every birthday, graduation, sporting event and family gathering. She loved talking on the phone for hours with her sisters and brother. Lisa was very spontaneous and loved going on random weekend trips with her kids and husband. She had an adventurous spirit and loved camping with family, going on rollercoasters, traveling, trying new cuisines, going to the movie theater, attending concerts, and football games. It is undeniable, the unwavering love she had for her children, husband, sisters, brother, nieces and nephews, and father. She will forever be greatly missed.
Elisa is survived by her husband, Jimmy Juarez Sr. Her children Miranda, Jimmy, and Julianna Juarez. Her brother Abel Zuniga and sister Zulema Zuniga and her father Abelardo Zuniga Sr. Her nieces: Jessica, Adriana, Alexa, Rebecca and her nephews: Alfonso, Alejandro, Juan, David, Edward, Miguel, and Jackson.
Elisa is preceded in death by her mother Maria Barron Zuniga, and stepmother Gertrudis Gallego Zuniga, and sisters Irma Zuniga Moncada and Cristina Zuniga.
A memorial gathering and celebration of life will be held at J. Warren Funeral Services in Casa Grande on Friday, May 19, 2023, at 2:00PM.

Ms. Canfield-Fales was born on June 28, 1952, in Corry, Pennsylvania, and was a daughter of Victor and Beverly Norcross. She served as American Kennel Club president and as a club member and bred and showed cocker spaniels. She produced 13 grand champions in the United States and Canada before moving to a smaller breed, the Maltese.
She formerly lived in Saddleback Farms, where she raised horses, turkeys, chickens and pygmy goats. She loved her family and friends with all her heart.
Survivors include her husband, Leon Fales; three sons, Richard Adamicki, Matthew and Donald Fouch; and three stepchildren, Keith, Lance and Jessica Fales. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Victoria Norcross.

Jeannine Larkin was born as Kriebel-Jooren in Nijmegen, The Netherlands on 02-03 1933.
Preceding her in death is her eldest son Jerome M. Agre, and beloved husband Bill Larkin. She saw WWII through the eyes of a seven to twelve year old girl. After the war she finished
high school and studied painting and sketching at the Quellinus School in Amsterdam. In 1953 she married Mr. Jerome Agre and moved to Roseau County Minnesota USA. In 1956 the Agre Family moved to Anchorage, Alaska. Her marriage with Jerome produced a half dozen wonderful children, Linda Agre, Jerry M. Agre, Martin J. Agre, Michelle A. Agre, Jason E. Agre,
and James A. Agre. Mrs Larkin, (Jeannine (Nicky) Agre-Brongers) Moved back to The Netherlands in 1970, where she resumed painting and sketching. In 1977 she was the first woman to pilot metro system
trains for the City of Amsterdam. In 1981 Jeannine Larkin fell in love with Korean War veteran Army infantry mechanic William (Bill) Brendan Larkin of Eagle River, Alaska, the couple married in 1982, Jeannine and Bill lived together In Anchorage and Palmer, Alaska, retiring happily in Casa
Grande, Arizona in 2002. Mrs Larkin will be missed by all her family and friends in The Netherlands, USA, Australia and
Germany.

Viola was a 65 year resident of Maricopa and lived in Coolidge for 20 years prior to that.  She was a strong business woman and devoted 34 years of her life to teaching.  She loved to travel, dance and cook, as well as quilting
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Baugus, son, Joe Baugus, mother, Emma Underwood and sister, Imagene Johnson.  Left to cherish her memory are her children, Sharon Holmes (of Arizona City, Arizona) and Harold Baugus, Jr (of Lincoln City, Oregon), five grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
A funeral ceremony will take place on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at 9:30 am at Maricopa First Baptist Church in Maricopa, Arizona.  Graveside services and internment will take place following at Mountain View Cemetery in Casa Grande, Arizona.

Barbara Jane DeWeese - January 09, 1928 - April 06, 2023

Obituary Preview: Barbara DeWeese (95) of Arizona City died April 6, 2023 at The Garnett at Casa Grande.  She had resided in the community since 1991.  A memorial service was held on Friday, April 28, 2023 at 11:00 am at J. Warren Funeral Services Cole & Maud Gardens Chapel, with Ms. Aurora Corriero officiating.  Internment took place immediately following the memorial service at Valley Memorial Park Cemetery in Coolidge, Arizona.
Mrs. DeWeese was born January 9, 1928 in Orange, New Jersey to Howard and Esther (Terrell) Pidgeon.  In 1943 the family moved to Oxford, Ohio, where she attended McGuffey High School.  Attending Miami University, Oxford, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree.  At Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio, she received a Master of Arts degree.  She was a certified Speech and Language Pathologist and provided therapy services in both Ohio and Arizona.
Upon moving to Arizona from Ohio in 1975, Mrs. DeWeese served as a speech/language pathologist in some Pinal County schools.  In 1980 Mrs. DeWeese and husband, Richard, moved to Kingman, Arizona, where she was employed by the Kingman Elementary School District.  Following retirement in 1989, both she and her husband returned to Pinal County.
Prior to retirement, Mrs. DeWeese was a member of her professional organizations and very active particularly in Ohio.  Speech and Language Therapy was her only vocation, and she enjoyed it very much.  Among other interests were volunteering at the Sunland Visitors Center and earlier at the local library when able.
Survivors include a niece, Stephanie, of Topeka, Kansas.  She was preceeded in death by her parents, her husband, Richard, a younger sister, Pauline Spanabel and an older sister, Virginia Pidgeon.

Robert passed away peacefully on March 31, 2023 at his home in Arizona City, AZ.
Robert was born in Ogden, Utah to Jack and JoAnn Jensen. He and his wife Valerie were married and sealed for time. and all eternity in the Salt Lake, Utah LDS Temple on April 1, 1975.
Robert is survived by his wife Valerie, their two sons Aaron (Jennifer) Jensen, Bradley (Jessica) Jensen, Seven grandchildren, One great granddaughter, His brother Curtis Jensen and two sisters Connie Jensen and Nanette (David) Nay.
Robert dearly loved his family and will be greatly missed by those who loved and cared for him.
Robert enjoyed many hobbies in life, especially Studying History. He was quite the Historian. He was very passionate about his favorite NFL Football team, the Minnesota Vikings. Robert loved his Danish Heritage.
Robert enjoyed participating in Church activities with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and the many opportunities to serve others and serve the Lord.
He had a very firm testimony of our Lord Jesus Christ and lived his life by following the example and teachings of our Savior.
Special thanks to the doctors and nurses at Banner Hospital, Casa Grande for their Service as his health declined. Mr. Port was born on Sept. 21, 1966, in Blue Island, Illinois. He moved from Chicago to Casa Grande 33 years ago. He loved swimming, and his favorite thing was going to the beach.
He enjoyed playing all sorts of board and card games with his children. He also enjoyed woodworking, camping and painting. He loved his family, was devoted to them and worked hard to support them.

Jim was born January 14, 1935 to John and Thelma Russum in El Dorado, Kansas. After graduating from El Dorado High School, he joined the Marine Corps and was stationed in Korea. After three years in the Marine Corps, he studied education at El Dorado Jr. College and Washburn University. While attending Jr. College, he met his life-long love, Mary Markham. After a 6-month courtship they were married in 1957.
After obtaining a bachelor’s degree in education, Jim and Mary moved to Arizona where Jim earned a Master’s degree from ASU. He began his career at Casa Grande Union High School in 1966. He held many positions including teacher, football coach, track coach, athletic director, and assistant principal. Jim also served as Eloy Jr. High principal and superintendent before retiring in 1993. He very much enjoyed his time with the many “kids” he taught and coached. He cherished friendships with fellow coaches and their families and impacted all who knew him and lifelong friends were made.
Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with family and friends. After retiring in 1993, Jim and Mary traveled part-time in an RV for 13 years. Later years centered around home and family. Jim deeply loved and cared for his grandchildren.
Jim resided in Casa Grande for 57 years. He attended the Casa Grande Christian Church (Compass) where he served as Deacon and Elder. Jim served as Kiwanis Club president, and was a Lions Club member.
Jim was preceded in death by his father, mother, and sister Karen. He is survived by his wife, Mary, son, Michael Russum (Tammy), daughter, Kathy Martinez (Joaquin), sister, Phyllis Nace, 6 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
A family service will be held at Arizona Veterans' Memorial Cemetery at Marana.

Jonathan had been a resident of Coolidge, AZ for most of his life. He loved his community. He was a very service-minded individual. Jonathan was a firefighter for eight years for the City of Coolidge, with his little brother, Matt. Jonathan was a passionate man that loved hard. He loved his family, he loved his children, he loved his wife, he loved his grandsons. Above all, he loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. For the last seven years Jonathan had been a truck driver with his wife, enjoying traveling and seeing lots of countries. Jonathan had a love for going fast and riding motorcycles. He built a few.
Jonathan is survived by his wife, Jenniffer Mayo of Coolidge, AZ; five children, Audie Cutrer (Kolby Cutrer) of Coolidge, Connor Mayo (Justyce) of Phoenix, Henry Klein of Texas, Heath Klein of Coolidge, Hailey Klein (Rick) of Dubuque, IA; brother, Matt Mayo (Krista) of Coolidge; sister, Ginger Mayo of Coolidge; his mother, Vicki Mayo; and two grandsons, Bryant Cutrer and Dakota Cutrer. He also is survived by two nephews, Duncan and Logan Mayo of Coolidge.
Jonathan was preceded in death by his father, Bob Mayo and a brother, Tom Mayo.
Jonathan will be missed by many but will never be forgotten. His larger-than-life presence left an impact on everyone that met him.
Memorial services will be held Monday, April 3, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at New Life Baptist Church, 3151 N. Piper Ave., Casa Grande, AZ. Reception information to be announced at service.

Mrs. Biel was born in Spring Valley, Wisconsin, and was a daughter of Otto and Alma (Hurtgen) Adams. She married Orval Biel on Aug. 25, 1956, and started her married life in River Falls, Wisconsin. In 1961 they moved to the Adams family farm near Spring Valley and in 1972 to Menomonie, Wisconsin. She worked for WestCap driving around six counties for family planning. She later worked in security for 3M with Orval in Menomonie.
In 1995 they started their adventures on the road with a motor home and two cats. Their excursions went west to Arizona and to Texas, California, Florida, Oregon, Washington, British Columbia, Utah, Nebraska and North Dakota. They were part of the Escapees RV camping group. In 2002 she sold the RV and moved to Cypress Point in Casa Grande, then in 2018 to Villas by Mary T to a larger apartment with attached garage. She enjoyed her time there.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 2000 and a sister, Sylvia Gladys Faber. Survivors include a sister, Vanita Johnson of Hudson, Wisconsin; six daughters and sons, Elizabeth Otto of Cannon Falls, Minnesota, Phyllis Reilly of Hastings, Minnesota, Carol Crook of Fort Davis, Texas, Nancy Gudgeon of Tennessee, Roger Biel of Casa Grande and Glen Biel of Hardeeville, South Carolina; an adopted son, David Misfeldt of Menomonie; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Burial beside her husband at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 15, in National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix, Section 18E, No. 703. Wake beginning at 4 p.m. at Roger Biel's home in Casa Grande.

He is the beloved father of Dave Twarog and his wife Mary, and daughter Janice Taylor and her late husband, Timothy Taylor, the grandfather of Matthew Twarog, Anna Taylor and Elizabeth Roemmele. He is also survived by his brother Joseph Twarog and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded by his sister, Veronica Soloman and his brother Edward Twarog.
A Christian Mass will be held at Our Lady of Grace Church, 18700 N. Saint Gabriel Way, Maricopa, AZ on April 5, 2023 at 10:30 am.
