Marcia began her teaching career at West Chester Friends School.  She worked enthusiastically and lovingly to instill a passion for learning into her students and continued her own education at West Chester University.  She earned her Master of Arts degree in Education in 1989. She went on to teach in the Downingtown and Wyomissing School Districts, making her mark in her fun-loving way in both places and continuing to make faithful friendships.  Her passion for learning inspired her to attend the University of Pennsylvania where she earned her Doctor of Education degree in 1997.  She retired as a Reading Specialist in 2011.

She loved to dress up in costumes, especially at school, and always made sure everyone had a Dr. Seuss hat to wear on Read Across America Day.  Long walks on the beach or through the woods were a favorite pastime, especially with her beloved dog, Dudley.

Marcia would love for us all to remember her by having a party celebrating her life.  We will do just that in the spring of 2022, hoping it will be safer to gather at that time.  In the meantime, please honor Marcia by being a faithful, loving and loyal friend and nurturing a passion to learn and constantly discover new things. And of course, enjoy a scoop of ice cream in her honor!  Please consider donating to the Alzheimer’s Association in her name.
