After a six month battle with lung cancer, he passed peacefully in his home at sunset on March 24, 2022. He is survived by his loving wife, Kathleen Rasmussen Snow, his children, Cassandra Snow Pulliam and Alexandra Kateland Danielson-Snow (their mother, Michelle Mirander), Benjamin David Snow, and Sarah Jean Snow, grandchild, Austin Louis Lamar Pulliam, father, Lamar, and sister, Ashley Snow Barnette. David was born and raised in Mobile, AL where he grew to have a passion for art and music. He attended St. Luke's Episcopal School and graduated from Davidson High School in 1979. He followed in his father and brother's footsteps and went on to the University of Alabama. After cheering on the Tide for 2 years, he returned to Coastal Alabama and became a familiar voice on the radio, DJing for TK101, WABB, and 92ZEW. In 1983 he decided to take his talents to the West Coast where he was a DJ in numerous night clubs and on KROQ radio. After moving to the West Coast, he stayed put, and became a devoted husband of nearly 27 years, a loving father to 3 daughters and a son, a proud granddaddy, and a talented graphic designer. Many would call David to be the funniest person they knew. He had a knack for snark and a quick wit that all were fond of. No matter how small the task, David gave it his all, he was passionate about anything that came his way. His musical taste will be passed on for generations to come. In his later years, he proudly became sober, and was 660 days sober on the day he passed. He will be missed by all who were blessed to know him.

Dianna Gale Hernandez - November 09, 1945 - March 01, 2022

Departed: 03/01/2022 (Lomita)
Obituary Preview: Dianna Gale Hernandez of Carson, California passed away March 1, 2022 in Torrance, California at the age of 76. She was born to parents Gail Morrill and Marian Morrill on November 9, 1945 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. This, like all obituaries, will list some of the details of her life, but what you need to understand foremost is that she was the most lovingly devoted woman one could know. She was present for her husband and all of us when we needed a shoulder to cry on, and never faltered in her beliefs and love for God, family, and friends.Dianna's radiant personality symbolized the phrase, "I would hope that I have a style or personality that is evident wherever I go." Although born in Council Bluff, she grew up in Carson and would at times reminisce of the good old days and how much fun she and her siblings would have as kids. Dianna would always get a big grin on her face when talking about her dad, how he would play the banjo, harmonica, and sing all at the same time, and then grandma would join in...befor eyou knew it, it would turn into a ho down. Dianna is survived by her husband, Richard Hernandez where they lived in Carson, and is always sunny and 80 degrees (according to Richard); children, Reno Fernandez (Sylvia), Linda Tyndall (Donny), Rick Hernandez, Kelly Pizano, Cindy Hernandez (Cesar), Michael Hernandez (Giselle); brothers, Jerry, Charles, and Stanley Morrill; sister, Sharon; 18 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren with 2 on the way for 14 great-grandchildren; also several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by father, Gail Morrill; mother, Marian Morrill (nee Peer), brothers, Dale and Dennis Morrill; sisters, Velma and twin sister Thelma.Dianna was a wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, friend who loved being surrounded by her family and friends, all of whom cherished each and every moment that was shared with her.In 1960, Dianna started her working career as a furniture seamstress where she worked in the industry for 40 years at several companies, and was forced to retire early after battling and defeating breast cancer in 2000. I'm sure many people had no idea of that crisis in her life, and that is simply who Dianna was, she did not want others to worry themselves, but appreciated your prayers and love. She loved her Heavenly Father with all of her heart and tried to live to God's standards on a daily basis. As my father-in-law says, God granted them a miracle when Dianna became cancer-free Thank you Lord.Dianna enjoyed her front porch garden and loved her ponds. She enjoyed hosting family dinners, BBQ's, Easter egg hunts, and many gatherings with friends and family to celebrate each other.Dianna was happiest when she was next to her husband and being with family, rather at their home or traveling to- and from- events. She loved her car shows and tried to attend as many as possible. She was so proud of her family and their 1938 Chevy Master Deluxe. We love you Dianna.

Tim is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Elizabeth; his son Robert, along with wife Katya; and daughter Michelle. Predeceased by an older brother, Dennis, Tim leaves behind two other brothers Walter (Ann) and John (Shellie) Desmond. Some would describe Tim as the consummate tech-wizard. From the early years in his basement home "lab", his passion to assemble, create and analyze knew no bounds. He never encountered an experiment that failed to fascinate him. And friends and family knew if they ever wanted something that didn't work to work - or that DID work, to work some other way - Tim was the 'go-to' guy.Tim's talent for exploring, discovery and sharing served him well into adulthood. Tim was justifiably proud of his National Board for Professional Teaching Standards Certification, always looking to improve himself as an educator and give his very best to his students. These included as lector and eucharistic minister; church choir and Holy Name Society member; parish school technical services and teaching; and the church's annual Lomita Fair fundraiser. As a long-time judo practitioner and sensei (instructor) at Harbor Dojo judo club, Tim was popular, sharing his expertise and skill working with new students. Frequently Asked Questions

What is an obituary?

An obituary is a written notice that announces the death of a person, typically including their name, age, date of birth and death, and a brief biography. It's usually published in a newspaper, online obituary platform, or funeral home website to inform friends, family, and community members of the person's passing.

Why are obituaries important?

Obituaries serve as a way to honor and remember the deceased, while also providing important information to those who knew them. They help to notify others of the person's passing, share details about their life and accomplishments, and provide an opportunity for loved ones to pay tribute and celebrate their memory.

What is the purpose of an obituary?

The primary purpose of an obituary is to announce the death of a person and provide basic information about their life. It also serves as a way to share news of the person's passing with a wider audience, beyond immediate family and friends.

Who writes an obituary?

Typically, a family member or close friend of the deceased writes the obituary. In some cases, a funeral home or obituary writer may assist with writing the obituary. The writer should be someone who knew the person well and can provide accurate and meaningful information about their life.

What information should be included in an obituary?

A typical obituary includes the person's name, age, date of birth and death, place of residence, occupation, education, military service (if applicable), hobbies, interests, and surviving family members. It may also include a brief biography, achievements, and any notable accomplishments.

How long should an obituary be?

The length of an obituary can vary depending on the publication or platform. Typically, it ranges from 100 to 500 words. Online obituaries often have more flexibility in terms of length and content.

Can I include photos in an obituary?

Yes, many publications and online platforms allow you to include one or more photos with the obituary. This can be a great way to personalize the tribute and make it more meaningful to readers.

How do I submit an obituary to a newspaper?

Contact the newspaper's obituary department directly to inquire about their submission process and guidelines. Be prepared to provide the necessary information and payment (if required) for publication.

Can I write my own obituary?

Yes, it's becoming increasingly popular for people to write their own obituaries in advance. This can be a therapeutic exercise that allows you to reflect on your life and legacy. Keep in mind that it's essential to share your wishes with your loved ones so they know what you want.

What is the difference between an obituary and a death notice?

A death notice is a brief announcement of someone's passing, usually including only the most basic information such as name, age, and date of death. An obituary is a more detailed tribute that provides additional information about the person's life.

Can I edit an obituary after it's been published?

In most cases, it's not possible to make significant changes to an obituary once it's been published. However, if there are errors or inaccuracies, you may be able to request corrections from the publication or platform.

How long does it take for an obituary to be published?

The timeframe for publishing an obituary varies depending on the publication or platform. Some newspapers may publish within 24-48 hours, while online platforms may post immediately after submission.

Can I republish an obituary at a later date?

In some cases, yes. You may want to republish an obituary on special occasions like birthdays or anniversaries of the person's passing. Check with the original publication or platform for their policies on republication.

Are online obituaries permanent?

Most online obituaries remain available indefinitely, providing a permanent record of the person's life and legacy. However, it's essential to check with the specific platform or website for their archiving policies.

Can I include charitable donations or memorial information in an obituary?

Yes! Many families choose to include information about charitable donations or memorial funds in lieu of flowers. This can be a meaningful way to honor the deceased and support a worthy cause.

How do I find an old obituary?

You can try searching online archives of newspapers or websites that specialize in historical records. Local libraries or genealogical societies may also have access to archived newspapers and records.

Can I create a digital archive of my loved one's obituary?

Yes! Many online platforms offer digital archiving options for preserving your loved one's obituary. You can also save a copy of the obituary as a PDF or image file for personal keepsake.

What is the cost of publishing an obituary?

The cost varies widely depending on the publication or platform. Some newspapers charge by the word or line, while online platforms may offer free or low-cost options. Be sure to check pricing before submitting your obituary.

Can I include humor or anecdotes in an obituary?

Absolutely! Obituaries don't have to be somber affairs. Including humorous stories or anecdotes can help capture the personality and spirit of your loved one.

How do I ensure accuracy when writing an obituary?

Can I write an obituary for someone who died without family or friends?

If you're aware of someone who has passed away without known family or friends, you can still write an obituary as a way to acknowledge their life and humanity. This can be especially meaningful for those who were marginalized or overlooked during their lifetime.

Is it okay to delay publishing an obituary?

In some cases, delaying publication might be necessary due to circumstances like private funeral services or sensitive family situations. However, it's generally recommended to publish an obituary soon after the person's passing to ensure timely notification of friends and acquaintances.

Can I use social media to share an obituary?

Absolutely! Social media platforms can be effective ways to share news of a loved one's passing with a wider audience. You can share a link to the online obituary or post a summary with relevant details.
