Obituary Preview: Lois Jane Gowers Wamsley, 74, of Buckhannon, passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport.
She was born in Clarksburg on June 14, 1949, a daughter of the late Ira Gowers and Nona Starcher Gowers. On October 25, 1969, Lois married David Louis Wamsley, Sr. and they shared nearly 42 years of marriage until his passing on August 4, 2011. She was also preceded in death by four brothers: Orlan Gowers, Johny Gowers, Jimmy Gowers, and Bobby Gowers; and three sisters: Juanita Swisher, JoAnn Flint, and Sharon Marteney.
Forever cherishing their memories of Lois’s giving nature are three children: David Louis Wamsley, Jr., Kevin Wayne Wamsley, and Jason Paul Wamsley; four grandchildren: Corey Michael Wamsley and wife, Brittany, James Ray Wamsley, Brandon Wyatt Wamsley and Kevin David Wamsley; two great grandchildren: Aaliyah Faith Wamsley and Houston Michael Wamsley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lois was a member of the Macedonia United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and cooking. Lois had a big heart and included the neighborhood children in her family.
Family and friends will gather for Visitation at Clutter Funeral and Cremation located at 21 Elnora Circle in Buckhannon from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1, 2024. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at the Macedonia United Methodist Church with Pastor Paul Boyles officiating. Interment will follow at the Macedonia United Methodist Church cemetery.

Kevin "Fence Post" Cleon Post - April 28, 1950 - April 23, 2024

Obituary Preview: Kevin “Fence Post” Cleon Post, 73, of Buckhannon, made his final journey to Heaven from Holbrooks Health Care in Buckhannon on Tuesday, April 23, 2024.
He was born in Buckhannon on April 28, 1950, the son of the late Raymond Cleon Post and Geneva Lucille Post.
On December 25, 1972, Kevin married Cheryl Susan Raikes. They shared nearly forty-nine years together before her passing on September 22, 2021.
Forever cherishing their memories of Kevin’s ornery nature are two children: Kelvin Post and Ieshya Claypool; and three grandchildren: Damien Claypool, Ashton Post, and Mishka Claypool.
Kevin was a Christian by faith and a 1968 graduate of Buckhannon-Upshur High School. He continued his education by gaining a bachelor’s degree in education at Fairmont State College. Kevin’s employment history included Moore’s Business Forms, K.C. Post Trucking from 1975 to the 2000’s, J.O. Jett Trucking, delivering mail, and heavy equipment operator for Breckenridge Company. He enjoyed tinkering on big trucks and selling and trading C.B. radios. Kevin also had a collection of knives and flashlights.
Kevin’s request for Cremation is being honored. Friends and family will gather at Clutter Funeral and Cremation located at 21 Elnora Circle in Buckhannon from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 30, 2024. A Celebration of Life Service will follow in the Clutter Funeral Home Chapel at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Gary Evans officiating.

She was born in Buckhannon, on February 11, 1981, a daughter of Ira Edward Sandy and Darlene Glover Clevenger of Buckhannon.
Forever cherishing their memories of Carmen’s loving nature with her parents are four children: Devin Cesaro and wife, Brianna, of Fayetteville, NC, Eli Evans of Jane Lew, Cameron Horner of Belmont, and Micayla Horner of Saint Mary’s; one brother, David Henderson of Buckhannon; three grandchildren: Salem Cesaro, Alva Cesaro, and Dean Cesaro; grandmother, Sharon Woody; her boyfriend, Kerry Mahoney; lots of nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by one brother, Cody Henderson and one sister, Whitney Henderson.
She liked collecting marbles, listening to music and going to concerts, and crocheting blankets. Spending time outdoors camping and riding ATV’s. Carmen had a passion for raising opossums.

Donnie Francis Cox - February 25, 1930 - April 23, 2024

Obituary Preview: Donnie Urbas Meadows Cox, of Richwood, WV, passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, in Buckhannon.
Born on February 25, 1930, in Log Camp 73 to Joe and Francis Urbas. Donnie grew up in Jerryville and on a farm in Camden on Gauley. Donnie was an alumnus of Cowen High School and spent her summers working at Camp Cesear in Webster County. For over 71 years, Donnie made Richwood her home, where she worked at Prelaz’s Restaurant for 30 years and the Richwood Nursing Home for 8 years.
Donnie was a unique, beautiful individual who deeply loved her family and friends. She always made sure all who interacted with her felt welcomed and cared for. If you stopped by her house in Richwood, Donnie always ensured family and visitors had something to eat- especially sweets or pepperoni rolls- and was always happy to chat or play various card games.
Donnie loved to be at her campsite on the Gauley River- watching her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren interact around the campfire or play in the river. She was an avid news watcher- along with her 50+ year neighbor Maxine Bowyer- and loved reading. Donnie was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Richwood and had the pleasure of being a member of Father Ed’s parish at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Buckhannon.
Donnie Cox is survived by thirteen children, John (Lori) Meadows, Diane Lyon, Karen (Brian) Towe, Ray Cox Jr, Robert Cox, Sharon Cornell, James (Jill) Cox, Sheryl Cox, Kevin (Lisa) Cox, Kim Hoffman, Jerry (Kris) Cox, Roger (Karen) Cox, Michelle (Dan) Bulger; brother, John Urbas; brother-in-law, Richard Ward; 28 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by husband, Edgar Meadows; son, Eddie Meadows; husband, Ray Cox; parents, Joe and Frances Urbas; sister, Julia Ward; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Urbas; and grandson, Austin Cox.
A private service will be held at a later date. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials be directed via check to Richwood Public Library, 8 White Avenue, Richwood, WV, 26261.

Obituary Preview: Julia Rose Hamner, 69, of Gaines, left this earth to gain her wings on Saturday, April 20, 2024, after a long illness at Autumn Lake Health Care Center in Elkins.
She was born in Buckhannon on June 25, 1954, a daughter of Wanita Mae Gregory Hamner and the late French L. Hamner. In addition to her father, Julia was preceded in death by six brothers: French Lloyd Hamner,Jr., Frank Hamner, Phillip Hamner, Michael John Hamner, Paul Eric Hamner, and Steven Mark Hamner; and one sister, Minnie Mae Hamner.
Julia is survived by her mother, Wanita Hamner of Gaines; five siblings: Melva Teter of Walkersville, Richard Hamner, Allan “Sputter” Hamner and companion, Sherrie Friend, Stanley Hamner, and Lisa Perrine and husband, Richard, all of Gaines; and several nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
She graduated from Buckhannon-Upshur High School and was a Methodist by faith. Julia was a outdoors person. She loved planting flowers and doing anything outside. Julia worked at the Moose in Buckhannon for several years. She enjoyed life and always had a really big smile for everyone. Julia made friends where ever she went. She had a heart of gold. Julia will be missed by all who knew her. She was a really big help to her mom before her health starting going downhill.
Julia’s request for Cremation has been honored and a Private Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.

Carl Hull - May 20, 1920 - April 17, 2024

Obituary Preview: Carl Hull, 103, of French Creek, and formally of Pickens, died on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at St. Joseph’s Hospital surrounded by his family.
He was born in Randolph County on May 20, 1920, a son of the late James William Hull and Roxie Cogar Hull. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
On April 13, 1946 he married Betty Lee Blosser who preceded him in death on May 16, 2011. Also preceding him in death was one son, Roger Lee Hull.
In addition to his parents and son, he was preceded in death by six brothers: Ralph, Orville, Earl, Jim, Virgil, and Charles; one sister, Pearl; sisters-in-law: Mary, Willa, Deloris, and Mary Reta.
He is survived by two daughters: Sheila Kay Ward and husband, Roger, and Patricia Lynn Stone and husband, Gary, all of Buckhannon; four grandchildren: Roger Hull, Jr and wife, Tina, of FL, Julia Kruk of VA, Tara Smith and husband, Randy, of TN, and Brenton Stone and wife, Gretchen, of VA; five great grandchildren: Mikayla, Meghan, Maisy and Madelyn of FL, and Elizabeth of VA.
Carl enlisted in the United States Army in April in 1942 as a PFC Lineman, Telephone and Telegraph. He served in the Pacific for 26 months with the 82nd signal battalion installing, repairing, and maintaining military telephone and telegraph systems with an Honorable Discharge in December 1945. His decorations included: American Theater Ribbon, Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon with Bronze Service Star, Philippine Liberation Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, and World War II Victory Medal. Carl then worked for Penn Line Service for several years before spending time as an electrician at Bethlehem Mines for eight years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working in his garden and orchard. Carl shared his fruits and vegetables with all the neighbors. In later years, he enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles with his family and friends.

Funeral Services will begin at 1 p.m. in the Clutter Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Rodney Heckert officiating. Interment will follow at Pickens Cemetery with full military honors provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard and the U.S. Army.

He was born May 19, 1993, to Tina and Mike Hall, who survive. Jared graduated from Webster County High School class of 2011, WV Wesleyan College class of 2015, and Liberty University. He was a member of 4-H, the high school band, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. Jared was a member of the Craigsville Baptist Church. He loved to play music, traveling abroad, and outdoor activities. At the time of his death, Jared was a teacher at the Buckhannon-Academy Elementary School in Buckhannon. He previously worked at Eagle School in Martinsburg and St. Patrick’s School in Weston.
In addition to his parents, Jared is survived by his sister, Courtney Hall, and his nephew, Aiden Hall of Buckhannon; grandmother and step grandfather: Phyllis and Raymond McCartney of Adrian; great aunt, Patricia Curtis of Crawford; 19 aunts and uncles; many extended family members and friends; and best friend, Mike Schartiger. He was preceded in death by grandparents: Franklin Hall, Galen and Jerry Gilmore, and Junior Plaugher.
Family and friends will gather for Visitation at WV Wesleyan College – Wesley Chapel located at 59 College Ave. in Buckhannon from 12:30-3:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, 2024. On March 26, 1949, Sharon married the love of her life, Forrest Mayford Lake, who preceded her in death on October 22, 1994. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Melvin P. Woods, Jr.; and five sisters: Maxine Staver, Betty Blake, Zula Beer, Goldie Gibson, and Helma Faye Cooper.
Forever cherishing their memories of Sharon’s giving nature are two sons: Harold Lake and wife, Janice, of Xenia, OH, and Mayford Lake and wife, Jan, of Hacker Valley; three daughters: Leona Foster and husband, Melvin, of Kanawha Head, Naomi Doolittle and husband, John, of Charleston, and Adrienne Hissam and husband, Gary, of Kanawha Head; one sister, Thelma Williams of Ravenna, OH; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Vernon Eugene Bennett - June 22, 1942 - March 25, 2024

Obituary Preview: Vernon Eugene Bennett, 81, of Buckhannon, passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, March 25, 2024.
He was born in Troy, WV on June 22, 1942, a son of the late Reverend Talbert Nelson Bennett and Louella “Maxine” Chapman Bennett.
Vernon is survived by his brother, Lowell Bennett of Buckhannon; one niece, Sarah Harper and husband, John, of Charles Town; one nephew, Steven Bennett and wife, Amanda, of Millwood; and three great nieces: Zoe Harper, Kayleigh Bennett, and Hallie Bennett.
Vernon was a graduate of Buckhannon-Upshur High School in 1960 and earned his Bachelor's Degree at West Virginia Wesleyan College. He then devoted his talents to teaching/music in Barbour, Lewis, and Upshur counties. His passion for music was matched only by his love for his community, which he served faithfully as a case worker for the Division of Health and Human Resources. An accomplished pianist and organ player, Vernon's music graced the halls of many churches, weddings, and events, and he was a cherished member of the New Community Church. He also enjoyed volunteering during elections and was known for his delightful company at dinner gatherings with friends.

Betty Jean Coughlin - May 18, 1928 - March 14, 2024

Obituary Preview: It is with both a heavy heart and a spirit of celebration that we share the life of Betty Jean Coughlin who peacefully departed this world on March 14, 2024 at St. Joseph’s Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born on May 18, 1928, a daughter of the late Quirico “Quick” and Jessie Douglas Fumerola, Betty spent her 95 years enriching the lives of everyone around her with her warmth, resilience, and loving spirit. Now being reunited with her husband, Paul Michael Coughlin, who passed on February 13, 2009, grandson Steven Jarrell, son-in-law Gary Tomblyn, and her siblings: Roy Fumerola, Dewey Fumerola, William Fumerola, James Fumerola, and Margaret Pingley.
Betty was a woman of many talents and passions. She was an award-winning quilter, homemaker, mother and MeMa to many. Her quilts were not just beautiful pieces of art, but also woven narratives of love, time, and tradition. Betty's creativity was boundless, extending beyond the quilting frame to crocheting and embroidery. Her cooking skills were a testament to her love for her family and friends; each dish a masterpiece that warmed hearts. She was a charter member of St. Joseph's Hospital Auxiliary and a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

Obituary Preview: Chong Cha "Candy" Fogg, 72, of Buckhannon, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2024. She was a vibrant spirit born on September 1, 1951, in Bong Hwa, South Korea, she lived a life that was as colorful and adventurous as her spirit. She had a passion for cooking and had a broad culture in tasting other foods.
Chong Cha spent her early years in South Korea graduating from high school in 1969 before moving to Buckhannon, where she created a beautiful life with her beloved husband, Carson Fogg. They married on August 7, 1971, and their union was blessed with love, companionship, and wonderful children. Chong Cha was an industrious woman who attended Beacon Bible College and worked for over 12 years at Moore's Business Forms. She carried her faith boldly in her heart and was a committed to sharing her faith with the Lord and always looking to shine a light to someone else as a member of the Living Word Church of God in Buckhannon. She was a member of the Christian Motorcyclists Association Chapter #524 where she met kindred spirits who shared her passion for traveling the world with her family.
Chong Cha’s heart was as big as her zest for life. In her eyes, her greatest achievement was her family, whom she loved unconditionally. She leaves behind her husband, Carson; son, Jason Fogg and wife, Theresa, of Nicholasville, KY; seven grandchildren: Michaela Barker and husband, Jesse, and Bronson, Sophia, Colson, Makson, Quinson, and Carys Fogg; and great-grandchild, Sonny Barker; six siblings: Chong Sun Hwang, Wan Sang Hwang, Tack Sang Hwang, Hee Sook Hwang, Hee Chul Hwang, and Hyun Sook Hwang. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her. She was predeceased by her parents, Yoon Geong Hwang and Hee Dong Kim, her son, Sonny Fogg, and sibling, Ho Sang Hwang.

Obituary Preview: With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Dana Robert Bickel, 82, a beloved husband, father, brother and friend to all whose lives he touched. He departed this life on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport.
Born in Buckhannon on May 16, 1941, Dana was the son of the late Dana Clyde and Margaret Elizabeth Johnson Bickel.
His vibrant spirit and love for his family and community will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who knew him. As the great Mark Twain once said, "The secret of getting ahead is getting started," and Dana embodied this in every aspect of his life. He was a man of many talents and interests, with an entrepreneurial spirit that never waned. He found his calling as a barber, creating an inviting space for his customers to not only get a haircut but also to engage in heartfelt conversations. He was the proud owner of a barber shop and later a Sporting Goods Shop in Cleveland, WV. His commitment to his work was recognized by his several years as a foreman for the WV Division of Highways. Dana's love for the outdoors was evident in his hobbies. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, a lifetime member of the NRA, and a member of the National Elks Association. Dana's collection of cars, knives, watches, and guns, as well as die-cast model cars, showcased his attention to detail and appreciation for craftsmanship. He attended church at Jerry's Run, further strengthening his ties to the community he loved.
Dana is survived by his loving wife whom he married on August 18, 1963, Annie Marie King Bickel; his devoted daughter and son-in-law, Charlene and Patrick O'Donnell; his caring sister, Carol Floyd; many nieces and nephews that he loved like they were his grandchildren; and his fur grandchild, Bruzer. Dana's love, wisdom, and passion for life will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched.

Ronald found joy in the simplest of things, like spending quality time with his grandchildren and family. His heart was always full when surrounded by his loved ones, and his life was a beautiful reflection of the love he had for them. Surviving are three daughters: Tabatha Miles and companion, Gerard Workman, of Buckhannon, Jennifer Blake and husband, Richard, of Buckhannon, and Shirley Dixon and husband, Cody, of Weston; 10 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and close extended family: Kenneth Miles and Angelique Miles of Buckhannon, Rose Cornelius and husband, Troy D. Jr., their children, Troy D. Cornelius, III and wife Tadem, Cheyenne Blasier and husband, Kelson, and Jasmine Cornelius and husband, Jon Nottingham.
Ronald, a proud graduate of Mount Vernon High School, served his country with honor as a veteran of the U.S. Army. His dedication to his service was rivaled only by his commitment to his work. After his military service, he made his mark as a Security Officer in Cleveland, OH, and later at a lumber yard in Buckhannon. Ronald was truly a jack of all trades, always eager to lend a hand or share his wisdom. A lover of the outdoors, he found a unique way to combine his passion for fishing with his resourceful nature by crafting his own sinkers for his fishing line. Forever cherishing their memories of Sheri’s ornery nature are her sister, Candi Nice; two nieces: Patricia Carpenter and husband, Herschel Riffle, and Kristina Smith and husband, Robert; several great nieces and nephews; and companion, Brad Lincicome.
Sheri was a beloved sister, and aunt. Celebrated for her spirit, Sheri lived a life full of passion and selflessness. She was a proud 1979 graduate of Ashland High School. Following her graduation, she dedicated 26 years of her life to Dale Roy School for Handicap in Ashland, Ohio, where she worked as a Teacher's Assistant. Sheri's career allowed her to touch the lives of countless individuals, offering support, love, and guidance to those who needed it most. She was passionately engaged in the world around her, often found decorating, crafting, and watching her favorite television shows like Law & Order and Chicago PD. Sheri also loved to engage in friendly competition through various game shows on TV.

Danny is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Susan “Sue” Jeanne Mulligan Lewis of Buckhannon; three daughters: Wendy (Wright) Bowen of Fairmont, Jamie (Craig) Owens of Morgantown, and Amanda (Adam) Newman of Lost Creek; mother, Mary Lewis of Morgantown; brother, John Lewis of Morgantown; and ten beloved grandchildren.
Danny was preceded in death by his father and his brother David Lewis.
Danny attended Morgantown High School and worked in the coal mines for over 20 years. He enjoyed working on cars, home improvement projects, spending time with his family, and spoiling his dogs, Luna and Lyra.
The family would like to express their gratitude to West Virginia Hospice for their kindness and excellent care.

She was born in Paris, IL, on December 17, 1935, a daughter of the late Carroll D. Lawson and Mary Elizabeth Weger Lawson.
In addition to her parents, Fran was preceded in death by her companion of more than sixteen years, Stephen Tinelli, who passed in November of 2022. Fran is also preceded death by two brothers: Andy Lawson and Bill Lawson; and one sister, Rachel Smith.
Forever cherishing their memories of Fran are five children: Cynthia Fleenor and husband, James, of Blountville, TN, Scott Link and wife, Kelly, of Fairmont, WV, Annie Alborano and husband, Mike, of Georgia, Gus Link and wife, Judy, of Califon, NJ, and Ben Link and wife, Lisa, of Bluffton, SC; thirteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two sisters: Nancy Dean of Danville, IL, and Jane Summers and husband, Joe, of Covington, IN; and many nieces and nephews.
Fran graduated from Perryville High School in 1953. Her passion for education led her to pursue a Master's Degree in Education from West Virginia University which she received in 1985. She spent many rewarding years as a Special Education Teacher in the Lewis County school system, touching the lives of many children with her genuine care and commitment. Fran was an avid runner, often winning awards in her age group for her speed and endurance. She was an accomplished athlete, a dedicated educator, and most importantly, a sweet and loving mother and grandmother. Her memory lives on in the hearts of her family and the many students whose lives she touched. As Maya Angelou said, "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." Fran will be remembered for the love and warmth she brought into the lives of those around her.

Ludmila Komeck Sabatiuk - August 23, 1928 - December 19, 2023

Obituary Preview: Ludmila Komeck Sabatiuk, 95, passed away in Elkins, West Virginia, on Tuesday, December 19, 2023.
Ludmila, known to family and friends as "Em", was born on a farm in Montville, Connecticut on August 23, 1928, the youngest of five children. She attended a two-room elementary school from first through eighth grade. She often said that her family survived the Great Depression only because they had a farm and were able to produce enough food to feed the family. Em learned to value family and hard work early on. She lived her life accordingly. Her passion was education, for herself and for others. She went to high school at Norwich Free Academy where she earned a scholarship to Connecticut College. This began her relentless pursuit of higher education that included a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Central Connecticut State College, a Masters in Remedial Reading from Columbia University, and a Masters in Library Science from Rutgers University. She enjoyed a lengthy career as a public-school teacher and librarian, treasuring the kids she taught and her co-workers, many of whom became lifelong friends.
Em met Andrew Sabatiuk when he came to her family’s farm to borrow a cabbage shredder. They were happily married for 54 years and raised three children. They loved to throw the kids in the back of the station wagon and take road trips to visit family, or to national parks, the western U.S., Florida, and many other destinations. They would get together with Em’s sisters and brother and their families for every major holiday, no matter the distance. Andy was an aeronautical engineer whose specialization in jet engine development required multiple family moves over the years, including Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Ohio. In each location, Em adjusted her career, made sure her kids went to good schools, and forged close friendships. After a move to New Jersey when the kids were pre-school age, Em was unable to find day care. She started a day care in her home with the help of a few friends. This grew until it moved into a separate dedicated facility with a teacher. She also tutored children in reading at her home.
Retirement initially took Em and Andy to Miami Beach, but Em found it was too far from the kids and grandkids, so they moved back up north to Maryland. Andy died in 2002, so Em moved in with daughter Kappy and her husband Bruce, first in Maryland, then Rock Cave, West Virginia. In both locations, Kappy and Bruce generously constructed a small house for Em adjoining their main house. Em also spent numerous winters in St. Augustine, Florida near her daughter Lynne and husband Rob. In 2021, Em moved to Mountain Memories, a retirement home in Elkins, West Virginia.
Em lived a happy, full life. She took great joy in spending time with her grandchildren as they grew up, and more recently her great grandchildren. She loved travel, reading, movies, opera, politics, birdwatching, and visiting with friends and family. She was a generous donor to many causes, and a longtime member of the Ethical Culture Society.

On July 26, 1990, Richard married Lillie Mae Brown Hinkle. Together they shared over 33 years of marriage.
Forever cherishing their memories of Richards’s outgoing nature with his wife are two children: Richard Douglas Moore and wife, Jackie, of French Creek and Rhonda Moore and husband, Jeff Everett, of Bruceton Mills; four step-children: Karla Mealey of Weston, Amy Buchanan and husband, Mark, of Barboursville, Kevin Hinkle and wife, Melissa, of Buckhannon, and Jerry Hinkle and wife, Mary, of Allen, TX; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters: Joan Blodgett and husband, Allen, of Polk, OH, and Cathy Kalbani and husband, Abedallah, of Virginia; one brother, Garry Moore and wife, Laura, of Lorain, OH; and several nieces and nephews.
Richard was Christian by faith. He attended Firelands High School in Oberlin, OH. In his early years, Richard worked for the WV Division of Highways, then spent several years in the Oil and Gas field at Union Drilling, and finally did several stints with the Upshur County Sheriff’s Department as a Deputy and Bailiff. He was also a member of the Upshur County Sheriff’s Association. Richard loved his basset hound, Happie, and his cat, Daisl. In his free time, you might find Richard tinkering on old cars or working in his garden out by the house.

Born on May 4, 1939, in Buckhannon, Betty's life was characterized by service, intellectual curiosity, and a deep love for her family. A graduate of Buckhannon-Upshur High School in 1956, she went on to complete her undergraduate degree at Augusta College in Augusta, GA, and her master's degree at Washington University in St. Louis. In the words of Albert Einstein, "Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile," and Betty lived this truth as Director of Social Services at Northcrest Medical Center in Springfield, Tennessee.
A lover of rock & roll, cross stitching, and computer-based stationery, Betty was a woman of many passions. She had a unique talent for word games and card games, and a special place in her heart for animals, especially cats. Betty was a stickler for proper grammar, a trait that reflected her love for learning and her passion for education. In addition to her professional accomplishments, she carried a large heart for the underprivileged and older people, and she was known for her gregarious nature. As Maya Angelou once said, "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel," and Betty made everyone feel loved and valued.
Forever cherishing their memories of Betty are her three children: Roberta Campbell and husband, John, of Corinth, MS, Nancy Gardner and husband, Randy, of Franklin, TN, and Susan Kiefer and companion, J. Everett was born in Kanawha Head on January 3, 1931, a son of the late Isreal Wyatt and Melinda Lear Riley Wyatt. In addition to his parents, Everett was preceded in death by nine siblings: Claudie Wyatt, Robert Wyatt, Violet Staley, Letta Riley, Jean Mullens, Willis “Boss” Wyatt, Delores Riddle, George Wyatt, and Delmas Wyatt.
Forever cherishing their memories of Everett are one special niece, Virginia Ables and husband, Roger, of Crawford; and several additional nieces and nephews.
Everett spent over 40 years tending a farm in Lewis County. He ran cattle, gardened, cut hay, and various other caretaker duties. He was Christian by faith and committed his soul to the Lord. Whether he was hunting, fishing, or watching the birds, Everett was most at peace in the outdoors. He had a happy soul and it was a rare occasion for anything to bring his spirit down. Everett will be missed dearly.

On April 10, 1964, Richard married Zelma Joyce Tenney. They spent the next 59 years raising their family together.
Forever cherishing their memories of Richard with his wife, Zelma, are two children: Carla Hinchman and husband, John, and Richard Nelson Page II and wife, Sherri, all of Buckhannon; four grandchildren: Holly, Shane, Nick and wife, Sam, and Paisley; four grandchildren-of-the-heart: Shanna, Alicia, Anna, and Travis; five great-grandchildren: Lucas, Emmett, Jaxon, Noah, and Theo; two siblings: Gloria Helmick and Melvin Page and wife, Amanda; and several nieces and nephews.
Richard is a graduate of Buckhannon-Upshur High School class of 1960. After high school, he joined the United States Navy, where he retired as Chief Petty Officer after twenty years of service. Richard worked for Cohart’s for 32 years. He was a member of the Upshur County Shrine Franklin Lodge #7, the French Creek DAV #36, and the Buckhannon American Legion Post #7. Richard enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family.

A graduate of Webster High School, Betty lived a full life in various places like Indian Camp and French Creek. She was a homemaker by choice, a role she embraced with the utmost dedication and love.
Betty was a woman of faith, as a member of Light Chapel Church and previously Kanawha Run Church. Her home was a reflection of her faith, decorated with praying hands and other spiritual items. Betty cherished her faith; it was a cornerstone of her life. As stated in Proverbs 31:25-26, "Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she laughs at the time to come. She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue." Betty embodied these words, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and unwavering faith.
A lover of nature, Betty enjoyed fishing and camping with her late husband, Clee, "anywhere off the path and down by the river" in Wild and Wonderful West Virginia. She took pleasure in embroidery and quilting, canning fresh vegetables from her garden, and tending to her flowers. Betty found joy in socializing at family reunions and community cake walks. She leaves behind her sister, Shirley Wyatt of Wooster, OH; twelve nieces and nephews who loved her dearly: Doug Wyatt and wife, Lisa, Cheryl Franks and husband, Dennis, Scott Wyatt, Roberta "Bobbi Jo" Bradshaw, Nancy Kaufman and husband, Jeff, Cathy Sandberg and husband, Hugo, Duane Lee and wife, Connie, Stanley Lee, Christine Lee and companion, Joe Vecsey, Karen Foerstner, Eileen Anderson, and Kevin Anderson. Betty is preceded in death by her parents: Lanty L. and Madeline Christine Dietsch Lee; husband, Clee Wayts; two brothers: Charles and Hubert Lee; one sister, Marjorie Anderson; and two nephews: Roger Anderson and Ken Anderson.
