He was a 1985 graduate of Avery High School and a member of Avery Lodge #921 AF&AM. Lynn was employed with Ward Timber Company, loved fishing, cooking and was a great craftsman. He loved his family and was a member of the Gravel Hill Baptist Church. His parents preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Sheri Holomon of Maud; daughter, Lyndsi Lambert of Maud; brother, Larry Lambert and wife, Angie of Idabel; 2 nieces, Leanne Robnett and husband, Justin and Lacie Nesbitt and husband, Drew; mother-in-law, Nona Stevens of Maud; Uncle and Aunts, Sammy and Mary Lambert of Avery and Deanie and Shirlee Lambert of Avery; special cousin, Jason Lambert; 4 bonus daughters, Hayley, Heather, Reagan and Brittney and numerous other family and friends.
Funeral and Masonic services are set for 11:00 AM, Friday, April 29, 2022, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. Deanie Lambert and Avery Lodge #921 officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Springs Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Justin Robnett, Eric Jones, Terry Boddie, Justin Dumont, Donald Kernodle, Charles McCoy, Jason Lambert and Ronnie “Doc” Holloway.
Honorary Pallbearers are Pat Coughran, Brian Beers, Clint Jackson and Joe Hutto.
The family will receive friends Thursday night from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Clarksville Funeral Home.

Donnie Whiteman - February 15, 1932 - April 23, 2022

Obituary Preview: Donnie Lee Buzbee Whiteman, age 90, of Clarksville, passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at her residence.
Graveside services are scheduled for Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at Whiteman’s Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 10:30 A.M. with services at 11:00 A.M. with Rick Olmsted officiating.
Donnie was born in Bagwell on February 15, 1932 to Samuel M. and Anna Carroll Buzbee. She began her education in Bagwell and graduated from Clarksville High School in 1950. Donnie was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ.
She married W.D. (Bill) Whiteman in September 1950. She would remain his wife until death in 2020. Together they raised six children.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, David, Euel, Ronald and Donald Buzbee; two sisters; Burnett Buzbee and Sybil Coffman; and a son-in-law, Don Wade Brown.
Survivors include her sons, William (Bill) Whiteman, Jr. and wife, Janell of Greenville and Donald Wayne Whiteman of Clarksville; her daughters, Martha Jean Whiteman and husband, Tony Moore of Texarkana, Donna Olmsted and husband, Rick of Flower Mound, Debbie Roraback and husband, Forrest of Clarksville and Brenda Booth and husband, Steve of Clarksville, 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 2 nieces.
The past ten years, Donnie had a special family of caregivers who allowed her to stay at her home and enjoy the final years of her life. Her family would like to thank all the therapists, nurses and nurse aids from her home health services for their extra special care and encouragement. Also thanks to the precious ladies who “moved in” and became part of Donnie’s family.

Obituary Preview: John Brandon Hayes, age 43, of Fort Worth, Texas (most recently Paris, Texas), passed away peacefully on Friday, April 15, 2022. John (known as Brandon to all his family and friends), was born on October 21, 1978 in Fort Worth, Texas.
Brandon graduated from high school at Christian Fellowship Academy in Paris, Texas where he excelled at athletics, including karate and football. Following high school, he served in the United States Marine Corp. Following his service to his country, he married Alicia Reves, and had his daughters Sadie and Teja Hayes, whom he has always adored. Even following his divorce from Alisha, Brandon remained close to his daughters. Most recently, Brandon worked at Huhtamaki in Paris, Texas for over 17 years.
Brandon had a number of interests, including bowling with his fiancée Nikki McPherson and playing video games with friends and his brother Cliff Hayes. His relationship with Cliff was very close, though the two could be caught play-wrestling anytime the two were together.
Brandon loved spending time with family, friends, and his grandchildren. He came to know Jesus Christ as his savior at an early age, and we know those in Christ will see him again one day in Heaven.
Brandon is survived by his daughters Sadie and Teja Hayes, grandchildren Brynlee Whitworth, Luca and Arya Garcia of Paris, Texas, parents Donna and Will Kirby of Fort Worth, Texas; his brother Cliff Hayes of Fort Worth, Texas; Kenneth Adams of Detroit, Texas, as well as many other close, loving family members, and friends.
Brandon was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jessie and Imogene Walker, and great-grandmother Dutch V. Simmons. Vernon, Texas on January 20, 1977, to Barbara Ann Harper and Charles Dale Harper.  She married her husband, Justin Holley, on March 31, 2006, in Tarrant County.  They were married for 16 years leaving behind many beautiful memories together.
She graduated from Paris Jr. College in May of 2005 as a Registered Nurse.  She worked orthopedic and oncology units throughout her career creating the best environment for her fellow employees and patients.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Barbara Ann Harper and Charles Dale Harper, her father-in-law John Holley.
She is survived by her husband Justin Holley; her mother-in-law Jessie Holley; her sisters-in-law Jennifer Nienke and Shannon Ogden; her sister Annette Harper Ince and her brother-in-law Jeffery Ince; her aunts Shirley Miller, Janet Sipes, and Donna Wilson and her uncle Howard Harper.
We would like to send a special thanks to all the medical professionals and staff that help made her as comfortable as possible.
We will have a gathering to celebrate her life at a later date.

Preceding her in death are her parents and her brother-in-law, Tommy Baker.

Obituary Preview: Henry “Dan” Denton of Clarksville Texas passed away at the age of 90 on Monday April 4, 2022. Dan was born in San Antonio, TX on June 27, 1931 to Alvira Schwarz and was later adopted by Worley B. Denton.
Dan served honorably in The U.S. Army, The Texas National Guard, and The Reserves. For a number of years he was employed as superintendent for a company that imploded buildings. One such building in Denver, Colorado was made into a movie.
Dan met and married Neva Frances Dixon on July 3, 1980 and later moved to Clarksville, Texas in 1992. For over ten years he was a supervisor for the City of Clarksville. Dan was also a member of the Clarksville First Baptist Church.
Affectionately known as “GranDan” by his step-grandchildren, he enjoyed writing song lyrics, maintaining his yard, and shopping for collectibles with Frances.
Dan was preceded in death by his loving wife, Frances Denton, and two half-brothers, Ralph and Paul Conn. Surviving Dan are two daughters Brenda Sue Goodenough and husband Tim, of Benbrook, Texas; Jean Marie and husband Will Bond of Alvarado, Texas, two sons: Tony and Pam Denton of Granbury; and Eddie and Angi Denton of Ft. Worth, Texas. He is also survived by his stepson, Dr. Thomas R. Dixon and wife, Lelia, as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren.
GranDan will be missed.

Alma Stansbury - October 10, 1940 - March 27, 2022

Obituary Preview: It is with deep sadness that we announce the loss of our beloved Alma Elfriede Stansbury March 27, 2022, at the age of 81. She was born in Dachau, Germany and came to Clarksville, to raise her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Alma worked at Phillips Industry until she retired from there.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Anita Stansbury. She is survived by her daughter Brenda Brannon married to Wayne  Brannon of Abilene, granddaughter Starla Stinson of Clarksville, grandson Sean Freeman of Abilene, granddaughter, Lindsey Mitchell married to Garrett Mitchell of Abilene and numerous great grandchildren that loved her very much.
Alma was a very loving and caring person that put everyone before herself. She was loved by her family and everyone she met. Alma's hobbies were walking the neighborhood, reading romance novels, and working in her yard. She will be missed by many.

Gaines Hamilton McCulloch - November 10, 1926 - March 24, 2022

Obituary Preview: Gaines McCulloch was born in Clarksville on November 10, 1926 and died on March 24, 2022. He was the son of Nathaniel and Kate Green McCulloch. Mr. McCulloch grew up in Clarksville and served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He attended the University of Texas in Arlington and worked for the Continental Oil Company and also the U.S. Postal Service in Clarksville. Mr. McCulloch later retired to his beloved home and property in the Hopewell Community of Red River County, where he and his wife, Evelyn lived out their lives. He loved caring for his flower and vegetable gardens the bounty of which he and Evelyn truly enjoyed sharing with his wonderful friends and neighbors. All who knew Gaines were blessed with his lifetime loyalty. He was a natural storyteller and could bring joy and laughter to anyone’s day easily. Gaines will be greatly missed. He is preceded in death by his devoted wife of 67 years, Dr. Evelyn Hall McCulloch; 1 son, Dr. Edward G. McCulloch; and 2 sister’s, Ann and Natalie.
Gaines leaves behind 1 daughter, Joanna McCulloch Dewey and husband, John; 1 granddaughter, Leah McCulloch Griffin and husband, Josh; and their 2 daughters, Aiden and Easten all of Meadow Lakes; and 1 grandson, Paul McCulloch of Lake Charles, Louisiana.
Private Memorial services will be held at a later date. Cremation is under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.

Virginia was born May 28, 1946, in Karluk, Alaska, she was Alaskan Native and English. She graduated from Kodiak High in 1964. She moved to Seattle, Washington living as a nanny while attending secretarial school. After completing her courses she returned to Kodiak, Alaska. She met her husband Walt Wentland and they were married December 1968. They had two daughters, Ginnelle and Dawn. The family moved to Washington State. Virginia’s passion was gardening. She completed a master Gardener program at the University of Washington. She put her skills to use creating large, bountiful gardens every year. She shared her joy of gardening with many friends. After her husband Walt passed, Virginia went back to school and completed an associates degree. She began a career in bookkeeping. She had many friends and with her ever present smile made more friends along her travels. She visited 20 plus countries, photographing the wonders she found, always sending postcards from far away to her grandchildren. She moved to Texas near her daughter Ginnelle and enjoyed being near her grandchildren. She was loved and will always be missed by her family. Virginia was preceded in death by her father and mother, Dal and Anne Valley; her husband, Walt Wentland, her sisters, Tessie Keaveny and May Halmsteiner and her brother, Perry Valley.

Funeral services are set for 11:00 AM, Tuesday, March 22, 2022, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Jamison Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends Monday night from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Clarksville Funeral Home.

She married Danny Wester on June 29, 1968, just 6 months after a blind date set up by Donny Parish. They moved to Bulverde, Texas where she spent her days painting, laughing, and loving. She was a stay at home mother to their 3 children, Dana Higginbotham, Kristi Wester Courtney (Donald Courtney), Jeff Wester (Rachael Wester). She is also survived by her brother, Richard Reed (Shirley Reed) 9 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. They later moved to Avery, Texas in 1995. She continued her passion of art, running a small business with her friend and sister-in-law Sandy Wester, making Santa Clauses. They were loved by everyone in the community. This is where she spent the rest of her life, enjoying hosting, cooking, and family visits. Betty was Baptized at the Meneely Memorial Presbyterian Church. Betty was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Jimmy Reed. Betty Wester was an amazing woman, she cared deeply about all of the people in her life. She will be greatly missed by everyone who had the opportunity to meet her. We are thankful she is no longer in pain.
Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday, April 2, 2022, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home. Richard W. Reed will officiate.

Gerald was a 1965 graduate of Clarksville High School and attended East Texas State University.
He was self-employed, having many successful businesses in his lifetime. These included Food Basket, Reed’s Stop and Go, East Main Auto Sales, Reed’s Pawn Shop and Reed’s Tax Service. In later years, he owned and operated a firework stand during his summers and started Reed’s Bail Bonds. He was a highly regarded and well-respected member of the community. Gerald or known to his grandchildren as “G”, exemplified the meaning of faith, love, and family. To know him was to love him. He brought joy and laughter wherever he went and lit up any room with his million-dollar smile. Gerald married Mickey Morgan on August 30, 2004. Preceding him in death are his parents Vernon and Beatrice Reed, his sister Mildred Joyner, and his brother Wayne Reed.
He is survived by his wife Mickey Reed, his daughters Raechel Jackson and husband Jay of Frisco, Deanna Wood and husband Cory of Paris, step-son Jason Burress and wife Christina of McKinney, step-daughter Letta Burger and husband Adam of Roanoke; 1 brother, Jimmy Reed of Clarksville; grandchildren, Reed, Gabbi, Rhett, and Grier; step-grandchildren Kate, Klaire, Kason, Luke, Morgan, and Emerson; as well as many nieces and nephews.
