A Chapel Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, March 10, 2024 at the Charles E. Huff's International Funeral Home, Inc. Interment will be held in Preston City Cemetery, Preston, GA. Viewing will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024 from 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM at the funeral home located at 927-5th Avenue, Columbus.
Mrs. Stephanie Janette McNeal Dean, daughter of the late Mr. Donohue McNeal and Betty Hall McNeal, was born on July 27, 1970, in Columbus, Georgia.  Stephanie attended Our Lady Lourdes Catholic School, Faith Middle School (Ft. Benning, GA), and was a 1989 graduate of Spencer High School. After graduation, Stephanie joined her family in North Carolina where she studied and received her cosmetologist license from Sherrill’s Cosmetology Beauty School. Stephanie was a talented cosmetologist as well as a great chef (learning at the age of five to prepare her first grilled cheese sandwich) and a trendy fashionista. Many loved that ‘our’ Stephanie was such a beautiful, kind, dependable and faithful friend. She was always willing to help others in any way that she could. Recognizing her creative skills and love for people, Stephanie decided to be proactive and work two jobs. She worked in supervisory positions at Catherine’s and alongside her sister at McDonald’s. One of her loyal McDonald’s customers invited her to join MCSD. She was excited to begin working at Shaw High School with holidays and summer months off!
Stephanie’s prayers of matrimony were answered when Kenneth Lynn Dean asked her to marry him. They were wed on July 26, 2012. With bountiful praise and thankfulness, Mr. and Mrs. Dean celebrated eleven years of wedding bliss in 2023. Stephanie and Kenny loved planning their ‘date nights.’ Kenny adored showering Stephanie with loving gestures for she was a wonderful wife and his “Sweet Angel”.
Her compassion for others transcended ethnicity, religion, gender, or age. She spoke and acted from a position of humbleness, from the pure goodness of her heart and soul, she served others and looked for nothing in return…that was ‘our’ Stephanie. With her beautiful smile, including that tooth “gap” just like her dad’s, Stephanie’s pleasant personality was contagious to everyone she met. Stephanie has left many meaningful and happy memories for those who knew and loved her that will last their lifetimes. Stephanie will be sorely missed and forever remembered as a loving sister, an aunt, a niece, and a friend to many.
Stephanie earned her heavenly wings on the morning of February 29, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and maternal uncle.
