Karen grew up west of Elgin and attended St. Boniface Grade School. She was a 1978 graduate of Elgin Pope John XXIII High School and a 1996 graduate of Southeast Community College. Karen worked as a Radiologic Technologist and Medical Assistant in Lincoln, NE, for many years.
She was the love of Mark Christman; much loved mother of two daughters, Sarah Greitens and Evie Ramirez (George); stepmother of Nicholas Christman (Lora), Michael Christman (Camiel), and Travis Christman (Dray); adoring grandmother of Searah Greitens, Katriese Greitens, and George Ramirez, Myleigh Bowen-Cleary, Ryder Christman, Noah Christman, Sydney Christman, Sylvie Christman; and dear sister of Robert Moser (Linda), Phyllis Byrd (late John), Douglas Moser (Michele), Mark Moser, Jeffery Moser (Sandi), and Craig Moser (Denise). She is also remembered by her many nieces and nephews.
Karen is preceded in death by her loving father; younger sister, Judith Moser; and beloved pet, Thunder.

He worked for the railroad for 30 plus years before retiring. He spent the last 6 years with his wife Tanya on a farm in Neola. Chuck was a man of many trades. He could build and fix just about anything. If he did not know how, he would learn to. He loved his family and would lend a helping hand where he could.
He was preceded in death by his father, his maternal grandparents Dwight and Minnie Miller, his Aunt Shirley, Uncle Dwight, and Cousin Dwight.
He is survived by his mother, Carol Pruett. His wife of 13 years, Tanya Miller. Brenda Williams (Dean) of Missouri Valley. Julie Roberts and Laura Hays of Council Bluffs. His stepdaughters Autumn Henderson of Council Bluffs, Ryanne Chenoweth of Persia, and his son Payten Miller of Neola. Many brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, and 13 grandchildren.

She was the daughter of Richard and Marcelline Lovell (deceased) of Hastings, Nebraska. She was born in Falls City, Nebraska and later moved with her family to Hastings, Nebraska where she graduated from Hastings High School in the Class of 1958. Sharon became an insurance agent, working first for Daly Realty and later Stephens-Ryder-Wenger Insurance Company of Grand Island, Nebraska before moving to Kansas City, Missouri where she worked for ARDI Insurance until her retirement in 2006.
After her retirement, she moved to Omaha, Nebraska to be closer to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed many pursuits in retirement, including especially researching her family history and genealogy, buying and selling antiques and collectibles, reading, connecting with friends and family on Facebook, and electronic gaming. Sharon was also a life-long lover of animals who seldomly lived without at least one companion animal. At the time of her death, she was caring for two rescued cats and actively searching for her next canine rescue.
She is survived by her brother Thomas Lovell of Hastings, Nebraska; son Michael and wife Courtney Gergen of Omaha, Nebraska; daughter Kendra (Gergen) Fitzgerald of Omaha, Nebraska; daughter Kerry Gergen and husband Bill Howze of Reading, Pennsylvania; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren, all of Omaha, Nebraska.

Thomas (Tom) was born in Council Bluffs, IA, on February 16, 1943 to the late Max and Alice (Divelbess) Moorman.
Tom worked as a car and school bus mechanic and supervisor for nearly 35 years in the Missouri Valley, IA area. During that time, he was on the Missouri Valley Fire Department where he was Fire Chief for several years. In 1996, he began work with the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Omaha, NE. After retiring in 2005, he and his wife Sharon, moved to Mountain Home, AR. He was a driver for Kindness, Inc transporting elderly to doctor’s visits, etc. He enjoyed their acreage, riding his John Deere Tractor, playing with his little dog, Speck, appreciating music and beauty of the area.
Tom is preceded in death by his parents, Max and Alice Moorman.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon (Hirst) Moorman; children, Kathyrn (Kevin) Moorman Dinkel, Steven Patrick Moorman (special friend Kelly Harness), Gayle (Martin) Moorman Erickson, Dean Anthony Moorman; sister, Barbara (Marshall) Cooper; 11 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

Obituary Preview: Jill Elaine Eloge Christiansen, 77, passed away June 11, 2020, in Gretna, Nebraska. She was born on October 27, 1942, to Lester and Ruth (Bird) Eloge. She grew up in Nebraska City, Nebraska, and graduated from Nebraska City High School in 1961. After high school, she attended The Methodist Hospital and Medical Center School of Nursing in St. Joseph, Missouri, graduating in August of 1964. In October of 1964, she was united in marriage to Arnold J. Christiansen, and together they raised three children, Christopher, Nikole, and Matthew.
Jill was a loving, adoring mother and she cared dearly for her family, her children, and grandchildren. She loved her home, sharing ice cream with her grandchildren, crocheting, gardening, and landscaping. Jill was a woman of great faith and she enjoyed being a part of her ministry. She was an active member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Nebraska City, Nebraska. She enjoyed a long successful career as a Registered Nurse and was among the best in her profession. Jill worked in several areas of health care including clinical instruction for student nurses, surgery, emergency, hospital floor nurse, charge nurse, hospice nurse, geriatrics, and Director of Nursing. Jill was a well-respected, compassionate nurse and was admired by her colleagues, coworkers, staff, her students, and her patients. In 2005, she retired from her role as Director of Nursing from Duff’s Friendship Villa in Nebraska City, Nebraska after many years of employment.
Jill was preceded in death by her father, Lester Eloge, her mother, Ruth (Bird) Eloge Eslava, her stepfather, Lowell Eslava, and her sister Judy (Eloge) Marion. She is survived by her sisters Jacqueline (Eloge) Tanner, Jayne (Eloge) Swearengin, Julie (Eloge) West and husband Mark West, and her brother, Rick Eloge.
Jill is also survived by her husband of fifty-six years, Arnold J. Christiansen; her son Chris Christiansen and daughter-in-law Debra (Ferrin) Christiansen, grandsons Brandon Christiansen, Derrick Georges, and Lance Christiansen, granddaughters Natalie Christiansen and Halle Christiansen; her daughter Nikole (Christiansen) Benedict, and son-in-law James Benedict, grandsons Ethan Benedict and Dustin Benedict, granddaughter Haley Benedict and Haley’s fiance Nick Rockwell, granddaughter Delainey Benedict; her son Matthew Christiansen and daughter-in-law Kelli (Steedly) Christiansen, grandsons Tristan Kriefels, Bowen Christiansen and Colston Christiansen. Jill is loved and adored by her family and all that knew her. She will always be loved and she will forever be missed.

She had an uncanny ability to make people feel special and unconditionally loved. She always welcomed those with nowhere else to go into her home showing her love for the underdog.
For many years she cleaned gutters for a living. Her customers wouldn’t let anyone else do the job always remaining loyal to her. She was an interpreter for the Deaf in the Douglas and Pottawattamie County courthouse. She had a love for fast cars, animals and above all else her children and grandchildren. She was an avid reader and loved watching Judge Judy in her spare time. She lived in the Bemis Park area for over 35 years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Edward Murphy and Mary A Murphy; brother, Mike Murphy; great grandson, Gunner Nielson.
Mary Sharon left behind a large and adoring family. She is survived by, five children (and their respective partners), John Moffatt (Regan), Anne Moffatt (David), Roger Coleman Nielson (Renee), Roland Nielson and Andrea Moffatt; ten grandchildren (and their respective partners), Jacob Moffatt, Ally Moffatt, Christopher Nielson(Jasmine), Madeline Nielson, Arianna Nielson, Kingston Nielson, Ranger Nielson, Julian Nielson, Augustus Nielson and Logan Nielson; three great-grandchildren, Alexander Nielson, Damien Nielson and Zoe, two sisters, Patricia Murphy and Jeannie Mathews; Aunt, Laurie Root in Pasadena CA and many nieces and nephews and extended family members.
Her sweet, generous, and kind soul and will be terribly missed.
There will be a graveside service at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, May 18th, 2020 at Calvary Cemetery (7710 W. Center Rd). Following the graveside service the family will be hosting a Celebration of Life at the home of Anne Moffatt’s (5804 Leavenworth St., Omaha NE 68106).

Obituary Preview: Marcia (Zurovski) Lee Schutz, age 73, of Plattsmouth, NE, passed away peacefully with her family at her side Friday afternoon, May 8, 2020, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
Funeral service and Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 14th, 2020, at the Church of the Holy Spirit in Plattsmouth, NE with Rev. Michael Houlihan officiating. Burial and a celebration of life will follow at a later date.
Marcia was born on April 20, 1947, in St. Edward, NE, daughter of the late Leo and Clara Zurovski. She was a person of strong faith, a member of the Church of the Holy Spirit, dedicated to her family, an educator, and a talented artist. Marcia attended Albion Public School, graduating in the class of 1965. She went on to attend Wayne State College, graduating with a teaching degree, then Doane College for curriculum and instruction, graduating with a Masters Degree. Marcia taught ceramics, art and silversmithing at South High School in Omaha, NE, before teaching at Elmwood-Murdock in Cass County, and later returning to teach again at South High School. She used her teaching skills and passion for the arts as a medium to nurture the development of her students and others around her. In addition to her teaching career, she exhibited her own creative art at many shows with her sister Marilyn. She also loved to ride her Harley Davidson motorcycle across the Western States.
Marcia married James Schutz on June 20, 1973, at the Albion Catholic Church, settling on their farm south of Plattsmouth, NE in 1974. Marcia is survived by her husband of 47 years, James Schutz; sons, Jeremiah (Jayme) Schutz of Elmwood, NE and Josh (Jena) Schutz of Navarre, FL; daughter, Jessica (Marty) Bell of Fort Collins, CO; grandchildren, Emmett, Ellie, August, Hudson, and Caleb Schutz; step-grandchildren, Olivia and Connor Bell; brothers Dave and Jerry (Melanie) Zurovski; and sisters Marlene Zurovski and Marilyn (Ron) Tenney; and many nieces and great nieces and nephews. Marcia was preceded in death by brother Ron Zurovski; and sister Joan Zurovski.

Virginia, known as Kay to her family and friends, was born October 3, 1940 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Arthur and Bernice (Forman) Neighbors. Along with her older brother, Dennis, the family moved to Grand Island, Nebraska when Kay was 9. It was in Grand Island that Kay met and married her husband of 41 years, Richard H. Poole. Kay and Richard moved to Council Bluffs in 1961. She worked as a certified nursing assistant at Council Bluffs Care Center in Council Bluffs and eventually worked for the Visiting Nurses Association (VNA). Kay retired from the VNA in 2007.
Kay was proceeded in death by her parents, brother, and husband. She is survived by daughters Theresa Slayman of Carter Lake, Iowa; Tracy Pitt of Council Bluffs, Iowa; and son Andrew (Robin) Poole of Carter Lake, Iowa. She also leaves behind 10 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. They will forever remember her love of sunflowers and holiday-themed jewelry.

An avid baseball fan and an excellent fielder in his own right, Harry never waned in his devotion for his beloved Cubs, even in their decades-long dry spell. He graduated high school in 1961 from Garnett, KS, following which he enlisted in the Army. After Honorable Discharge, Harry returned stateside from South Korea to Sterling, Kan., where he attended college and met his adoring wife of 50 years, Barbara L. Fink (ne Blackford).
Following undergrad, Harry enrolled at Eastern Theological Seminary in Philadelphia, where he trained for the ministry. Upon graduating with an M.Div, Harry began his 35 years of ministry at First Baptist Church, Omaha. He took a solo-pastorate position at First Baptist Church, Stilwell, Kan., in 1976, where he served for 7 years. In 1983, Harry moved to Meade, Kan., where he served the First Baptist Church until his retirement in 2008. He retired to Salina, Kan., where he and Barb lived for ten years before moving to Omaha. During the course of his long career Harry was honored with many awards and commendations for his dedicated service and commitment to others.
Harry is survived by: his wife, Barbara of Omaha; son, Kevin of Kansas City; daughter and son-in-law, Stacy and John Martin and granddaughters, Alesha and Naomi Martin all of Omaha; and many extended loving family members and friends. Harry was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings.
Services of celebration for Harrys life will be held at Omahas First Baptist Church, 421 Park Ave, at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, and at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, in Salina, Kan., at First Baptist Church, 843 Lewis Ave. All are welcome to attend.

Obituary Preview: Scott Jeffrey Kirchmann, 48, of Elkhorn, Nebraska went to heaven to be with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Sunday January 12, 2020 after a long fought battle with lung cancer. Scott was a husband, a doting parent, a tenacious coach, a dependable teacher and a pulsating friend. He was raised in Nebraska, proud of his Midwest lineage, and utterly devoted to Cornhusker football. He was born in Hastings, and graduated from Millard South High School in 1990. His passion for athletics and teaching spanned his entire life. Coach Kirchmann, as he was known to many, had a long and distinguished career in collegiate athletics spending over a decade as a head coach on the NCAA Division I level. His career began as a graduate assistant at Idaho State University in 1998 followed by two seasons at the University of Idaho as an assistant strength and conditioning coach. He took the reigns as the first full-time Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at Campbell University (Buies Creek, NC) in 2001. His career then took him to Belmont University (Nashville, TN) in 2005 before moving to the University of Montana in 2008. His final employment, and perhaps, most beloved, was being a physical education instructor at a small, rural school located in northwestern North Dakota, Powers Lake.
Kirchmann was recognized by his peers for excellence in coaching and was a finalist twice for the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) Collegiate Strength Coach of the Year in 2006 and 2011. He was a member of the NSCA since 1994 and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with distinction. He earned his Bachelors of Science in Sports and Leisure Management in 1994 from the University of Nebraska at Kearney; a 1999 graduate of Idaho State University with a Masters in Athletic Administration and a 2014 graduate of Black Hills State University with a Masters in Physical Education. Notably during his career, Kirchmann worked with 19 NCAA Division I sports teams. He helped both mens and womens basketball teams make eight straight NCAA Tournament appearances between 2006 - 2012. He was so proud to be part of the Belmont Mens Basketball team during their three-peat when matched up to UCLA (2006), Georgetown (2007) and Duke (2008) in the first round of the NCAA tournament. His love of March Madness was equally felt on selection Monday with the Belmont and Montana Womens Basketball teams. His wife and children joined him on team charters to first round tournament play for the Montana vs New Mexico game in San Jose, CA; Belmont Lady Bruins vs Georgia in Minneapolis, MN and the Montana Lady Griz vs. Penn. State in Spokane, WA; Montana vs. Duke basketball game in Durham, NC; Montana vs. Tennessee football game in Knoxville, TN along with attending hundreds of both home and away match-ups. Kirchmann loved, mentored, and influenced hundreds of student athletes throughout his career, and if he ran into a former student, he could still remember not just their name, but their number, position and a story about them in the weightroom, court, classroom and/or field. Scott was known as a friend to many and was always willing to lend a hand and offer advice and perspective that only he could. He loved all sports especially coaching his son and daughter's youth teams and was a particularly big Nebraska Husker fan. Scott is survived by his wife Gretchen, his son Paul, his daughter Allison, several friends and relatives, and hundreds of student athletes spanning a substantial portion of this country. All he ever wanted was to be loved for being who he wasa coach, a husband, a father, and a friend. We will miss you Scott!
