Mrs. Lambdin passed away on April 24, 2024, in Chandler.
Fairy Dell Lambdin was born in Edom, Texas, on April 29, 1932. She was the daughter of Manuel Humphrey and Flossie Jewell (Brown) Humphrey. Dell graduated from Port Neches High School in 1950 and later worked as an administrative assistant in the geology department of Lamar University. She also worked at Koppers Chemical in Port Arthur. In 2012, Dell retired from the Lindale Independent School District, where she had worked as an administrative assistant. Dell was a previous member of New Harmony Baptist Church in Tyler and a current member of West End Baptist Church in Beaumont. She enjoyed playing Mahjong and going on trips with her church group. Dell was a kind and meticulous person who loved her family and made a lasting impact on everyone she met. She had three dogs, Wally, Fritz, and Hans, whom she adored. Dell will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Coye “JC” Lambdin; her brother, John “Bud” Humphrey; her sister and brother-in-law, Lillie and Earl Duhon; and her sister-in-law, Winell Tate.
Survivors include her sister, Sue Salles and husband Big Jim of Athens; her step-daughter, Tammy Riddle and husband Frank of Memphis, Tennessee; her sisters-in-law, Imogene Boyd of Chandler and Barbara Humphrey of Groves; her brother-in-law, Kenneth Lambdin of Houston; and a host of nieces, nephews, and a large extended family.
Serving as pallbearers will be John T. Salles, Jesse Salles, Jay Humphrey, Joe Duhon, Jeff Humphrey, Ricky Boyd, Rodney Boyd, Jackson Burris and Wesley “Bubba” Price.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024, from 1-2:00 p.m. at Chandler Memorial Funeral Home prior to the service.

William James Emerick - September 09, 1942 - April 24, 2024

Obituary Preview: Graveside services for Bill Emerick, 81, of Athens, have been scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 29, 2024, at Rose Lawn Memorial Park in Tyler. Following the graveside service, a memorial service is planned for 2:00 p.m. at Carroll Springs Community Church of Athens. The services will be officiated by Pastor Mike Johnston under the direction of Chandler Memorial Funeral Home.
Mr. Emerick passed away on April 24, 2024, in Tyler.
William James Emerick was born in Gregg County, Texas, on September 9, 1942. He was the son of James Johnson Shirley and Dorothy Lee (Lewis) Carrington. After graduating from John Tyler High School in 1960, he served in the United States Army. Following his service, Bill spent over 30 years working as an insurance salesman in the east Texas area before retiring. He was a member of the Carroll Springs Community Church in Athens and enjoyed spending time outdoors, tinkering, riding his tractor, going to garage sales, and working on his cars. Bill was a true gentleman with a charming southern draw. He was known for his sense of humor, kindness, and unwavering Christian faith. Above all, he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
He was preceded in death by father and stepmother, James Johnson Shirley and Etta Mae Shirley; his mother and stepfather, Dorothy Lee Emerick-Carrington and JB Emerick; his stepmother, Etta Mae Shirley; his wife, Sue Ann Emerick; and his son, Jay Christopher Emerick.
Survivors include his wife, Charlene Emerick of Athens; his children, Nanette Beard of Tyler, Craig Emerick of Eustace, and Aimee Emerick of Fort Worth; his stepchildren, John Bailey of Palestine, Dale Bailey and wife Darlene of Frankston, and Deborah Hawkins of Athens; his stepsister, Jeanette Humphrey of Longview; his grandchildren, Brian Emerick, Brandon Emerick, Caden Keeling, Zander Keeling, and Hadley Keeling; along with numerous other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Kenneth Lookabaugh, Tommy Adams, Joe Dixon, Jason Cannon, Mike Wharton, and Charles Cranfill. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Butler, Jim Sherdon, and John Hall.

Shelby Jean (VanPelt) Wolford was born on September 17, 1953, in Keyser, West Virginia. She was the daughter of Theodore Brondell VanPelt and Dorothy Jean (Phares) VanPelt. Shelby graduated from Bruce High School in Keyser in 1972 and was an excellent homemaker, a wonderful mother, and grandmother. She loved going to church, gardening, flowers, ice cream, and popsicles. Shelby was an outgoing person, never met a stranger, and always had a smile on her face.
She was preceded in death by her parents.

She was born on June 12,1930, in the gently rolling hills of Tatum, Texas. Nell was the daughter of Neal and Jewel Woods. Nell’s life was a testament to her warmth and kindness, deeply touching the lives of those fortunate enough to know her. She shared a life full of laughter and travel with her beloved husband, Bob Fears. There was never a dull moment around Nell. She had a witty sense of humor and seemed to have an ‘old saying’ for just about any situation. She was a devoted mother and grandmother to all her children, serving as a pillar in her local community. Her presence and charm will be deeply missed.
Nell Fears is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bob Fears; and children, Neal Noel, Melinda Richardson, and Terry Noel.
Survivors include her grandchildren, Amanda Payne and William Richardson; and her great-grandchildren, DeShaun Wilson and Zoe Richardson; and her very dear friends, the Chambers family.

She attended Chapel Hill Independent School District and worked for Dr. Hand in Lindale for over 15 years. Connie was an avid reader and enjoyed listening to music, watching crime documentaries, and engaging in any craft activities such as adult coloring books and painting. She had an adventurous and inquisitive spirit and was full of life. Those who knew and loved her will always remember her great sense of humor and outgoing nature.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband, Clint Kilgore of Clayton, Oklahoma; her children, Christina Ivey of Carbondale, Illinois, Brittany (Ivey) Solis of Lindale, and Alexis Ivey of Tyler; her siblings, Elizabeth Wyatt of Kaufman and Samuel Adams, Jr. of Mesquite; her granddaughter, Isabella Solis of Lindale; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Willard Earl Hastings was born in Matador, Texas, on August 30, 1942. He was the son of Sidney Earl Hastings and Ida Lou (Allen) Hastings-Tinsley. Willard worked as a master plumber in the East Texas area for over 30 years. He loved spending time outside in his garden, drinking beer, and playing pool. Willard was affectionately called "Pop" by his grandchildren, and he cherished every moment spent with them. His boisterous and funny personality made him unforgettable to those who knew him. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Hastings; and two brothers, Leroy Hastings and Wayne Hastings.
Survivors include his children, Tamara Grinrod and husband John of Chandler, Thomas Sigler of Chandler, Michelle Reece and husband Russell of Chandler, and Kim Blackmon and husband Billy of Larue; his brother, Johnny Hastings and wife Jody Murphy-Hastings of Silver City, New Mexico; 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

Katie was an active member of Forest Grove Baptist Church in Chandler. She enjoyed reading her Bible, attending church, and watching game shows. Katie will be remembered as someone who was always understanding, supportive, and family-oriented, a true tower of strength.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Travis Ray McLean, Sr.; two sisters and one brother.

Vera graduated from Brownsboro High School in 1976 and married Steven Mark Hammack on October 22, 1977. After serving over 25 years as a rural mail carrier in the Chandler area, Vera retired from the United States Postal Service. She enjoyed traveling, camping, and shopping during her free time. Vera was family-oriented and took pride in supporting her children and grandchildren’s livestock life. She will be remembered for her generosity, occasional pranks, joyful spirit, and infectious laughter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Jane Bohannon; and nephew, Tommy Dossey.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, J.W. Teague; her daughter, Donna Gaddy; and siblings, Ruth Nell Howard, Roshell Howard, Ouida Mell Moore, and O. Dell Howard.

John David Miller was born in Tyler, Texas on December 9, 1959. He was the son of John Henry Miller and Wanda Lee (Petty) Miller. He grew up in Tyler and attended Chandler First Assembly of God. After graduating from Brownsboro High School, David owned and operated Miller's Fina in Tyler. Later, he became an auto parts salesman for NAPA, working in the east Texas area. He was one of the founding members of CrossPointe Church in Flint. David was a compassionate, witty, and family-oriented man who loved spending time outdoors. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his baby sister, Lisa Wike.
Survivors include his wife, Missy Miller of Brownsboro; his daughter, Carrie Miller and fiancé Dylan Latham of Bullard; his son, Jacob Miller and wife Brittanie of Bullard along with his grandchildren, Emree Miller and Jonah Miller of Bullard; his sisters, Freda Parsons and husband Rob of Longview and Donna Burkett and husband Leland of Henderson; his brother-in-law, Bruce Wike of Whitehouse; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Jim Palady, David Palady, Steve Welch, Dylan Latham, Nick Cain, and Nathan Cain will serve as pallbearers.

Mr. Wehrmann passed away at his home on March 29, 2024, in Larue.
Freddie Lee Wehrmann, Jr. was born in Tyler, Texas, on December 2, 1975. He was the son of Freddie Lee Wehrmann, Sr. and Angela Dianne (Calvet) Wehrmann. Lee graduated from Brownsboro High School in 1994 and served in the United States Marine Corps for four years. After his military service, he worked for Kelly Springfield for ten years and was a drilling fluids engineer for fifteen years. Lee loved spending time with his wife, children, and family and always attended their events. He enjoyed hunting and grilling and was a big fan of the Aggies and the Texas Rangers. He had a great sense of humor and was always friendly to everyone he met. Those who knew and loved him will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Henry and Louise Wehrmann; his maternal grandparents, Ernest and Auweta Calvet; and his maternal great-grandmother, Opal Parker.
Survivors include his wife, Christy Wehrmann of Brownsboro; his parents, Freddie and Angela Wehrmann of Brownsboro; his children, Braylon Wehrmann and wife Halle of Brownsboro, Gage Wehrmann and wife Alexis of Brownsboro, and McKenna Wehrmann of Brownsboro; his granddaughter, Adeline Wehrmann of Brownsboro; his sister, Alisha Pino and husband Carmen of Bridgeton, New Jersey; his mother-in-law, Brenda Richardson of Brownsboro, and brother-in-law, Chad Richardson of Granbury; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins; along with his Marine Corps brothers.

Patricia Ellison Parker (nee Fielden), age 80, passed away, with her loving family by her side, on March 14, 2024 in Tyler, Texas. Patricia, born June 9, 1943 in Commerce, Texas, was known for her warmth, gentle nature, and kindness throughout her lifetime. She was one of the most genuine and truly nice ladies one could ever meet. Her favorite phrase, "I need a hug," always brought comfort to those around her, emphasizing her caring nature. A devout Christian, Patricia found solace and community at Martin Springs Baptist Church in Chandler, Texas.
Family meant everything to Patricia. She is survived by her children, Sheila Waters and husband, Mike, Julie Epperson, and Kenneth Ellison; her grandchildren Kevin Blount and wife, Jessica, Luke Haskins and wife, Madison, Erica Allen, Jessica Brown, Amanda Bass and husband, John, Tony Epperson, Herbie Travis and wife, Channing, Jorgia Herrin and husband, James, Konner Ellison, Reece Ellison, Justin Lucero, and Joshua Lucero; 20 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; and last but not least, her siblings Martha Arden, Joyce Hare, Sara and Bobby Arden, J.E. Fielden, and Hilton Ellison. Already waiting on her in Heaven were her parents, Freddie Lee Fielden and Virgie Burnett; her sisters Maxine Ketner, Leta Nell Fielden, Wanda Ashmore, and Sue Ellison Johnston; her first husband of 42 years, Donald Buford Ellison (d. 2004); her second husband, Edward Dean Parker (d. 2020); and her son-in-law, Johnny Epperson.
In her leisure time, Patricia enjoyed talkin’ (she never met a stranger), dancing, hunting for treasures at garage sales, sewing, and cherishing moments with her beloved family. Friends and family will fondly remember her deep love for Coca Cola and sweets. We will all miss fighting for the last bite of her iconic banana pudding! Her legacy of love and compassion will forever be treasured by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Serving as pallbearers will be Konner Ellison, Reece Ellison, Kevin Blount, Tony Epperson, Herbie Travis, and Ryan Brown.

Tiffanie Anne Wiggins was born on February 20, 1989, in Grand Prairie. She was the daughter of Jerry Leon Wiggins and Rena Bridges. Tiffanie graduated from Brownsboro High School. She enjoyed watching television, spending time outdoors, swimming, and being around her family. Tiffanie had a great love for animals and was always happy with a big smile on her face.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Allen Wiggins, and her maternal grandfather, Jerry Bridges.

Gerald Dean Brown was born in League City, Texas, on March 4, 1947. He was the son of Virgil Grady Brown and Irine Elvern (Wyatt) Brown. Gerald attended Brownsboro ISD and served in the United States Army for two years. After 35 years of service, he retired from Kelly Springfield. Gerald had a passion for fishing, hunting, horses, and farming. He was outgoing and, more than anything, cherished spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Ray Brown, Judy Bogue, Kay Osborn, Peggy Blackburn, and Joyce Carson; and two grandsons, Kolton Perry and Jeremy England.

Shirley was a former member of Willowbrook Baptist Church in Tyler and is currently a member of Pasadena Baptist Church in Pasadena. She dedicated 28 years to the Smith County Health Department before retiring. Shirley will be remembered for her caring and loyal nature by those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents: her first husband, Frank House; her second husband, Jimmy Gilbert; and three siblings, Patsy Frisby, Geraldine Smith, and Fern Salver.

Jose was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and graduated from Brownsboro High School in 2008. He enjoyed listening to music, detailing his cars, and practicing reciting the rosary.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Marcelo Benitez Tinajero; brother, Daniel Benitez-Duran; nephew, Leonel Gutierrez-Benitez; and aunt, Rosa Benitez-Ledezma.

Mr. Taylor passed away on February 21, 2024, at home surrounded by his wife and daughters.
Mr. Taylor served in the United States Air Force for three years, followed by the Air Force Reserves for four more years. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Brownsboro; and the Masonic Lodge No. 993 in Chandler, where he was Worshipful Master.
Mr. Taylor retired as a Drilling Foreman from the oil and gas industry with over 50 years of service. He spent his retired years filled with a vast number of activities, including golfing and fishing. He rode his motorcycle around the perimeter of the United States, to Alaska and Route 66. He also achieved his goal of attaining his pilot’s license and enjoyed flying his single-engine plane.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Taylor, infant twin daughters, and grandson, Kyle Maytubby.
He is survived by his wife, Dixie Taylor, of Murchison, Texas; daughter Lynnette Maytubby (Dan) of Athens, Texas; daughter Julie Elston of Burleson, Texas; grandchildren Taylor Elston (Amanda), Lucy De La Cruz (Donnie), Tucker Elston, Annalise Maytubby, Addison Maytubby, and Colette Wind (Clayton); and eight great-grandchildren.

Lahoma graduated from Duncan High School and later earned her bachelor's degree from Abilene Christian University. She spent most of her life as a homemaker, caterer, and Christian education author. She was an active member of the Fairmont Church of Christ and was involved in the Children's Ministry. Lahoma was known for her outgoing personality, strong will, independence, kind and caring nature, and her unwavering faith. She touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband, Paul Frank Cox.
Survivors include her children, Shawn Cox and wife Natalie of Portland, Oregon, Brad Cox and wife Jill of McKinney, and Paula Gower and husband Alan of Midland; her brother, Charles Childs and wife Carolyn of Fayetteville, Arkansas; her grandchildren, Tyler Cox and wife Becca, Cameron Cox, Maggie Cox, Colby Cox, Hailey Rhoden and husband Reece, Marcus Gower, and Daniel Gower and wife Lauren; and two great-granddaughters, Claire Cox and Channing Jo Rhoden.

Howard Heston Walker was born on May 20, 1932, in Donie, Texas. He was the son of Howard Jackson Walker and Ada Dell (Rainer) Walker. Howard attended Groesbeck High School and served in the United States Navy from 1951 to 1954. After completing his service, he worked as a police officer in Houston and later became a warehouse manager at HL&P and Schepps Grocery in Houston. Howard also raised Beefmasters on his cattle ranch, Twin Cedars Ranch. In his free time, he enjoyed gardening, fishing, and traveling. Hess is a true East Texan from the top of his Stetson hat to the tip of his Justin cowboy boots. He was generous and loving to family and friends. He loved sharing his life stories with them, always with a smile and a twinkle in his sparkling blue eyes. He was an avid storyteller and will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister Ava Lee Black; and one son, Stanley Cook.
Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Shirley Walker of Chandler; sons, Allen Walker and wife Tona of Tomball and Jared Cook and wife Sheryl of Fairhope, Alabama; his brothers, Charles Walker and wife Janice of Houston, James Walker and wife Anne of Tyler, and Dennis Walker and wife Barbara of Groesbeck; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She worked with Mitchell Oil in Spring, Texas, and then with Blue Cross Blue Shield in Omaha, Nebraska. Helen and her husband Gene later retired in Chandler, where they are both members of the First Methodist Church. In her free time, she enjoyed painting, crocheting, and going on walks with her husband. She was known for her incredible strength and caring nature.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Gregory Giger; and three brothers, Marvin Bateman, Jack Bateman, and Larry Bateman.
Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Gene Giger of Chandler; her daughters, Toni Tucker and husband Mark of Denton and Terri Magden of Denton; her brother, Dick Bateman and wife Janie of Parsons, Kansas; and seven grandchildren.

Theophile Thibodeaux was born on June 29, 1942, in Melville, Louisiana. He was the son of Theodore Thibodeaux and Alzire Marie (Guidry) Thibodeaux. After graduating from Grand Prairie High School in 1960, he worked as a tax agent for Lonestar Gas for 25 years until his retirement. He played men's softball, bowled, and coached girls fast pitch in his younger years. Theo enjoyed going to the casinos, journaling, solving crossword puzzles and Sudoku, researching genealogy, and was an avid fantasy football fan. He had a talent for woodworking and gardening and loved to work with his hands. Pop, as he was known to many, had a big heart, loved his family, and was an honest Cajun through and through. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Ray Cahanin; and his sister, Melda (Cahanin) Childers; as well as numerous other brothers and sisters.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, David Melton Richards; her daughter, Nina Richards-Holloway; and four siblings, Chester Bailey, Dwight Bailey, Donald Bailey, and J.W. Bailey.

She was fond of shopping, reading, and going to the salon to get her hair done. Bette was known for her strong will, honesty, and friendly personality among those who knew and loved her.

Her family even considered her a treasure hunter and spy. She was known as "Nanny" to many and will be remembered for her fighting spirit, witty sense of humor, and love of canasta.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Barbara Goff; five sisters, Opal, Mae, Jo, Dot, and Joyce; and one brother, Mike.
