She was born on June 9, 1970, in Houston, Texas by her parents Albert and Rosemary Barber. She is preceded in death by her father, Albert Barber. Her spirit is carried on by her husband, David Zalman and three sons, Jaron, Christopher, and Trevor Zalman. She is also survived by her mother, Rosemary Barber, sister, Michelle Mintz, and numerous nephews, cousins, and other family members. Evelyn met David in 1998 while both were working as prison guards in Huntsville, Texas. After a short courtship, Evelyn and David fell in love. They were married on October 21, 1998, and began their own loving family. Evelyn, with her family, moved to Uvalde, Texas and lived there for 15 years before moving to San Antonio, Texas. San Antonio area became her home and where her husband will remain. Evelyn loved going to local markets, scary movies, local rivers and lakes, and other family outings. While traveling, Buc-ees was a must stop. She enjoyed her rescued cats: Stogie and Whiskey and our lively dog: Bourbon. She loved her job as the Logistic Manager at University Hospital, as well as working for her boss, Johnny Bartelle. She was a hard worker and held everyone to the same standards. She was known as "Boss Lady". Purple was her color. The character Beth in Yellowstone was her favorite, since Evelyn was like her. She was strong willed and stubborn. She was a true "Mama Bear" and would fight on behalf of her children against anyone. But she did expect her children to behave and be well mannered. They are for the most part; boys will be boys. Evelyn loved them dearly. She really enjoyed when they all got together, and the boys would joke around and laugh. She just enjoyed the family noise that was created with everyone around. And on her last day, that is what was occurring, FAMILY. She will be truly missed.

After retiring from the military, he worked another 20 years in the Veterans Administration as a cancer research assistant before retiring again. He loved to travel the world with his wife of 54 years. He is preceded in death by his parents; six brothers and sisters; and his wife Myrtle Diane Willette. He is survived by his two sons, David (Kathleen) Willette and Paul (Suzie) Willette; sister, Beverly Smith; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. The beauty she cultivated mirrored her own inner grace and brought her immense joy. She was a devoted parishioner of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and was a member of the Guadalupanas Society. Zulema is survived by her devoted spouse, Tomas, and their children: Tom, Rick (Roxy), Susie, Albert (Ilene), and Marc (Liza). Jacob was a passionate musician and a prolific, self-taught drummer in San Antonios rock and metal scene. His most recent project was playing drums for the metal core band, SilencerTX. Along with love for music, Jacob shared his fathers love for the culinary arts. He started his culinary career as a fry cook and soon became a talented chef for Mamas Cafe. Jacob was an avid Anime fan, and was currently studying reading, writing and speaking Japanese in preparation for an upcoming trip to Japan with a friend to immerse himself in the culture and language he was so fond of. When he wasnt working, playing in his band or studying Japanese, he enjoyed gaming with his brother and friends. His favorite video game was Zelda, and used to spend hours playing PS4 and Xbox. Jacob was known for his kind and gentle heart. He had a huge love for dogs, and his best friend, Turbo, the dog he leaves behind, waits patiently for the day he will be reunited with his owner. Jacob will be profoundly missed by those who loved him, and we will always treasure the brief time we had with him. Family will receive guests from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Sunday, October 8, 2023 at Castle Ridge Mortuary 10901 W Loop 1604 N Access Rd., San Antonio, TX, 78254.

He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Upon receiving a Civil Engineering degree from Tulane, Luis returned to Venezuela and honed his skills in the oilfield sector. After receiving his Master of Science in Naval Architecture from U.C. Berkeley, Luis dedicated himself to maritime vessel design and operations. He was a loving, family man who had the good fortune to be able to enjoy his life on his own terms. The funeral service will be held at Noon on Saturday, October 21st at Our Lady of Guadalupe.

Roger lived his life full of love for his wife and family. His determination and strength will live on through his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He was a master carpenter by trade, and you could always find him sitting in his favorite chair in the garage tinkering with something until the very end. His love for the Dallas Cowboys will never be forgotten and will be a favorite past time memory for all who watched games with him over the years wearing his favorite color blue in support. His dedication to the Spurs and all the countless games he stayed up watching was always a great time for him and his wife. Any day with his grandchildren or great grandchildren was his favorite day, hearing all their stories brought him joy and filled his heart. He treasured his time at the Salazar ranch reminiscing about childhood memories with his brothers and sisters, while sharing stories with his nieces and nephews about his parents and siblings that have since passed on. It brought nothing but smiles and laughter for all who were there, and he looked forward to the next family get together. All who remember him will remember him with gregarious laughter and huge smiles, which will be carried in our hearts and never be forgotten.
