She will be deeply missed by many families and friends.  May she rest in peace.
Services for Evangelina Santos will begin on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 from 2pm till 5pm.  Chapel Service will begin at 3pm.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 30, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Carrillo Funeral Home in Tyler. Funeral service will be Friday, December 1, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Carrillo Funeral Home in Tyler, with Pastor Jaime Gonzalez officiating. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Cathedral in the Pines Memorial Garden in Tyler.
Esther was born April 10, 1939 in Kennedy, TX, to Jesus Garcia and Trinidad Cerda. On August 28, 1955 she was united in marriage to Carlos J. Almaraz in San Antonio, where they resided for six years until they moved to Tyler.
Esther was preceded in death by her husband, Carlos J. Almaraz; her mother, Trinidad Cerda; and brother, Ponciano Cerda.
Survivors include her sister, Rosa Cerda of San Antonio; her three children, Diane Negrete of Tyler, Christina Almaraz of Tyler, Ricardo Almaraz of Troup; seven grandchildren Juan Gonzalez, Jaime Gonzalez, Holly Hernandez, Sabrina Fahrer, Anna McCracken, Carly Almaraz, Ricky Almaraz Jr.; and many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Pallbearers will be Danny Cruz, Delano Guevara, Gabriel Guevara, Dominic Aguilar, Adrian Martinez,  JC Gonzalez and Gabriel Portugue.

Serafin era uno de nueve hijos de Jose Venegas y Agustina Sanchez. Nació el 24 de febrero de 1935 en Cd. Hidalgo, Michoacán, México. De origen humilde, Serafin empezó a trabajar desde muy joven. Algunos de sus oficios incluyeron trabajo de bracero en California, vendedor ambulante y dueño de su propio negocio. Siempre fue creyente que cualquier oficio es digno mientras se hiciera honestamente.
Serafin se casó con su esposa Juana Sanchez Alcantar en 1954 y juntos tuvieron 11 hijos. Un padre ejemplar, Serafin dedico toda su vida a que su familia siempre tuviera lo necesario y sus hijos pudieran alcanzar sus propias metas. Muchas palabras describen la importancia de Serafin en las vidas de sus seres queridos: hijo, esposo, patriarca de una familia expansiva, bromista y fuente ejemplar de sabiduría.
Le precedieron en la muerte sus padres Jose y Agustina; hermana Francisca; hermanos Pedro, Gudalupe, Salvador; y su esposa Juana.
Le sobreviven sus hermanas Teresa, Maria Elena, Celia; su hermano Asuncion; 11 hijos: Gloria, Nacieli, Serafin, Silvia, Irma, Maria, Jose Luis, Alicia, Carlos, Arturo, Gustavo; 41 nietos; 30 bisnietos y 10 tataranietos.
Serafin deja un legado de fortaleza, de superar obstáculos y de devoción a sus seres amados. Inculcó a los que lo rodeaban los valores de honestidad, de aprovechar las oportunidades proveídas por la vida y de enfrentar cualquier dificultad sin miedo.
Para honrar su último deseo, Serafin será transportado a su natal Cd. Hidalgo, Michoacán, México y enterrado al lado de su difunta esposa Juana.

Serafin Venegas Sanchez, 88, passed away on April 15, 2023.
Serafin was born one of nine children to Jose Venegas and Agustina Sanchez in Cd. Hidalgo, Michoacan, Mexico on February 24, 1935. Born into humble surroundings, Serafin began working early on. Among other things, Serafin worked as a bracero in California, as a salesperson, and was an entrepreneur. He valued a good work ethic and always believed any job was worthy when done honestly.
Serafin married his spouse, Juana Sanchez Alcantar, in 1954. They went on to have 11 children. Serafin dedicated his life to ensure his family was always taken care of and his children were able to accomplish their goals. He wore many titles: son, husband, patriarch of an expansive family, jokester, and vessel of knowledge and advice.
Serafin was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Agustina; sister Francisca; brothers Pedro, Guadalupe, Salvador; and his wife, Juana.
He is survived by sisters Teresa, Maria Elena, Celia; brother Asuncion; his 11 children: Gloria, Nacieli, Serafin, Silvia, Irma, Maria, Jose Luis, Alicia, Carlos, Arturo, Gustavo; 41 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Serafin leaves behind a legacy of resilience, overcoming the odds, and devotion to his loved ones. He instilled those nearest to him with strong convictions to be honest, seize the opportunities life provides, and face any challenge head on.
In honor of his last wishes, Serafin will be transported to his hometown of Cd. Hidalgo, Michoacan, Mexico and laid to rest next to his late wife, Juana.
