Obituary Preview: Reverend, Tommie Robert Blake, was born on August 9, 1943 to Clara Belle Oliver (Blake) and Paul Caldwell in Paterson, New Jersey. On Saturday, March 13, 2021, God called Tommie from labor to reward at the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City, NJ.
At an early age he accepted Christ in his life. He was ordained under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Allene Gilmore. Later on, he began his own church, The Philadelphia Church Of Brotherly Love.
Tommie received his education in the Paterson Public School System. Tommie also served in the U.S. Army as a Combat Engineer with the ranking of Private Second Class from 1978 to 1983. Before Tommie retired in April 2011, Tommie worked as a Supervisor with International Beauty Products, Inc. in Fairfield, New Jersey for well over twenty years.
Tommie was preceded in death by his mother, Clara Belle Oliver, his step-father, Harvey Oliver, his sister, Betty Louise Cooper (Blake), brothers, Richard Blake Gray and Joe Blake. His 1st wife, Barbara Anne Robinson (Blake) and son Robert Lamont Blake.
Tommie is survived by his wife, Andrea Blake (Bennett), young sons, Joseph and Anthony Blake, young daughters, Azmirah and Amanda Blake all of Egg Harbor, NJ. Step-son, Sequan Bennett of Newark, New Jersey, adult Children: Son, Jarred Blake and Fiancée Karina of St. Cloud, Florida, Daughters, Adrienne Perez (Blake) and Barbara McLennon (Blake) and husband Lester, of Paterson, NJ, Anisa Robinson (Blake) and husband Maynard, of Harrisburg, PA and Veronica Ali (Blake) of Northumberland, PA, Robin Ramoz and husband Martin of Philadelphia, PA, Rolanda Oliver of North Haledon, NJ, and step-son Anthony McCray and Wife Rosalind of Liverpool, PA. Sister-in-Law, Sarah Blake. Paternal Aunt, Zakiyyah Salahuddin (Phyllis Gray); Nephew-Percy Gray, in West Orange, NJ. Nieces-Beverly Streater (Carson), Kathleen Pride (Blake) and Margie Blake all of Paterson, NJ, and Benita Jones (Gray) of Irvington, NJ. Tommie had fourteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, a numerous amount of nieces, nephews, family and friends whom he loved dearly.
