Obituary Preview: Shawn M. “Choco” Cadden, 49, of Allentown, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 24, 2022 while in the care of St. Luke’e Hospice House, surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband of Heather A. (Woolley) Cadden with whom she shared over 22 years of loving marriage. Born in Allentown, he was the son of  Sue Ann (Wittman) Zeleski and the late Jerry Cadden. Shawn was a graduate of Dieruff High School, class of 1990. He was employed by Hatfield as a smoke meat injector and most recently employed by Empire LLC. Shawn enjoyed playing poker and occasionally stirring the pot. He was the first one up for a good debate. From sports to movies.
Shawn played baseball from 9 years old at East Side Memorial until  he was 15 years old and then for Dieruff High School and Stahley’s and Jordan Creek in the Tri-County Men’s League. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys, Boston Red Sox, Notre Dame and Georgetown Basketball fan.
Survivors: In addition to his loving wife Heather and mother Sue Zeleski, he will be remembered by his daughters Kayla Cadden and Kaycee Cadden of Allentown; sister Stacey Oswald of Kunkletown; mother and father in law Cathy and Kenneth Woolley of Allentown; 11 nieces and nephews and many loving friends.
Services: A Funeral Service will be held at 2 P.M. on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden Street Bethlehem, PA 18018 where the family will receive relatives and friends from 12 Noon until time of the service. Doris would never turn down a game of Bingo.

Sandra R. Ulshafer - April 17, 1944 - April 19, 2022

Obituary Preview: Sandra R. Ulshafer, 78, of Bethlehem, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill.  She was the beloved wife of Robert M. Ulshafer, Sr., with whom he shared over 55 years of marriage.  Born in Fountain Hill, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Rachel (DelVillaggio) Dembrosky.
Sandy was a graduate of St. Francis Academy.  She also attended dental assistant school after graduating.   She was a parishioner at St. Ursula Church in Fountain Hill.  She worked a variety of jobs after raising her children and was always active in their lives.  She enjoyed gardening, reading, floral arranging and camping and especially spending time with her family.
Survivors: In addition to her husband Robert, she will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Nadine M. Koenig and her husband Gary of Germansville; son, Robert M. Ulshafer, Jr. and his wife Patti of Bath; grandchildren Mikaela and Addison; brother, John Dembrosky and his wife Carolyn of Stone Mountain, GA.
Services:  A Mass of  Christian Burial Will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday April 25, 2022 at St. Ursula Catholic Church, 1300 Broadway Fountain Hill, PA 18015.  A viewing will be a held on Sunday afternoon from 1:00 - 3:00 P.M. and again on Monday morning from 8:30 - 9:30 AM all at Cantelmi Funeral Home, 1311 Broadway Fountain Hill.  Her burial will be in Holy Saviour Cemetery.  A memory tribute may be placed at www.cantelmifuneralhome.com.

Obituary Preview: Gail Simon Hurst, of Center Valley, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 17, 2022 at the age of 82.  She was the beloved wife of John F. Hurst, with whom she shared over 62 years of marriage.  Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Mae (Van Brunt) Simon.  She was a graduate of Lower Merion High School, class of 1957, and Bryn Mawr School of Nursing, class of 1960.  Gail had a lifetime career working as a pediatric nurse in both hospital and office settings.  She was active in the Girl Scouts for many years.  Gail was passionate about animals and volunteered at Animals in Distress.  She also trained service dogs for the mobility impaired.  Gail was creative in many ways and was an avid gardener.  She also enjoyed reading, sewing, baking and especially spending time with her family.
Survivors: In addition to her husband John, she will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Pamela Hurst Hill and her husband Gary of Royersford, Christine Hurst Perrucci and her husband Michael, as well as two grandchildren, Jack and Alexandra Perrucci, all of Bethlehem.

Obituary Preview: Frances E. Gestl, 89, of Bethlehem, passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2022. She was the beloved wife of Russell R. Gestl with whom she shared over 67 years of loving marriage. Born on May 27, 1932 in Bethlehem she was the daughter of the late John and Agnes (Kostelnik) Ender.
Frances started life on the family farm in Hellertown, enjoyed her early years there and started her schooling in a one room schoolhouse. When her father started work at Bethlehem Steel, he moved the family to Bethlehem where she attended Holy Ghost Grade School and Allentown Central Catholic High School. After graduation Frances was employed at Bethlehem Steel when she met Russ, the love of her life. They married at Holy Ghost Church where they were lifelong members, and their children also attended school. Frances, a loving wife, and mother, was a caring homemaker and caretaker always putting her family first. Frances and Russ always enjoyed trips to the casino with friends, and watching baseball games together. She was an avid Phillies fan. Frances considered reading, gardening, and baking as her favorite hobbies. But above all, she cherished her time spent with her family and friends. From family reunions to neighborhood gatherings, she was the social butterfly who loved people and bringing them together.

Ramos, 21, of Fountain Hill died Sunday, April 17, 2022 in his home.  Born in Fountain Hill, he was a beloved son of Wilson Ramos of Bethlehem and the late Maryann Tenebruso.  A 2018 graduate of Liberty High School, Raven played football both his freshman and sophomore years.  Most recently he enjoyed boxing with his big brother, Victor.  He was a trainer at FedEx, Northampton the past 2 years.  He previously was an environmental services aide at St. Luke’s University Health Network, Fountain Hill.  In his spare time he enjoyed video games and was known as “UhNem”.  Raven was a kind soul and a friend to all.  He was great with kids and was the stand by babysitter in the family.  When his Mom got sick, he was the one that was always checking up on her.  He was a true Mama’s boy.  His family meant everything to him.
Survivors: Father; brothers, Wilson Ramos III of FL, Victor Ramos of Bethlehem, Antonio Ramos with whom he resided; sister, Bridget wife of Matt Lattea of Freemansburg; Uncles and Aunts, Wifredo Ramos, Sr. and wife Jenny, David Ramos, Sr. and wife Anna, Jaimie Justiniano, Marilyn Thompson and husband Craig, Lydia Kelly, Toni Tenebruso, Christine Perez and husband Angel, Anthony Tenebruso; nephews; niece; cousins; beloved dog Patches.

Josephine P. Quarry - September 27, 1928 - April 16, 2022

Obituary Preview: Josephine P. Quarry, 93, of Bethlehem, peacefully passed away Saturday, April 16, 2022 with her loving daughter and son-in-law by her side.  She was the beloved wife of Robert E. Quarry, Sr., with whom she shared over 56 years of marriage.  Born in 1928 in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Albert T. and Rose (Sylvester) Prosperi.
Josephine had a full and extraordinary life.  Her greatest joy was raising her family, the center of her life.  She loved her family beyond words and above all else.  She loved and beamed with joy from her 3 children, being Gram to her 5 grandchildren and being Grammy and Nonni to her 9 great grandchildren.
She enjoyed traveling and dancing with her beloved husband.  She enjoyed spending time with her many close friends, playing cards, reading, and Italian cooking.  At family gatherings her meals were always everyone’s favorite.
Josephine graduated from Bethlehem Catholic High School in 1946.  She had a career of 25 years as a chip production and assembly line worker at the former Western Electric retiring in 1982.  She was a member of the Western Electric Pioneers and volunteered for many years at St. Luke’s Hospital, Fountain Hill and St. Luke’s North.  She was a member of St. Ursula Catholic Church, Fountain Hill.
Josephine was a very special, loving and generous person that will be deeply missed by all those who knew her.
Survivors: Daughter, Colleen wife of Jeffrey Jennings of Louisa, VA; daughter-in-law, Nancy Quarry of Sherman Oaks, CA widow of Robert E. Quarry, Jr.; 5 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her beloved husband Robert E. Quarry, Sr.; sons, Patrick T. Quarry and Robert E. Quarry, Jr.; brothers, Bill Prosperi, Augustine Sebastionelli and Peter Sebastionelli.

Margarita worked as a Nurse’s aide for the former Leader Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center and she also worked for Head Start for most of her life until retiring. She was a faithful member of Holy Infancy Catholic Church, Bethlehem where she was a member of the Cofradía of the Sacred Heart. Margarita enjoyed cooking and entertaining her family on holidays and Sundays.
Survivors: In addition to her loving husband Miguel, she will be remembered by her sons Miguel Rodriguez, Jr. of Bethlehem, William Rodriguez of Cape Cod, MA and Xavier Rodriguez and his wife Rosa of Bethlehem; sisters Carmen Garcia of Bethlehem and Irma Huertas of Bethlehem as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

Helen was a member of First United Church of Christ, Easton. She worked at the Fredwill Company and later as a CNA for over 20 years at Easton Nursing Center until retiring. Helen enjoyed crocheting, polka music and listening to Elvis.
Survivors: She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Lucinda Cottrill and her husband David of Bethlehem and Brenda Racht  and her husband Leo of Sun City, SC; sister Gloria Steckel and her granddaughter Courtney Lorch and her husband Zach of Merrimack, NH. Helen was preceded in death by her siblings Minnie, Virginia, Kathryn and Esther.

John DeAngelo, Jr. - May 17, 1937 - April 12, 2022

Obituary Preview: John DeAngelo, Jr., 84, of Whitehall, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2022. He was the beloved husband of Catherine P. (Tees) DeAngelo with whom he celebrated 63 years of marriage on November 8, 2021.  Born in Elmhurst, Queens, NY, he was the son of the late John and Josephine (Montera) DeAngelo.  John was a 1955 graduate of the New York School of Printing where he learned the art of calligraphy and engraving.  He started his career at Chelsea Engraving in Manhattan, NY where he used his craft to create custom invitations for many well-known New York hotels.  John also served his country in the US Army.  He and his family moved to Bethlehem in 1965 and he worked for the Bethlehem Steel printery for 20 years.  He continued working in the print shop at Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Allentown and finished his printing career at the Northampton School District retiring in 2005.  John was an active father and a former President of the Bethlehem Catholic High School Booster Club.  In his younger years, he was an avid fly fisherman and hunter.  John loved gardening and took pride in his pristine flower beds.  Most of all, John loved his family and was especially proud of his grandchildren.
Survivors: Wife; sons, Michael J. DeAngelo of Bethlehem, Christopher DeAngelo and his wife Stephanie of Abington; grandchildren, George, Veronica, Lena, Zachary, Dominic, Adrian, Olena.  He was predeceased by his sister and brother-in-law, Grace and Tom DeFilippo and his daughter-in-law, Peg DeAngelo.

Tommie Lynn Royer - March 14, 1958 - April 10, 2022

She was the beloved companion of Carol (Peters) Royer with whom she shared over 12 years of loving marriage. Born in Bethlehem on March 14, 1958, she was a daughter of Judith A. (Mease) Royer and the late Arthur Thomas Royer.
Tommie worked as an appliance repairer for Jim Bobal Appliance Service for over 25 years until retiring. She was a member of Star of Bethlehem Church, Bethlehem, and the Ballet Guild of the Lehigh Valley. Being a very active member of the transgender community, she served as a mentor with the Lehigh Valley Transgender Renaissance. An avid NASCAR fan Tommie was the Operations Manager of security for Pocono Raceway for many years. Tommie proudly and honorably served in the U.S. Army. Above all she cherished her time spent with her family.
SURVIVORS: Tommie will be lovingly remembered by her companion, Carol; children, Cinthia Kay Royer, Thomas Clark Royer and wife Samantha, Stephen Lee Royer and Gerald “Jerry” Royer and wife Ellen; stepchildren, Joseph John Guilmette and Bryan Donald Himmelwright and wife Dorothy; grandchildren, Jacob Paul Eznack, Dorian Jackson, Jackson Royer, Reyna Royer, and Jaime Himmelwright; sister, Brenda Mannon and husband Brett and Diana “DeeDee” Anderson and husband William. Survivors: In addition to his loving mother Mary Ann, he will be remembered by his brother Todd Weaver of Bethlehem; niece Alexa of Whitehall; nephew Zachary of Bethlehem and his godmother Carol Rutkowski and godparents Barbara and Jeffrey Seeds. Jimmy was preceded in death by his daughter Kennedy Lyn-Weaver DeFrancesco and brother Scott Weaver.

Obituary Preview: Stanislaus “Stanley” Chlebowski, 75, of Bethlehem died Saturday, April 9, 2022 in his home surrounded by his family.  He was the husband of Regina (Kaiser) Chlebowski with whom he celebrated 47 years of marriage on August 11, 2021.  Born in Long Island City, NY, he was the son of the late George and Casimira ( Przybylski ) Chlebowski.  A 1963 graduate of The Boys High School, Queens, NY, Stanley attended technical school where he studied plumbing.  He served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.  Stanley was a postal clerk for the United States Post Office working in Bethlehem and Easton before retiring in 2011.  He was a member of St. Stephen’s of Hungary Catholic Church, Allentown and a Fourth Degree of the Knights of Columbus, Easton.
Survivors: Wife; children, Michael Chlebowski and his wife Jessica of Albrightsville, Tanya wife of Drew Hensel of Northampton, Daniel and his wife Rachel Chlebowski of Bethlehem; grandchildren, Xavier, Clara, Savanna, Alexis, Leah and Erika.  He was predeceased by siblings, Richard Chlebowski and Alina Amitrano.

She graduated from Westmoreland High School, Trucksville, PA and from Nesbitt Memorial Hospital School of Nursing, receiving her RN diploma. She interned as a psychiatric registered nurse at Allentown State Hospital, where she subsequently supervised two buildings.
Joyce was an active member of the East Hills Moravian Church in Bethlehem where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday school and Catechism classes, and served on the Board of Elders. She also served on the Moravian Eastern District Executive Board as the representative to the Lehigh Valley Moravian congregations.
Interment in the Nisky Hill Cemetery, Bethlehem, will be private. A memorial service at the East Hills Moravian Church in Bethlehem will be scheduled at a future date. Tom was a lifelong Philadelphia Eagles fan due to the fact that his father played football with the Frankford Yellow Jackets who eventually became the Philadelphia Eagles.  He loved spending time with his family and always attending his grandchildren’s events.
