Born July 24, 1935, in Waverly, she was the daughter of the late Robert Snodgrass and Frances Ferguson Snodgrass. On October 11, 1953, in Waverly, she married Leslie F. Aversman who preceded her in death on May 18, 1989. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and Hazel Hill Extension Club, both of Waverly. She loved quilting, reading, shopping, watching TV and her cats. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.

Survivors include two children, Judy Schnakenberg (Tim) of Blue Springs, MO and Robert Aversman (Donna) of Waverly; five grandchildren, Chris, Rachel, Josh, Jeff and Dan; nine great-grandchildren, Courtney, Zane, Corbin, Kylie, Taylor, Bentley, Dylan, Corey and Alivia; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Anna Mae was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Hailey Michelle Aversman; two sisters; and two brothers.

Born September 20, 1940, in Alma, MO, he was the son of the late Robert Willard and Esther Dittmer Willard. On June 17, 2017, he married Teresa Zimmer Kreber who survives of the home. He was a member of the Elks Lodge No. 2783 in Benton County, Trilumina Lodge No. 205 A.F. & A.M. in Marshall and Trinity Lutheran Church in Alma. He loved his lake life at the Lake of the Ozarks, enjoyed bowling, was a big Kansas City Chiefs fan and followed his sports.

Survivors include his wife Teresa; three children, Scott Willard (Lucy) of Laredo, TX, Nancy Hedgpeth (Mike) of LaMonte, MO and Lisa Eddie of Decatur, AL; four stepchildren, Cathy Strahle of Sedalia, MO, Connie Anderson of Olathe, KS, Samantha Zimmer of Kansas and Christiana Jacobs of Ohio; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one sister, Alice Bargfrede of Marshall; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Temple was preceded in death by one sister, Kathryn Weathers; and two siblings in infancy, Martha Jane Willard and William Robert Willard.

Donald William Kempfe - March 15, 1937 - August 25, 2022

Obituary Preview: Donald William Kempfe, of Independence, MO, began his Heavenly journey on August 25, 2022. He is the eldest child of Elmer and Esther (Schmohe) Kempfe, and was born on March 15, 1937 at home in Mt. Leonard, MO. After graduating in 1955 from Alma High School in Alma, MO, Don served 2 years in the U.S. Army (1959-1961). Two years later on July 27, 1963 he married his love, Lora Mae Schnakenberg at Trinity Lutheran Church in Alma, MO. The brides uncle, Pastor Clinton Koch, performed the ceremony. The union was bound to be blessed as the faithful couple realized they shared the same confirmation verse, I Timothy 4:8. Known as a man who put 110% into everything he did, Don worked for American Can Co., William Volker & Co. for 17 years, and then DIT-MCO International for 22 years before enjoying retirement in 2002. As a long-time member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Independence, MO, Don served in many roles. To name a few, he sang with the choir, acted as a lay representative at gatherings and assemblies, served as a trustee, and acted as an Elder in the church. These acts of servitude enabled Don to continue in his Baptismal faith laid upon him by Pastor William Jording on March 26, 1937. He was sponsored by his uncles, Walter Kempfe and Herman Schmohe. On March 18, 1951, he was confirmed by Pastor August Griesse in the same church he would be married 12 years later. Don was a self-proclaimed "tinkerer," in that his children remember him always having the perfect skill and tool to fix anything that came up. It was not unusual for Don to pick up a discarded lawn mower on the side of the road, take it home to repair like new, only to profit later. His workshop and garage are evidence of his love for auctions and estate sales. Don was "Mr. Fix It," and he definitely knew it all! His skills were called upon by many. Don also reveled in spending time on his family farm harvesting corn and green beans, and growing vegetables; namely tomatoes, like his mother. When Don was 17 years old he drove his fathers brand new John Deere Model 50 tractor home from the dealership. Two years ago that very same tractor won 1st prize for the Most Original Tractor in the Concordia Tractor Parade. He was very proud, and showed pictures to everyone he saw. Don enjoyed watching his grandsons grow into wonderful young men pursuing college. He was so proud of their accomplishments. They fondly remember golf cart rides, Gator rides, and hayrides on the farm; not to mention the annual Weiner Roast where hot dogs and smores remained the grand cuisine. He got a kick out of watching his granddogs rough & tumble on these chilly nights. A life-long Kansas City Royals fan, Don never missed a game and cheered on his team to win 2 World Series Championships. The blue Ford Station Wagon saw the family through many vacations across the United States. After the kids grew up to have families of their own, Don & Lora remained fans of traveling and experienced great times visiting all 50 states. They often visited (and moved many times) their daughter in Falls Church, VA, where they were close to Washington, D.C. and history. They traveled often with the Chicago Alton Depot Group where they made many friends and memories. Within the last few years the couple took trips to Hawaii and Alaska. A family trip to the Outer Banks in North Carolina brought touching memories of a lifetime with lighthouse tours, Wright Bros. Museum, swimming at the beach, and road-tripping with Loras home-cooked meals. Don is preceded in death by his parents, triplet sons in infancy, and sister, Marilyn Ohrenberg. Having been blessed to know and love Don, he is survived by his wife, Lora, daughter Lynette (Michael) Gates, of Falls Church, VA, son David (Amy) Kempfe, of Kansas City, MO, and grandsons, Warner and Landon Gates. Other surviving loved-ones include a sister, Carolyn Matthews, of Lincoln, MO, brother-in-law, Edward Ohrenberg, of Alma, MO, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. We have many fond memories of our husband, father, father-in-law, grandpa, uncle, great uncle, cousin, Army buddy, neighbor, church member, farmer, co-worker, fishing buddy, trapper, handyman, landscaper, mechanic, and friend. We are grateful and blessed to have the support of such wonderful family and friends. Your kind words and prayers are a blessing to us all. Wilbert was a member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church where he was in the Walther League in the church during his youth. Survivors include two sons, Paul Freund (Joyce) and Lyle Freund all of rural Concordia; one daughter, Marla Dierking (Joel) of rural Blackburn; five grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
