Robert Gerald Wallentine - March 11, 1936 - April 11, 2022

Departed: 04/11/2022 (Sun City West)
Obituary Preview: Robert Gerald “Papa” Wallentine, fought with typical Type A stubbornness, strong will and determination throughout the last year to keep his feet firmly planted and get one last round of golf in.  God won the battle on April 11, 2022, gaining one of the best for his links in Heaven.  (Do you get strokes in heaven??)
Born March 11, 1936, Bob grew up on the family farm in Lakota Iowa, the oldest of six kids of Ted & Martha (Holcomb) Wallentine.  Bob honed his management skills early in life, supervising his sibling’s chores and picking field rock, from the seat of the tractor. Papa Holcomb decided that if Bob was not going to farm, he should work for the cooperative system, and took him into the local coop and told them “This kid needs a job”.  Little did he know what he started.
He wed his high school sweetheart, and love of his life, Ann, in 1957, and would have celebrated 65 wonderful years in August of 2022.  Bob and Ann have three children, Bob (Lorrie) Wallentine, Wichita, KS, Jeff Wallentine, Rimrock AZ and Lisa (Dean) Wendell, Johnston IA, who are eternally grateful for the example he set, to live each day with integrity and character, work ethic was of utmost importance, be a giver, be kind, be grateful and family always comes first.
Bob attended Gustavus Adolphus in St. Peter MN, and was a member of the first Felco Management Training class for farmers coops.  Bob dedicated his life’s work to the care and growth of agriculture and the farmers the cooperatives served.  His humble beginnings in Swea City, Matlock and Sutherland cooperatives, scooping and hauling grain, loading feed bags, cleaning bins and grain cars, driving truck, served him well in learning the workings of a coop from the ground up.  He eventually landed in Vincent, IA and in 1973, the NEW Coop was established with the merger of Vincent and Badger elevators.
Bob proudly served as the General Manager of the NEW Coop until his retirement in 1996, at that time serving 14 locations.  He was passionate about the NEW and its employees. He cared deeply for those he served in the farm community, as well as the employees (and their families) he served with.  He was active in his community, his church, and his profession, serving on many boards and community organizations.  He was honored to be inducted into the Iowa Cooperative Hall of Fame in 2006.  Bob and Ann have enjoyed their home and all the close friendships made in Sun City West over the last 30 years.
A source of great joy was his four grandsons, Jacob (Kylee) Wallentine and great-grandson, Milo, Josh (Maddie) Wallentine and great-granddaughter, Rosie, Alex (Kristin) Wendell and Sam Wendell.  He was infinitely proud of who they had become and so very gratefully to have many wonderful memories made, tractor rides, golf cart rides, family trips, sporting events, watching them grow.  He will be remembered as THE best husband, father, Papa, friend, mentor, advocate you could ask for.
Bob absolutely did not want a funeral; a private family gathering will be held at a later date.  But please, celebrate Bob by playing a round of golf, play a mean game of dominoes, take good care of your friendships (he absolutely treasured all of you), take that trip you’ve been waiting to take, have a 5 pm toddy.
Bob will be missed greatly by his wife Ann, kids, grandkids, siblings, many relatives and friends.  Meeting him at Heaven’s gates, parents Ted & Martha, sister Marty, beloved daughter-in-law Lorrie, and many cherished others.
Memorials may be directed to the Olive Branch, 4430 E. Aztec Rd, Rimrock, AZ 86335.  Please join Robert’s family in sharing memories, pictures or videos on his tribute wall at www.caminodelsol.com.

Departed: 04/08/2022 (Sun City West)
Obituary Preview: On Friday, April 8, 2022, Doris Mary Tolar, loving wife and devoted mother of five children, went home to be with her Lord at the age of 94.  Doris was born on August 17, 1927 in Chicago, IL to Arthur and Marguerite (Kammerer) Wians.  She married John Henry Tolar on October 19, 1946.  Before marrying, Doris worked as a secretary in downtown Chicago.  After marrying, she was a homemaker, and after raising her children, she worked in several clerical positions outside the home.  Doris was also an active volunteer at her church and the local hospital, always looking to be an encouragement and bring a smile to those she met.   Doris was preceded in death by her parents and her four sisters, Harriet Forster (Wilfred), Laverne Rogers (Norman), Crystal Jarsombeck (Earl) and Arlene Daley.  She is survived by her husband; her five children, son Larry Tolar (Joyce), daughter Laura Visser, daughter Marcy Tolar, son John Tolar (Nancy), daughter Jenny Tolar; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A service to celebrate Doris’s life will be planned at a later date. Memorial gifts may be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association  or Hospice of the West,

Lynn Marie Clark - June 19, 1966 - April 07, 2022

Departed: 04/07/2022 (Sun City West)
Obituary Preview: Lynn Marie (Kucharczuk) Clark Born June 19, 1966, Allentown PA Passed April 7, 2022, Peoria, AZ
“The One With The Amazing Woman” On Thursday, April 7, 2022, Lynn Marie Kucharczuk Clark, loving wife and mother to three children, was called up to heaven peacefully in her sleep at the age of 55 with her husband at her side.
Lynn was born on June 19, 1966, in Allentown, PA to Ronald and Joanne Kucharczuk. The family moved to Arizona in 1974, and she graduated from Peoria High School. She received her bachelor’s degree from Northern Arizona University in 1990 and began a career in construction management, land development, and HR benefits. She spent time building the Arizona Republic printing plant in Deer Valley, Del Webb developing Sun City West and Sun City Grand, Shea Homes, and finally working in the leave management industry. Lynn also took nursing school classes and received her EMT certification as she was passionate about the medical field and caring for others. She always said her favorite job, also the hardest, yet most rewarding, was being a mom.
On April 5, 1997, she married Scott Clark and started a family in Peoria, AZ. They raised their oldest daughter Kameryn, who is a U of A graduate headed to Occupational Therapy graduate school at NAU. She is also an Arizona Cardinals cheerleader, of which Lynn was especially proud. Their middle son, John, earned a football scholarship and played for NAU where he will graduate with his bachelor’s degree next month and plans to join a local fire department, also making Lynn extremely proud. One of Lynn’s all-time favorite activities was watching Kameryn dance and John play football throughout their high school and college careers. She was always their biggest cheerleader. Their youngest son, Joseph (Joey), recently graduated from Ironwood HS and is attending a day program, One Step Beyond, where he typically has more fun during the workday than any of us. Lynn loved Joey so very much and especially loved how he made her laugh when she needed it the most. She had a special heart for those with special needs.
Lynn’s passion was her kids and family. She always put others first and spent her life serving and taking care of others. She was an incredible mother to her kids and encouraged them to pursue their dreams and never give up. Lynn loved to read and particularly enjoyed her book club meetings with her besties. She loved to watch TV, especially home improvement shows, Cardinals games, Dancing with the Stars, and lately “Friends.” She and Scott shared a million inside jokes using movie quotes they’d built up over the years. The beach was her happy place and she especially loved Hawaii. She loved escaping to the beach, summers in her pool, and finding extra joy in watching Joey swim or John and Grandpa build her dream backyard bar.
Lynn’s first love was her family. She came from a very strong Polish family, and she instilled that strength, loyalty, servant-hearted attitude, faith, and love in her husband and children. She loved being around her whole family and dogs, especially Riggs who brought her much comfort in her final moments, more than words can say. She also loved her friends dearly and enjoyed spending time with them. You all were very important to her. Her home was always open to any kid going through challenges, and she truly changed many lives. Lynn is survived by her husband Scott, daughter Kameryn, sons John and Joseph; parents Ronald and Joanne Kucharczuk, sisters Shelley Lamphere, Jacqueline Herrera, and Roxanne Lopez, nieces Elyce, Hannah, & Lily, and nephews Trenton, Broc, & Bond. She was very close to her “fourth sister” and best friend Kim, as well as countless friends and colleagues. Miss Lynn was much loved and will be dearly missed. Lynn was the easiest person to talk to, had a great listening ear, and gave the best advice. She really loved people unconditionally and we hope to continue her legacy to “Love Like Lynn.”
We know she’s in heaven now, probably organizing something, fulfilling her ballroom dancing dreams, or at the beach. RIP Baby. I’ll see you somewhere.
The family would like to thank Hospice of the Valley, especially nurse Heidi, for the compassion and care in her final precious moments, and Lynn’s oncologist Dr. James Choi for his passion. We thank everyone for all of the continuous love and support from friends, family, colleagues, and strangers - the thoughts and prayers for Lynn during her long cancer journey were felt and appreciated.

Mary Louise Forst - October 10, 1928 - April 07, 2022

Departed: 04/07/2022 (Sun City West)
Obituary Preview: After a long decline with Alzheimer’s disease, Mary Louise Forst left this earth on April 7, to go home to her Savior, Jesus Christ.
Born in Chicago, she was raised during the Great Depression. Her family lost their business and struggled financially, so along with her parents and sister, they moved in with her two uncles.  Mary Lou remembered her childhood with amazing detail.  Looking back, she was in awe of the sacrifice her family made to keep her busy with dance and sewing classes.  From toddler age, her best friend was her neighbor, Margie, who was a friend for over 90 years as they traveled cross country to visit each other often.
She also grew up next to Jack, the boy who would become the love of her life.  They knew each other from a very young age playing games like Hide and Seek.  After 8th grade, she recalls noticing Jack in a different way and soon they became girlfriend and boyfriend.  During their high school years, they enjoyed going to the beach, soda fountains, movies, and to stage shows at the Chicago Theater where they saw Frank Sinatra rise to fame as well as her favorite, Bing Crosby.
Mary Lou went to Visitation Catholic High School where she grew to love the Catholic Faith.  She had to work at the school library to pay for her tuition.  She loved telling stories of how she was chosen to be a helper companion to the nuns.  The nuns were not allowed to travel on their own and loved having Mary Lou along because she was so familiar traveling around the city on the bus system.
Mary Lou kept busy her senior year when Jack was drafted into WWII.  She was a very bright student who graduated 2nd in her class, had perfect HS attendance, and was president of NHS, Math, and Latin Clubs all while continuing to grow as a dancer.  She received a scholarship to college but chose not to attend because traveling costs would be too burdensome on her family.
Mary Lou and Jack wrote love letters every day while he was in the service.  In 1949, the two were married and 10 months later their first of five children was born.  Jack’s work moved the family of seven to Missouri, Kansas, and back to the Chicago area.  Mary Lou loved her five kids and made life so enjoyable.  She proudly was always at the kids’ activities.  She had to be frugal yet yearly managed a family summer vacation to Stone Lake.  Eventually they moved to Arizona where she and Jack fell in love with the desert.
As her children grew and married, she loved their spouses and was so excited when grandchildren came along always cheering them on at their sporting events and attending special events no matter if they lived in or out of town.  She was a helper, so whenever a family member moved, she was organizing kitchens, hanging drapes, and taking down and putting up wallpaper.
Raising five children, there was little time for Mary Lou to work out of the home.  But when all her children were grown, she went to work for GTE as an accounting clerk and enjoyed every minute.  In her retirement years, Mary Lou and Jack moved to Sun City West where they loved traveling, playing bridge, bowling, and playing golf.  She was even blessed to have shot a “hole in one”.
Mary Lou was devout in her faith and loved serving as a Eucharistic Minister in numerous churches.  Her family remembers her as a person who loved Christ deeply and was kind and generous to others.  She did, however, have a vice… ice cream…with Hershey’s Syrup.  Her family jokingly referred to her as a “Chocaholic”.
The love between her and her family was evident when year after year everyone wanted to come home for a weeklong Christmas celebration full of love, laughter and Forst games.  A favorite Christmas memory was when she taught the entire family how to make her famous apple pie.   She also spent years writing a detailed 300-page book entitled, “Treasured Memories”, which she gifted to her family one Christmas.  Those memories will live on and be treasured forever.
Her family hurts that she has left this earth but are comforted knowing she is in the arms of her Heavenly Father and reunited with her husband, daughter, son, and other loved ones who have gone before her.  Mary Lou had a sweet shyness about her with a beautiful soul and will be greatly missed by her three living children, twelve grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
Her family will forever be grateful for the incredible love and care shown to Mary Lou at Sunset View Manor by Maria, her caregivers, as well as Hospice of the West.

Dick loved going back to Wisconsin to spend time with his family and friends.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, horseshoes, bingo, going to the casino and of course a good game of sheep head.  He had many hobbies but like his Uncle Freddie he really enjoyed coaching the Packers, Diamondbacks, Suns, Nascar to name a few from the comfort of his favorite recliner.  Dick was a lifelong member of the WELS Church, and he attended Emmaus Lutheran Church since 1976 where he served as an elder.
Dick was preceded in the next life by his parents, Alfred and Olga Toetz, brother-in-law Dave Jagdfeld.  He is survived by his wife, Linda Sue (Schnell) Toetz; daughters Tammy Rodgers (William Bishop) and Tara (Don) Willoby; grandchildren Taylor (Mason) Smith, Brook Willoby, Wesley Willoby (Kendra Hutchison), and Colton Rodgers; great grandchildren, Micah and Asher Smith and Ryleigh Willoby; siblings, Leonard (Ann) Toetz, Sandra Jagdfeld, Marilyn (Steve) Barrett, Barbara (Mike) Konrad, and David (Joan) Toetz.
A Celebration of Life for Dick will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2022 (Dick & Linda’s 62nd Wedding Anniversary) at Emmaus Lutheran Church 3841 W. Sweetwater Avenue, Phoenix, AZ.  Service officiated by Pastor Ross Else, and a luncheon to follow.  Cremation has taken place.
In remembrance of Dick’s Confirmation March 29, 1953, Pastor Pieper gave him the following bible verse.  Psalm 23:4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. Please join Dick's family and friends in sharing memories, stories, photos or videos on Dick's tribute wall at www.caminodelsol.com
