Christopher Wayne Nichols - March 17, 1991 - April 16, 2024

Departed: 04/16/2024 (Rush Springs)
Obituary Preview: Christopher Wayne Nichols passed away peacefully in his hometown of Chickasha, Oklahoma, on April 16, 2024. Born on March 17, 1991, in the very same town, Christopher's life was a tapestry of hard work, family devotion, and the simple joys that make a life well-lived.
Christopher was the cherished son of Chris and Sherri Nichols and grew up alongside his siblings, Lyle Karcher, Greg Nichols, Grant Nichols, and Lea Barnes. Each of them shared a unique bond with Christopher, one that was built on laughter, support, and countless memories that they will hold close to their hearts forever.
A proud graduate of Rush Springs Schools, Christopher's education laid the foundation for his strong work ethic. He took great pride in his work as a Truck Cleaner, a job that not only showcased his handy nature but also his commitment to excellence in every task he undertook.
Those who knew Christopher understood that his truest passions lay outside the confines of his work. He was an avid fisherman, often found with a line in the water, waiting patiently for the next big catch. This love of fishing was only matched by his dedication to his family and friends, with whom he spent countless cherished moments. Christopher's laughter was a frequent and welcome sound during these gatherings, as he loved nothing more than making memories with those he held dear.
Christopher's love for music was another cornerstone of his life. It provided a soundtrack to many of the moments he shared with his beloved children, Atticus Nichols, Charissa Nichols, and Jaylissa Brown. Whether it was a quiet evening at home or a lively family road trip, music was always there to enhance the experience. Christopher's children will always remember their father's joy as he shared his favorite songs with them, a joy that will continue to resonate in their hearts.
A man of many interests, Christopher also found pleasure in the bright lights and excitement of the casino, the strategic play of a good game of pool, and the immersive stories of watching movies. Each of these activities brought a spark to Christopher's eye and a smile to his face, a smile that was infectious to all around him.
Described as handy by everyone who knew him, Christopher had a talent for fixing things, a skill he often used to help those he loved. His ability to solve problems with his hands was a physical manifestation of his broader desire to improve the lives of those around him. Whether it was a broken toy or a friend in need of support, Christopher was always there, ready to lend a hand.
Christopher's legacy is one of love, laughter, and the enduring strength of family. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on through the lives of his children, the stories shared by his siblings, and the indelible mark he left on the community of Chickasha. A Memorial Service will be held, on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 3:00 pm at the Full Gospel Church at: 722 N 10th St, Chickasha, OK 73018

Ruby Lee Teel - May 22, 1930 - September 07, 2020

Departed: 09/07/2020 (Rush Springs)
Obituary Preview: Ruby Lee (Kerr) Teel, age 90, of Rocky Ford, Oklahoma passed away at her home, with her family by her side on Monday, September 7, 2020. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, September 11, 2020, at the Southern Baptist Church in Rush Springs, with Rev. Paul Phipps officiating. Burial will be in the Rush Springs Cemetery under the direction of Callaway-Smith-Cobb Chapel in Rush Springs.
Ruby was born to C.C. (Carlton) and Ruth (Gilbreath) Kerr on May 22, 1930 at Ninnekah, Oklahoma. Ruby had one sister, Erma and four brothers, Derrell, John, Leonard, and Yule Kerr.
Ruby married the love of her life, L.E. (Tommy) Teel on August 24, 1950. They were married for almost 62 years until Tommy's passing in July of 2012. Ruby and Tommy had 3 children, Dan Teel, David Teel, and Nancy Teel.
Ruby was no stranger to hard work. When she and Tommy bought their house and 80 acres at Rocky Ford in 1960, they planted and raised 2 acres of tomatoes for the next five years to help pay for the place. Tommy worked for Oklahoma Natural Gas so the tomato field work was primarily done by Ruby and the two boys, Dan and David. When the tomatoes ripened, Ruby would pick them and Dan and David would carry the bushel baskets from the field for her. The boys remember that on one particular day, Ruby picked 75 bushels of tomatoes by herself! Ruby, Tommy, and the kids also raised bottle calves and eventually maintained a herd of cattle. While Tommy was away at work for ONG, much of the farm work fell to Ruby and the boys to take care of. Ruby was adept at feeding cattle, building fence, making repairs inside and outside the house and any other job that needed doing, all the while raising two boys and taking care of their special needs daughter, Nancy.
Ruby learned how to crochet and knit at an early age and was well known in the Rocky Ford and Rush Springs area for the beautiful crochet work she produced. She could look at a crocheted item and then go home and reproduce that work without a pattern. She also designed several crochet patterns and published some of them in a crochet magazine. After her children were grown, she also started working in many other craft areas, with doll making, and bead work being of primary interest to her. There wasn't much, if anything, that she couldn't do.
Ruby is survived by her two sons and their wives, Dan and Marilyn Teel of Cement, David and Becky Teel of Rockyford. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren: Amy Blythe and husband Aaron of Cement, Shelly Conley and husband Charles of Rush Springs, Shane Teel and wife Lauren of Chickasha, and Jerry Teel of Cement, six great-grandchildren, Ashly Nye and husband Josh of Lindsay, Tyler Conley of Rush Springs, Emily Teel of Chickasha, Aiden Teel of Chickasha, Briar Blythe of Cement, Hunter Blythe of Cement, and two great-great grandchildren, Langston Nye of Lindsay and Logan Nye of Lindsay. Ruby is also survived by one brother, John Kerr of Sterling, sister-in-law, Mary Teel of Moore, and three brother-in-law, Dearl Teel of Ninnekah, Luther Teel and wife Janet of Collinsville, OK, Troyce Speigel of Lubbock, TX, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy, daughter, Nancy, parents, Carlton and Ruth Kerr, sister, Erma Speigel, and brothers, Derrell Kerr, Leonard Kerr, and Yule Kerr.
