Anthony's formative years in Bayonne were the foundation of a life characterized by commitment and passion. He pursued higher education at the University of Dayton before furthering his studies at Pace University, where he honed the knowledge and skills that would serve him throughout his life.
Anthony dedicated 28 years of service to the Bayonne Fire Department followed by many years as a 9-1-1 dispatcher for the City of Bayonne. With a heart as large as his smile, his years of service is a testament to his unwavering bravery and desire to serve his community. His colleagues remember him as a man of integrity and camaraderie, always ready to extend a helping hand or share a word of encouragement.
Anthony's life was blessed with love and joy through his marriage to the late Joan Manno (Stukart). Together, they raised a beautiful family, including sons Marc and Daniel, and daughters Jill Ward (Neil) and Amy Gajewski (Brian). Although he was predeceased by his beloved wife and sons, his legacy continues through his daughters and grandchildren Jessica, Marc Jr. (Linda), Kristy (Ayvan), Ashley, Vincent (Desiree), Danielle, Jordan, Ava, Emma, and Charlotte, and great-grandchildren Avian, Kaydence, Vincent Jr. and Stella.
Anthony's love for his family was rivaled only by his passion for sports. An ardent supporter of the New York Yankees and the New York Giants, he found joy and excitement in every game. His enthusiasm for his teams was infectious, creating cherished memories during game day gatherings with family and friends.
As we honor the life of Anthony Manno, we remember a man of great character, warmth, and generosity. His presence enriched the lives of those around him, and his influence will be felt for generations to come. Anthony's departure leaves a void in the hearts of his loved ones, but they take comfort in knowing that his spirit will forever be a guiding light in their lives.

Joe is survived by a loving family that includes his wife the true love of his life, Kim Marie (nee Baran), his daughter Kaytlyn and her companion Jon Weitzel, his grandson Jon Joseph "JJ" Weitzel, his mother Anna, his brother Vincent and his wife Carole, his mother-in-law Patricia Baran, his father-in-law Donald "Red" Baran, his sister-in-law Patrice and her husband Sal Esposito, and his brothers-in-law Donald, Scott, and the late Brian Baran. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Lisa Baran, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and his fury friend Buster, who will all deeply miss his presence and cherish the memories they have of him. Joe was predeceased by his son, the late Joseph "Rocky" Caiola.
A proud graduate of Bayonne High School, Joe's commitment to his hometown was evident in his longstanding career with the Bayonne Board of Education. For over 48 years, he served as the Transportation Coordinator, a role in which he not only ensured the safe travels of countless children but also became a familiar and trusted face to students and parents alike. Joe's dedication to the Bayonne Board of Education Transportation Department was a testament to his character, reflecting his passion for his work and the community he served.
Joe's talents were many and varied. An avid motorcycle enthusiast, he was also a master fabricator, electrician, auto/motorcycle mechanic, and a true master of all trades. His hands were skilled, and his mind was sharp, allowing him to exceed expectations in every task he undertook. Perfection was not just a goal for Joe; it was a standard he lived by, a trait that earned him respect and admiration from all who knew him. Joe and his brother Vinny conquered life as a true team not only working side by side everyday, taking motorcycle trips together and always maintaining and fixing anything in their way. The “Caiola Boys” defined brotherhood.
Those who had the pleasure of knowing Joe would describe him as incredibly generous, exceptionally handy, and selflessly devoted to others. He was a man who gave without expecting anything in return, who fixed what was broken, not just mechanically but often in spirit, and who put the needs of others before his own. Joe's legacy is one of love, hard work, and an unwavering commitment to his family and community.
The void left by Joe's passing will be profoundly felt by all who were fortunate enough to experience his warmth, his laughter, and his kindness. While we mourn the loss of such a remarkable man, we also celebrate a life that was full of purpose and joy. Joe Caiola's story is one of a life well-lived and a man well-loved.

He was a cherished brother to Lisa Zelachowski (Michael), Renee Arntzen (John) and Nadine Dabrowski (John). He was a respected brother- in-law to Lori Sisk,
Kim Vulcano and Joe Vulcano. Doug was predeceased by his mother, Veronica Gelardi, his father Robert Sisk, his brother, Darren Sisk, and Elaine Vulcano. His legacy continues through his many nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and nephews, who will miss his friendly, intelligent, and funny presence in their lives. Doug’s career as firefighter was not just a job but a calling. He exemplified courage and stood as a pillar of strength and safety in the community he served as a Lieutenant in the Bayonne Fire Department. He was recognized for his outstanding service as a first responder at ground zero after the
devastating terrorist attack on 9/11.
Doug reveled in his sons’ achievements, whether cheering loudly from the sidelines at sports events or enjoying the melodies at band performances. He was their biggest supporter, instilling in them the value of perseverance and the importance of teamwork.
Doug was a man of diverse interests and talents. A true sports enthusiast, on and off the field, Doug's passion for the NY Mets and the Denver Broncos was well known. Had a love for being an GSSA Umpire (referred to by the players as “Dougie Out”) even though he was one of the fairest and accurate umpires. Billiards, playing cards with family, and attending Broadway shows spoke to his zest for life and entertainment. Doug also found joy in the excitement of horseracing and the fun of singing karaoke with family and friends. Doug a double transplant organ recipient was sent a miracle that allowed him to live this zestful life. Through a selfless act from a family at a most devasting time of tragedy, Doug was blessed with fourteen more years. Knowing Doug, he is already searching heaven for his angel, Jahira to tell her, THANK YOU!
Those who knew Doug would describe him as the life of the party, a man who brought laughter and light-heartedness wherever he went. Pierina was born in the picturesque town of Fragneto L'Abate, Benevento, Italy, on September 20, 1931. Along with her husband and two children, she migrated from Italy in hopes of a better life in America. She worked for 25 years at King James Nursing Home until her retirement to care for her grandchildren who were very dear to her. Her hobbies included gardening, cooking, and taking walks around her quaint neighborhood. Pierina also had a knack for crocheting blankets. Her creations were expressions of her love and affection. These blankets, often gifted to friends, family, and her grand-doggy Bella, will remain as cherished keepsakes, reminding the recipients of Pierina's warmth and generosity.
In her passing, Pierina leaves behind a legacy of strength, love, and generosity. She showed us all that a life lived with kindness, resilience, and loved ones is a life well-lived.

He is also survived by his maternal aunt Irene and uncle Edward DePersis and several cousins. John graduated from Johnson City High School in 1960 and earned a BA degree from SUNY Albany, 1964. John taught at Johnson City High School where he coached the wrestling team. He served in the US Army in Vietnam as an HR specialist. John held several human resource positions over the years, and retired from Maimonides Medical Center, Brooklyn, New York. John was passionate about tennis and always tickled pink when he and his doubles partner beat much younger players. He also enjoyed cooking and was an enthusiastic fan of the Food Network. An avid reader, John was always suggesting "good reads" and served as an adult literacy volunteer at various times. John attended St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church and St. Henry's Catholic Church, Bayonne. John's family would like to thank the medical and nursing staff at Jersey City Medical Center CCCU and ER staff at Beth Israel, Newark for their compassionate care. She was born Princess Maria Valguarnera di Niscemi on November 29, 1931, in Palermo, Sicily, to Corrado Valguarnera, Principe di Niscemi, and Margaret Hirsh. Mimi enjoyed a palace childhood in Palermo and moved during the war to attend the Convent of the Sacred Heart in Overbrook, Philadelphia, near her mother's place of birth. Her cousin was Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa, author of The Leopard. Before settling in New York, she studied jewelry design in Philadelphia, Paris, and Wichita. In 1971, she married her husband of 31 years, HIH Prince Alexander of Russia, great-nephew of Czar Nicholas II. In 1973, the couple moved into a duplex on Fifth Avenue that would become her lifetime home. Mrs. Romanoff was an internationally known designer of women's costume jewelry, and her jewelry and accessories graced the covers of Vogue and Harper's Bazaar in the 1960s and 70s. The Mimi di N Design belt buckles are classics, with collectors across the globe, and she created jewelry for many well-known women, including Jacqueline Onassis and the Duchess of Windsor. Anyone who knew Mimi well, will remember her astute and creative intelligence and assured aristocratic manner. She was preceded in death by her husband in 2002, and last year by her sister, Margherita Valguarnera Niscemi. Her executor will announce a Mass and reception in the coming weeks.

Obituary Preview: Michael R. Dubivsky, 85, of Bayonne passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at Juniper Village Assisted Living in Chatham, NJ from acute respiratory failure after a battle with dementia.
Michael was born and raised in Bayonne by his parents, the late Michael and Anna Dubivsky (Sivanic). He is predeceased by his brother, Peter (Anne), and sister, Maryann Preziosi (Guido).
Michael served proudly in the United States Army. After serving, he worked for Coca-Cola and as a school maintenance worker for Bayonne public schools. He was a devoted member of St. Mary’s Orthodox Church in Bayonne.
Michael enjoyed watching old classic movies, doing word puzzles and walking everywhere, especially to his favorite place to eat: Alex & Terry’s Corner Deli. But his favorite thing of all was going on cruises to destinations all around the world.
Although Michael never married, there was no shortage of family who loved and cared for him. He was known to most as “Uncle Mickey.” He is survived by his five nieces: C. Susan McCandless (Donald), Diane Smith (Randall), Patricia Hannon (John), Barbara Preziosi (Robert), and Ellen Ulaszek (David). He is predeceased by his nephew, Lawrence Dubivsky.
Michael is also survived by his great nieces and nephews: Christina Hannon Luehring (Andy), Lindsay McCandless Marrero (Efren), Jessica Hannon Clough (Ste), D. Gregory McCandless, Zachary Smith, Katherine Ulaszek Weivoda (Ian), and Rachel Ulaszek.
Michael was lucky enough to know of his great-grand nieces and nephews: Franklin and Benjamin Marrero, John Luehring, and Lily Clough.
Visitation will be held Friday, September 29, 2023, from 8:30am - 10:30am at Koch Funeral Home, 691 Avenue C, Bayonne, NJ. Funeral service will immediately follow, from 10:30am - 11:30am. Interment will take place at Rosedale Cemetery in Linden.

Allan was fortunate to have survived for almost two years after suffering sudden cardiac arrest in November of 2021 thanks to the keen awareness of the McCabe Ambulance crew who spotted him on the sidewalk while driving down the boulevard.
Allan enjoyed his many years of service at Interpool of NY as an Internal Security Inspector as well as his after retirement position as groundskeeper at Bayview Cemetery in Jersey City.
He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Joseph & Veronica (Americk) Kasper, his paternal grandparents, Andrew and Anna (Kenda) Koval and parents Stephen and Margaret (Kasper) Koval. Allan is survived by his sister, Janet Sedlak, nieces Kelly & Michelle Sedlak, nephew Brian Sedlak and his wife, Jennifer, his grand-nephew, Charlie Sedlak and many of his cousins who were his first and lifelong friends.

This allowed her to be home with them. She later moved on to work as a Customer Service Representative for the Oticon Corporation in Somerset, NJ, where she retired in her early 70's. Claire enjoyed Giants football and Mets baseball. She was a big sports enthusiast. She loved the holidays, decorating and baking. She adored her family and was happiest when spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Claire is survived by her Son Frank Piazza and Daughter In Law Donna Piazza of Somerville NJ, her daughter Gina Piazza Hodes and husband Steve Hodes of Ringwood NJ. Grandchildren Jordan and Gianna Hodes of Ringwood NJ, Frankie Piazza of Somerville NJ and Amanda and Steve Brisson of Somerville NJ. Several cousins, nieces and nephews. Patricia is survived by her three children: Kasandra Lopez-Garcia and her husband Luis Garcia; William Lopez and his wife Phyllis Lopez; and Maria Lopez Cintron and her husband Pete Cintron. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren: Kimberly Garcia Romero and her husband Michael; Lorenzo Seda; Alanna Valerio-Lopez and her wife Lorhena; Lusandra and Lucas Garcia; and Aaron and Cameron Cintron. Her great-grandchildren, Mason and Maverick Romero. All who brought her immense joy. Patricia was predeceased by her loving husband of 23 years, John Seda, as well as her stepson, John Seda Jr. Her brothers, James and Steve Fraser, also preceded her in death.
After dedicating herself to being a full-time mother and caregiver, Patricia embarked on a career as a bank teller and later retired from customer service at Verizon. In her leisure time, she found solace in her hobbies of crocheting and photography. Patricia's Etsy business, Hooked and Stitched, thrived as she shared her crafted creations with others.

Carol's lifelong friend, Diana Dzbenski, held a special place in her life, as did her many great nieces and nephews.
Carol spent many years as a babysitter, nurturing and caring for countless children within her community. She also worked at the Prodigy Learning and Day Care Center. Carol's dedication to the well-being and growth of children was a testament to her selfless nature and immense capacity for love.
Carol's interests were simple and heartfelt. She enjoyed spending time with her family, creating memories that will be cherished by all who knew her. Her love for her family was evident in everything she did, and her home was always filled with laughter, warmth, and love.

Frances was born in El Progresso, Honduras to Candida and Tomas Rodriguez on the 4th of June, 1945. She was the youngest of 13 siblings. When she was only 20 years old, she immigrated to the United States to start a new life. It was during her time in night school that she met her future husband, Reynaldo Massa Sr. They married on the 23rd of March 1974.
During her life, Frances worked at the Anthony House women’s shelter in Jersey City. In her later years, she spent her time caring for her children and later her grandchildren.
Frances loved to dance, and was the life of every party. She will be remembered for her vibrant personality and her infectious joy. She lived life unapologetically and was never afraid to stand for what she believed in. Her heart knew no bounds and she loved the world around her with all that she had.
Above all, Frances was known for her selflessness. She dedicated her life to the care of her family and others. She went out of her way constantly to help those in any way that they needed. Whether it was providing a place to stay, or simply cooking a hot meal, Frances was always there.
Frances will continue to live on through her three sons, Reynaldo Jr and his wife Leocadia., Marco and his wife Donika, and Roberto and his wife Melissa as well as her six grandchildren: Alyssa, Jessica, Ava, Gabriella, Jason, and Isabella.

She is survived by her sisters-in-law Giuseppina Reina (nee: Cutro), Maria Barone (nee: Cutro) and Teresina Cutro all from Sicily, Italy. Margherita is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, both in the US and in Italy, and many cousins, relatives and friends.
Margherita's family was her world and she was the heart of theirs. Her love for her family was boundless and her dedication to those she cared for was unwavering. She loved to cook, bake and sew and loved to spend time with her family and friends.
Margherita was a talented seamstress in Bayonne, NJ where she lived for many years and later worked as a teacher's aid at a local day care center also in Bayonne.
Those who knew Margherita would describe her as loving, selfless and always smiling. She had a heart that was always ready to give and a spirit that was always ready to serve. She was a devout parishioner at our Lady of Assumption church and her faith truly defined who she was. Margherita's passion was evident in everything she did, her dedication and precision were a reflection of her creativity, diligence and kind heart.
Margherita Cutro will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Assunta was born in Torrecuso, Italy on February 3, 1941, to Agostino and Carmela (nee Martaruolo) Viola. In 1963, she married her husband of 60 years, Michael Fusco. A short time later, they immigrated to the United States and settled in Summit where they raised their family.
Assunta spent her career working in the bakery department at the local Kings Supermarket. Always on her feet and ready to help, she was recognized for her incredible work ethic, diligence, and boundless energy by colleagues and customers. After 25 years, she retired to focus on her life’s greatest passion - being a full-time Nonna to her four grandchildren.
Assunta was best known for ability to nurture her friends and family through food. She made everyone feel welcome to pull a seat up to her table, where she would share stories, traditions, and wisdom. She would cook five-star versions of any dish with just a few simple ingredients (and no recipe, of course). Most importantly, she brought joy to all those around her beyond making sure no one ever left her presence hungry.
Assunta is survived by her beloved husband Michael Fusco; loving daughters Carmela (David) Farrell and Patricia (Chuck) Wissen; dear grandchildren Natalie Farrell, Michael Farrell, Charlie Wissen, and Katie Wissen; and many long time family and friends. She is predeceased by her sister Anna (nee Viola) Fusco and brother Angelo Viola.
The visitation will be held at Bradley, Brough & Dangler Funeral Home on Morris Avenue in Summit, NJ on Thursday, June 29th from 4 to 8 PM. A Funeral mass will be held at 9:30 AM at St. Teresa’s of Avila Church followed by interment at St. Teresa of Avila Cemetery.
