Joseph "Joe" Paradis - February 15, 1948 - April 29, 2024

Obituary Preview: JOSEPH “JOE” PARADIS, 76 of Menominee passed away on April 29 at home with his wife and extended family by his side. Joe was born on February 15, 1948 in Drummondville, Quebec, Canada to Paul and Yvette (Montminy) Paradis. Joe proudly served his Country in the United States Air Force from May 2, 1967 until being honorably discharged on April 30, 1971. In the Air Force, Joe was a part of the drum corps and ski team. On August 14, 1981, Joe married the former Barbara Johnson at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Birch Creek. He worked for 25 years at Fish Net & Twine as a purchasing agent and retired from Silvan Industries. Joe continued his love for drumming in many local bands and was best known for his time with the Elmer Z Bushog band. Joe loved photography and photographed over 50 shows at the Theatre on the Bay in the 1970’s and also did wedding photography. He also expressed his creativity through stained glass, metal and woodwork, and many “inventions”. Joe enjoyed the company of dogs and was an avid birdwatcher. Most of all, Joe loved spending time with his wife at their camp "An Acre of Paradis”. Joe was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church and West Shore Fishing Museum
Survivors include his loving wife: Barb of Menominee; 2 sisters-in-law: Noreen Johnson and Sandy (Fred) Gignac both of Menominee; 2 brothers-in-law: Mickey (Barb) Johnson and Carl (Joy) Johnson both of Menominee; nieces, nephews and friends.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents: Paul and Yvette; and sister, Mary Paradis.
Visitation for Joe will be held at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Birch Creek on Friday, May 3, from 10:00 until time of Mass of Christian Burial at noon with Father Abraham Mupparathara presiding, followed by a lunch at the church. Burial will be in the Cedarville Township Cemetery. The Cadieu Funeral Home is assisting Joe’s family with arrangements.
Memorials may be made to West Shore Fishing Museum. The family wishes to thank UP Health Services, especially Dr. Carlson, Angel, Clara, Jasmine, and Jackie.

Lanis Ann Roggendorf - August 24, 1951 - April 28, 2024

Obituary Preview: LANIS ANN ROGGENDORF, 72 of Menominee passed away on Sunday April 28, 2024 at Aurora Medical Center – Bay Area in Marinette following a courageous 7-year battle with cancer. Lanis Ann Motto was born on August 24, 1951 in Menominee to Ralph and Evelyn (Matz) Motto. On January 30, 1972, Lanis married Kenneth Roggendorf. She was a graduated of Menominee High School and later received her LPN from Northern Michigan University. Lanis worked for St. Joseph Lloyd Hospital in Menominee and Marinette General Hospital in Marinette. She enjoyed socializing with her nursing friends and enjoyed cooking at which she was very good at. Lanis was a member of Christ Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years: Ken of Menominee; son: Brian of Menominee; 2 grandchildren: Bryanna and Alexis; and 3 great grandchildren: Keeland, Axle and Alakai.
Lanis was preceded in death by her parents: Ralph and Evelyn.
Visitation for Lanis will be held at Christ Lutheran on Monday May 6, 2024 from 4:00 pm until time of Funeral Service at 6:00 pm with Reverend Paul Cole officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. The Cadieu Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Obituary Preview: Jilaine J. Jenkins, 63, of Marquette, died unexpectedly Saturday morning, April 27, 2024, at her home. She was born January 3, 1961, in Menominee, a daughter of the late Raymond and Patricia (Grabowski) Jenkins. She was raised there and was a 1979 Menominee High School graduate. Jilaine loved to cook and worked at various restaurants including Hardees, where she was employed for more than 20 years. She was a former member of the Eagles and VFW Women's Auxiliary. She enjoyed BINGO, gardening, was an avid Green Bay Packers and NASCAR fan and spending time with her grandchildren.
Jilaine is survived by her life partner, Jeff Alanen of Marquette; children, Heather (Jason) DeMenter of Escanaba, Michael (Shayna) Hohl of Menominee and Tyler Larson of Marinette, WI; step-daughter, Ann Alanen of Ishpeming; grandchildren, Jonathan, Lucas, Lincoln, Oliver and Emery; siblings, Michael (Kathy Adamson) Jenkins of Wisconsin and Jana (Paul) Foote of Menominee; nieces, Jacinda Jenkins and Jenna Nielson; and good friend, Frog; and her pets, her dog Bandit and cat Bella. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Linda.
Visitation will be held Thursday May 2nd from 4:00 to 6:00 pm with a memorial service at 6:00 pm at Cadieu Funeral Home, 549 10th Avenue, Menominee, MI with Deacon Steve Gretzinger officiating.

Obituary Preview: JAMES “SNEAKS” PETERSON, 70 of Menominee, MI passed away with family at his side on Friday April 26, 2024 at Aurora Bay Care Medical Center in Green Bay. He was born on April 11, 1954 in Menominee to John “Jack” and Doris (Kuhnle) Peterson. Sneaks graduated from Menominee High School in 1972. He loved animals and enjoyed his Great Dane and Sheepdog. Sneaks lived in Hawaii for a year and cherished the time he spent there.
Survivors include his brother: Gary (Karen) Peterson of Marinette, twin brother: John Peterson of Menominee and sister: Debra (Denis) Vieth of Marinette; along with many nieces, nephews and his special friend: Pam Peterson.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Jack and Doris Peterson; brother: Ronald Peterson; and sister: Dianne Peterson.
Per Sneak’s request, a private graveside service will be held in Riverside Cemetery with Deacon Steve Gretzinger officiating. The Cadieu Funeral Home is assisting the Peterson family with arrangements.

Joan Lillian Bebo was born on August 24, 1936 in Menominee to Joseph and Lillian Bebo. On September 11, 1954, Joan married Antone “Tony” Przewrocki. Joan worked for Fred & Chuck’s Restaurant and later for St. Joseph Lloyd Hospital and retired from Marinette General Hospital. She later worked as a crossing guard at 10th and 10th in Menominee and as a Juvenile Detention Chaperon. Joan enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, watching the Detroit Lions, Chicago Cubs, going to the casino and watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren play sports.
Survivors include her children: Linda (Jim) Tharp, Tony (Nancy) Przewrocki, Lori (Pat) Ebsch, Mike (Danielle) Przewrocki and Kevin (Shelley) Przewrocki; grandchildren: Lisa Barstow, Jim Tharp, Corrine Thomas, Christine Thomas, Jessy Przewrocki, Brandon Przewrocki, Katie Przewrocki, Aden Przewrocki and Zella Przewrocki; great grandchildren: Brittany Barstow, Ashton Barstow, Bryce Tharp, Kennedy Tharp, Jaeden Alber, Henry Przewrocki, Levi Przewrocki, and Isabelle DeLaet; brother: Joe (Lynette) Brosig; sisters: Evy Bennette and Joyce Lehner; nieces and nephews.
Joan was preceded in death by her father: Joseph Bebo; mother: Lillian Brosig; husband: Tony; and brother: Eugene Bebo.

Patrick Alan Barrette - February 24, 1949 - April 12, 2024

Obituary Preview: Patrick Alan Barrette, 75 unexpectedly passed away on April 12, 2024 in Menominee, MI. He was born to the late Robert and Carol Barrette on February 24, 1949.
Pat led a remarkable life filled with passion and purpose. He was a loving husband, father, brother and friend whose kindness and generosity touched the lives of many. Pat married Rayleen on February 25, 1967 and raised their four children in Menominee, MI. The Barrette family was well known for their exceptional restaurant, “Pat and Rayleens,” where they served the community for 30 years. They later ventured to open another establishment, “Barrette’s Food and Spirits”, across the bridge. Pat was a lifetime member of the Emergency Rescue Squad for nearly 30 years. Two of his children Brian and Tina, along with his brother all served together on the Rescue Squad. Four family members have never served together on the squad, making the Barrette family the first to do so. Pat exemplified dedication, loyalty and hard work spending the last 15 years of his life, doing what he loved, driving semi-truck, for Veriha Trucking.
He survived by his wife Rayleen; four children: Sheila Potkay; Tina (Rod) Barber, Brian (Jodie) Barrette; and Jaime (Warren) Ross; along with grandchildren: Trevor, Jared, Justin, Ethan, Brittany, Briana, Brooke, Brock, Brennan, Vera and Elsa; and great grandchildren: Mason, Landen, Axten, Lincoln, and Amelia, many brothers and sisters, and many other friends and family.
Patrick was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Carol Barrette, along with his beloved pets Thumper and Abby.
Pat will be remembered for his integrity, loyalty and love for his family. Per his wishes there with not be a traditional service. The family will have a celebration of life service at a later time. The Cadieu Funeral Home is assisting the Barrette family with arrangements.

Gerald "Jerry" Grosschadle - April 12, 1931 - April 12, 2024

Obituary Preview: GERALD H. GROSSCHADLE, 93 of Menominee passed away peacefully at his home, on his 93rd birthday, April 12, 2024. Jerry was born on April 12, 1931 in Ingalls, MI to Herman Grosschadle and Ida Swanson. He proudly served his Country in the United States Army as a Sergeant during the Korean War. On July 3, 1954, Jerry married the former Sherril A. Simon at St. Mark Lutheran Church in Greenwoods. He worked as a lineman for Public Service until his retirement in 1993. Jerry enjoyed being a snowbird, spending winters in Arizona. He further enjoyed his dogs, camping with his family, gardening, a cold beer at the Schooner and Sundays at Perkins with the girls. Jerry was a longtime faithful member of Christ Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his 5 children: Vicki Lange of Marinette, Peggy (Bill) LaValley of Saginaw, TX, Jay (Lori) Grosschadle of Green Bay, Pamela Grosschadle of Menominee and Amy Dion of Menominee; 9 grandchildren: Bruce Lange, Michael Lange, Brian Lange, Christopher Lange, Bill (Susan) LaValley Jr. Steven LaValley, Ryan LaValley, Tara Lane and Jacob Grosschadle; 13 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents: Herman and Ida; wife: Sherril; sister: Carol Wozniak; and son in law: Pete Dion.
Visitation will be held at Christ Lutheran Church in Menominee on Sunday April 21, 2024 from 1:00 pm until time of Memorial Service at 2:00 pm with Reverend Paul Cole officiating. Obituary Preview: NORMA FURTON PEPIN of Menominee passed away on April 12, 2024 at the age of 94. She was born to Elsie and Tim Hill in Croswell, MI. Norma was outgoing and loved to talk and laugh. She enjoyed gardening and had the most beautiful yard of flowers on 14th Avenue. She also loved to knit and knitted 18 pair of mittens one Christmas for the kids in her extended family.
Norma is survived by her daughters: Monna Peterson and Corey Furton; grandchildren: Luke (Katy) Peterson, Vicky Bergeson, Jordan (Stephanie) Peterson; and Courtney Peterson; sisters: Noreen Stephenson, Judy Hill and Paula Rasmussen; brothers: Paul and Pete Marsack; 4 stepchildren including Wendy Pepin to whom she was very close; good friends: Cindy and Josey Tenarvitz and the Malone kids.
Norma was preceded in death by her husbands: Truman “Monk” Furton and George Pepin; her son: Kenneth Furton; grandson: Joey Peterson; son in law: Jim Peterson; brother: Gene Hill; and stepchildren: Bruce and Terry Pepin.

Obituary Preview: Dale Otto Frank, 77, of Ingalls, Mich. passed away peacefully at Aurora Bay Area Medical Center on Friday, April 12, 2024 surrounded by his family. He was born March 21, 1947 in Daggett, Mich. to the late Otto and Valetta (Cline) Frank. On September 4, 1965 he married Donna Roberts in Daggett, Mich. Dale worked at Menominee Paper as a Supervisor then at KSU as the Sleeve Plant manager.
Dale was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church. He enjoyed big-game hunting with a particular love of whitetail deer. Dale and Donna traveled together on his motorcycle, logging over 100,000 miles on cross-country trips across North America. They also enjoyed world travel to destinations such as Australia, New Zealand, Italy, and France. They have had a love of Dobermans that has lasted for over 35 years. Dale had a special talent for woodworking and an eye for craftsmanship. He was a family man above all else, and through the years his home was always the focal point around holidays and family gatherings.
Dale is survived by his wife Donna of 59 years; son Dale Allen (Ann) Frank of Grand Blanc, MI ; daughter Gina (Richard) Neta of Lena, WI.; 4 grandchildren Ian (Molly) Hazen, Kyle Hazen, Wesley (Simran) Frank and Maxwell Frank; 2 great-granddaughters Charlie Ann Hazen and Emilia Lynn Hazen.
Dale was preceded in death by his daughter Amy Frank, brother Eugene Frank and sister Judy Hoheneder.
Visitation for Dale will be on Wednesday, April 24th at Anderson-Diehm Funeral Home beginning at 10:00am until 11:45am. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 12:00 noon at Precious Blood Catholic Church with Fr. Ben Rivard officiating. Burial will be in Mellen Township Cemetery.

John Barry Baker - August 27, 1944 - April 10, 2024

Obituary Preview: John Barry Baker, 79 of Menominee, MI passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday April 10, 2024.
John was born in Oxford, England in 1944 to Vera (Peg) and LeRoy (Lee) Baker.
He was a 1963 graduate of Menominee High School. John entered the US Army right out of high school.
John cared a lot for his community. He served as Mayor of Menominee, a member of the City Council and volunteered on a number of sub committees relating to city government.
John and his wife, Connie, owned and operated The Downtown Sandwich Shoppe for 46 years, retiring in 2014.
John was an avid reader with many, many different interests. He loved to travel. A relaxing day for John was to get on one of his motorcycles and hit the road.
His absolute favorite pastime was watching his grandkids excel in sports. He was so proud of the three of them.
John is survived by his loving wife Connie, daughter Amber (Dale) Olsen, grandchildren Drew, Kadyn and Ty Olsen all of Menominee. Sister, Lynn (Bruce) Clark of Gulf Breeze, FL and sister-in-law, Glenda Mathews also of Menominee.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Mike Baker, brother-in-law John and nephew Todd Mathews.
A Celebration of Life will be held in conjunction with his brother, Mike, on June 7th.

Nancy Lee Albert was born on October 13, 1947 in Menominee to Peter and Esther (Block) Albert. On July 26, 1986, Nancy married Fred Ewaldt in Menominee. Nancy worked as a cost accountant for Great Lakes Foods for many years. She was an avid reader and further enjoyed going for car rides looking for wildlife, quilting and watching Hallmark Christmas movies.
Survivors include her husband: Fred; children: Rhonda Anderson, Thomas (Kris) Retlick, Amy Ewaldt and Sarah Ewaldt; grandchildren: Skyler Moon, Zane Anderson, Alissa Retlick, Breanna Retlick and Keegan Retlick; sister: Barbara Albert; and brothers: Glenn (June) Albert and David (Rose) Albert.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents: Peter and Esther; brother: James; sisters: Arlene and Lois; and infant sister: Sandy.

Mary Elizabeth Couzens - September 09, 1928 - April 06, 2024

Obituary Preview: After 95 years of loving, Mary Couzens passed on peacefully in the early morning of April 6, 2024 in her Menominee, Michigan home.
Born on September 9, 1928 to Margaret and Frank Couzens, Mary spent her youth in Detroit, growing up in a large, active family with six siblings: Frank, Peggy, Jim, Barbara, Skip and George.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather Gerard Slattery, her siblings and their spouses. She is survived by her sister-in-law Linda Couzens, stepsister Patricia Quail, and extended family of at least three generations from the east to the west, the north and south in the United States, Canada and Europe. Mary leaves her family and many friends a legacy of her love, ongoing care and generosity.
Mary’s life was marked with decades-long commitment to selfless giving that carried through her studies and careers from the Girl Scouts of America to the Wabeek Shelties Kennel, but most of all to family and friends. She prepared well for her careers, earning her high school degree from the Academy of the Sacred Heart, Detroit; Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Manhattanville College, New York; and a Master’s in Social Work from Wayne State University, Detroit.
While still active with the Girl Scouts, Mary established the Wabeek Shelties Kennel. Mary was always most grateful to those who handled her beloved Shetland Sheepdogs, many of whom became Champions. A local and the National Shetland Sheepdog Association will honor Mary at their next conferences.
Words really cannot adequately describe her enthusiasm for the Green Bay Packers. She loved to talk, but not when her Packers were playing.
Mary’s adventuresome and independent path took her to Europe, Canada, New York, Illinois and back to Michigan, settling in Menominee, her happy place, for more than half her life. Mary loved the Upper Peninsula and the friends she made.
Especially in her final years, she was wrapped in amazing care and support, enabling her to continue to live in her own home.
Mary’s family is most grateful to her dear friend Sharon Kass, UP Health System Hospice, friends and staff at The Harbors Retirement Community and JemCare who surrounded Mary with the utmost compassionate care. Funeral services will be held in honor of Mary on Monday, April 22, 2024. Michael was born on December 18, 1972 to the late Duane and MaryAnn (Menor) Hubbard in Marinette, WI. He attended Marinette High School. Michael later married the former Chastidy Wendt on February 13, 1998 in Marinette. He worked at Waupaca Foundry for 27 years. Michael loved doing projects around the house, getting together with his family, going camping, spending time outdoors, four-wheeling, and playing hockey. Michael was a loving friend who was always ready to lend a hand.
Michael is survived by his wife: Chastidy; two daughters: Nicole (Benjamin) Walkowiak and Brice (Mathew) Statezny; four grandchildren: Logan, Maverick, Silas, and Emmet; two sisters: Lori (John) Serrano and Wendy (Steve) Beirs; step mother: Diane Hubbard; in-laws: Charles and Lynne Wendt; brother-in-law Chad Wendt and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Michael is preceded in death by his parents.

Barbara Ellen Gensler - November 30, 1940 - April 04, 2024

Obituary Preview: Barbara Ellen Gensler, 83, of Marinette, WI passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at Aurora Medical Center-Bay Area in Marinette. She was born on November 30, 1940 in Marinette, WI to the late Charles and Marion (Krantz) Donaldson. Barb graduated from Stephenson High School class of 1958. She married John Gensler on June 15, 1963 in Stephenson, MI. Barb worked as a merchandiser for the American Greetings Card Company. She could often be seen stocking cards at K-Mart and then Walmart. She was a member of The Zion Lutheran Church in Marinette.
Barb was an animal lover who enjoyed reading and going to craft shows. In the summer she liked planting flowers and sitting outside enjoying the weather. Barb also liked taking casino trips with family and friends.
In addition to her husband John of over 60 years, Barb is survived by her two sons, Jeff Gensler and Craig (Becky) Gensler, one brother, Curtis (Christine) Donaldson, her sweet grand dog Winston, and many special friends.
Honoring Barb’s wishes, private funeral services were held. Burial will be in the Mellen Township Cemetery in Wallace, MI. The Cadieu Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Obituary Preview: Mary Rose Compney, 72, passed away peacefully after a long and courageous battle with cancer on March 25th, 2024 at home surrounded by her loving family.
Mary was born February 23rd, 1952 to Charles and Lillian (Carriveau) Hayward in Marinette. Mary grew up on a farm and was a lover of all animals and nature. She attended St. Joseph’s elementary school and graduated from Marinette Catholic Central in 1972.
Mary worked as a school bus driver for 24 years for the Menominee School District where her bus kids lovingly called her “Miss. Mary '' and a Server at Schloegels for 26 years where she made many lifelong friends. Mary was a wonderful homemaker, a loving wife, mother and grandmother, always cooking, baking or canning yummy treats to share with her family and friends.
Growing up on a farm she gained a deep love for all animals, birds, and for gardening. Her happy place was in her back yard enjoying her feathered friends who frequented all her feeders. She took great pride in her yard and was always happy to show visitors her beautiful flower gardens. Mary and Mike lovingly restored a 1968 Camaro and spent many weekends attending car shows and taking cruises with their many dear car friends who became family. Mary was a vibrant, loving, and feisty little Irish lady who lived her life to the fullest making friends everywhere she went and she will be forever missed.
Mary is survived by her husband of 26 years, Mike, daughters Becky King (Jeremy Noggle), Melissa (Eric) Berg, Emily (Zach) Althaus. 8 grandchildren, Natalie and Olivia Roetzer, Evan, Bekham, Oliver, and Brynlee Berg, Harlow and Carson Althaus. Sister Kathleen (Greg) Egan, brother Charles Hayward, many nieces and nephews and her best friends Gloria and Larry Nord.
Per Mary’s wishes there will be no services and a Celebration of life will be held at a later date. Cadieu Funeral home is assisting the family.

He was a consultant on government regulations and an advisor to the fire department. Leonard was an active member at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Leonard is survived by his daughter: Lisa (David James) Stoll; one son: Mylan Moore; three grandchildren: Brittany (Tyler) Thrall, Devon Stoll, Kimberly Stoll; two great grandchildren: Brixton and Aiden; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Leonard was preceded in death by his parents Oro and Ethel; and his wife Elsa.

Valerie was born on January 7, 1936 in Chicago, IL to William and Evelyn (Anderson) Hallam. Valerie worked as a nurse at the Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Menominee County Lloyd Hospital in Menominee, and retired from Bay Area Medical Center in Marinette, WI. Proud of being a registered nurse, she kept her licenses current, having just renewed both her Michigan and Wisconsin nursing licenses. She was a lifelong learner, taking classes up until the time of her death. Valerie loved being outside and gardening. She enjoyed researching her family’s genealogy, even making a 12-day trip to Ireland where she visited places her grandfather had lived. She enjoyed attending the symphony, concerts, plays, and musicals. She was an avid reader and loved challenging crossword puzzles. She had a servant’s heart and loved to volunteer, serving in various capacities for many organizations, too many to name them all. Valerie was an active member of the American Legion and the Menominee Women’s Club. She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic church, where she gave communion at nursing homes when needed. She served as a Flotilla Commander for the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary serving for 17 years and was given four Commendation awards and two service awards, even participating in scuba diving exercises. She had been secretary of the M&M Amateur Radio Club, was a member of ARES/RACES, and had also served on the board of the American Heart Association. Valerie was a member of the Emergency Rescue Squad for 13+ years and was the first woman to be awarded The Joe Banach Award for Outstanding Rescue Squad Service. She continued to work numerous blood banks, being a multiple gallon blood donor herself. She will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she touched.
Valerie is survived by her 3 daughters: Karen (Jud), Ellen (Chris), and Diann (Uwe); son: Brian; 4 grandchildren: Jami, Eric, Amanda, and Chad; 8 great grandchildren; and her beloved dog: Diego.
Valerie was preceded in death by her parents: William and Evelyn; son: Scott; infant grandchild; and her dogs: Duke and Lucy.
A memorial celebration for Valerie will be held at the Menominee American Legion on Saturday August 3, 2024. The Cadieu Funeral Home is assisting the Hallam family with arrangements.

Obituary Preview: Donald Jon Rost (Donny), 74 of Wallace, MI passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2024 at Aurora Medical Center-Bay Area in Marinette, WI. Donny was born on September 7, 1949 in Crivitz, WI., to the late Donald and Elizabeth (Piasecki) Rost. He went on to graduate from Crivitz High School with the class of 1967. Donny married his partner for life in Judy Olsen on January 28, 1989 at the First United Methodist Church in Menominee, MI. They recently celebrated their 35th anniversary.
Donny loved nature and the environment and was known to raise wild baby animals that had been rejected by their mother, such as racoons and crows. Anyone visiting his home was soon taught how to feed chickadees out of their hands. He was also known to build the greatest bonfires! Before his illnesses he was an avid gardener, hunter, fisherman, camper, hiker and canoeist. He loved traveling out west where he went on many adventures. He loved the desert environment and could name many of the native plants. He built a “sugar shack” out in his beloved swamp where he made maple syrup. He also helped design and build their home. He loved to make “art” out of natural materials or items others deemed as garbage. He was a recycler/repurposer before it became trendy and was known to never throw anything out.
Donny is survived by his wife, Judy, two daughters Michelle Lynn Rost of Fox Crossing, WI, and Jennifer Ann Rost (Michael Johnson) of Crivitz, WI, two brothers, Richard Rost of Crivitz, WI, and Jerry Rost of Pembine, WI, many nieces and nephews, special friends Stan & Corinne and Joe & Deb, and his butter-pup Bella.
Besides his parents, Donny was preceded in death by two sisters, Diane (Mitzi) Kotecki, and Judie Huebner and her husband Gene (Marv) Huebner.
Donny was a quiet, gentle man who loved his home and preferred to stay there. His grin was infectious, and he had a sense of humor that took people by surprise.
Visitation will be held at Cadieu Funeral Home in Menominee on Saturday, April 13, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. A luncheon will follow at Murray's Irish Pub.

Obituary Preview: On March 7, 2024, Carl Allan Muffler of Menominee, MI began his journey to the Rainbow Bridge to be reunited with the many dogs and cats who shared their lives with him throughout the years. What a party that’s going to be. He sure did love his animals. Carl was born on August 28, 1945 at Selfridge Army Air Corps Base in Mt. Clemens, MI to Carl and Dora (Wiesedeppe) Muffler of Milwaukee.
Carl spent most of his life in Milwaukee, graduating from Washington High School in 1963. He than began work as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service until he was drafted in the U.S. Army in September 1965. He spent the next two years as a trumpet player in the Army Band at Fort Gordon, GA. After his discharge in 1967, he returned to the post office for several more years until beginning a career as a truck driver. In 2002 he retired after 27 years with Consolidated Freightways as a local delivery driver.
In 1987 he moved to Saukville, WI where he would meet the love of his life and future wife Janice Holk. They were married on June 1, 1996 in Port Washington, WI. In 2005 they relocated to rural Menominee to begin a quiet country life.
Carl loved the outdoors, especially when riding his Harley or old Triumph motorcycles. He also liked trap shooting, working in his yard and cooking dinner on his Weber grill while enjoying a tall vodka tonic. Carl was a member of American Legion Post 43 in Stephenson, MI where he participated on the military funeral honor guard. He was also a member of the American Legion Riders, Post 146 of Menominee.
Carl is survived by his wife: Janice of Menominee, MI; step daughter: Beth (Rick) Kroll of Cleveland, WI; step grandchildren and great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He will be greatly missed by his beloved cat: Rocky.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents and sister: Susan.
In keeping with Carl’s wishes, no services will be held. The Anderson Diehm Funeral Home is assisting the Muffler family with arrangements.

She enjoyed drawing, painting, reading, writing and sewing. Marion further enjoyed roller skating and square dancing. She was a wonderful cook and baker. She was gentle, loving, and young at heart. Marion is survived by her 4 children: Patricia (Jeffrey) Hales, Debra (Wayne) Slowinski, Jim (Jackie) Blohm and Jeanne (David) Huss; 10 grandchildren: Matthew (Tiffany) Koehn, Krista (Jay) Klatt, Christopher (Jen) Koehn, Jonathan Doubek, Nathan (Fiancée Cheyenne) Blohm, Marcus (Becky) Blohm, Tyler (Olivia) Blohm, David (Sabre) Huss Jr., Sara Blohm, and Dillon Huss; and 12 great-grandchildren. On August 23, 1947, Bob married Carolyn Dungan at Menominee Covenant Church, a loving marriage that remained strong for 65 years until Carolyn passed away on April 9, 2013. He worked as an electrician for Badger Paper Mills for 30 years. He was an active and faithful member of Community Covenant Church. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, playing games with family and friends, amateur radio, and was an active member of the M&M Amateur Radio Club. Bob and Carolyn enjoyed wintering in Florida for 17 years. He was a wonderful father to his four kids and grandpa to his 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
Survivors include three sons: Robert Jr. (Susan) of Winthrop Harbor, IL, Bruce (Christine) of Wauwatosa, WI, and Brian (Cindy) of Pleasant Prairie, WI; daughter Becky (Bosko) Djurickovic of Naples, FL; 11 grandchildren: Robert III (Amber), Andrew, Daniel, Rebekah (Neil) Davis, Karl (Kelsey), Linnea, Amanda Djurickovic, Steven (Lisa) Djurickovic, Peter (Erin) Djurickovic, Sonja (Bryan) Okun and Julia (Rahul) Mewada; 8 great grandchildren: Hailey, Olivia, Eliot, John, Ernest, Elizabeth, Katarina and Margot and 1 great great grandchild, Brian.
Bob was preceded in death by his two sisters: Enid and Betty (Enstrom) and two brothers, Bertil and Evert.
