A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 9:30 AM at Churchtown Mennonite Church, 2207 Main Street, Narvon PA 17555 with Bishop Leon Zimmerman officiating. A Viewing will be held at the late home, 182 S Poole Forge Road, Narvon, PA 17555 on Friday, May 3, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Born in Caernarvon Twp., she was the daughter of the late Noah and Martha (Weaver) Shirk.
She was a member of Churchtown Mennonnite Church, Groffdale Conference.
Surviving are five siblings: Elva married to Ivan Brubacher, Naaman married to Florence (Sauder) Shirk, Alice Shirk, Leroy Shirk and Amos Shirk, all of Narvon.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Mabel Brubacher and Erma Zimmerman.
Her funeral will be held on Monday, April 22, 2024, at 9:30 A. M. at Churchtown Mennonite Church with Bishop Eli Burkholder officiating. Interment in the adjoining church cemetery. Born in Honesdale, she was the daughter of Charles Edwin and Frances Beth (Shields) Smith.
She was the wife of Eric D. Gary, with whom she married on July 3, 2014 and shared 9 years of marriage.
She was a Mary Kay Consultant for the last 14 years and was an active and faithful member of Pine Grove Church, where she served on the women’s ministry, young women’s ministry and young adult ministry. She enjoyed painting and traveling, including many missions trips.
Hillary is survived by her husband, Eric, her parents, Charles and Frances Smith, brothers, Fred husband of Amy Smith, Rick husband of Ellen Smith, Chad Smith fiancé of Deanna Miletta, Derrick husband of Julie Smith and Nathan husband of Kendra Smith and sister, Amanda wife of Jim MacDougall. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews, her in laws, Coley husband of Barbara Gary and sister-in-law, Ilar wife of George Adens.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Pine Grove Church, 1194 Reading Road, Narvon PA 17555 with Pastor Shane Symolon officiating. A Viewing will be held for one hour prior to the time of service in the church. Burial in Bowmansville Union Cemetery.

Carl S. Weller - January 28, 1926 - April 13, 2024

Obituary Preview: Carl S. Weller, 98, of New Holland, died Saturday, April 13, 2024, at WellSpan Ephrata Community Hospital. He was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Pauline S. (Spitler) Weller, in 2017.
Born in Terre Hill, he was the son of the late Walter and Elsie (Zimmerman) Weller.
Carl left high school to join the Army during World War II. He served with the 101st Airborne Division and participated in the Battle of the Bulge. He received the American Theater Ribbon and the World War II Victory Medal for his service.
After his service, he returned to Lancaster County and worked for G. Earl Martin as a plasterer and drywaller. Additionally, he and his wife operated a stand at Shupp’s Grove in Adamstown and Carline’s Yarn and Craft Shop in Terre Hill.
Surviving are two daughters: Sharon A. Weller, New Holland and Carol S. Mellinger, Ohio, two granddaughters, one grandson, four great-granddaughters and one great-grandson .
He was the last of his family.

He was a member of Ebenezer Bible Chapel in Elverson. He had owned Gene’s Auto Sales in Coatesville and Gene’s Machines in Elverson.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Eugene Phillips Jr. and Shelia Phillips, and his daughter and son-in-law, Holly Sweigard and husband Dave Sweigard. He also had 4 grandchildren Sherry Kramer, Malissa Craig, Michael Sweigard and Mitchell Sweigard, along with 8 great grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his parents Lester and Lee Ida (Rissell) Phillips, his brother, John Phillips and sister, Ruth Ann Phillips.
Gene loved his family. He liked cars, being outdoors and traveling. He was very generous. While very quiet, he had a great sense of humor and some very profound insights. He will be missed by many.
A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at Pine Grove Cemetery, 100 Pine Grove Lane, Elverson PA 19520 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Deane Boyd officiating.

He was born on January 29, 1938, the son of Adam Stauffer and Nancy (Gingrich) Stauffer, and also raised by stepmother Elizabeth (Martin) Stauffer.
He married Mary Jane Hurst on March 7, 1959. They celebrated 60 years of marriage prior to her passing in 2019.
Leon was an accomplished wood worker and jack-of-all trades. Working for Boscov's, Bieber Bus and Elite Tours for many years, with his most recent employment delivering equipment for Power Pro. He was a member of Christian Fellowship Church, New Holland. He was a member of Terre Hill Fire Company and served as chief for many years.
He is survived by three children: daughter, Donna married to Ervin Blank, Lewisburg; son, Leon Lamar married to Stacey, Grampian; and son Dwayne married to Jennifer, Denver. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Lindsay (Nathan) Hoy, Joshua (Lydia) Blank, Courtney (Shane) Donely, Kyle (Samantha) Stauffer, Zachary (Nichole) Stauffer, Ryan Stauffer (Jaden Greco), six great grandchildren: Samuel and Penelope Hoy, Jamison Donely, Melody, Kylie, and Makenzie Stauffer. Also surviving are sisters, Violet (Leonard) Martin and Rachel (Carl) Martin, brother Elias (Mary) Stauffer and Frank (Marilyn) Martin. He was preceded in death by siblings: Erma Martin, Joanna Zimmerman, and Lucinda Weaver.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Christian Fellowship Church, 758 Spruce Road, New Holland, PA. Friends may visit with the family at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of service.

Jeanne was an inventory specialist at New Holland Ford. Previously, she worked for the ELANCO School District, training special needs helpers.
Jeanne loved the outdoors, enjoying birdwatching, kayaking, and geocaching. Some of her favorite places to be were Marsh Creek and Raystown Lake. She also enjoyed woodworking and in earlier years was a Girl Scout leader.
Surviving in addition to her husband and mother are two daughters: Ali married to Joe Spencer, and Jackie married to Jeff Dougherty, two step-children: Dave married to Cindy Fisher and Heidi married to Tony Marks, four grandchildren: Addie and Savannah Dougherty and Easton and Garrett Spencer, eight step-grandchildren, ten step-great grandchildren and three siblings: Tom married to Cindy Henry, Karen married to Carey Neff, and Rick married to Julie Henry.

She had many horses throughout her life, enjoyed traveling to the beach every year. She loved spending time with her family. She had made a few rock and roll records in her earlier years.
Dolores is survived by her cousins; Dennis Kern, Sandra Witzke, Wendy Pfaffman, Debra Myers and Jerome Kern.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her cousin; Randy Kern.

Hurst of Ephrata, Marie W. wife of George N. Hoover of Elizabethville, Lorene W. wife of Glen R. Martin of Jonestown and Wilma W. wife of Harold M. Wise of Lebanon. He was the husband of the late Florence (Cartwright) Zigich, with whom he shared 61 years of marriage until the time of her passing on November 8, 2014.
George was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School in Philadelphia PA where he was captain of the varsity baseball team. He was a member of the United Methodist Church for some 70 years and was recently a member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church in New Holland for the past 25 years. He was employed by several Motor Common Carriers for 47 years, starting out as a typist, moving onto manager and finally the Vice President. George was a faithful Christian who walked with God, a faithful family man, and a very hard worker throughout his life.
George is survived by his sons; George N. husband of Theresa (Kilbride) Zigich of East Cocalico, Nicholas M. Zigich of Terre Hill and Glenn husband of Laura (Memminger) Zigich of Frenchtown, NJ and four grandchildren; Rhys, Shayne, Gwyn, and Alaina Zigich.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers; Peter Zigich and Nicholas Zigich.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Evangelical United Methodist Church, 276 W Main Street, New Holland PA 17557 with Pastor Ray Voran officiating. A Viewing will be held for one hour prior to the time of service in the church. Burial in the adjoining church cemetery.

She is predeceased by her parents Herbert and Lilly Hayes, and her brother Harold Hayes and baby sister Ethel Hayes.
Betty loved to laugh, tell stories and garden. She also liked to travel, which she did with her husband, children and grandchildren. She like animals, nature and being outdoors. She was loved and will be missed.
A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, January 15, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Pine Grove Cemetery, 100 Pine Grove Lane, Elverson PA 19520 with Pastor Deane Boyd officiating.

Born in Adamstown, he was the son of the late C. Richard and Betty (Binkley) Fisher.
After graduating from Governor Mifflin High School, he served in the Army, stationed in Fairbanks, AK. He then had a 33-year career as a machinist with New Holland Machine Company, retiring under Fiat’s ownership.
Larry enjoyed golfing with friends and Donna. He was an original member and helped to build Brown Point Lodge in Tioga County, where he also enjoyed spending time.
He was also a member of the American Legion, Ephrata Post 429.
In addition to Donna, he is survived by a brother Daniel Fisher, Sarasota, FL.
He was preceded in death by a brother Richard Fisher.

Chuck was the husband of Muriel L. (Hurst) Halsey, with whom he shared fifty-nine years of marriage.
He was a member of Pine Grove Church since 1963 and proudly served in the United States Navy, singing in the Blue Jackets Choir in Great Lakes IL. He also sang in the Bowmansville Male Chorus for several years. He was a graduate of PA School of Banking at Bucknell University, and has completed various AIB courses. He was employed by the former Blue Ball National Bank for over 30 years, retiring as the comptroller. After retirement he returned to the bank, working in their maintenance department. He had served in various positions for Brecknock Township, including the Zoning, Planning, and Sewer Authority boards. Chuck and Muriel loved taking walks together, participating in 950 10k American Volksmarches since joining the organization in 1989.
In addition to his wife Muriel, Chuck is survived by his children; Pamela H. wife of Gary A. Darstein of Baldwinsville, NY, Kent C. husband of Susan (Schnader) Halsey of Reinholds and Keith W. Halsey husband of Kendra Besh of Anchorage, AK, grandchildren Mary Kate, Madeleine, Jack, Kendall, Cooper, Anna, Teagan and Matteo and one great grandson; Andrew. Also surviving are his sisters; Anne Hurst and Mary Margaret Halsey.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 5, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Pine Grove Church, 1194 Reading Road, Bowmansville PA 17507. A Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM in the church. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.

She was born in Edmonston Maryland, the youngest of seven children of Clarence and Esther Leakey. She was preceded in death by her brothers William Leakey, Harold Leakey and Jack Leakey, as well as sister Shirley Peachey. She is survived by her sisters Stella Eshelman and Janet Weber. She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Joseph Kern Weidner who died in 2005. She is also survived by her three children: Joseph (Kim) Weidner, John (Candice) Weidner and Amy Sue (Jay) Schickling; grandchildren: Dylan Weidner, Anthony Mendoza, Susan and Robert Schickling, Andrew, Aden and Jackson Weidner; and her dear friends George and Anita Oppel, who we consider family.
She knew and organized her life around Jesus and the Dewey decimal system. She is well known for her dandelion wine, and her canned and baked goods, especially her jellies and fruitcake.
