Jeffrey Ayers Luca - October 31, 1964 - December 05, 2023

Departed: 12/05/2023 (na)
Obituary Preview: Jeffrey Ayers Luca (59)
Jeff passed away suddenly on December 5th as the result of a tragic work accident in Pennsylvania. Jeff was the loving husband of Jen (nee Barile) and proud father of Dylan, Rylie, and Nate, along with his beloved pets. Jeff is preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Ruby Luca. In addition to his wife and children, he is survived by siblings Michael Luca (Cheri), Randy Luca, and Darlynn Velotta (Joe), and was the beloved uncle of many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Jeff is best known as “Coach Luca” as the Head Coach of the Twinsburg Tigers Varsity Baseball Team. After coaching for 13 years at Solon High School, Jeff continued his coaching career at Twinsburg High School, where he won Northeastern Ohio Assistant Coach of the Year in 2015 and spent the last five years as Head Coach. Additionally, he was devoted to coaching his son Nate’s travel baseball team from T-ball until his passing. Next to his family, the athletes he coached were his love and passion. He not only inspired his students to be the best they could be on the field, but also as upstanding young men off the field.
Jeff graduated from West Branch High School in Beloit, Ohio in 1983, where he excelled both academically and athletically in Baseball, Basketball, and Golf. After graduation, he continued his education and athletic career in Baseball at The University of Akron, obtaining a Master’s Degree in Physical Education and Sports Management in 1989. He then went on to earn an Elementary Education Certificate at John Carroll University in 1993 while coaching their Baseball team.
Jeff recently retired from the City of Solon, where he spent 33 years managing and coordinating a wide variety of athletic and community events for the Recreation Department. Athletics were always his passion, with the Cleveland franchises, Buckeyes, and Boston College Football ranking at the top.
Jeff was loved by all who knew him and, according to his wife, Jen, Jeff made friends everywhere he went. He was the best neighbor anyone could have, cutting neighbors’ grass and plowing their driveways without being asked. If you knew Jeff, he was your friend for life. His sense of humor was corny and fun, and he truly brought so much light to every room he entered. He made everyone feel important and loved, and he was most proud of his children and their accomplishments.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Solon Community Center (35000 Portz Parkway, Solon, OH 44139) on Monday, December 11th from 4-9pm. All are welcome to join us to remember Jeff and celebrate his life.
In honor of Jeff’s memory and to support his youngest son’s future, the family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to support Nate’s college education via https://everloved.com/life-of/jeffrey-luca/. Your generosity will help ensure that Jeff’s legacy lives on through his beloved son.

Bonnie M. Woelfl Owens - September 15, 1941 - October 27, 2023

Departed: 10/27/2023 (na)
Obituary Preview: Bonita M. "Bonnie" Woelfl Owens (nee Tomek), 82, completed her warrior journey of over 13 years fighting four different cancers when she joined many friends and family in eternal life on Friday, October 27, 2023.
Bonnie was born on September 15, 1941, in Cleveland to Lydia (Betty) and George Tomek. She became the little sister to her brother, Robert (Bob). Bonnie attended Rhodes High School but then her family moved to Seven Hills and she graduated from Parma High School in 1959. Her high school friend group from both schools became lifelong friends.
In 1962, she married Charles (Chuck) Woelfl. She and Chuck had three children: Cheryl, Chuck, and Todd. In 1971, the world changed for Bonnie and her children when her husband Chuck, 30, was killed in a car accident on the way home from work. Bonnie, 29, was a widow with three kids six years of age and under. She cut lawns for neighbors and provided before-and-after care for school-aged kids in the neighborhood because she wanted to be able to raise her kids without working outside of the home. She always figured out how to get by and eventually as her kids got older, Bonnie worked as the warehouse manager for Shirley's Cards and Gifts and then part-time at Kohl's.
Bonnie was remarried in 1976 to Robert (Bob) Owens and the two were together 44 years until Bob died in 2020. They enjoyed many trips to Las Vegas with their family and friends, loved couple's bowling leagues, going on Sunday daytrips and even took square dancing classes. Bonnie was a diehard Cleveland sports fan with a closet full of t-shirts and sweatshirts ready for any team's season but would ultimately repeat her same two "special occasion" outfits without a care. She loved her family. She loved dogs and every family, neighbor or friend's dog loved her. She was the aunt who got in trouble with the kids for starting water fights five minutes after the summer picnic started. She never wanted you to leave when you visited, and she was always happy when you called. "Tell me something good she'd say...." Today, we would say, "You sure were loved. We miss you more."
Bonnie is survived by her children; Cheryl Kimble, Charles (Stephanie) and Todd (Jamie) Woelfl and stepchildren; Robbi (Rich) Price, Scott (Carol), Randy (Dian) and endless list of grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She is also survived by her brother and sisters in law: Laurel Tomek (d. Robert), Joanne Sauterer (d. Robert), John and Nancy Woelfl. Bonnie is preceded in death by her husband Robert (d. 2020) and first husband, Charles Woelfl (d. 1971), her parents Lydia and George Tomek, her brother Robert (Laurel), her dear sister and brother-in-law: MaryKay and George Piricsi and her mother and father-in-law: Charles and Ann Woelfl, and countless, beloved cousins and friends.
Services are Monday, Nov 6, 2023, at the beautifully welcoming Parma Lutheran Church, 5280 Broadview Rd., Parma, OH 44134 at 10 am where Bonnie was married and where she was a parishioner for 63 years and will be led by Rev. Jeffrey "Jay" Scott Plummer, Pastor. The service will be live streamed via zoom at https://us06web.zoom.us/j/81998836750?pwd=Wr0vJVPSfCFm77VF75kotg2zaOICCH.1 and entering Meeting ID: 819 9883 6750
and Passcode: 509000. Cleveland APL donations are appreciated but prayers are always felt. Cleveland APL link: https://clevelandapl.org/ 440-842-7800 www.buschcares.com
