Rhonda Sypolt - April 26, 1967 - December 01, 2021

Departed: 12/01/2021 (Rowlesburg)
Obituary Preview: Rhonda Wolfe Sypolt, 54, of Rowlesburg died Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at Mon General Hospital after a several week battle with respiratory issues following COVID. God, her family, her colleagues, and everyone who knew her knows she wouldn’t go easy, she didn’t know how. It took the Lord six days to create the Heavens and Earth; it took him longer to convince her it was her time. Rhonda allowed her faith, values, and exceptional character to chart her course through every facet of life. This path was endlessly filled with all things shiny, glittery, and sparkly, and would have involved as many stops as needed for family, friends, adventures, and of course stops to shop. She believed strangers were just friends she had not yet met and doing what was right, even when it was not popular.
She was born April 26, 1967, in Morgantown, a daughter of Flora Kelsi (Jones) Wolfe of Hundred and the late Boyd Grealy Wolfe.
Rhonda was first and foremost a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She had worked as a stay at home mom, beautician, home interior consultant, and then worked at Bruceton Bank, deputy clerk at Preston County Magistrate Court, secretary and payroll supervisor for Preston County Schools, and until her passing, Magistrate for Preston County.
She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Gregory Sypolt; her sons, Nathan Sypolt and wife, Megan and daughters Alyssa, Adelyn, and Aubrey of Thornton, and Nicholas Sypolt of Philippi; three brothers, Robert (Bob) Wolfe of Spraggs, PA, Richard (Rick) Wolfe of Wadestown and Boyd (Keith) Wolfe of Hundred; her sister, Yvonne Vinson of Fulton, MD; and her mother Flora K. Wolfe of Hundred.
All of us will remember her in different instances, for some it will be when something shiny flashes past, anytime we see a smile larger than life itself, while trying to cram those last few items in the vehicle for vacation or heading home from a shopping trip, while seemingly attempting to move an immovable object, a gentle tug on the ear (specifically her sons - and maybe not so gentle), every time you open the closet to an avalanche of shoes, purses, and clothing, anytime you get your own personal delivery truck. Rhonda would want us all to remember in her passing to enjoy the life we have, help anyone who crosses our path, Sundays should be time for God and family, to sparkle and smile, and to take every opportunity to hug your loved ones, because you never know when it will be your time to be called home. Friends may join at Burke Funeral Home in Rowlesburg on Friday, December 10 from 2 to 8 pm and on Saturday, December 11, 2021 from 12 noon to 2 pm the service hour with Pastor Edward Martin officiating. The 2 pm memorial service will be available to be live streamed for those unable to attend via a link on Burke Funeral Home’s website: burkefuneralhomewv.com The family asks that you consider making a donation to the Corridor Chapter of AS-WV in lieu of sending flowers. The Corridor Chapter is an affiliate of the Autism Society of West Virginia, with whom her granddaughter Alyssa is associated. Information: Corridor Chapter of AS-WV c/o Peggy Hovatter 1305 Kennedy Run Rd.  Rivesville, WV 26588

Why are obituaries important?

Obituaries serve as a way to honor and celebrate the life of the deceased, while also providing important information to those who knew them. They help to notify people of the passing, share details about the funeral or memorial service, and offer a sense of closure.

What information should be included in an obituary?

A typical obituary includes the person's name, age, date of birth and death, place of residence, occupation, education, hobbies, achievements, and surviving family members. It may also include information about the funeral or memorial service, charitable donations, and any other relevant details.

How long should an obituary be?

The length of an obituary can vary depending on the publication or platform. Generally, it should be concise and to the point, ranging from a few sentences to a short paragraph. Some online obituary platforms may allow for longer tributes or stories.

Who writes an obituary?

Usually, the family members or close friends of the deceased write the obituary. Funeral homes or crematories may also assist with writing and submitting the obituary to newspapers or online platforms.

Can anyone write an obituary?

Yes, anyone can write an obituary. However, it's often best to have someone who was close to the deceased write it, as they can provide personal insights and anecdotes that make the tribute more meaningful.

What is the difference between an obituary and a death notice?

A death notice is a brief announcement of a person's passing, usually including only basic information such as name, age, and date of death. An obituary is a more detailed tribute that includes biographical information and often shares stories about the person's life.

Where are obituaries typically published?

Can I include photos in an obituary?

What is an online obituary?

An online obituary is a digital version of a traditional print obituary. It's published on a website or platform specifically designed for sharing obituaries and allows users to leave condolences, share memories, and view photos and videos.

How long do online obituaries stay online?

The duration that an online obituary remains available varies depending on the platform. Some websites may keep them online permanently, while others may remove them after a certain period of time.

Can I edit an obituary after it's been published?

In most cases, it's possible to make corrections or updates to an obituary after it's been published. However, this may depend on the publication or platform's policies and procedures.

What if I want to keep my loved one's obituary private?

If you prefer to keep the obituary private, you can opt for a private online memorial or limit access to specific individuals. Some funeral homes or crematories may also offer private printing options for family members only.

Can I include charitable donations in an obituary?

Yes, many families choose to include information about charitable donations in lieu of flowers in the obituary. This can be a meaningful way to honor their loved one's memory and support a cause that was important to them.

How do I submit an obituary to a newspaper?

You can usually submit an obituary to a newspaper by contacting their editorial department directly. They will provide guidance on their submission process and any specific requirements they may have.

Can I write an obituary for someone who has been deceased for a long time?

Yes, you can still write an obituary for someone who passed away years ago. This can be a therapeutic way to process your emotions and celebrate their life, even if it's not immediately following their passing.

What if I'm struggling to write an obituary?

If you're having trouble writing an obituary, consider asking a friend or family member for help. You can also seek guidance from a funeral home or crematory staff member. Remember that it's okay to take your time and don't worry too much about perfection – the goal is to honor your loved one's memory.
