He was born on February 23, 1933 in Fenner, a son of the late Earl H. and Pearl (Goff) Hauck and was a 1950 graduate of Morrisville School. In 1956, Richard married Carolyn Shaver, and they shared a marriage for 56 years.Richard was employed as a sales manager at Haun Welding Supplies in Syracuse for over 30 years, until his retirement. Dick was a member of Peterboro United Methodist Church, Cazenovia Mason Lodge No. 616, the Morrisville Lions Club, the Rotary Club of Morrisville, American Welding Association and was a former member of the Morrisville Fire Department. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed fishing and reading; he could stay up all night to finish a book.Richard is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Arleen and Gerald Mattia, of New Hartford, a son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Cindy Hauck, of Morrisville, his grandchildren, Cassie (Kevin) Tansey, of Galloway, NJ., Kayla (Andrew) Thompson, of Goldensbridge, NY., Savannah Hauck, of Syracuse, great-grandchildren; Kaelyn, Makenna, Braxton and Dawson. He was an avid gun enthusiast who enjoyed talking about guns and shooting with his friends. He is survived by his father, James Slocum, of Utica, NY, and brother, Benjamin Slocum, of Olean, NY and many aunts, uncles and cousins.He was predeceased by his mother, Bette. He was born November 21, 1946 in Oneida, a son of the late Earl and Lulla (Westcott) Jones. He received his education in Madison Schools before graduating from Hamilton High School. He served in Vietnam with the US Army. He was united in marriage to Carla J. Spurling on December 27, 1986 in Eaton,Danny worked for Diemolding, Wampsville until his retirement. He had been a self-employed mason and worked as a carpenter and sheet rocker for Ron Wright Construction and Pyramid Corporation. He was a member of the Waterville Fish & Game Club, enjoyed the outdoors and nature, hunting, fishing and archery. He especially enjoyed instructing the kids in the family to fish and was a member of an archery club where he taught others the art of the sport. Surviving are his wife, Carla; children, P.J. She was born in Syracuse on May 2, 1954 daughter of the late Harold and Edith (Slotnick) Lessen. Cindy graduated from Nottingham High School and Hudson Valley Community College. On June 15, 1985 in Vernon she married Richard “Rich” Griffith. She worked as a daycare teacher in Cazenovia and Dewitt and as a Teacher’s Aide in Morrisville-Eaton Central Schools before retiring. In her retirement, she enjoyed buying and selling antiques from her booth at Madison Inn Antiques. She also spent countless hours volunteering for the Worn Again in Hamilton and The Key in Cazenovia and enjoyed her time as a Red Hat. Cindy was a huge animal lover and especially had an affection for cats. Surviving are her husband, Rich; her daughter Lisa (Mike) Adami of Albany; grandson, Zachary; sister Brenda Share of MA; brother Michael Lessen of Manlius; sister-in-law, Janet (Walt) Pohley of Oneida Castle, brother-in-law, Jack (Ruth) Griffith of Idaho and several nieces and nephews.Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Forest Hill Cemetery, 2201 Oneida St., Utica, NY 13501. She was the oldest of four children born to Dennis and Cora (Briest) Roher on February 7, 1946. Diana graduated class of 1963 salutatorian from Stockbridge Valley Central School and continued her education at SUNY Morrisville in Secretarial Science. On August 31, 1968, she was united in marriage to David Cordell, celebrating over 55 years. Diana was a stay-at-home mom to their four children and then worked at Stockbridge Valley Central School for 25 years prior to retirement.She was a member of the Pratts Hollow United Methodist Church and active for many years with the SVCS PTO; enjoyed square dancing; sewing, especially clothes for all the kids; counted cross stitch; shopping; camping with the crew; spending time with her entire family, especially the grandchildren; and was a fabulous baker. Joan was born in Utica, NY on May 26, 1955, to Charles and Gratia (Eastman) Burleigh who raised their family in Morrisville, NY. Joan graduated from Morrisville-Eaton High School and then attended Morrisville Agricultural and Technical College where she earned a degree in computer science. Joan worked for Madison County as a computer programmer for 30 years, retiring in 2009. Throughout this time, Joan also raised a family of five children with her husband Tom. Joan and Tom resided in Oneida, NY for many years until their retirement when they built their dream home, which Joan meticulously designed, in Eaton. Joan was an avid crafter and spent many years creating fleece pillow covers, shams, blankets, and different types of personalized Christmas decor to sell at local craft shows. She thoroughly enjoyed the experience of working at craft shows, often with her husband and daughters by her side. Joan was also a lover of jewelry, specifically gemstones, and loved shopping on Gem TV and QVC. Joan was with the love of her life, Tom, for 50 years until his passing in 2022. Joan and Tom spent all their time together and especially loved being with their children, and eventually, their grandchildren. They enjoyed watching SU Basketball games together and vacationing around the US. Joan, often clad in her signature summertime tie-dye t-shirts, cherished her summers with Tom and their family at their camp on Hatch Lake. They spent countless hours at camp, laughing on the deck, playing cards and games, and going around the lake on their boat. Joan was predeceased by her beloved husband Tom and father Charles Burleigh. Shirley Ann Wormuth, 89, of Morrisville, NY passed away on Thursday January 25, 2024. Born Shirley Ann Courcy, March 5, 1934 in Syracuse, NY, the daughter of the late Earl and Barbara Gerthoffer. Shirley graduated from Minoa High School in 1952. On October 13, 1956 she was united in marriage to Raymond E Wormuth. She was employed at the Syracuse Bearing Company, the United States Government at Fort Belvoir, and the Morrisville-Eaton School District.
Shirley enjoyed crochet, knitting, sewing, and other crafting. She was an accomplished golfer, who won awards at local courses. She was the organizer and avid participant of football pools and card games with her dear neighbors for many years. Shirley and Ray enjoyed traveling globally when younger, but traveling yearly to the beloved Royal Islander Club in Sint Maarten was what they looked forward to most.
Shirley dearly loved her 4 children, 11 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren. She was born on March 28, 1948 in Kissing, Germany, a daughter of Andreas and Franziska Kratzer and received her education there. On March 28, 1973, Wilhelmine married Herbert Hiemer in Germany. Mr. and Mrs. Hiemer were farmers who immigrated to Canada in August 1985, and then to Morrisville in August 1996. Wilhelmine was of the Catholic faith. She enjoyed folk painting, German music, polkas, cooking and gardening.
Surviving is her husband, Herbert; three daughters Franziska (Mike) Ezekiel of Kincardine, and their children, Amanda and Danielle of Ontario, Can. Antonie Hiemer of Morrisville and her friend, Peter Cavaggioni of Rome; and Maria Hiemer of Toronto, Can.; two sons, Andreas Schad of Hanover, Ontario, Can. and Herbert Hiemer of Morrisville; and her brothers and sisters, nieces, nephews and cousins in Germany. Also surviving is her home health aide Karrie Manwarren, who showed great care to Wilhelmine above and beyond what was expected of her. She became like family and will be greatly missed.
