Richard L. Holler - March 15, 1925 - April 24, 2022

Departed: 04/24/2022 (Mechanicsburg)
Obituary Preview: Richard L. Holler A Loving Husband, Father and Grandfather -
Richard L. Holler, age 97, of Mechanicsburg, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, April 24, 2022.  Richard was born on Sunday, March 15, 1925, in White Hill to the late Harry W. Holler and Mae Irene (Sutton) Holler.  In addition to his parents, Richard is preceded in death by his daughter, Sheree Holler; his two brothers, Kenneth Holler and Harry Holler; and his two sisters, Kathrine Holler and Vera Eppley.
Richard’s survivors include his beloved wife of 68 years, Reba Irene (Chronister) Holler; his son Jason Richard Holler and wife, Aline; and his two grandsons: Bryan Jason Holler and wife, Kelsey and Andrew “Drew” Frederick Holler and wife, Emily.
Richard was born in White Hill, PA. He proudly served his country in the Army during WWII, where he was stationed in England. As a stretcher case upon returning to the States, Richard’s wallet was retrieved from the plane, where he had left it behind, by femme fatale movie actress Veronica Lake.  After his discharge from the Army, he graduated from Gettysburg College - the first in his family to earn a college degree. As an accountant, Richard worked for Hempt Brothers, Standard Oil, and spent the bulk of his professional career with Bethlehem Steel, where he retired in 1984.  At age 14, Richard became a Red Sox fan. The decades of suffering as a member of Red Sox Nation were finally rewarded in 2004. The man who had doubts if he’d ever see one World Series win, lived to celebrate four Red Sox World Series Championships. He remained a diehard Red Sox fan for 83 years, still discussing their successes and failures with his son (who inherited the curse) until his death.  Richard enjoyed reading Westerns. He did not shy away from new technology, as he enjoyed reading about the daily news and weather on his tablet. He also learned how to Skype, during the COVID Pandemic. Richard and Reba traveled during the early years of retirement. A history buff, they often went to Williamsburg, VA, or returned to the Gettysburg Battlefield, where he had previously retreated to study while in college.  In death, Richard will be reunited with his beloved daughter, Sheree, who died in 1981, the victim of a DUI accident.
At Richard's request his family will be celebrating his life privately.  A private burial in Rolling Green Cemetery in Camp Hill will be at the family’s convenience.
While Richard’s family will not be accepting flowers, they invite those wishing to celebrate Richard’s life with a memorial contribution to make them to Mechanicsburg Area Meals on Wheels, Inc., Box 1093, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055 or Trindle Spring Lutheran Church, 14 State Road, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050.
Richard’s family has entrusted his care to Buhrig Funeral Home & Crematory in Mechanicsburg, (717) 766-3421.  Read Richard’s full obituary, view his photograph, offer condolences and sympathy, share stories and memories, upload photographs and videos, light a candle and sign his official guest book by visiting Buhrig.com.

Ellen graduated from St. Canice High School in Pittsburgh in 1961 and went on to Point Park University, where she graduated with a nursing degree.  She retired from Holy Spirit Hospital in Camp Hill, after many years working as a registered nurse at various institutions.  Ellen was a lifelong member of the Roman Catholic faith.  She loved craft projects—she was an accomplished seamstress—and watching game shows.  Ellen also enjoyed murder mysteries and Britcoms; her favorite movie was Arsenic & Old Lace and she loved the Keeping Up Appearances series and Carol Burnett.  Ellen was known for having a whimsical side, displayed most obviously in her love of and extensive collection of all things pig.  She loved bird watching and each year looked out for the pair of ducks she affectionately named Mort and Maisy, whose appearance let her know that spring was on the way.  She also loved feeding squirrels, birds, and other wildlife that found their way into her backyard.  Ellen enjoyed treats like cheesecake, carrot cake, and black cherry ice cream, and abhorred lima beans.  She made friends everywhere she went:  she devoted her career to helping others and carried that instinct for making connections into retirement.  She loved to laugh and make others laugh, and appreciated the absurdities of everyday life.  Ellen was a great listener, fiercely independent and tenacious, highly opinionated, and would always help others see the error of their ways (and somehow she always was right).  Above all else, she was devoted to her kids and always wanted the best for them.
All are welcome to join Ellen’s family at her celebration of life open house and gathering of family and friends on Saturday, April 30, 2022, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. with a time of remembrance at 1:30 p.m. at Buhrig’s Gathering Place, 25 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, (717) 766-3421 (next to Buhrig Funeral Home & Crematory).  Over 100 parking spaces are available; just look for the “Buhrig” parking signs in all of the parking lots.  Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Mechanicsburg was held at the convenience of the family.  Cremation was private.

Theresa "Terri" Laura Todd - February 11, 1959 - April 01, 2022

Departed: 04/01/2022 (Mechanicsburg)
Obituary Preview: Theresa “Terri” Laura (Pierce) Todd
Theresa “Terri” Laura (Pierce) Todd, age 63, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Friday, April 1, 2022.  Terri was born on Wednesday, February 11, 1959, in Philadelphia to the late Donald Pierce and Charlotte Frances (Sharp) Pierce.  In addition to her parents, Terri is preceded in death by her four siblings: Dennis Pierce, Barbara Mercado, Diana Stalker, and John Pierce, Sr.
Terri’s survivors include her husband of 30 years, Charles “Charlie” Fredrick Todd, Jr.; her two sons: Charles Todd, III of Mechanicsburg and Sean Todd of Mechanicsburg; her four siblings: Donald A. Pierce and wife, Peg, of Philadelphia, Peggy Pierce of Philadelphia, Lori Williams and husband, Robert Sr., of Philadelphia, Kathy Eichman and husband, Bob, of Mechanicsburg; her two sisters-in-law: Laurie Pierce of Anderson, SC, Annamae Pierce of Havertown; her two brothers-in-law: Joe Todd of Alloway, NJ, John Todd and wife, Carol, of Alloway, NJ; and several nieces and nephews.
Since the beginning of Terri’s life, she became a daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, cousin, sister-in-law, and friend to many.  Terri started her adulthood in Upper Darby, PA where she started working at Rite-Aid Pharmacy and then went on to meet her husband, Charles F Todd.  They met on November 28, 1985 and six months later in May 1986 she introduced him to her, and now his, family.
Terri married Charles F. Todd on May 25, 1991 and they moved to Mechanicsburg, PA soon after.  On July 2, 1992, they were blessed with their twin boys, Charles and Sean, who are their pride and joy.  When the boys turned 18 months old, the family moved into their forever home.
When Terri returned to work she continued her career with the Rite-Aid Corporate Center.  Quite often you would see them with co-workers and family members at 6:00 A.M. enjoying a table sale that Rite-Aid often held for its employees.  If you know Terri and Charlie, you know that when they would leave the table sales they always left with several boxes of wonderful finds, as well as the people who joined them.  They would often enjoy breakfast at Diener's on Main St. afterward.  Terri then retired from the workforce after 30 plus years of service in 2017.
Terri was a hard worker in the business and her personal world.  She loved family gatherings and vacationing with her husband and children.  Terri would often extend an invite for vacations to include nieces, nephews, siblings, and other family and friends.  It was something she truly enjoyed.  Her favorite was vacationing with her husband and children in Disney World, and a time or two she would invite other family members along.  Terri also enjoyed yearly trips to the beach.  She liked many things, especially anything Disney, Eeyore, The Grinch, a good Vera Bradley bag and daisies.  She loved seeing the children in her family grow up and she did all that she could to love and support them.
Terri wasn't one to ask for anything except your love and time; she didn't want or need anything else.  She was one of the most giving people around.  Terri was always willing to cook and bake for anyone that came to her home, and even if you didn’t get to her home, she volunteered endlessly to cook for family events.  You could often see her with all of her nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, making cookies or cake in the kitchen, just because.
We can go on forever about how amazing of a person Terri was, but we will stop here and say that although her time here was only marked for 23,060 days, or 63 years if preferred, all of our lives were touched in a very special way by her.  She will live in our memories and our hearts forever.
All are welcome to join Terri’s family on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at her in-person viewing from 1:00 p.m. until time of virtual gathering beginning at 2:00 p.m. and her service at 2:15 p.m., all at Buhrig Funeral Home & Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.  Terri’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at Buhrig’s Gathering Place (next to the funeral home) immediately following the service.  Over 100 parking spaces are available; just look for the “Buhrig” parking signs in all of our parking lots.  Interment in Mechanicsburg Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family.
