Mark Joseph Boland - February 13, 1964 - March 03, 2024

Departed: 03/03/2024 (Florissant)
Obituary Preview: Mark Joseph Boland 2/13/1964 – 3/3/2024 Forever in Our Hearts
Mark Joseph Boland, age 60, of Florissant, MO passed away on March 3rd, 2024.
He was born February 13, 1960, in St. Louis, Mo to Donald and Bernice Boland. Mark was the youngest of five children.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Don.
Mark is survived by his only son, Samuel Boland, sister Mary (Michael) Clynes, brothers Michael and David (Sandy) along with nieces and nephews Sarah (Alex), Melissa (Travis), Andrew, Kelly (Kylene), Casey (Mallory), Ryan, his aunt Marilyn and countless friends and acquaintances, and many old Volkswagens.
Mark graduated from North County Tech in 1982 with his A&P License. As an aviation enthusiast, he would go on to work at McDonnell Douglas / Boeing, Lockheed Martin, Trans States, US Aviation and many other aviation companies.
Mark was always looking to make people laugh. He was a jokester and loved to try and get one up on you or make someone fall for something. I remember driving down highway B on the way back from the river and we were approaching a bicyclist…at just the right moment he told our friend he didn’t think her door was shut and she reached to open it and we both yelled NO!!! So as not to smack the bicyclist with the truck door. That was Mark. Always the prankster. But he would have never let the door come open. He would never intentionally hurt anyone. He’d give you the shirt off his back. I’ve seen him do it. He was the kind of person first in line to lend a helping hand. He would plow the snow off your driveway, your neighbor’s driveway, and the ones next to them, just because. That was Mark. He had a knack for figuring out the easy way to do something. He’d always try and guide someone down the path of least resistance, right, wrong or indifferent. That was Mark.
Mark loved a lot of things, he loved his family, he loved the Beatles, he loved cars, he loved his friends, he loved listening to Alice’s Restaurant on Thanksgiving, but his greatest pride and joy was his son Sammy. He was so incredibly proud of Sammy in everything he did from the day he was born up to today. Sammy caught the car bug early in life and Mark gave him the nickname “Motorhead” when he was barely 2 years old. Mark was also beaming with pride when Sam graduated from USMC Boot Camp and began his career as a United States Marine Corps F/A-18 Mechanic. Aviation and Cars. Like Father Like Son. Rest assured Mark will be Sammy’s guardian angel going forward and knowing Mark, he’ll be looking out for you too…because that was Mark.

Then he went to work as a Laclede Cab driver, and a school bus driver for St. Louis public schools. He worked many jobs in the St. Louis metropolitan area.
In 2023 he found meaning in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Lorenzo loved his family and friends. He was the best Biggie brother, son, father, grandpa, and uncle that he could be. 23rd Psalm The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness. For his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: For thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they Comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the Presence of my enemies: thou anoint my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and Mercy should follow me all the days my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. KJV
I am Free.
Don't weep for me, I am following the path God laid down for me. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, ah yes, these things I too will miss. Perhaps my time seemed too brief, don’t lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your hearts and share with me, God wanted me now, He set me free. Acknowledgment
