Obituary Preview: Janet A. Newhard, 82, of Schnecksville, died Friday April 26 2024. Born in Coplay, she was the daughter of the late Paul J. and Agnes (Schelly) Oswald. Janet was the wife of the late Robert Newhard.
After graduating from Coplay High School, Janet worked for herself for many years in the landscaping and lawncare business. She loved the outdoors, birdwatching, camping, square dancing and bingo.
Surviving is her son John D. Newhard and wife Patricia, sisters Myrtle Scholl, Doris, wife of Frank Graberitz, Hattie Stewart, and Tina Melniszyn, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister Anna, and brothers Richard, Paul, James, Martin and Martin.
Funeral services will be held at 11am, Friday May 3, 2024 at Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc., 327 Chestnut St. Coplay, PA 18037. There will be a calling period prior to the service from 10-11am Friday at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Highland Cemetery in Allentown.

Obituary Preview: Elsie J. Selady, 91, of Coplay, passed away on April 21, 2024, in her residence surrounded by her family. She was the wife of John A. Selady with whom she shared 59 years of marriage before his passing in 2021.
Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Petrasovits. Elsie worked as a seamstress for the textiles industry.
She was a member of the Coplay Saengerbund. She enjoyed the casinos and playing the card game “Crazy 8’s”. She always made herself readily available to all her neighbors, her kindness will forever be remembered. Elsie was a member of St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church in Coplay.
Elsie is survived by daughter Lisa Selady of Whitehall and son John Selady of Coplay and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by seven brothers and sisters. Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to Lehigh Valley Hospice c/o the funeral home.

Obituary Preview: Hilda M. Geosits, 74, of Whitehall, died Sunday, April 14, 2024, at Lehigh Valley Hospital. She was the loving wife of John Geosits, Sr. and they would have celebrated 55 years of marriage together this September. Born in Güssing, Austria, she was a daughter of the late Stefan and Mary (Stranzl) Kulovits.
Hilda was a graduate of Whitehall High School and a lifelong member of St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church in Coplay. She worked as a hairstylist most of her life for various businesses in the area.
Hilda’s family was her whole world. She was a very caring, compassionate person and was selfless, putting the needs of others before her own.
Surviving along with her husband John, are her daughter Lori Galucy and husband Tony, son John, Jr. and wife Nicole, grandchildren Stephen, Madison, Mackenzie, Hazel, and Rose.
There will be a calling period from 1:30pm-2:30pm Friday April19, 2024, at Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc., 327 Chestnut St. Coplay, PA 18037. Memorial Services will follow at 2:30pm Friday at the funeral home.

Obituary Preview: Hilda Stumpf, 99, Coplay, died Thursday, April 11, 2024, at Fellowship Manor with her daughter by her side. Born in Stiles, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Cecilia (Yost) Fandl. She was the wife of the late Louis I. Stumpf who passed away in 2010.
Hilda was a graduate of Whitehall High School and a long-time member of St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church in Coplay. Hilda worked for many years as a mill worker in the garment industry.
Above all she was a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Surviving are her daughter Jeanette Galitsky and husband Leon; son Ronald Stumpf and wife Adrienne; grandchildren Leon Galitsky, Jr., Christina Galitsky, Daniel Stumpf and Tess Marie Stumpf, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 4 sisters.

She was the wife of Louis J. Nagy with whom she would have shared 60 years of marriage this May. She was a graduate of Central Catholic High School. She attended Joyce Art Beauty School and was a beautician at Hess downtown in Allentown.
Bobbie had many passions. She enjoyed arts and crafts, making her own clothing, playing the organ and interacting and advising with her granddaughters. Above all, she loved her family most and will missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband Louis, sons; Louis J. Nagy and wife Annette; Scott M. Nagy and wife Lisa; Eric A Nagy and wife Toni; brother Joseph Csencsits and wife Joanne; grandchildren; Toni, Samantha, Marissa and Emma; great grandchildren Aedan and Hadley.

He was the husband of the late Marie R. (Dougherty) Groller with whom he shared 40 years of marriage prior to her passing in 2002.
Joseph was a cost estimator for Fuller Company/FL Smidth for 35+ years. He was a lifelong member of St. Peter’s R.C. Church in Coplay. He was a Councilman for 18 years in the borough of Coplay. He was a member of Coplay Lions Club for 40+ years having held various positions. He was a former member of Coplay Community Days Committee and was a member of various clubs in Coplay. He volunteered for his church’s counting group. He was a member of Traveler’s Protective Association for many years.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Jeanine, wife of Keith Davis of Coplay, Melissa of Trexlertown, one granddaughter and three great-granddaughters, his companion Lydia Lesczyszyn of Macungie and several nieces and nephews.
There will be a calling period on Thursday, April 4, 2024, from 9-10:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s R.C. Church in Coplay. A mass of Christian burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at the church cemetery.

Gregory worked for many years as an electrician for LaFarge Cement Company in Whitehall. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and trap shooting. He loved watching Penn State Football and following the Dallas Cowboys.
Above all he was devoted to his family and was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother and will be missed.
Surviving along with his wife Terry, are his children, son Gregory Jr., daughters Kelly Beck and husband Travis, Christina Kauth and husband Paul, Jessica Collins and husband Matt, Katie Klucharich; sisters JoAn Skeath, Kathryn Browning and husband Peter, Anita Spengler and husband Rick; grandchildren Kara, Bryn, McKenna, Charlotte, Margot, Cooper, Madelynn, Keagan, Amelia, Maverick, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother Louis Klucharich.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30am Thursday March 28, 2024 at Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc. 327 Chestnut Street, Coplay, 18037. There will be a calling period from 9-10:30am Thursday at the funeral home, before the service.

Leon E. "Gene" Krebs - September 13, 1940 - March 17, 2024

Obituary Preview: Leon E. “Gene” Krebs, 83, of Whitehall died peacefully at home March 17, 2024.He was the husband of Judy K. (Kauffman)Krebs with whom he shared 58 years of marriage.
Born in Trevorton, PA., he was the son of the late Leon E. Krebs and Hazel J. (Haupt)Krebs. Leon was a graduate of Trevorton High School class of 1958. He served four years in the U.S. Navy after graduating from high school.
He attended the Pennsylvania State Police Academy, graduating in the class of 1962. He was stationed at York and Harrisburg in the beginning of his career as a PA. State Trooper. He then furthered his education in Allentown to become a ballistics and tool markings expert, working in the crime lab with the PA. State Police Bethlehem barracks. After serving 32 years with the PA. State Police, he continued his law enforcement career working for the FBI in Quantico VA., Washington, DC. Metropolitan Police Dept., Montgomery County Detectives, Norristown, PA. and then went on to teach ballistics and tool markings for the PA State Police. He finally retired in 2010 at age 70.
Leon enjoyed hunting and fishing; playing guitar and his musical saw with his band “Lizard Creek Country.” He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish fond memories along with his wife Judy are two daughters, Susan E. Santiago of Northampton, Nicole M. McLoughlin of Whitehall: three grandchildren, Erin A. (Molnar) Scheid (Christopher) of Walnutport, Michael W. McLoughlin of Whitehall, Rachael L. McLoughlin of Ashland, four great grandchildren; Peyton Rudakewiz, Ty Scheid, Maci Scheid and Kayden Sam.

Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Frieda (Berner) Csencsits. She was the wife of Raymond Sherry.
Monica was a graduate of Whitehall High School. She earned her nursing degree from Sacred Heart School of Nursing. She was employed as a Registered Nurse at Sacred Heart Hospital for almost 20 years.
She was a resident at Beechwood Rehab Facility in Langhorne, PA. The family would like to thank the staff for the compassionate care given throughout her stay there. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband Raymond, daughter Elizabeth, son Philip and wife Meg; grandchildren, Neve, Owen and Jude; siblings; Edward Csencsits and wife Bonnie, Steven Csencsits and wife Karen and Eileen Yost and husband Scott.
There will be a graveside service at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 16, 2024, at St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Whitehall.

Obituary Preview: John L. Daub, 92, of Whitehall passed away peacefully on March 8, 2024, at Fellowship Terrace. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Leo Daub and Mary (Sabol) Daub.
He was the husband of Mary (Matika)Daub with whom he shared 53 years of marriage. John was a 1950 graduate of Central Catholic high school. He attended Penn State and received a degree in Drafting.
John served honorably in the U.S. Airforce. He was a design engineer for the automotive industry, retiring in 1987. He was a longtime member of St. John Fisher Church in Catasauqua. He was an usher at the church and loved taking senior citizen bus trips with church Knights of Columbus.
John played the trumpet and played in his school band. He enjoyed crossword puzzles and was an avid sports fan; his favorite team being the Phillies. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish fond memories include his wife, Mary, and many nieces and nephews. There will be a calling period on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at St. John Fisher Catholic Church 1239 Third St., N. Catasauqua from 10:00-11:00 a.m. A mass of Christian burial will follow in the church at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Andrew’s Cemetery in N. Catasauqua.

Obituary Preview: Frank J Kroboth, age 92 and husband of Rose (Thomas), passed away at the Lehigh Valley Hospital inpatient hospice on March 8th. He was born in Coplay, PA, was the son of Rudolf and Anna (Failer) Kroboth, and was a parishioner at St John the Baptist RC church in Whitehall.
He was a packhouse worker and committee man at Keystone Cement when he retired in 1992. He was a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and served 3 years in Germany. A life member of the Coplay Saengerbund, he was also their Treasurer for many years. He was a life member of the Coplay American Legion and the West Coplay Maennerchor and a member of the Northampton Hungarian Club and the Tri-boro Sportsman Club. Frank also enjoyed swimming, a good cigar, and was an avid bowler who in his post-retirement years bowled a 300 game and an 800 series.
He is survived by his wife, children Rosemarie (Rich) Dimovitz, Frank (Judi), Barbara (Tim) Stringer, Patricia (Jody) Harwi, Thomas, and John (Kelly), 16 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and sister Teresa of Florida. He was predeceased by his sister Anna Marie of Coplay.

Born in Allentown, PA he is the son of the late James and Vilma (Nemeth) Koncz. Married February 11, 1956, Eugene is predeceased by his loving wife Jeanette S. (Moravek) Koncz.
Eugene graduated from Allentown Central Catholic HS in 1951 and Villanova University in 1955, with a degree in Economics. He served in the US Army from 1955 to 1958 in the Quartermaster Corps, Ordnance Corps, Transportation Corps and Corps of Engineers in the USA, England and Germany.
He was employed by Quality Service Oil Company/Topper Petroleum Company as the office manager and Secretary-Treasurer and retired in 1995, several years after the company became Top Star Inc.
Eugene was a member of St. John Fisher Roman Catholic Church, formerly St. Andrew’s in N. Catasauqua. He served as Liturgy Committee member, Catechist, Eucharistic Minister and Lector. He also worked with the church cleaning crew and pierogie makers.
Eugene was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was a Men of Malvern retreatant for many years.
He was a member of the Rotary Club or Northampton and former Treasurer and board President. He was a board member and past President of the Catasauqua/Suburban North YMCA. He was the former President of the board of advisors for Good Shepherd School (formerly Our Lady of Hungary School), Northampton, PA.
He is survived by sons: Kenneth, wife Andrea of Whitehall and Lynn James, wife Valerie of Kempton; grandson Matthew, wife Meredith and granddaughter Lauren, husband Joel Maynard.
Great grandsons: Theodore Koncz, Henry Koncz, McGrady Eugene Maynard and Kennett Maynard.
Funeral Mass: A calling hour will be held at St John Fisher church from 10-11 a.m. on Friday, March 1, 2024 followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at  St. Andrew's Cemetery in N. Catasauqua.

Obituary Preview: Raymond R. Krenn, Sr. of Coplay passed away peacefully on February 16, 2024, at the age of 93. He was the husband of Louise C. (Kropf) with whom he shared 68 years of marriage this past November. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Jacob and Helen (Brobst) Krenn.
Raymond proudly served his country with the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He worked at Napa for many years and Eastern Industries Stone Company before retiring. Ray was an avid outdoorsman. He loved fishing, hunting, trap shooting and his trips to Wyoming to hunt. Ray was also a hunting safety instructor. He was a lifetime member of Grouse Hall and a past president. Ray was involved in many organizations. He was a former Commander of the Coplay American Legion, Captain of Grouse Hall Trap Shooters, past President of Coplay Senior Citizens Group and helped his wife run the Coplay Food Bank. Ray also loved the Phillies.
Surviving along with his wife, are his children, sons Raymond, Jr., and wife Donna; Edward and wife Tanya; Wayne and partner Jess; daughter Brenda Kuchera and husband Richard and daughter Luann Krenn; 4 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister.

James Joseph Youman - April 24, 1950 - February 15, 2024

Obituary Preview: James Joseph Youman, 73, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Bristol, CT., he was a son of the late George E. Youman and Edith Youman.
He was the husband of Elsie E. (Ortiz) Youman with whom the was together for 11 years, sharing 4 years of marriage last July.
James graduated from high school and briefly attended college before enlisting in the United States Coast Guard which he served with honor aboard the USCGC Boutwell. While serving in the Coast Guard, James was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, First Good Conduct Award and a Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation. After the Coast Guard, James was a hard worker with numerous companies before his retirement in 2015 as a Warehouse Supervisor for JC Penney
James was a dedicated volunteer with the Eastern Salisbury Fire Department for numerous years where he enjoyed his time and comradery with the fellow volunteers within the community.
He was a member of Koinonia House of Worship Church in Hokendauqua. James was active in the church and enjoyed assisting the church with whatever the needs were, however the lawncare was where he found the most joy. James embraced the church and furthered his relationship with the Lord. Members of the church will deeply miss James.
James had many passions. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed the outdoors which included fishing, kayaking, archery and hunting. He enjoyed going to the shooting range, loading his own ammunition and above all spending quality time with his family. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish fond memories include; his wife Elsie E. (Ortiz) Youman, son Christopher J. Youman and wife Wendy; daughter Joy M. DeRosia and husband Steve, brothers; George and Arthur Youman; grandchildren Zoe M. and Ethan J. Youman; stepchildren, Yadira Bove and husband Chris, Juan Oritz and wife Claribelle and Jerson E. Rivas; step grandchildren Julissa Medina, Daniel Medina and Jaylen Medina, Emilia, Elayna and Emmanuel Ortiz,; step great grandchildren Kayden and Judah Colons as well as several nieces, nephews and friends.
There will be a calling period on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, from 3:30 pm – 7:00 p.m. at Brubaker Funeral Home, Inc., 327 Chestnut St., Coplay, PA. 18037. A funeral service officiated by Pastor Eliseo Rivera will commence in the funeral parlor at 05:30 P.M.

Boger for almost 30 years before his passing in 1999. Born in Coplay she was a daughter of the late George P. and Stella T. (Kovacs) Kornhausl.
Helen was an active member of St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church in Coplay. She was a member of the Church funeral choir, the Altar & Rosary Society, a pierogi maker and volunteered for the Church picnics. Helen was a 1965 graduate of Whitehall High School and Cosmetology School. Helen worked as a hairdresser for a variety of locations including the former Hess’s Department Store in Allentown and Zollinger’s Department Store in Whitehall.
Surviving is her daughter Kristina L. Libricz and husband Albert C. Jr.; beloved granddaughter Katrina Marie Green; sister Stella R. Schlittler and husband Lawrence, sister-in-law Vicki Ahner; and nieces and nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law Gerald Ahner, Sr. and In-Laws William and June Boger.

Barbara was a member of the former St. Andrew's Catholic and the current St. John Fisher Roman Catholic Church in North Catasauqua. After graduating from Whitehall High School, Barbara worked for Fuller Co. and later F. L. Smidth in various clerical positions.
Barbara is survived by her son Walt “Toby” Torba, and his wife Melissa, granddaughter Tatum, sister Monica Karpowicz and husband Don of Green Valley, Arizona, and brother Peter Mondrick and wife Cathy of San Marcos, California. She was preceded in death by her sister Dora and brother Joe.
Her viewing will be held at 10-11am Tuesday February 6, 2024, at St. John Fisher Catholic Church, 1239 3rd Street, N. Catasauqua, 18032. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in the church at 11am. Entombment to be held at Assumption BVM Cemetery in Northampton.

She was a sewing machine operator for various Lehigh Valley garment manufacturers. In addition, she worked on the family farm. She was a member of St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church in Coplay. She was also a lifelong member of NEFFS and Laurys Fire Company.
Theresa was a huge Philadelphia Phillies fan and rarely missed listening or watching them. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by three sons; John of Whitehall, James and his wife Ellen of Walnutport and Ronald with whom she resided; one sister Elsie, wife of Reynold Schneck of Allentown; six grandchildren; John, Kevin, Mark, James, Shelly, and Scott; and ten great grandchildren. She was predeceased by brothers; Adolf, Frank, and Herman; sisters; Julie and Hermenia and daughter in law Jean.
There will be a calling period held on Friday, January 26, 2024, at St. Peter’s R.C.C. in Coplay from 10-11 a.m. A mass of Christian burial will follow in the church at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Peter’s R.C.C. Cemetery in Coplay.

She was a longtime member of St. Peter’s R.C. Church in Coplay where she helped making pierogis and sang in the choir. She was on the committee of helpers who made hoagies at the American Club where she was a lifelong member . Above all, Anna loved her family and will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Glennon; daughters, Linda Seifert and husband James and Michele Wydock and husband Richard; grandchildren; Amy Miller, Ryan Seifert and Meghan Seifert, great-grandchildren, Sophie, and Felicity. She was predeceased by her siblings; brother Frank C. Hafner and sister, Teresa Lacey.
There will be a visitation on Friday, January 12, 2024, from 9-10 a.m. at St. Peter’s R.C. Church 4 S. 5th St. Coplay, PA. 18037 with a mass of Christian burial officiated by Monsignor James to follow at 10:00 am. Interment to immediately follow at the church cemetery in Coplay.

Above all, Kathi’s greatest love was her family, and she cherished spending quality time with her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her.

She began her career at Allentown State Hospital and Allentown Hospital and then worked for over 30 years in the neonatal nursery department of Sacred Heart Hospital in Allentown. She was a knowledgeable and dedicated colleague to many teams throughout her career and impacted the lives of so many infants that she cared for. She was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Church of Allentown. Margaret was a nurturer to all, including animals, especially cats. She was also an avid gardener and an excellent cook who was known for her cherry cheesecake. She enjoyed many family traditions which will be carried on by her daughters and grandsons. Margaret enjoyed watching all sports,
especially the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies.
She loved spending time with her family and held traditional Sunday dinners at the house so she could spend time with her four grandsons. She is survived by her husband, Ellison G. Beers Jr., her sister, Rose Marie (Huber) of Coplay, sister-in law, Charlotte Magliane of Allentown, daughter, Sharon, wife of Neil Goldberg of North Wales, daughter, Christine, wife of Brian Mantel of Bethlehem Township, grandsons, Dr. Elliott Goldberg, Alexander Goldberg, Colin and Evan Mantel, a niece and nephews. She was predeceased by her younger brother, Ferdinand Jr.

Lardell was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by many. Those left to cherish fond memories include his wife, Christine McNeill, son, Sean P. and wife Susan McNeill, grandsons, Ryan P. and Matthew T. McNeill. He also is survived by brother in law, Roger (Ray) Jordan and wife Bonnie, sisters in laws, Dorothy Matthew, Louise Cummings and husband Leon, and Shirley Jordan, in addition to John R. McNeill (uncle) and Ophelia Shaw(aunt)and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by 2 brothers (Robert and John) and 1 sister (Janice).

Later he worked as a delivery driver for Yeager Fuel. David loved cars and owned a variety of models over the years. Most recently he owned a 2003 50th Anniversary Corvette. He loved going to car shows and driving in cruises.
Above all he loved his family and friends. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by many.
Surviving is his son Michael A. Piper, daughter Lu Ann Stanton and husband Stuart; grandchildren Brittany and Matthew Stanton; Bridget Lattea, Amanda and Michael Piper Jr.; sister-in-law Karen DeFeo and husband William; niece Jennifer Watson; nephew Eric Klusaritz and Goddaughter Lucinda Bierman and family. He was preceded in death by his sister Joanne.
