Born in Hornell, New York, October 26, 1965, she was a daughter of Clinton and Rosemary Groves Hadsell. She was a lifelong resident of Hornell and Almond Area. She was predeceased by her in law; Andrew Eldridge, Patrick Darnley and Nancy Perry Hadsell, and her nephew Trevor Ellis
Surviving are her husband Charles Stewart of Hornell, two sons; Cliff Stewart and Charlie Stewart of Hornell, two daughters; Amanda Stewart of Hornell and Samantha (Gregory) Seager of Prattsburg, Brother; Clinton Hadsell Jr. of Almond, three sisters; Tracy Darnley, Colleen Eldridge and Terri (Bill) Ellis of Hornell, eight grandchildren: McKenzie Stewart, Raidyn Rahr, Faith and Kennedy Stewart, Wyatt Hurd, Paci Stewart, Jaxon and Xander Seager.

Philip O. “Phil” Harvey Sr. passed away Saturday (May 13, 2023) at his son’s home in Rosamond, CA. at the age of 90 after a brief illness. His son, Phil Jr. and daughter-in-law Ellie were at his side. Born in Hornell, May 22, 1932, he was the daughter of Philip and Edna M. Emery Harvey. He was a lifelong Hornell area resident and was a graduate of Arkport Central School, Class of 1950. He faithfully served his country as a member of the United States Air Force from 1952-1956,
Phil had been employed as a meat cutter at the former Ritchmeyers Market in Hornell and later at Wegman’s in Hornell. In retirement, he worked part-time for several years at Grizzly’s Custom Cutting, primarily during deer season.
Phil enjoyed bowling, golf and gardening, and was a member of the “Bowling Hall Of Fame”. He was a member of the Arkport American Legion Post for over 40 years.
He was predeceased by his parents, his sister, Phyllis Vasquez and his brothers, Bruce and Joseph Harvey.
Surviving are his wife Ruth Harvey of Hornell, as well as his son Philip Harvey Jr. and his wife, Ellie of Rosamond, CA plus numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. The family will be present to receive friends on Friday (June 2, 2023) at the Bender-Brown & Powers Funeral Home in Hornell at 11 AM where funeral services will follow calling hours at 1 PM. Raymond Tychi, 57 of County route 109, passed away Monday May 24, 2021 at his home in Hornell surrounded by his family.
Born in Hornell on March 27, 1964 the son of Nicholas and Irene (Kame) Tychi he had resided his entire life in the Hornell area.
He was graduate of Hornell Senior High School, class of 1982 and had attended Alfred State University.
Raymond worked at Bausch Health in Rochester for twenty years. He started his career there as a contractor at the help desk. He transitioned into the security team after a year and became a full time employee in 2020 taking the role of Manager of IT Security Operations managing user provisioning globally. Raymond was a dedicated worker, often working from home on the weekends and will be fondly remembered for his love of flowers and his family.
He was predeceased by his father Nicholas Tychi as well as two brothers; Randy and Tim Tychi and his dog (Raina) who was his pride and joy.
Survivors include; his mother Irene Tychi of (Hornell), his domestic partner of 23 years; Timothy Butler of (Hornell), brother; Tom (Denise) Tychi of Hornell, sisters; Cindy Tychi of Wallingford, CT, Linda Wyant of Hornell, Patti Panter of Hornell, Karen (Joe) Carbone of Hornell and Kristie Tychi of Hornell, ten nieces and nephews; Bridget Wyant, Andy Tychi, Kelly Murphy, Jennifer Kent (Brian), Amy Tychi, Jaime Hines, Luke Towner, Dominick Carbone, Nicole Tychi (Aaron) and Kyle Carbone (Paige), ten great nieces and nephews; Nolan Tychi, Madison Matthews (George), Melissa Murphy, Jeremiah Howard, Brianna Kent, Kalib Tanuis, Kai Sharp, Natalia Tanuis, Levi Carbone and Kasen Carbone. Life time friend; Bill Oyer.
At Raymond’s request there will be no calling hours. A private celebration of life will be held by family at a future date. Randy T. Miller, 63 of Elmira, passed away unexpectedly on March 17, 2021. He was born on April 29, 1957 in Elmira, the son of Frederick and Caroline Miller.
Randy was a graduate of Elmira Southside High School. He had been employed for 18 years at Toshiba in Horseheads, 16 years as an over-the-road tractor trailer driver.
He especially enjoyed several years traveling with his wife; Rebecca with United Van Lines. Randy and Rebecca enjoyed dancing, camping, playing cards and especially traveling.
On November 14, 2009, he married his bride of 11 ½ years; Rebecca Manry Miller of Hornell who survives. In addition he is survived by 3 children from a previous marriage; Timothy Miller from Kansas, Melody (Joseph) Shuster of Elmira, and Richard Miller of Horseheads, his mother; Caroline Miller of Horseheads, 3 siblings; Frederick Miller, Laurie and Ray Miller. He was predeceased by his brother, Danny Miller in 2018. Randy had 2 grandsons and one grand daughter along with many nieces and nephews.

Sandra Welles - April 04, 1939 - January 22, 2020

Sandra Lee (Scott) Welles, 80, of Orlando Florida, formerly of Canisteo, passed away Wednesday (January 22, 2020) at Cornerstone Hospice following a short illness.
Born in Hornell, April 4, 1939, the daughter of Forrestt and Janet Scott she had resided in Hornell, Canisteo and most recently in Orlando, Florida. She was a graduate of Hornell Senior High School in 1957 where she was a member of the National Honor Society. Sandy attended the State University of New York at Potsdam where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education. She was a member of the Zeta Gamma Sigma Sorority.
She taught elementary school briefly, before staying at home to raise her children. When they were older, she taught at the high school as an aide and then was a substitute teacher for many years for all the schools in Canisteo and the surrounding towns. She and her husband Larry, established the Good Times Café, a teen center, in Canisteo which they operated from 1988 until 1991. She was employed as the Activities Assistant at the Hornell Gardens for several years before moving to Florida in 2016. After that move, she became a substitute teacher for the elementary schools in Orlando.
She sang in the Messiah and cantata for several years, was a member of the Canisteo Home Bureau, the First Baptist Church of Canisteo where she held many offices in the Church including trustee, secretary of the deacons and treasurer of missions and the memorial fund. She played the piano and organ at the church, had a children's choir, and was a member of the church choir. She gave private piano lessons in her home to both youth and adults.
Sandy was active as a Cub Scout Mother as well as Brownie and Girl Scout Leader. She was a member of both the Canisteo Chapter and the Hornell Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star, and together, played piano for the chapters for over 50 years. Sandy enjoyed listening to classical music, Johnny Mathis, and could sing the music from all the Broadway musicals. After moving to Florida, she became a member of the Downtown Baptist Church of Orlando.
She was predeceased by her parents, and her husband Larry J. Welles to whom she was married on July 22, 1961.
She is survived by her daughters; Debra O'Shields and Amy Welles both of Orlando, Florida, her son David Welles of Seattle Washington, two grandchildren; Ryan and Robin O'Shields, her brother; Dr. Richard Scott and his wife Cheryl Scott of Washington, PA., as well as nieces and nephews.

Clifford K. "Butch" Amidon Jr., 70, of County Route 46, Town of Fremont, passed away Tuesday (January 7, 2020) at his home.
Born in North Hornell, NY, November 1, 1949, the son of Clifford and Helen Morey Amidon Sr., he had resided in this area all his life. He was employed as a carpenter in construction, as a truck driver for the former Saxton Trucking in Hornell, and as a truck driver for the Hornell Evening Tribune.
Butch served his country as a member of the United States Army from 1969-1971 during the Viet Nam War. He especially enjoyed woodworking and camping.
He was predeceased by his parents, his brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Bella Amidon.
He is survived by his sister- Susan (Bruce) Smith of Arkport, and his brother; Ronnie (Mary) Amidon Sr. of Arkport, several nieces and nephews.

She had been a resident of the ARC in Hornell, where she had also worked as a secretary, and also in various other positions. She had also attended the Canisteo First Presbyterian Church.
She was predeceased by her parents, a brother Carl Fairman, and a sister Nancy Ross.
She is survived by her siblings Allyn (Linda) Fariman of ID, Carole Maronza of NH, Kathleen Rose of Dansville, Richard (Una) Hansen of Depew, Karen (James) Mayers of PA, several nieces, nephews and friends at the ARC.
The family will be present 12-1pm Saturday, January 11, 2020, at the Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 6 Spruce Street Canisteo NY 14823, where funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, with Rev. Michelle Ormsby-Serra officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery in Canisteo.

Mark S. Dodge, 67, of 34 Rockwell Street, passed away peacefully on Sunday (January 5, 2020) at Strong Memorial Hospital.
Born in Hornell, November 3, 1952, the son of Ford and Vivian (Bates) Dodge, he was a lifelong area resident, graduating from Hornell High School. After graduation he enlisted in the US Army and was honorably discharged. Mark was retired from the Hornell City School District, where he had been a carpenter and involved in maintenance. He was a member of the Hornell Association, the Hornell American Legion, loved NASCAR, and would tell everybody his favorite football team was anybody but the Bills. During retirement he could be found teeing off on the golf course almost daily.
He was predeceased by his parents.
He is survived by the love of his life and 33 year companion Georgianne Bartlett of Hornell, his siblings Cheryl Dodge of Katrine, NY, Connie Houghtaling of North Hornell, Pam Karns of Hornell, Bryan (Dawn) Dodge of Arkport, Joel (Helen) Dodge of Arkport, his children Kerry Stephens of Victor, Jennifer Albrecht of Geneva, Julie (Chris O'Dell) Dodge of Arkport, Markie (Junior) Gramling of Geneva, step children Deborah (Pete) Ambuski of Canisteo, Philip (Gretchen Cleveland) Bartlett of Arkport, Teresa (Allison) Bartlett of Colorado Springs, 8 grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren, several nieces, and nephews.
Gratitude goes out to the Palliative Care Unit at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.

Ralph D. Rossman, 86, of McHenry Valley Road, passed away unexpectedly Monday (December 30, 2019) at his home.
Born in the Town Of Almond, June 23, 1933, the son of Dexter and Mamie Kehrer Rossman, he had resided in the Town of Almond all his life. He was a graduate of Alfred Almond Central School, class of 1951, and had been a self employed farmer in the Town of Almond from 1933 until 1986. He also drove school bus for the Alfred Almond School district for 33 years, and was employed by the Hornell Agway as a feed delivery man.
Ralph was a loyal member of the Almond Lions Club, the Almond Rod & Gun Club, the "PALS" camping club of the Fingerlakes District, the Steuben County Bee Association, the Almond Grange, the Scio Senior Citizens, and for several years hosted members of the Hornell Dodgers Baseball Team.
Ralph enjoyed hunting and fishing, being a bee keeper, and making maple syrup for many years.
He was predeceased by his parents, his first wife; Joanne Rossman, his sisters; Hazel Zepp and Irene Hillsdorf, his brothers; Claire and Glen Rossman and his grandson; Eric Lehman.
He is survived by his wife, Norma Short Preston Rossman, his daughters; Cheryl (Ralph) Braden of Colorado, Christine (Don) Kernan of Almond, Susan (David) Rossman-Allen of Alabama, Cindy ( Bob) Baker of Andover and Brenda (Jim) Cavanaugh of Henrietta, his sons; Scott Rossman of Alaska, Douglas (Barbara Muoio) Preston of Scottsville and Tracy (Cyndi) Preston of Wellsville, 13 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

David was a loving husband, father, and friend to many. Born in North Hornell, NY, October 30, 1956, the son of Norman Lee and Marlene (Dingwell) Hurd. David and his wife Laurie were short term residents of Gulfport, MS. Before returning to the Canisteo area, where they have called home for the past 33 years. David was a self-employed carpenter; electrician. And he was a member of the Hornell Association. David was a devoted father who enjoyed many things such as: participating in Civil War reinactments, fishing, hunting, riding his Harley, but most of all spending time with his family and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, his step father Jerry Walsh Sr, And his brother Alan Hurd.
He is survived by his wife Laurie Ide Hurd, whom he married on October 22, 1982, his son Dylan (Bethany) Hurd of Canisteo, his sisters Patty Thompson of Michigan, Debbie (Richard) Reid of Michigan, his brother Brett (Katrina) Hurd of Canisteo, his uncle William (Barbara Hurd) Dingwell of Canisteo, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins, his beloved dog Sam, and grand pups Tucker, Abel, Millie, and Emma.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Canisteo American Legion 61 West Main Street Canisteo NY 14823 on January 18, 2020 starting at 1:00pm.

Don E. McManus, 91, of Hart Street, passed away Wednesday (December 25, 2019) at Keuka Comfort Care in Penn Yan.
Born in Hornell, March 14, 1928, the son of Earl Louis and Hilda Kromer McManus, he had resided in Hornell nearly all his life. Don was a graduate of Hornell High School, class of 1946 and received his civil engineering degree from Purdue University in 1953. He had been employed as a civil engineer for the New York State Department of Transportation in Hornell for 33 years.
Don was a member of the Canisteo Wesleyan Church, the Christian Businessman's Association and was a long time member of the board of directors at the Hornell Rural Cemetery Association. Don honorably served his country as a member of the United States Army during WW-2, from September 1946 until July 1948. He was a recipient of the World War II Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal-Japan. He also served overseas in Korea.
He was predeceased by his parents, his first wife; Betty Askins McManus and his second wife; Dena Pelton McManus, his sister; Sandra O'Heron, and his brother; David McManus.
He is survived by his daughter; Donna (David) Woolever of Hornell, his sons; William (Kathy) McManus of Baldwinsville, Stephen E. McManus of Hornell and Timothy (Anna Marie) McManus of Hornell, his brother; Daniel (Kathy) McManus of Hornell, 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Mary Ellen was a communicant of the former St. Ignatius Loyola Church in Hornell and in charge of the 50/50 Club at the church from 1978 until 1988. She is a member of Our Lady of The Valley Parish and a communicant of St. Ann's Church.
She was predeceased by her parents.
She is survived by her brother; Thomas (Mary Ann) Curry of Webster, her long time friend and caregiver; Kim Smith of Hornell ,one nephew; David (Kathy) Curry and one great niece; Savannah Curry, several cousins and friends.
