Mr. Wooten transitioned from labor to reward Friday, April 8, 2022 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro, North Carolina.  He was lovingly known by his family members and friends as “Head, ‘E’ and East Coast”.
Ezra was born in Lenoir County, North Carolina, April 13, 1957, to the living Mr. Lendell Wooten, Sr. and the late Mrs. Sarah Simmons-Wooten.
He received his education in the Lenoir County Public School System.
During Mr. Wooten’s working years, he worked as a Caregiver Technician for O’Berry Training School in Goldsboro, North Carolina.
Brother Ezra loved watching his favorite football team, the Carolina Panthers, and taking pictures with his family members and friends.  Also, he enjoyed family oriented activities such as cookouts, seeing and being around his family members and friends.  He was proud of his family members and his friends.
Brother Ezra was preceded in death by his mother, Mrs. Sarah Simmons-Wooten; his son, Mr. Jamonte Wooten; his brothers, Mr. Desi Arnaz Wooten, Mr. Lendell Wooten, Jr. and Mr. Reginald Dean Wooten; his sisters-in-love, Mrs. Charlotte Taylor Wooten and Mrs. Brenda Wooten.
A public visitation will be held Tuesday, April 12, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Britt Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 414 East Washington Street, La Grange, North Carolina 28551.
A Graveside Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. in the La Grange Memorial Cemetery, 295 West King Street, La Grange, North Carolina 28551.  Elder Leo Dean, Pastor, will officiate.
Also, Interment will follow the Celebration of Life Service in the La Grange Memorial Cemetery, 295 West King Street, La Grange, North Carolina 28551.

She was lovingly known by her family members and friends as “Boot”.
Dr. McDonald transitioned from labor to reward, February 15, 2022 at Piedmont Henry Hospital in Stockbridge, Georgia.
Annie was born in Wayne County, North Carolina, October 5, 1932 to the late Mr. Lemiah Adams and Mrs. Julia Coore-Adams.
She received her early education in the Wayne County Public School System.  Annie graduated from Central High School under the leadership of Mr. W. M. Reinhart, Principal.
After graduating from high school, Annie earned and was awarded a scholarship to attend Livingston College in Salisbury, North Carolina.
After graduating from Livingston College, she earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in chemistry.  Also, she pledged and became a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha (AKA) Sorority.
Dr. McDonald earned a Master’s degree June, 1969 and a Doctoral degree June, 1974, both from New York University (NYU).
Dr. McDonald was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Lemiah Adams and Mrs. Julia Coore-Adams; her beloved son, Mr. Thomas McDonald, III; her siblings, Mrs. Amelia Adams Jones, Mr. Robert Adams, Mr. Joseph Adams and Mr. Billy Adams, Sr.
A public visitation will be held Monday, February 21, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. to 11:50 a.m. in the Britt Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 414 East Washington Street, La Grange, North Carolina 28551.

Herman was born in Lenoir County, North Carolina, January 2, 1924, to the late Mr. William Sutton and Mrs. Hannah Dawson-Sutton.
He received his education in the Lenoir County Public School System.
During Mr. Sutton’s working years, he worked as an Environmental Engineer for Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro, North Carolina.
Brother Sutton loved God, listening to church music, watching cowboy movies & Tyler Perry movies, and taking pictures with his family members and friends.  Also, he enjoyed family oriented activities such as cookouts, seeing and being around his family members and friends.  He was proud of his family and his family tree album.
Brother Sutton was preceded in death by his father and mother, Mr. William Sutton and Mrs. Hannah Dawson-Sutton; his wife, Mrs. Martha Sutton; his daughters, Joyce Smith and Linda Sutton; his brothers and his sister, William, Liller, Adrow, Annanias, Walter Bell, Chaner, Noble, Glino, Clifton, and Carl; his half siblings, Martha Sutton and Simeon Dawson.

He loved to cook and grill out.  “Uncle Bob” enjoyed listening to church music and taking pictures with his computer table.  Also, he enjoyed family outings, family cookouts, seeing and being around his family members and friends.

She received her education in the Lenoir County Public School System.
During Dollie’s younger years, she enjoyed planting and growing flowers. Also, she enjoyed listening to her favorite gospel song, “I Won’t Complain.” Mrs. Dollie loved cooking and preparing tasty desserts.
Mrs. Dollie was one who enjoyed family outing and being around family members and friends.
Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Junious Sutton and Mrs. Viola Rose Everett-Sutton; her brothers, Mr. Winston Sutton and Mr. Leroy Sutton; her sister, Mrs. Letha Mae Flowers.

He was born in Lenoir County, North Carolina, January 21, 1939, to the late Mr. Allen Sutton and Mrs. Bertha Kornegay.
He was educated in the Lenoir County School System and attended school in La Grange, North Carolina.
Mr. Sutton united with and attended Saint Matthew Free Will Baptist Church in La Grange, North Carolina.
During Mr. Sutton’s working years, he worked as a Health Care Technician for Cherry Hospital in Goldsboro, North Carolina.
Brother Sutton was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Allen Sutton and Mrs. Bertha Kornegay; his brothers, Mr. Wright Sutton, Mr. June Sutton, Mr. Dean Sutton and Mr. Joenathan Sutton; his sisters, Mrs. Bertha Whitfield, Mrs. Bettie Robinson and Mrs. Dortha Sutton.
A public visitation will be held Saturday, January 8, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. to 11:50 a.m. in the Britt Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 414 East Washington Street, La Grange, North Carolina 28551.
A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, January 8, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. in the Britt Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 414 East Washington Street, La Grange, North Carolina 28551.   Dr. Claude D. Sawyer will officiate.

She was lovingly known by her family members and friends as “Neal”.
Evangelist Sutton transitioned from labor to reward December 16, 2021 at Wayne UNC Health Care Center in Goldsboro, North Carolina.
Evelyn was born in Lenoir County, North Carolina, June 8, 1945 to the late Mr. Daniel Jackson and Mrs. Louise Dillihunt-Jackson.
She received her education in the Lenoir County Public School System.  Evelyn graduated from Adkin High School in the Class of 1963.
She furthered her education by attending Buffalo State, concentrating on African American Studies.
During Evelyn’s younger years, she enjoyed watching and playing baseball and softball.  Also, she enjoyed cooking and preparing tasty desserts.
During the 80’s, Evangelist Sutton surrendered her life to God and joined Greater Victory Apostolic Church in Kinston, North Carolina under the leadership of Bishop Benjamin F. Burton.  During Evangelist Sutton’s mature years, she was an active church member until her health declined.
Evangelist Sutton was preceded in death by her mother, Mrs. Louise Dillihunt-Jackson of Kinston, North Carolina; her father, Mr. Daniel Jackson of Kinston, North Carolina; her husband, Mr. Arden Lee Sutton of La Grange, North Carolina; her brothers, Mr. James Jackson and Mr. Alton Lee Jackson both of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
A public visitation will be held Tuesday, December 21, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the Britt Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 414 East Washington Street, La Grange, North Carolina 28551.
A celebration of life service will be held Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. in the Greater Victory Apostolic Church, 5740 US Hwy 258-South, Snow Hill, North Carolina 28580.  Bishop Benjamin F. Burton will officiate.

Deacon Taylor transitioned from labor to reward Monday, October 4, 2021 at UNC Lenoir Health Care in Kinston, North Carolina.  He was lovingly known by his daughters as “Buddy” and by his family members and friends as “Hammy.”
He was born in Smith County, Texas, July 12, 1954, to the late Mr. Ramie Ulysses Taylor and Mrs. Dorothy Ford-Taylor.
He was educated in the Smith County School System. He graduated from John Tyler High School in 1972. He furthered his education at Montgomery Community College in Takoma Park, Maryland.
During Deacon Taylor’s life, he united with and attended Mount Olive Baptist Church of Tyler, Texas.  Years later, he united with Living Hope Church Ministries of Kinston, NC.
During Deacon Taylor’s working years, he worked as a Store Manager for Food Lion in Kinston, North Carolina.   Also, he worked at Masterbrand Cabinets until officially retiring in January, 2017. Deacon Taylor was a business man.  God blessed him with the knowledge to own his own lawn care business, “Hammy’s Lawn Service.”
Deacon loved grilling!  He was the family’s backbone.  “Buddy” enjoyed those “Dallas Cowboys,” family outings, family cookouts, seeing and being around his children, his grandchild, family members and friends.
Deacon Taylor was preceded in death by his sister, Mrs. El Doris Jones; his two brothers, Mr. Raymond Taylor and Mr. Ivan Keith Taylor.

Mr. Randy enjoyed listening to music and watching movies.  He was a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys, drag racing and car shows.  He loved family cookouts and caring for his family members and friends.
Brother Davis was preceded in death by his parents, Bennie and Mary Rose Davis; his daughter, Tiawanda Poole and his sister, Mary (Bay) Edwards.
A public visitation will be held Saturday, September 11, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. to 11:50 a.m. in the Britt Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 414 East Washington Street, La Grange, North Carolina 28551.
Also, a Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, September 11, 2021, at 12:00 p.m. in the Britt Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 414 East Washington Street, La Grange, North Carolina 28551.  Reverend Michelle Davis will officiate.

He leaves to rejoice his life legacy and love to one daughter, Mrs. Lakiya Cherry and husband, Mr. Marcus Cherry, of Jacksonville, North Carolina; his son, Mr. Patrick Davis of Jacksonville, North Carolina; his brother, Mr. Bennie Davis of Seven Springs, North Carolina; his sister, Mrs. Darlene Davis of Seven Springs, North Carolina; his grandchildren, Keyonte Poole, Kishawna Bell, Hezekiah Poole, Jayden Poole, and Marcus Cherry Jr; his aunt, Mrs. Yvonne and Lee Curry; his uncle, Mr. Eugene Rose; his nieces, Michelle Davis and Maria Davis; his nephews, Bennell Garner, Speedy Whitfield, Donte Edwards,  Ryan Davis and Owen Davis; numerous cousins and a host of other family members and friends who loves him and will cherish his memory.

Mother Walker retired after many years of dedicated service to the New York Department of Social Service.

During Brother Guilford’s spiritual walk in life, he was a faithful member of Post Oak Freewill Baptist Church in Kinston, North Carolina.
During his working years, Guilford was employed with Sleepy Creek Turkey Hatchery and he retired after 36 years of dedicated service.
Brother Guilford was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Elymous Moore, Sr. and Mrs. Verna West-Moore; three sisters, Mrs. Ruby Gardner, Mrs. AnnieBell Patrick, and Mrs. Gwendolyn Smith; four brothers, Mr. Elymous Moore Jr., Mr. William Earl Moore, Mr. Alexander Moore and Mr. Alonza Henry Moore.

Apostle Dr. Goodall transitioned from labor to reward February 12, 2021 at her residence, surrounded by her family.
She was born in Lenoir County, North Carolina, November 9, 1970 to the late Mr. Fountain Williams and Mrs. Betty Murphy.
Apostle Dr. Goodall received her education in the Lenoir County Public School System.  She graduated from North Lenoir High School in the Class of 1989.
Dr. Goodall continued her professional education by attending Lenoir Community College, Grand Canyon University and St. Thomas Christian University, earning her doctoral degree.
Dr. Goodall was an active educator. She taught in the Lenoir County Public School System.
During her younger life, she met, dated and married the love of her life, Apostle Maurice Goodall. To that union, three beautiful daughters were born.
