Virginia Abrogena - March 05, 1949 - March 13, 2024

Departed: 03/13/2024 (Tampa)
Obituary Preview: Virginia P. Abrogena, born March 5, 1949 in Lagangilang, Abra, Philippines.
Resided in Tampa, Florida, passed away on March 13, 2024, in Dade City, FL. She came to the United States as a registered nurse in the early 70s, seeking “The American Dream.” She accomplished that and obtained her United States citizenship in 2012. Virginia is predeceased by her Father, Venancio Bolayong Progreso, her mother, Matea Vidal Progreso, her oldest brother, Redemptor Progreso, and youngest brother Cristeto "Imbit" Progreso. She is survived by her forever love, Mariano “Joe” Abrogena, her daughter, Martina Abrogena, her son- in-law, Earl Rodriguez, her grandsons Seth and Zach Rodriguez, her younger brother, Solomon Progreso Sr., her sisters-in-law, Concepcion Cainglit, Linda Calaramo, Lolita Galam, Norma Belarmino, and Araceli Progreso. She will also be celebrated by her extended family and her foster children, Sheba, Charmaine,
Bong, Mary Ann, Frank, Michael and Karen. Friends will be received on Friday, March 22, 2024, from 1 pm to 2 pm at the Seven Hills Chapel of Brewer & Sons Funeral Home. The service will be officiated by Pastor Dan Clemens of Countryside Christian Church. She will be laid to rest at
the Historic Masaryktown Cemetery following the service. Virginia grew up in Lagangilang, Abra, Philippines. As her family fondly calls her, Virgie was a sickly middle child out of four children and the only daughter. Due to these circumstances, she was kept at home helping with her mother's convenience store. One of her biggest complaints during her childhood was that her mother was so busy with the store that she didn't receive much attention. She took advantage of her mother’s inattention to swipe candies and chocolates from their store. Because of this, she had a lot of cavities and would tell her grandkids not to overeat chocolate or sweets. Otherwise, they would end up like her and
have dentures. Virgie attended Holy Cross School for primary and secondary schooling. She would continue her education by enrolling into St. Catherine’s nursing school and
would later graduate from Arellano University with a bachelor's degree in nursing. While in college, Virgie would meet her best friend who would later become her
daughter’s mother-in-law. She would also meet her future husband.
Virgie came to the United States in the early 70’s as a nurse in Chicago, Illinois. When her contract ended, she went back to the Philippines. In 1978, she and her
college suitor, Mariano, were married. She struggled with infertility for six years. Virgie would eventually have a daughter, Martina Cortessa, nicknamed “Lucky” in
1983 with the help of Clomid. In 1990, due to the Gulf War, her husband, a mechanical engineer, was forced to return to the Philippines; the family's primary source of income was cut even though Virginia was working as a nurse at Abra Provincial Hospital. The income
she brought to the family was not enough to cover the essentials. Due to her family’s financial constraints, Virginia sought “The American Dream” by emigrating to Pahokee, Florida, in 1991 to provide for her family. She would eventually live in Gainesville, Florida where Mariano and Martina would later join
her in 1995. After three years, at the suggestion of her college friend, the whole family moved
to Tampa, Florida, where they've resided since then. In 2005, to Virginia's pride and joy, her daughter, Martina graduated from the University of South Florida with her bachelor's in nursing. In 2005, Virginia reconnected with her college best friend and bunkmate; their children were married five years later, linking them further. Six years later, in 2016, Virginia's first grandson was born, and she would often babysit for him until her arthritis got worse. Two years later, she would undergo open-heart surgery, and she was
out of the hospital in less than a week. In 2019, her second grandson was born. Her family was her life and inspiration, and though she was suffering, she tried to
endure her pain. Virginia was a retired registered nurse from St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tampa. She also worked at Kindred Hospital and Bayshore Pointe Rehab Facility, formerly known as Mariner Rehab Facility. She was a shopaholic whether it was clothes, bags, make-up, perfume, or food. She would shop until she dropped. She was a generous relative; she often worked extra hours to have something to send to her less fortunate relatives in the Philippines. She was hospitable, caring, and loved to cook. She would have loved to travel more. Unfortunately, her rheumatoid and
osteoarthritis held her back. Virginia was a devout Christian. Before her death, she was a member of the Countryside Chrisitan Church and a lifetime member of the United Church of
Christ in the Philippines.

Francis "Jack" J. MaCauley, III - July 09, 1934 - February 17, 2024

Departed: 02/17/2024 (Tampa)
Obituary Preview: Good Friend, Loving Father, PopPop and Great Grand-father,
Francis “Jack” John Macauley III, 89, of Clearwater, Florida, went to be in the presence of Our LORD CHRIST JESUS on February 17, 2024. *******
Jack was a very happy man during his last three decades of life when I came to know him well. He believed himself to be more than lucky, regularly declaring himself lucky and blessed. Frequently saying, upon reflection, “I have been lucky all my life.” He meant it; he believed it. Jack was a born storyteller, enjoying every opportunity to talk about his favorite bits of family history. He was very proud of his Irish heritage and loved to share stories about it.
Talking to people, friends and strangers alike, was one of Jack’s favorite pastimes. Whether walking the length of Clearwater Beach or around the Eastend of St. Thomas, he stopped to talk to everyone he saw as he walked by. Usually, he entertained them while talking about his niece, Erika Robuck, and her latest works of historical fiction. Once, I was able to point out to him that Erika gave a special ‘shout out’ to her Uncle Jack in the acknowledgments section of one of her books. He smiled long and hard at that, again feeling lucky and blessed.
Due to his many and varied life experiences, Jack knew a little something about almost everything, and he truly enjoyed sharing his knowledge and experience with all who asked. He derived great satisfaction from helping the people who turned to him.
When Jack slowed down due to health and vision concerns, his loving daughter Donna came and showed him great love and joy, taking care of his needs with grace so he was able to transition this world still feeling both lucky and blessed. With love to an amazing spirit, Carol G. Hurst St. Thomas, VI *****
Jack was preceded in death by his son, who he loved, Gregory L. Macauley.
Jack is survived by his very special Friend, Carol Hurst, and his Children, Grand Children and Great Grand Children. Jack Macauley’s Children, Sharon Tary (Nick Tary) Jackie Francis John Macauley IV (Linda Macauley) DonnaJoy Triolo Deceased Gregory L. Macauley (living Sa Sukanya Macauley) PopPop’s Grand Children Dino Perakis Logan Perakis Tess Schmitt (Phil Schmitt) Shelby Triolo Johnson (Scott Johnson) Jack Thomas Triolo PopPop’s Great Grand Children Zara Eleni Perakis John William Schmitt Thomas Ferrell Schmitt After Greg died, my Daddy and I grew very close! His favorite names were Daddy, Dad, PopPop, Uncle Jack, Irish, and Jack. I noticed my Daddy was a loyal friend. His inner circle of forever friends light up when they share their “Jack-Stories”. 100% of the time his friends tell me about how his positive friendly enthusiastic attitude, kindness, listening, showing up and his story telling fun loving way developed into a forever friendship and he helped them on their path. His nephew, Rick, said, Uncle Jack, you are a good and rare man. Uncle Jack you helped me on my path and I am grateful and love you.” I noticed Daddy’s growing faith in GOD softened him over the years. We talked about everything. You know I love JESUS so much. I loved sharing my faith with him, we talked about JESUS often. On October 2022, Jack broke his left elbow and Chaplin Keenan came into his Morton Plant Hospital room. Chaplin Keenan, laughed and connected and talked about the Kingdom of GOD and about JESUS with Daddy. Chaplain Keenan prayed with Jack and me. And that evening, Jack repented and called on the Name of The LORD CHRIST JESUS. GOD is So loving and GOOD, JESUS calls Jack Friend! I love and miss you Daddy. Donna GOD, THE HOLY SPIRIT blesses and gives me assurance that JESUS calls my Daddy Friend. I know Saturday, GOD Our FATHER welcomed my Daddy into His Kingdom of Love. I believe and know JESUS calls Daddy Friend, because JESUS says, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the LORD shall be saved. “ Romans 10:13 – 15. And in John 11: 25-26 JESUS said , I AM the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in Me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in Me will never die. Do you believe this? Jack does and I am so glad. 😊

New Jersy and came here 8 years ago from Houston Texas.
Pamela is predeceased by her father Charles Montanye and mother Madel Montaye. Pamela is survived by her loving husband, Nick Edwards, daughter Brittany Montaye, sister Sharon Montanye-Goto, brother-in-law Myles Goto, nephews Michael Goto and Matthew Goto, sister Wanda Montanye, nephew Eric Montanye, aunt Joan Roberta Mugua, cousin Michael Montanye, Scott and Lisa
McGary mother and father-in-law as well as many more cousins, aunts and uncles. Pam loved the outdoors. She loved the beach. We spent many hours sitting on our patio and watching the birds and squirrels. In just the past few years, we both came to appreciate nature in ways that were new to us. Pam loved having our little vegetable garden on the patio and was so happy each time a
tomato or pepper would appear. Before we met in 2009, Pam had a colorful life and touched the hearts of so many people. She could make anyone smile, even the most stubborn. I wish I could tell every story she told me over the years, but there’s just not enough space. Pam was an excellent musician and could sing any song you requested, and sing it well. She loved her music and playing guitar as well as her keyboard. She had a natural talent for music. She also loved doing crafts. She made beautiful wreaths with seashells, sea shell
earrings and many other decorative items. In 2011, I was hired for my current job. We left Phoenix around the end of March and headed to Houston where we would reside for five years. We vacation in Tampa Florida sometime ins 2014. My mom, sister and brother-in-law lived in Tampa at the time and Pam fell in love with the area. In Feb 2016, I finally had the opportunity to transfer to Tampa. Pam was thrilled. I remember how happy she
was to get out of Houston. Pam had so many friends, I wish I could name them all. I would like to mention some people that were very important to her and she spoke of often, Tod & Pam Andrews, Rick Thogode and Family, Theresa
Dunn-Hudgins, The Barry’s, All of her childhood friends from Jackson New Jersy.
