Duane F. Kahler - October 18, 1930 - April 24, 2024

Obituary Preview: Duane F. Kahler, 93, of Mendon, MO, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at his home in Mendon, MO. A memorial graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at Newcomer Cemetery in Mendon, MO at 11:00 A.M. Full military honors will be provided by Brunswick American Legion Post #7.
Duane was born on October 18, 1930, in Mendon, MO, the son of Theodore Julius and Helen Irene (Fletcher) Kahler. He attended the Newcomer Grade School and graduated from Mendon High School. On January 14, 1953, Duane was inducted into the United States Army. During his time of service, he earned the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. Duane honorably served his country until December 28, 1954.
On October 7, 1962, Duane was united in marriage to Barbara Shoop at the Rothville Methodist Church. Together they were blessed with four children, Lisa, Lori, Randy, and Leslie.
Duane was a lifelong row crop and cattle farmer, he hauled propane for Mendon Gas and Electric, and after his retirement in 1992, he helped several local farmers in the Brunswick and Mendon areas. He was a true steward of the land. Duane loved spending time at the family cabin at the lake in Warsaw. He also enjoyed fishing for paddlefish and catfish, deer hunting, riding motorcycles, feeding and watching birds and squirrels, powered paragliding, chopping wood, riding his side by side, and getting coffee every afternoon with his friends in Mendon. Duane was a member of the Brunswick American Legion Post #7.
Duane is survived by his wife of the home, Barbara; his four children, Lisa Hayes and her husband Rick of Brunswick, MO, Lori Berger and her husband Scott of Sedalia, MO, Randy Kahler of Sedalia, MO, and Leslie McMahon of Lenexa, KS; nine grandchildren, Danielle Hamilton and her husband Michael, Caleb Hayes, Patrick Berger, Colin Berger, Teagan Berger, Paige Kahler, Gage Kahler, Mikahl McMahon, and Caran McMahon; three great-grandchildren, Addison Hamilton, Emerson Hamilton, and Cooper Hayes; and his cat, Frazier.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Helen, and his son-in-law, Jeff McMahon.
Honorary pallbearers will be Rob Aldinger, Matt Wolken, Bob Gladbach, John Sanders, Mike Tate, and Larry Knopasek.

Monke, as he was known by his family and friends, was born on February 1, 1951, in Moberly, MO, the son of Ludwig Joseph and Leona Frances (Hess) Moser. He attended Brunswick High School and later earned his GED. On February 6, 1970, Monke enlisted in the United States Army. During his service he earned the National Defense Service Medal and the Parachute Badge. He honorably served his country until February 7, 1972.
On September 26, 1986, he was united in marriage to Tammy Spencer in Keytesville, MO. Together they were blessed with six children, James, Ludwig, Josh, David Matthew, Samantha, and Landon.
Monke was a lifelong, second-generation carpenter who served the Chariton County community until his retirement in 2016. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed hunting deer, turkey, and quail, fishing for catfish, and tending to his garden.
Monke is survived by his beloved wife of the home, Tammy; his six children, J.M. Moser and his wife Charleen of Lathrop, MO, Ludwig Moser and his wife Lori of Brunswick, MO, Josh Moser and his wife Kimberly of Bogard, MO, David Matthew Moser and his wife Shana of Brunswick, MO, Samantha Moser and her significant other, Darren Cooper, of Brunswick, MO, and Landon Moser and his significant other, Tori Oropeza, of Brookfield, MO; eighteen grandchildren, Jacob Dwayne, Hunter Ray, Reann Leona, Jillian Lane, Ludwig Mason, Levi Nolan, Owen Avery, Seele Reed, Genivieve Gale, Chase Xavier, Braxton Nichols, Khorus David, Lyrik Tyler, Audio Lee, Micah Guy, Ophelia Mae, Atlas Wayne, and Memphis Reign; one great-grandchild, Sailor Josephine; seven siblings, Joe Moser and his wife Lettitia of Brunswick, MO, John Moser of Keytesville, MO, Ronald Moser and his wife Joann of Columbia, MO, Jim Moser of Higbee, MO, Judy Price and her husband Rick of Eugene, MO, Mary Ann Snodgrass and her husband Ed of Clinton, MO, and Barbara Spencer and her husband Mitch of Mendon, MO; and he is also survived by one sister-in-law, Sandi Moser of NJ.

After high school Reba worked as a waitress at Putsch’s Cafeteria at Blue Ridge Mall in Kansas City, MO and then worked at the Sheltered Workshop in Keytesville, MO.
Reba loved drawing, watching TV, animals, shopping, and spending time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews. She was a baptized member of the Brunswick First Christian Church.
Reba is survived by her sister, Rhonda Widhalm and her husband Dennis of Brunswick, MO; two nephews, Aaron Widhalm and his wife Cherilyn of Pleasant Hill, MO and Jason Widhalm and his wife Elaine of Brunswick, MO; one niece, Andrea Elliott and her husband Robie of Oak Grove, MO; four great-nephews, Trey Widhalm, Cole Elliott, Easton Elliott, and Max Widhalm; two great-nieces, Aby Widhalm and Camrey Widhalm; and she is also survived by several cousins.

Thomas was a jack-of-all-trades who enjoyed farming, working on cars, fishing, watching NASCAR, and loved nothing more than spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of the First Baptist Church.
Thomas is survived by his beloved children, Chaka Brown, Michelle Brown, and Lavon Brown and his wife Goldie all of Brunswick, MO, Kerigan Watson and her husband Johnathan of Boonville, MO, Kaitlyn Wells of Oklahoma, and Thomas Williams Jr. of Columbia, MO; fifteen grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and six siblings, Celesta Mays and her husband Glen of Clinton, MO, Vaneita McDonalds and her husband David of Liberty, MO, Lutrissia Williams of Columbia, MO, Stefan Williams of Columbia, MO, Cassandra Williams of St. Louis, MO, and Vincent Williams of Creighton, MO.

Ruthmary was born December 8, 1923 to Chant and Frances Robertson of Triplett, Missouri. She joined two brothers and a sister, Rex, Gerald, and Beverly Robertson. Except for a time after her high school graduation when she and her sister went to Kansas City to work, she spent her life in the area of her birth.
In 1945 she married W.D. Price in the Methodist Parsonage in Brunswick, Missouri. They were the parents of three children, Nancy Blair of Higginsville, Missouri, Lynn Price (deceased) and Cheryl Keim of Cameron, Missouri.
Ruthmary was the loving grandmother to six grandchildren. Stephanie Morgan (Greg) of Higginsville, Missouri, Tyler Keim (Michelle) of Wichita, Kansas, Erin Groves (Chris) of Dunmor, Kentucky, Brandon Gilley of Austin, Texas, Ryan Gilley (Carissa) of Austin, Texas and Baylie Keim of Chicago, Illinois. Ruthmary also was a great grandmother to Amanda Morgan, Kaela Keim, Paige Lewis, Isaac Combs, Gavin Smith, Aubrey Smith, Addison Keim, Chase Keim and Dean Keim.
Ruthmary was a 78 year member of Warren Chapter OES and had received her 75 year pin. She was also a member of the Brunswick Methodist Church.
Ruthmary was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, husband, son Lynn, son-in-law Bob Blair and great granddaughter Amanda Morgan.
Ruthmary’s love for animals was always evident. She talked of her horse Spot that she rode while living on the farm with her parents. She also always had a special dog or cat throughout her time here on Earth.

Pam, as she was known by her family and friends, was born on May 28, 1944 in Triplett, MO, the daughter of Luther and Helen (Stephens) Stark. She graduated from Brunswick High School in 1962, earned her associate degree from Stephen's College in Columbia, MO, her bachelor's in education science from the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO, and then earned her master's in education from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in Kansas City, MO. In April of 1975, she was united in marriage to Jay Tietjens at the Christian Church in Brunswick, MO. After 31 years of marriage, he preceded her in passing on October 24, 2006. Pam was a life-long educator who spent the majority of her teaching career at Fort Osage in Independence, MO, where she taught for 30 years until her retirement in 1997. Pam was a member of the Brunswick Methodist Church, a member of the Missouri State Teachers Association, a member of the National Education Association, the President of the local PEO chapter, a Silver Hair Legislator, a member of Daughter's of the American Revolution, an American Legion Axillary member, and she was on the Brunswick Alumni Executive Committee as the Nominating Committee Chairman. She was an avid reader who loved photography, traveling, quilting, learning, playing cards, and being active in our community. She is survived by her sister, Susan Landers and her husband Terry of Raytown, MO; her significant other, Larry Stephenson of Triplett, MO; her aunt, Almira Stephens of Brookfield; one niece, Rene Purtee and her husband Larry of Raytown, MO; one nephew, Charles Landers and his wife Rachel of Valrico, FL; five great-nephews; one great-niece; one great-great-niece, Hadley Vandeventer; her friend, Ashley Ousley; and she is also survived by numerous cousins. Mary Frances was born on July 20, 1944 in Indian Grove, MO, the daughter of Charlie and Helen (Westhoff) Clavin. She attended St. Boniface Catholic School and graduated from Brunswick High School in 1962. On January 2, 1965, she was united in marriage to Wendel Fox at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Brunswick, MO. Together they were blessed with six children, Greg, Sheri, Julie, Kathy, Nancy, and Beverly. After 18 years of marriage, Wendel preceded her in passing on May 2, 1983. Mary Frances was a lifelong farmer, a homemaker during her kids' youth, and later held several cooking and cleaning jobs throughout the community. While her kids were growing up, Mary Frances ran a small dairy business selling fresh cows milk, handmade butter and cottage cheese for many years after Wendel gifted her her first milk cow as a birthday gift. After his death, she ended the dairy business to allow her to obtain full time employment. She was the cook at the Chariton County jail until her retirement at the age of 70. This allowed her to make many law enforcement friends from all parts of the state. Her cookies and brownies were a favorite of highway patrolmen and friends working in the courthouse. Although she will be remembered by many as a good cook, she was best known for her kindness to others. Having gone through many trials in her own life, she was able to give support and comfort to others who needed it. Her kindness, true compassion and unwavering Catholic faith is the legacy she leaves behind. She was a dedicated member of St. Raphael Catholic Church in Indian Grove, MO. She served on the St. Raphael Church Council, the St. Raphael Cemetery Board, and was a Chariton County Democratic Committee Woman. Mary Frances loved sewing, quilting, cooking, working on the farm, and spending time with her family. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, the most precious were times spent with her on her farm. William Everett “Bill” Gann - September 06, 1936 - December 30, 2023

Bill, as he was known by his family and friends, was born on September 6, 1936 in Brunswick, MO, the son of William and Mary (Mason) Gann. He graduated from Brunswick High School in 1954. On September 28, 1954, he enlisted into the United States Air Force. During his time of service, he earned the Good Conduct Medal with 2 Bars, the Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbon, Air Force 900-10 Award, and the Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon. Bill honorably served his country until October 9, 1964.
On July 2, 1955, Bill was united in marriage to Connie Dee DeWeese, at the Brunswick Baptist Church. Together they were blessed with two daughters, Rhonda and Reba. After his military service, Bill worked for the United States Postal Service in Kansas City, MO and then transferred to the Post Office in Marceline, MO where he became the Post Master. He worked in Marceline until his retirement in 1991.
Bill was a member of the Brunswick Christian Church and the Brunswick American Legion Post #7. He loved spending time with family and friends, and especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports.
Bill is survived by his two daughters, Rhonda Widhalm and her husband Dennis or Brunswick, MO and Reba Gann of Lexington, MO; three grandchildren, Aaron Widhalm and his wife Cherilyn of Pleasant Hill, MO, Andrea Elliott and her husband Robie of Oak Grove, MO, and Jason Widhalm and his wife Elaine of Brunswick, MO; and six great-grandchildren, Trey Widhalm, Aby Widhalm, Cole Elliott, Easton Elliott, Max Widhalm, and Camrey Widhalm.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Connie, and his Great-Grandson, Cameron Widhalm.

Richard's 8th grade year he decided to join the Navy so he could help his parents raise his siblings. He completed basic training to never be called for active duty. Gene worked at Banquet Foods in Carrollton, MO for 25 years and then mowed yards and cemeteries. On December 29, 1950, he was united in marriage to Delores Jean Adams. Together they had five children, Connie, Donnie Joe, Larry, Deana, and Jeana. During Richard's free time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, wood carving, and tinkering with anything he could get his hands on, including making himself a tooth from a piece of plastic (for his dentures). Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Delores Jean (Adams) Hughes; one son, Donnie Joe Hughes; one daughter, Linda Hamlet; six brothers, Victor "Dick" Hughes, David "Tubby" Hughes, Raymond "Bud" Hughes, Clifford "Cliff" Hughes, Charles "Chuck" Hughes, and James "Eddie" Hughes; and one sister, Eva Hughes; he was also preceded in death by two siblings, a set of twins, who died in infancy; and one son-in-law, Marty Darrah. Bernard or BL, as he was known to his family and friends, was born on June 4, 1936 in Virginia, MN to Emma (Windhauser) and Delor Venne. He graduated from Mountain Iron High School in 1954. On July 8, 1959, he enlisted in the United States Army and served his nation until being honorably discharged on July 7, 1961. On November 30, 1963, he was united in marriage to Illa Durby in Iowa. Together they raised Barney, Judy, PJ, Jim, Jean, Elsie, and Rodney. Illa preceded him in passing on September 17, 1998.
BL was a lifelong trucker until his retirement. He loved visiting with family and friends, fishing, playing cards, being outside, and playing bingo. He was a member of the Malta Bend American Legion Post #558.
BL is survived by his four stepchildren, Jim Freel and his wife Roxanne of Nevada, IA, Jean Williams of Marshall, MO, Elsie Roberts of Brunswick, MO, and Rodney Griffith of Doha, Qatar; eight grandchildren; seven greatgrandchildren; several brothers; and he is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Ernie, as he was known by his family and friends, was born on August 5, 1929 in Miami Station, Carroll County, MO, the son of Herbert and Iona (Lewis) Henderson. He attended Sumner High School in Sumner, MO. After high school Ernie was called to serve his country and on April 29, 1947, he enlisted into the United States Army. He originally served from 1947 - 1949. He later reenlisted on January 5, 1961. During his time of service he earned the expert rifle badges with the M-1 and the M-14, the good conduct medal, the national defense service medal, the Vietnam service medal, the Vietnam campaign medal with Device (1960), and the Army commendation medal. He honorably served his country until he retired as a Seargent 1st Class in 1978.
On February 14, 1961, at midnight, Ernie married Doris Jean Truesdale in Independence, MO. Doris preceded him in passing on May 27, 1974. He was later united in marriage to Effie Moore. On June 15, 1976, they were blessed with a son, Christopher. She preceded him in passing in 2013.
Ernie was the owner and operator of a trucking business who drove for private industry and for the Federal government. He continued to drive his truck until his retirement in 2017. Ernie loved spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed going to the casino. He was a member of the Methodist Church in Brunswick, MO.
Ernie is survived by his son, Christopher Henderson of Lamar, MO; one grandson, Kaden Sportsman of Lamar, MO; two siblings, Verna Mae Spencer of Brunswick, MO and Donna Henderson of Jefferson City, MO; his dog, Sandy; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Iona Henderson; his wives, Doris and Effie; one brother, Herbert Henderson; one sister-in-law, Betty Henderson; and two brothers-in-law, Guy Spencer and Roy Womack.
Pallbearers will be David Link, Greg Elliott, Mike Spencer, Jan Casebolt, JR McLaughlin, and Kaden Sportsman. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Dale Littrell, Allen Phillips, Mitch Spencer, Lonnie Henderson, Tyna McLaughlin, Gina Sutton, and Delana Grosvenor.

James was born on September 8, 1942 in rural Brunswick, MO, the son of Lloyd "Bud" and Evolene (Rutliff) Jenkins. He graduated from Brunswick High School in 1960.
James worked in the airline industry his entire career. He began working on the tarmac loading bags and eventually worked his way into a supervisory role at the ticket counter. He worked for Ozark Airlines and then finished his career with TWA.
James was a history buff who loved spending time with his friends and family, traveling around the world, and volunteering at the Frontiers of Flight Museum in Dallas, TX, which he did 3-4 times a month. He was a member of the Brunswick United Methodist Church and attended Lakeside Baptist Church in Lewisville, TX for many years. James was also a member of the Corvette Club in Dallas, TX.
James is survived by two nieces, Brenda Beckner and her husband, Ken, of Topeka, KS and Cheryl Sands and her husband, Greg, of Lees Summit, MO; two great nephews, Jameson Beckner and his wife, Courtney, of Topeka, KS and Joel Beckner and his wife, Kelsey, of Lindsborg, KS; three great nieces, Lauren Waller and her husband, Jason, of Lindsborg, KS, Kristin Keller and her husband, Brandon, of Kansas City, MO, and Courtney Hilton and her husband, Grant, of Prairie Village, KS; one sister-in-law, Carolyn Jenkins of Blue Springs, MO; and he is also survived by thirteen great-great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Evolene, and one brother, Duane Jenkins.

She loved spending time with her family, cooking, baking, decorating her home, cross stitch, sewing, and making slide shows. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Brunswick, MO.
Patricia is survived by two daughters, Bobbie Jean Buchko and her husband, Dwayne, of Brunswick, MO and Myra Schaar of Daleville, AL; six grandchildren; Robert J. Fernandez, Mindy R. After graduating, Thelma worked for Prudential Life Insurance Company in Kansas City, KS for five years.
On August 21, 1948, she married the love of her life, Les Heisel, in Kansas City, KS. Together they were blessed with one daughter, Shirley Joanna "Joey" Heisel. After 74 years of marriage, Les preceded her in passing on March 10, 2023.
After working for Prudential and getting married, Thelma became a proud farmer's wife who loved working on the farm, taking care of her family, adopting every stray animal she could find, traveling the world, dancing, and playing cards with her friends.
She was a faithful member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Brunswick, MO. She was also a member of Tri-T, Sigma Phi Gamma, Lutheran Women's Missionary League, Newcomer Club, Modern Homebuilders, and taught Sunday School and Wednesday School.
Thelma is survived by her daughter, Joey Tomlin of Jefferson City, MO; one granddaughter, Abigail Anton and her husband Clark of Columbia, MO; three great-grandchildren, Maeve and Callan Anton of Columbia, MO and Olivia Tucker of Nebraska; she is also survived by two nieces, Carey Chamber and Dr. Margaret Heisel.
She was preceded in death by her parents, R.P. and Rose; her beloved husband, Les; one grandson, Gabriel Tucker; one brother-in-law, Orland Heisel; one niece, Dr. Mary Jane Heisel; and one son-in-law, John Tomlin.

Glyn was born on September 10, 1945 in rural St. James, MO, the son of Lester and Naomi (Groves) Norris. In 1963, he graduated from Northwestern High School in Mendon, MO. On November 15, 1965, Glyn enlisted into the United States Air Force. During his time of service, he earned the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. Glyn honorably served his country until February 17, 1969.
On December 9, 1977, Glyn was united in marriage to the love of his life, Alma Beesack, in Brunswick, MO. After 41 years of marriage, Alma preceded him in passing on July 15, 2019.
Glyn worked at and later managed various agricultural facilities from 1969 until his retirement in 2015. After his retirement, Glyn worked for the Brunswick, Triplett, and Bowling Green townships. Glyn was a volunteer firefighter for several years and was a member of the Brunswick Christian Church.
Glyn loved doing anything to make people smile and laugh and thought that it was important to not take life too seriously. He loved tinkering in his shop, restoring Minneapolis Moline Tractors, fishing, and attending tractor pulls. He enjoyed serving as the "Captain" of his boat for his family during the summer and turning his home into a spectacle of lights during Christmas time. He also enjoyed simple pleasures like putting puzzles together, swinging on the front porch, and bird watching. The way Glyn lived his life was an example to all who interacted with him to slow down, enjoy the little things, and never stop laughing.

Wendy attended the United Methodist Church in Brunswick, MO. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed scrapbooking, crafting, antiquing, and refurbishing antiques.

After 60 years of marriage, Elmer preceded her in passing on Tuesday, August 26, 2014.
Marlene worked for Kansas City Power and Light in Brunswick, MO for two years, was a homemaker, and a lifelong farmer with her husband, Elmer. She was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church in Brunswick, MO, a previous member of the Shepherd of the Hills Church in Fayette, MO, Braille Workers, Dalton Heritage, Dalton Homebuilders, and a member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML). She loved taking care of her family and enjoyed reading, sewing, embroidering, hunting, fishing, and gardening.

Gene was assigned to the 506th Infantry Regiment during the Korean War. During his service, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal. He honorably served his country until February 11, 1955.
On September 4, 1956, Gene married the love of his life, Carolyn Sue Virginia Saunders, in Triplett, MO. Together they were blessed with six children, Winafred, Charles, Audrey, Leashia, Perry, and Kevin.
Gene was a lifelong farmhand who loved his family and friends. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, being a home mechanic, and gardening. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Triplett, MO and attended the First Baptist Church in Brunswick, MO. Gene was also a member of the Brunswick American Legion Post #7 and a staunch supporter of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Wright, at the Methodist Church in Brunswick, MO. Together they were blessed with one daughter, Vicky, and one son, Kelly. Kelly preceded her in passing on November 17, 1978 and G.B. preceded her in passing on February 9, 2006.
Ruth worked as a telephone operator for Western Light and Telephone in Brunswick, MO, was a secretary for the Ohio Telephone Company, and worked for the State of Ohio Division of Family Services as a caseworker until 1975, which is when their family moved back to Missouri. Ruth then began working for the State of Missouri Division of Family Service as a caseworker and continued to work there until her retirement in 1991. Ruth was a Christian who loved spending time with her family and also loved gardening. She would maintain a garden in the house during the cold winter months and then would keep a huge flower and vegetable garden during the warm summer months.
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Victoria Antonucci; one grandson, Matthew Wright, and his wife, Christina, of Buffalo, WY; two grandchildren, Tyler Wright of Buffalo, WY and Bryan Parker of Alton, IL; and one brother, Norman Marquess, and his wife, Mary Ann, of Kansas City, MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rolland and Thelma; her beloved husband, G.B.; her son, Kelly Wright; and a brother, Wayne Marquess.

The family will receive friends immediately after the service in the basement of the church from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. Burial will be held in Elliott Grove Cemetery at a later date.
Charlie, as he was known by his family and friends, was born on September 15, 1941, in rural Brunswick, MO, the son of Paul and Halcy (Swan) Richardson. He graduated from Brunswick High School in 1959. On June 9, 1968, Charlie married the love of his life, Llenell Rhoades, at the Baptist Church in Brunswick, MO. Together they were blessed with three children, Tara, William, and Matthew.
Charlie was a lifelong farmer, was a substitute school bus driver for Brunswick, Keytesville, and Mendon for several years before becoming a full-time bus driver for Brunswick, which he did for 15 years. He also was an oil truck driver for Roy Minks and then Wayne Smith.
Charlie was a member of the Brunswick Christian Church in Brunswick, MO, Arrowhead Saddle Club, and a member of Missouri Farm Bureau. He was very active in the community and served as the trustee of the Brunswick Christian Church for 20 years, the trustee of the Brunswick Township Board, and the Secretary/Treasurer for the Rural Fire Board for 50 years. Charlie loved watching his granddaughter's sports and other activities, loved the outdoors, working on the farm, volunteering, and watching old westerns.
Charlie is survived by his beloved wife of the home, Llenell; his three children, Tara Richardson of Columbia, MO, William Richardson and his wife Amie Schmidt of Brunswick, MO, and Matthew Richardson of Brunswick, MO; two grandchildren, Addilynn and Emery Richardson; one sister, Dorothy Stuebben and her husband Chris of Columbia, MO; his mother-in-law, Joann Becker of Brunswick, MO; and two nieces, Dr. Paula Stuebben and her husband Tim Bach and Suzanne Stuebben and her husband Don Hinshaw, all of Columbia, MO.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Halcy, and his father-in-law, Willis Rhoades.

Rick, as he was known by his family and friends, was born on January 13, 1943, in Brunswick, MO, the son of Vernon and Lauraetta (Underwood) Wohlgemuth. He graduated from Bosworth High School in 1961 and attended Southwest Missouri State University. On March 31, 1964, he enlisted into the United States Army. During his service he earned the Expert Marksman Badge (Rifle M-14). He honorably served his country until February 3, 1965.
On May 16, 1969, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Nancy Jackson, at the Christian Church in Triplett, MO. Together they were blessed with two sons, Gerald and John. Rick was a lifelong farmer, drove a school bus for 30 years for Bosworth, and drove a truck for Waller Trucking for 13 years. He was a 50-year Mason out of the Bosworth and Hale Masonic Lodges and was a member of the Triplett Christian Church. Rick loved spending time with his family, hunting, hummingbirds, and gossiping every morning with the Brunswick Coffee Club.
Rick is survived by his beloved wife of the home, Nancy; his two sons, Gerald Wohlgemuth and his wife Lorie of Huntsville, MO and John Wohlgemuth and his wife Deana of Brunswick, MO; and five grandchildren, Jackson, Jason, Wesley, Dakota, and Lance.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Lauraetta.

She also loved cooking, baking bread, entertaining family and friends in her home, long conversations, drinking coffee, reading, sending cards, journaling, eating out, traveling, and in earlier years, going to the lake.
