Jean Pawlak - October 12, 1928 - April 28, 2024

Obituary Preview: Jean Pawlak, previously of Antigo, passed away on April 28, 2024 at Autumn Lake Healthcare in Milwaukee. She was 95 years old. She was born on October 12, 1928 in Three Lakes, a daughter of Kostanty and Sophie (Golembeski) Rydzewski. She married Andrew Pawlak on October 8, 1949 at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Three Lakes. He preceded her in death on February 17, 2016.
She was a graduate of Three Lakes High School, class of 1946. After high school, Jean moved to Milwaukee and began working for Allen Bradley Machining and later Lakeside Manufacturing. In 1971, Andy opened Pawlak Tool & Manufacturing Company where Jean worked as the secretary, accountant and often assisted with deliveries. Jean and Andy retired in 1992 and moved to Antigo. After Andy's passing, Jean moved to Franklin to live closer to her daughter.
Jean was a member of St. John Catholic Church, Christian Mother's, and Altar Society. She volunteered at church and the Knights of Columbus Hall assisting with funeral meals and events and delivered Meals on Wheels for 11 years. During election years Jean worked at the City Hall assisting with the polls. She enjoyed gardening, playing cards and Zonk with ladies' groups, and was a regular at taking bus trips to the casino.
Survivors include her daughter, Diane (Scott) Olson of Oak Creek; son, Ronnie (Diane) Pawlak of Cedarburg; four grandchildren, Amy (Troy) Daniels, Brad Pawlak, Kristan (Rich) Jesel, and Lisa (Brad) Manz; five great-grandchildren, Sawyer, Wesley and Madelyn Manz, Cooper and Ella Daniels; sister, Marion Girard of Winthrop Harbor, IL; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Donald Pawlak; grandson, Matthew Olson; sisters, Mildred "Honey" (Leo) Kazmierczak and Adeline (Ted) Krepczinsk; brothers, Carl (Fern) Rydzewski, Norman (Lorraine) Rydzewski, Edwin (Ruby) Rydzewski; and brother-in-law, James Girard.
A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, May 6 at 11 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church with Very Rev. Joel Sember and Rev. Charles Hoffmann concelebrating. Entombment will take place in Queen of Peace Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. and continue on Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. all at Bradley Funeral Home. A parish wake service will be held Sunday at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Marilyn Frisch - April 05, 1940 - April 23, 2024

Obituary Preview: Marilyn Mae Frisch, age 84, of Antigo, died on April 23, 2024, at The Bay at Gardenview Assisted Living. She was born on April 5, 1940, in Antigo, a daughter of Bernard and Leona (Durkee) Cornelius. She married Donald Frisch on June 10, 1962. He preceded her in death on September 16, 2005.
Marilyn was a graduate of Antigo High School, class of 1958. She attended Langlade County Teachers College and the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point, receiving a bachelor's in Education.
In the beginning of her career, she taught in Marathon and Outagamie Counties. Mrs. Frisch was a first-grade teacher for the Unified School District of Antigo for 29 years.
She was a member of the Langlade Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Langlade County Retired Teachers Association, and St. John Catholic Church and the Altar Society.
Marilyn loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, was an avid reader, and was a Wisconsin sports fan. She enjoyed the companionship of Raymond Matucheski.
Survivors include three daughters, Sheryl (Mark) Hanke of Lake Mills, Kaye (Ray) Matucheski of Antigo, and Cynthia (Wayne) Habert of Appleton; a son, Steven (Jayme) Frisch of Appleton; grandchildren, Mike (Lea) Hanke, Kristin (Brian) Paulson, Megan (Jesse) Ashwill, Stephanie (Sean) Ingram, Scott (Julie) Matucheski, Kaylee (Andrew) Olund, Kyle (Taylore) Matucheski, Jonathon (Marla) Habert, Matthew Habert, Kaitlyn DeBraal, Brooke DeBraal and Paige DeBraal; great-grandchildren, Norah, Neve, Nella, McKenzie, Madalyn, Mason, Maxwell, Charlie, Mia, Ellie, Lily, Payton, Autumn, Kaiden, Asher and Jack; two sisters, Germaine Orlowski of Wausau, and Nancy (Vern) Jolitz of Hortonville; four sisters-in-law, Ann Cornelius of Antigo, Stella Cornelius of Manawa, Pat Frisch of Green Bay, and Lorraine Frisch of Antigo.

A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, April 27 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church with Rev. George Daniel and Rev. Charles Hoffmann officiating. Burial will take place in Queen of Peace Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday, April 26 from 4 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. all at the Bradley Funeral Home. A parish wake service will be held Friday at the funeral home at 6:30 p.m.

Barbara Frink-Alsteen - August 27, 1931 - April 23, 2024

Obituary Preview: Barbara G. Frink-Alsteen, of Antigo, passed away on April 23, 2024 at Eastview Medical and Rehabilitation Center. She was 92 years old. She was born on August 27, 1931 in Antigo, a daughter of Earl and Ruth (Allen) Rosio. She married Darrell Frink on June 30, 1948 in Antigo. He preceded her in death on May 23, 1976. She married Raymond Alsteen in June of 2002. He preceded her in death on October 20, 2023.
She attended Antigo High School. Barbara spent the majority of her life raising her eight children and later worked for Sheldon's Inc. tying flies and Lee's SuperValue in the bakery. While living in Arizona for five years she worked for the Little Plant Company with her daughter, Gene.
Barbara was a woman who was not afraid of living. She went parasailing in Florida on her 80th birthday and skydiving in Arizona with two of her grandchildren, Tori and Alexus, when she was 81. Barbara's greatest love was gardening and being a devoted mother and grandmother.
Survivors include six daughters, Judith Powell of Antigo, Joan (Donald) Eldridge of Antigo, Gene (Frank) Klarer of Tolleson, AZ, Diane Kassler of Antigo, Debra (Keith) Alsteen of Deerbrook, and Wendy (Lance) Van Price of Antigo; two sons, Daniel (Cynthia) Frink of Deerbrook and David (Joy) Frink of Ash Fork, AZ; 24 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; 27 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Daniel (JoAnne) Rosio of Antigo; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Steve Kassler; grandchildren, Alexandria Radtke and Shay Pendleton; great-grandchildren, Felicia Minard, Jake Hoernke, and Jered Pendleton; great-great-grandchild, Cora Jacobs; sisters, Ruth Hintz and Sally Michalak; and brother, Mike Rosio.

Norma Doering - December 18, 1930 - April 22, 2024

Obituary Preview: Norma Jean Doering, age 93, of Summit Lake, died on April 22, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 18, 1930 in Summit Lake, a daughter of Guy and Edith (Cunningham) Gehrke.
She was a graduate of Elcho High School, class of 1948. She married Edward Doering at Holy Family Catholic Church in Elcho. He preceded her in death on January 16, 2002.
Norma and Edward lived in Tomahawk and later moved to Cedarburg where they raised their family. Norma worked for ten years at Blue Cross Blue Shield and for their Christmas Tree Business. In 1984, they moved back to Summit Lake to build their retirement home.
She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church where she served as trustee, lector, and Eucharist Minister in church and for the homebound. She was also treasurer of the Ladies Altar Society for many years and served on the Human Concerns Committee. Norma also served on the board of directors and a volunteer for the Elcho Food Pantry, was a long-time member of the Elcho Book Club and Aspirus Welfit. Norma was a loyal and avid Green Bay Packer fan, a shareholder of the team, and was honored by them on her 90th birthday.
Survivors include three daughters, Barbara (Al) Weyker of Belgium, Susan (John) Liss of Summit Lake, Lisa (Jerry) Reynolds of Summit Lake; two sons, Ronald (Mary) Doering of Eau Claire, David (Denise) Doering of Green Bay; 15 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Jane Cumby and Beatrice Behnke; brother, Roland Gehrke; father and mother-in-law, Cecil and Pearl Doering; sisters-in-law, Margaret Doering, Jean Doering, and Crystal Doering; brothers-in-law, Alvin Behnke, Charles Cumby, Arden Doering, Larry Doering, and Alan Doering; five nieces and three nephews.
A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, April 27, at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Elcho with Rev. Arul Kennedy Gaspar officiating. Burial will take place at Lakeside Cemetery, Summit Lake.
Visitation will be on Saturday, April 27 at the church from 9 to 11 a.m.

Max Morehouse - March 09, 1933 - April 22, 2024

Obituary Preview: Max Lavere Morehouse, age 91, went home to be with the Lord on April 22, 2024. Max was a loving father, husband, grandfather, and a friend to so many. Most importantly, Max was a faithful servant of Jesus during his time on this earth. He loved so many fearlessly and wonderfully throughout his long and blessed life.
He was the son of Lavere and Ruth (Wilsen) Morehouse and a lifelong resident of the State of Wisconsin, a state whose natural beauty he deeply loved and revered.
Max was a devoted and loving husband to Ramona Morehouse for 46 years. Max was a kind, loving father and a mentor to his two sons, Terry (Rachel) Morehouse of South Beloit Illinois, Dale (Karen) Morehouse of Weston, Wisconsin, two step-daughters, Betsy (Daryl) Cross Griswold of Highlands, North Carolina, Mary Alice (Cross) Fleming of Minneapolis, Minnesota; eight grandchildren, Ryan (Michelle) Morehouse, Easton Morehouse, Grant Morehouse, Drew Morehouse, Cole Morehouse, Ahna Fleming, Micheal Cross, and Elizabeth Cross; two great-grandchildren, Quentin Morehouse and Aleha Morehouse; a daughter-in-law, Kelly Cross-Ewing of Winston Salem, North Carolina, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends too numerous to count.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bruce Morehouse, and his stepson, Michael S. Cross.
Max was a graduate of Antigo High School and received his bachelor's degree in Zoology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Max had several successful and rewarding careers. First as a manager for the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources where he was able to combine his love and care for God's beautiful earth with his great love of hunting and fishing. He then went on to serve as the National Sales Manager for Sheldon's Inc. in Antigo for many years where he traveled nationwide and was sought after for his expertise in fishing and sport. Max's greatest accomplishment during his life was his selfless heart and service to others and his passion to tell others the Good News of Jesus Christ. Those who knew Max will know, with certainty, that on the evening of April 22, he was met by Jesus who said "Well done my good and faithful servant."
Please join us to celebrate Max's life.
A funeral service is scheduled for Friday, April 26, at 12 p.m. at the Bradley Funeral Home, 1550 Neva Road, Antigo, Wisconsin, WI 54409. The Rev. Shane Wheeler will officiate.
A visitation will be held immediately prior to the service from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the funeral home.

Obituary Preview: Margaret "Maggie" Zehren, of White Lake, died on April 20, 2024 at Shawano Health Services. She was 90 years old. She was born on March 30, 1934 in Manawa, a daughter of Ed and Etta (Peterson) Nehring. She married Duane Zehren on May 3, 1958 in Clintonville.
She was a graduate of Clintonville High School, class of 1952. Maggie worked for Kimberly-Clark Corporation in Neenah for 39 years until her retirement.
Maggie was a proud member of the Boulder Lake Sno Go'ers Club. She and Duane were one of the original members when the club formed in 1968. Maggie enjoyed sewing.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Duane Zehren of White Lake; a sister, Pat (Pete) Theobald of Black Creek; brother-in-law, Roland (Carol) Zehren of Menasha; and many nieces and nephews.

He was a graduate of White Lake High School, class of 1975. Doug served in the United States Army. He worked for A.O. Smith Corp. in Milwaukee and Johnson Coil.
Doug enjoyed making firewood in the woods and repairing small motors.
Survivors include his biological children, Jessica (Mark) Schreiber of Antigo, Nicole (Shawn) Fredenberg of Shawano, and David Trevor of Green Bay; many grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bill Lambert of Eland and Samuel "Sonny" Lambert, Jr. of Milwaukee; and many close cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Teta Hoerman - December 24, 1949 - April 15, 2024

Obituary Preview: Teta Hoerman, of Antigo, died peacefully on April 15, 2024 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital surrounded by her family. She was 74 years old. She was born on December 24, 1949 in Whitewater, a daughter of Donald and Dora "Pat" (O'Connor) Platner. She married Dale Pellmann, they had three children. The couple later divorced. She married James Hoerman on June 12, 1992, he preceded her in death on November 16, 2014.
Teta graduated from Whitewater High School in 1968. She was employed at Schweiger Furniture in Jefferson for over 20 years. She then received her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Wisconsin, Whitewater, and her Master's in Education from Viterbo University. Mrs. Hoerman taught special education at East Elementary in Antigo for 22 years.
She was a member of St. John Catholic Church in Antigo. She enjoyed her flower gardens and antiquing, but her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include three children, Patty (Darwin DeClark) Pellmann, Stacy (Randy) Fermanich and Cory (Meghan) Pellmann all of Antigo; eight grandchildren, Natasha, Xavier and Callista Fermanich, Jessup, Tavia and Delaney DeClark, Rhys and Sawyer Pellmann; five sisters, Janet Bishop of Janesville, Mary O'Connor of South Milwaukee, Sue (Dennis) Latini of Chiefland, FL, Ann Wood of Chiefland, FL, and Nancy Platner of Edgerton; five brothers, Tim (Donna) Platner of Green Bay, Nic (Linda) Platner of Whitewater, Dik (Sharon) Platner of Whitewater, Sam (Inna) Platner of Laguna Niguel, CA, and Dan Platner of Madison; and special friends, Jackie and Roseanne. She held a special place in her heart for her nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son and brother-in-law, Ronnie Wood.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 20, at 12 p.m. at Bradley Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Hoffmann officiating. Visitation will be on Saturday, April 20, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will take place at a later date at the Calvary Cemetery in Whitewater.

Don Rose - June 20, 1936 - April 15, 2024

Obituary Preview: Don Rose, of Elton, died Monday, April 15, 2024, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 87 years old. He was born on June 20, 1936, in the Town of Evergreen, a son of Winfred Rose and Mary (Meeks) Rose Laehn. He married Patricia A. Ramer on February 26, 1955.
He attended Elton Grade School and White Lake High School. In 1954, Don enlisted in the United States Navy and served on the USS Bennington and USS Hornet until his honorable discharge in 1959.
Don and Pat raised their family in Kenosha while he worked for Johnson Motors, American Motors, and later Abbott Laboratories for 30 years until his retirement in 1993. After retiring at the age of 57, he and Pat returned to Elton where they built their dream home and enjoyed his 31 years of retirement.
Don was a member of the White Lake Anderson-Sather American Legion Post 524 serving as the Finance Officer for many years and a member of St. James and Stanislaus Parish. He also was a past chairman for the Elton School Preservation Society. He enjoyed hunting and was a die-hard Green Bay Packer fan. Don attended his first Packer game at the age of 86 with a victorious win over the Chicago Bears. "Go Pack Go!"
Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Patricia Rose of Elton; two daughters, Katherine (George) Borst of Pleasant Prairie and Rebecca Rose-Alan of Gilbert, Arizona; son, Michael (Julie) Rose of Pleasant Prairie; eight grandchildren, Morgan (Valerie) Cucciare-Barlett, Jeremiah (Allyson) Rose, Michael (Carrie) Borst, Gregory (Misty) Borst, Cody (Brooke) Ryback, Shane Rose, Travis Ryback, and Joshua (Dayna) Rose; thirteen great-grandchildren; five sisters, Carol Pilon Stevenson, Peggy Black, Shirley (Dan) Bradish, Jean (John) Mignone, and Marilyn Rose; two brothers, Robert (Rita) Rose and Terry (Cathy) Rose; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Donald Lee Rose; son-in-law, James Alan; and father and mother-in-law, Clyde and Ethel (Bebeau) Ramer.
A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, April 20, at 11 a.m. at St. James and Stanislaus Catholic Church in White Lake with Rev. George Daniel officiating. Burial will take place in St. Joseph Cemetery in Elton with Military Honors.
Visitation will be on Friday, April 19 from 4:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Bradley Funeral Home. A time of sharing will take place at 6:30 p.m.
Visitation will continue on Saturday at St. James and Stanislaus Catholic Church from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass.

Bona worked various part-time jobs including tying flies for Mepps/Sheldon's Inc, cleaning homes, Wild's potato farm, and Farmer's Home Restaurant.
She volunteered at C.A.R., and enjoyed flower gardening, weekly outings, fishing, remodeling, camping, renting cabins on the lake, and spending time with children and grandchildren.
Survivors include four children, Cheryl (William) Vehrs of Wausau, Randy (Dianne) Fritsch of Antigo, Ricky (Nancy) Fritsch of Antigo, and Cindy (Terry) Brittenham of Deerbrook; six grandchildren, Jenny (Bruce) Honzik, Jake (Jillian McCarthy) Thorbahn, Dori Howard, RyAnn (Ryan) Filbrandt, Tiffany Fritsch, Gabby Fritsch; ten great-grandchildren, Hunter (Gabby Held) Honzik, Trapper Honzik, Nate (Sadie Burkhart) Howard, Kaelee Howard, Brandi (Austin Rekow) Howard, Nick Howard, Luella Filbrandt, Knolan Rhode, Dawson Norwood, Waylon Richard Fritsch; three great-great-grandchildren, Sunny, Daisy and Easton; a brother, Gary (Stephen) Purdy; five sisters-in-law, Norma Fritsch, Arlene Brown, Margaret (Pete) Rolin, Wanda Fritsch and Dora Purdy.

Matthew Zahringer - February 18, 1982 - April 12, 2024

Obituary Preview: Matthew Zahringer, of Antigo, died unexpectedly on April 12, 2024 at his home. He was 42 years old. He was born on February 18, 1982 in Highland Park, IL, a son of Laurie (Herman) Tackett of Elton and James Zahringer of Gresham.
From the age of 12 to 18 Matt was a caddy at a golf course in Highland Park where his grandfather and uncles also worked as young men. He graduated from Stevenson High School in Buffalo Grove, IL and then attended the University of Wisconsin Madison for Computer Science. Following the events of 9/11 Matt gave up a scholarship and moved to Antigo to be closer to family. He then attended North Central Technical College and Nicolet Technical College for Criminal Justice.
Shortly after moving he met Jacilyn Augustyn and they were married on June 5, 2004 at Faith Center in Antigo.
For nearly 18 years Matt has been employed at Amron in Antigo. He was a proud and loving husband and father. He enjoyed playing tabletop games with his wife, kids, and other family members. He loved being able to teach his sons and pass on his love of gaming to them.

Alfred Hoffman - June 19, 1929 - April 12, 2024

Obituary Preview: Alfred E. Hoffman, age 94, of Antigo, died on April 12, 2024 at Eastview Medical and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on June 19, 1929 in Langlade, a son of the late Henry and Anita (Buchman) Hoffman. He married Virginia Kaplanek on October 11, 1952 at St. James Catholic Church in White Lake.
He graduated from White Lake High School in 1948. A Korean War veteran, Mr. Hoffman served in the United States Marine Corps from 1948 to 1952 participating in the Inchon Landing and the battle of Chosin Reservoir.
Al was a butter and cheese maker at Bleicks Creamery in Bonduel. He moved to Antigo and was employed at Hyland Lakes for a few years. He had a 23-year career with Langlade County Hwy Department, retiring in 1991. Following his retirement he served as bailiff for Langlade County Circuit Court.
He was a member of SS Mary & Hyacinth Catholic Church and the Anderson-Sather American Legion Post 524, White Lake.
Al enjoyed fishing, motorcycles, bowling, playing cribbage and spending time with his grandchildren. He also liked bird watching, reading, the Milwaukee Brewers, Green Bay Packers, and attending his grandchildren's sporting events. Big Al will be remembered for his love for life and his humor. His legacy will live on forever.
Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Virginia; four children, Richard (Donna) Hoffman of Plover, Robert (Cheryl) Hoffman of Greenville, Anne (Craig) Osborne of Antigo and Lynn (Dan) Duley of Antigo; seven grandchildren, Mark (Sarah) Hoffman, Paul (Lori) Hoffman, Ryan (Carrie) Hoffman, Eric (Erin) Hoffman, Alissa (Scott) Ralph, Brenna Osborne, and Luke Osborne; and 11 great-grandchildren, Talan, Conner, Kylie, Haylie, Hayden, Holtyn, Cora, Gavin, Luke, Nolan and Ella.

He graduated from Antigo High School in 1960. Mr. Lenzner was a truck driver starting at Vulcan Company in Antigo for 7 years, then drove a ready mix truck for 11 years for Wausau Materials. He later drove for Bushman Riverside Ranch Potato Farm in Crivitz, retiring on January 2, 1995.
Bob was a member of the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed hunting and woodworking.
Survivors include his wife, Louella of Elcho; two daughters, Lori (John) Agacki of Shawano and Anne (Steve) Casarez of Adell; two sons, Brian (Diane) Lenzner and Jeff (Lisa) Lenzner all of Antigo; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; four sisters, Gloria Basinger of McAlester, OK, Darlene Barta of Antigo, Phyllis (Ben) Benishek of Antigo and Carolyn Hobgood of Virginia; and a brother, Dan (Linda) Lenzner of Tomahawk.

He was a graduate of Little Chute High School and worked as a Press Operator at several different places before retiring to his place in Lily.
He served 6 years in the United States Army before his honorable discharge.
In his younger years, Dick loved wrestling, softball, bowling, foosball and playing cards. He and his brother Ben were the Kings of the foosball table. He loved his "piece of mud" in Lily, spending time outdoors, fishing, campfires, boat rides, giving kids golf cart rides, telling jokes and stories, playing roll-your-own cribbage, spending time with family and friends and of course his Miller High Life. He looked forward to visits from his great niece and nephew, Zander and Sienna. The most common comment about Dick's passing was this..."I remember Dick, he was always fun to spend time with."

Obituary Preview: Robert James Herrmann, died on April 2, 2024 under the care of his family and LeRoyer Hospice. He was 89 years old. He was born on June 3, 1934 in Red Springs, WI a son of the late Charles and Minnie (Loehrl) Herrmann. He married Judy Terrio on October 12, 1957 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bowler. She preceded him in death in December of 2017.
Robert graduated from Mattoon High School in 1952.
He was a dairy farmer and logger in the town of Aniwa until 1979. His passion for hunting and fishing led him to move out West. Robert lived in White Hall, Montana where he owned the Rice Motel for 8 years and worked as a carpenter building homes. While in White Hall he coached baseball and was proud to win the American Legion Baseball State Championship.
Robert's passion in life was hunting with hounds, he went on many hunting trips and many fellow hunters made trips to Montana to hunt with him. He enjoyed fishing, taking an annual family fishing trip to the boundary waters in Northern Minnesota, Canada and the Dakotas. He also enjoyed spending time at the log cabin he built in the mountains.
In 2008 he moved to Elcho where he continued to hunt and fish. Robert also enjoyed card games with family.
Survivors include three sons, John (Deana Jensen) Herrmann of Antigo, Doug (Linda) Herrmann of Bismarck, N.D., and Thomas Herrmann of Antigo; a daughter, Kay (Edwin) Ruckdaschel of Douglas, WY; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and a sister, Margaret Zoern of Aniwa.

Jerry was a lifelong mechanic that was very passionate about his job. He worked for MidCity Auto for 20 years. Jerry enjoyed fishing and had a love for dogs and MOST cats.
Survivors include four sisters, Patricia Kroening of Antigo, Kathy (Wally) Olejnik of Elcho, Susan (Mike) Wainwright of Monticello, and Cheryl (Wayne) Shewell of Elkhart Lake; a son, Erich Olsen of Guam; alongside many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of life will be held on July 4th, 2024 at Kathy and Wally's house, W8720 Fond du Lac Lane, Elcho. Burial will take place in Elcho Cemetery at a later date.

Herbert Meyer - November 24, 1933 - March 30, 2024

Obituary Preview: Herbert D. Meyer, of Antigo, was received into the arms of Jesus on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at Mount View Care Center in Wausau. He was 90 years old. He was born on November 24, 1933 in Aniwa, a son of Francis and Mary (Ebert) Meyer. He attended Sandy Lane Grade School. He married Mary Petroski on May 10, 1958 at St. John Catholic Church in Antigo. She preceded him in death on January 11, 2022.
Herb was a man of many odd jobs and talents including working for the White Owl Mink Ranch, a beer delivery route with his late brother, Fran, working on the railroad, making cheese at Kraft Foods, and at one time owning his own dump truck to haul green beans to local canneries. He also loved animals and had many dogs over the years.
He was an avid fisherman passing his love for the sport on to several generations. His annual fishing trip to Lake Gogebic in Michigan included some of his brothers and later his children joined him. He also enjoyed going to Bent's Camp on Mamie Lake in Land O' Lakes, a tradition that is still being carried out every year by his good "fishing buddies", his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Herb's true passion was working in his beautifully manicured yard. He took great pride in mowing his lawn and affectionately referred to his John Deere riding mower at "Johnny".
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara (Joe) Kostyn of Mosinee; two sons, William (Jackie) Meyer of Tomahawk and Don (Rachael) Meyer of Mosinee; six grandchildren, Ben (Winter) Kostyn, Corbin (Mikaela) Kostyn, Billie (Jon) Nyberg, Hanna Meyer, Sophie Meyer and Sierra Meyer; four great-grandchildren, Jackson and Ruby Kostyn and Molly and Chloe Kostyn; a sister-in-law, Lucy Meyer of Antigo; and brother-in-law, John Petroski of Maplewood, MN.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Blanche Wyrwas and Charlotte Heinrich; six brothers, Ruben, Omer, Mello, Francis, John, and Joseph Meyer in infancy.
A memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 9 at 11:30 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church with the Very Reverend Joel Sember officiating. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the church in Hoffmann Hall.

Born on September 29, 1932, in Antigo, Joe was the third son of Joseph and Mona (Rose) Servi. He married Shirley Funk on September 10, 1955, at St. Mary Catholic Church. She preceded him in death on September 1, 2023.
He was a graduate of Antigo High School, class of 1950. Joe served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict on a Naval Destroyer. Following his marriage to Shirley, Joe began his career working for the National Cash Register company as a systems specialist and branch manager. In the 1970s Joe moved his family to Antigo and became owner of Clermont Printing focusing on the sales of equipment and office supplies until his retirement in 1996.
Joe was a member of Msgr. Conrad Saile Knights of Columbus Council 1002, Antigo, and the Langlade County Trap League. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, being outdoors, bowling, and was an avid reader. After retirement, Joe and Shirley enjoyed their time traveling. Above all else, Joe cherished being a husband and father, loved spending time with his family, and expressed to his children "You are and were my life".
Survivors include two sons, Stephen (Rosemary) Servi of Antigo and Joseph (Misty) Servi, III of Pickerel; two daughters, Victoria (Michael) Seavecki of Appleton and Lori (Tim) Stieber of Hudson; nine grandchildren, Adam Servi, Jason (Kristi) Servi, Heather (fiancé David) Servi, Lindsay (Ben) Schmitt, Luke (Amanda) Seavecki, Kalina (Eric) Rojo, Ericka (Adam) Voigt, Stephanie (Melissa) Servi, and Joseph (Migdalia) Servi, IV; 14 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Larry (Rosalie) Servi, Edward (Catherine) Servi, and Vernon (Margaret) Servi; and sisters, Rosella (Peter) Jagla and Armella (Jack) Bunten.
A funeral Mass will be held on Monday, April 1 at 11 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church with Rev. George Daniel and Rev. Charles Hoffmann concelebrating. Entombment will take place in Queen of Peace Cemetery. Antigo Veterans will be conducting military honors. Visitation will be on Monday, April 1 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass in Hoffmann Hall at church.

They were married for 62 years when he passed away on April 2, 2019.
Joan graduated from Antigo High School, class of 1953, and then worked at Employers Insurance in Wausau. After her marriage, she was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking, baking, and canning. She was involved in her church and taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School throughout the years that her children attended. Joan later worked with Lyle in their business ventures until their retirement.
Survivors include her daughter, Lynn (Gary) Allison of Muscatine, IA; son, Lee (Angela) Foth of Polar; four grandchildren, Nicole (Dave) Sether, Ben (Katie) Schultz, Luke (Daisy) Foth, and Dustin (Megan) Foth; eight great-grandchildren, Ezra and Kai Sether, Kinnick and River Schultz, Linus Foth, and Eli, Maggie and Zeke Foth; and one brother Eugene (Candace) Gress.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert (Jan) Gress, and special aunt and uncle, Emma and Wallace Janke.

Marlow Strehlow - July 17, 1922 - March 20, 2024

Obituary Preview: Marlow E. Strehlow, of Antigo, died on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at Rosalia Gardens Assisted Living under the care of LeRoyer Hospice. He was 101 years old. He was born on July 17, 1922 in Antigo, a son of Louie and Emma (Wojan) Strehlow. He married Bertha Neubauer on January 7, 1958. She preceded him in death on April 19, 1987.
He was a graduate of Antigo High School, class of 1941.
A World War II veteran, Marlow served in the United States Army from June 1943 to December 1945 in the European Theater with the 340 QM Depot Supply. He received the European, African, and Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with two Bronze Battle Stars, and four overseas service bars.
Mr. Strehlow was a salesman having worked for Montgomery Wards, McCandless, Zobel and Bradley Funeral Home and Furniture Store, Glowen's Department Store where he was also assistant manager, and David's Clothing Store for Men and Boys retiring in 1987.
He was a lifelong member of Peace Lutheran Church. For over 50 years Marlow was an active member of the Antigo Lions Club. He held all the local club offices and was District Governor in 1971-72. He served on the State Site Committee, Parliamentarian and District Election Committee, and as director of the Lions Foundation in Rosholt. For many years he picked up glasses locally and took them to Rosholt to be recycled. He was the recipient of the Melvin Jones Award, the highest honor you can receive as a Lion's member.
Marlow also volunteered to deliver Meals on Wheels for over 20 years.
In his younger years, he enjoyed hockey, having been on the first city hockey team in 1950. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and in his later years, he loved golfing, getting a hole-in-one at the age of 85.
Survivors include many distant relatives, nieces, nephews, close friends, and caregivers.
In addition to his parents and wife, Marlow was preceded in death by his sister, Mildred (Harley) Cary; and brother, Ruben (Lenore) Strehlow.

Obituary Preview: Michael B. Waters, of White Lake, died Tuesday, March 19, 2024, at Rose Mary Manor. He was 91 years old. He was born on September 28, 1932, in Langlade, a son of Thomas and Mabel (Shannon) Waters. He married Carol "Jean" Buch on October 21, 1958, in Milwaukee.
He served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1956. Mike and Jean lived in Milwaukee for a brief amount of time until moving back to White Lake. He worked for Dierck's Potatoes for over ten years, Soo Line Railroad for one and a half years. Mike worked in the lumber yard of Robbins Inc. driving a forklift for 23 years until his retirement in 1996. After retirement, he helped at Wahleithner's Farm.
Mike was a member of Anderson-Sather American Legion Post 524, White Lake for 60 years. He was also with the White Lake Volunteer Fire Department and volunteered with the department's annual fishing derby fundraiser. Outside of work, Mike was an avid hunter and fisherman and spent much of his free time on his hunting land, cutting firewood, and enjoying the outdoors. He also enjoyed golfing with his wife and sitting on his porch swing. Mike was known to have a sweet tooth and always looked forward to dessert.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Jean Waters of White Lake; three sons, Michael (Debbie) Waters of White Lake, Jeffrey (Jill) Waters of Polar, and Steven (Debbie) Waters of Black Creek; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ethel Pavek of Polar, Norma (Richard) Doemel of Canada, and Criss Kielcheski of White Lake; five brothers, Charles (Sue Hawley) Waters of White Lake, Terry (Bonnie) Waters of Kaukauna, Andy (Melissa) Waters of MN, Arthur (Sharon) Waters of Appleton, and Russell (Marcie) Waters of Appleton; four grand-dogs; and many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and nieces and nephews.

She was a graduate of Elcho High School. Laurie enjoyed doing concrete work for Musson Brothers though she often dreamt of opening her own cafe. She was currently employed at Eastview Medical and Rehabilitation Center in Antigo.
Though best known and loved for her sense of humor and spicy personality, she was caring, generous, and loved her children fiercely. Beloved by her friends and partners in crime, Roxie and the late Marvel.
She was an animal lover but held a special place for her grand-dog, Benz. She loved music, the Green Bay Packers, and a good cup of coffee. She was a person who would always answer when you called, enjoyed late-night talks about spirituality and existentialism, and loved sharing stories and jokes. She was beautiful inside and out and will be deeply missed by many.
Survivors include a son, Zachary (MaCaela) Pomar of Bryant; a daughter, Shannon Tarantino of Milwaukee; grandchildren, Emma, Michael, Max and Mathew; a sister, Pam Santos of Milwaukee; and two brothers, Jay Brendemuehl and Jeff Brendemuehl.

He was born on September 25, 1948 in Antigo, a son of Bernie and Genevieve (Snow) Spurgeon. He married Mary Luepke on March 31, 1973 at Calvary Lutheran Church. She preceded him in death on January 20, 2012.
John was a graduate of Antigo High School, class of 1966. After employment with Coca-Cola and Miller Tire, he began his career as a welder with Polar Welding. John was a gifted welder and fabricator for over 40 years when he retired from Hydratight Sweeney in 2013.
John had many passions. He was an outdoor enthusiast enjoying hunting, fishing, and trap shooting. His love for history stemmed into the Civil War, early 20th-century gangsters, and the Old West, as well as local mystery and folklore. He almost always owned a motorcycle, sometimes more than one at a time. Having been a longtime Hunter Education instructor (more than 15 years), John frequented local and regional gun shows and was utilized as an expert on this topic by family and friends. His experience working with metal as a vocation also spilled over into collecting and refurbishing old knives. With his eye for detail, John created hand-lettered signage for local businesses and individuals. John loved animals. He enjoyed many family pets but gravitated toward dogs. Even when he didn't have any of his own at home, he welcomed and spoiled his "furry grandkids" when his children visited.
Survivors include two daughters, Laurie (Doug) Muench of Rio, and Oriana (Chas) Layman of Wausau and; son, Tyler (Janessa Keen) Spurgeon of Mount Airy, North Carolina, and their children (John's grandchildren), Azalea and Cassius Spurgeon; brother, Gerald (Beverly) Spurgeon of Antigo, sister-in-law, Ann Scott of Arizona; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, John was preceded in death by his nephew, Jim Spurgeon; father and mother-in-law, Arnold and Grace Luepke; and brother-in-law, William Scott.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 11 at 7 p.m. at Bradley Funeral Home with Rev. David Karolus officiating. Inurnment will take place in Evergreen Cemetery in Bowler on Friday, April 12 at 10 a.m. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 11 from 4 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
